NintendoLogic Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I was hoping the low blow would be the finish.
hammerva Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Yeah unless Rousey beats Jax in about 10 seconds (which wouldn't shock me) this 4 hour PPV is going 4 1/2
El Dragon Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I really like both Ibushi matches as well as the 2014 and 2015 G1 finals. With that said, I'm certain future generations will look back at Nakamura as the most inexplicable WON HOF inductee. Ultimo Dragon?
C.S. Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Remember when announce table spots were special?
stunning_grover Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I forgot about the Ibushi matches and that was mostly Ibushi being great. Still disappointed with Nakamura's WWE run.
El Dragon Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Yeah, I'll be the high voice in this match. That to me was easily the best Styles/Nak match in the E pretty easily to me. Not a classic, but a really good match.
CarpetCrawler Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I enjoyed the hell out of this match. The last few minutes were white hot as hell.
Mad Dog Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I forgot about the Ibushi matches and that was mostly Ibushi being great. Still disappointed with Nakamura's WWE run. I have to say it every time. I saw Ibushi have an almost *** match with a blowup doll. I think it's impossible to have a bad match with him.
NintendoLogic Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 The problem with matches like these is that they can't do anything to overshadow the stage-managed set pieces so they have to spend the bulk of the match in first gear.
C.S. Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Ultimo Dragon > Shinsuke Nakamura Not exactly a Hot Take. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind disagreeing with this.
Zoo Enthusiast Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Yeah, I'll be the high voice in this match. That to me was easily the best Styles/Nak match in the E pretty easily to me. Not a classic, but a really good match. They just had too many damn matches. Especially coming off the endless AJ/Kami run.
Mad Dog Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I would take Tanahashi and Okada over Nakamura easily.
El Dragon Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Ultimo Dragon > Shinsuke Nakamura Not exactly a Hot Take. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind disagreeing with this. As a wrestler, yes. As a draw? The other things that usually go with being a WON HOF member? I could maybe buy influence because of Dragon Gate, but it's a lose call.
hammerva Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 So Rousey vs Jax isn't the main event. So it actually may go 10 - 15 seconds
CarpetCrawler Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 I haven't been watching the past couple of weeks/long while because I've been in E3 mode. Did they seriously restart Nia and turn her into a villain after spending so much time using her for the positive anti-bullying messages?
KawadaSmile Posted June 18, 2018 Author Report Posted June 18, 2018 That the LMS was the best of the AJ/Nak matches shouldn't even be debatable, but it was such a low bar, and it FINALLY being the first one to deliver on this really long and worn-out feud made it boring to me, regardless of its undeniable qualities.
hammerva Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Well I guess they assume that they have to turn Nia heel because Rousey will be so liked by the crowd. Unfortunately I don't think that will happen with this crowd

Exactly.

He was one of the top 3 cruiserweights in WCW, for whatever that's worth. If he influenced Dragon Gate, that's pretty big. Also, there's a move named after him (that I think he also invented) - the Asai Moonsault. Good enough for the WON HOF.
NintendoLogic Posted June 18, 2018 Report Posted June 18, 2018 Are they seriously billing Nia Jax as 6'2 now?

It evolved from Toryumon which he founded and he also trained a lot of the mainstays for DG.
