spaldoni
USWA TV @ The Civic Auditorium Knoxville TN 5-1-85 Footage from the Hammond Center is shown of Carlos Colon defeating Hercules Ayala for the Central States Title! Lance Russell: Hello again wrestling fans and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA Network. Congratulations to Carlos Colon on winning the Central States Title. I'll be speaking with the new champ later on tonight. After weeks of Sonny King and The Movement badmouthing the Grapplers, the Grapplers have responded with a challenge and that match will happen tonight! We all saw the brawl between the Armstrong's, Southern Justice and Tully Blanchard last week. Jerry Jarrett has banned all 6 men from the building tonight however, next week they will battle it out in the main event. So much going on... Boos as Sonny King, Central States Tag Champs the Movement and Hercules Ayala storm the podium. King: I've been saying for months that the powers that be have been against us from day one! Now its been proven without a shadow of a doubt. Colon won the Central States title and guess who wasn't able to be there? That's right...me! What a crock of Lance: Ok be careful King: I've had it! Ayala will get his title back and has a challenge for you Carlos Colon. Ayala: Colon! We have gone back and forth for as long as I can remember. Now you have my title. Let's settle this the old way. Parade of Champions, you and me taped fist match for the Central States title! King: There you have it. Ayala will get his title back plain and simple. Now as for those masked idiots the Grapplers. Tonight you meet your demise as the real champs The Movement will take you down! Again, plain and simple. Lance: A lot of angry men. Tonight could be another wild night. Let's go to the ring. Chief Joe Lightfoot vs. Trent Watkins Lightfoot looks sharp tonight and finishes things off with a tomahawk chop from the middle ropes to get the pin. Lightfoot cuts a promo on being in the upcoming Parade of Champions Battle Royal. Lance: Thank you Joe, you're defiantly a class act. Before Joe can exit. Boos as Les Thornton escorts Tony St. Clair to the podium. Les: You said class act so I just assumed you were talking about Tony St. Clair. We all found out that Mr. St. Clair finally gets an overdue shot at the TV title at Parade of Champions. Rick Martel you've had a remarkable run but that will end on May 23rd. You are an amazing wrestler but not even you are in the same league as Tony St. Clair. This man is on an entirely different level than any other wrestler in the world. And the world will see that on May 23rd. Les leaves and Tony follows and bumps Lightfoot. Lightfoot: Hey hold on. You seem very confident in your skills. Well how about we have a match next week and you put your TV title shot on the line? Les: You don't deserve a response from the man who is simply the best. I'll go ahead and say we accept. However when Mr. St. Clair wins you must bow down to him in the middle of the ring like the peasant you are. Lightfoot steps up but Les and Tony just laugh him off and walk away. Lightfoot: The match is on! Lance: How about that, Joe Lightfoot and Tony St. Clair will meet next week. Who knows, it might be Martel defending against Joe Lightfoot at Parade of Champions. Commercial Break Adrian Adonis vs. Steven Jacobs Adonis just pummels his opponent until finally finishing him off with the DDT! The fans boo as Adonis picks Jacobs up and hits another DDT! Adonis goes to the outside and throws a chair into the ring. Adonis looks in the camera and yells "This is for you Lawler" Adonis gets in the ring and picks up the lifeless body. Lance: Oh no he's going to DDT the young Jacobs on that chair! Please don't do that! The fans erupt as JERRY LAWLER hits the ring and pounds away on Adonis! Adonis fights back and these two really go at it. Officials and prelim wrestlers hit the ring to break it up. Lawler and Adonis break free a couple times and continue fighting into the commercial. Commercial Break Lance: Oh my, things have settled down. Poor Steven Jacobs was carried out on a stretcher. Thank goodness Lawler showed up when he did. Those two are heading for an explosive street fight at Parade of Champions. Speaking of Parade of Champions, Ron Slinker has sent us a tape from Japan with a special challenge for Parade of Champions. Ron Slinker is standing there. Behind him are 2 Japanese wrestlers with their arms folded and menacing looks. Slinker: American Made! You have been nothing but trouble and I'm putting a stop to that. Behind me is the Japanese Furies, Junji Hirata and Yoshiaki Yatsu, two of the most devastating wrestlers Japan has to offer. They have one mission to accomplish and that is to destroy you at Parade of Champions. Let's just see how tough you boys are when you have to face an unbeatable force like the Furies. At Parade of Champions, vengeance will be mine! Lance: Some very threatening words by Ron Slinker. Joining me now is Don Kernodle and Corporal Kirchner known as American Made. Well you guys just heard the challenge issued. Kernodle: Slinker, you started all this and we've beaten you and a variety of partners numerous times. If you think you can bring in another team and intimidate us...think again! Kirchner: That's right! Slinker we gladly accept! Lance: Ok, there you have it. A very interesting match for Parade of Champions. Back to the ring. The Club w/Arnold Skaaland vs. The Fabulous Blondes These teams have been going to 10 minute draws on the loops and tonight they get some TV time. Pretty fun back and forth match. About 8 minutes in, the Blondes are double teaming Crews in the corner. George has enough and runs in. As the Ref is guiding George back, the Blondes hit a double suplex on Crews to get the pin! Blondes exit and celebrate outside the ring like they just won the lottery. George attends to Crews while Skaaland is frustrated and questioning George. Commercial Break Lance: I'm here with Arnold Skaaland and the Club. Arnold you looked a bit frustrated. Skaaland: That's because I am. Look boys I promised to elevate you to another level but you cant make mistakes like that. I've told you that you have to be focused, aware and smart at all times. You didn't follow those instructions and look what happened. George: Arnold, I'm sorry, I just couldn't watch and let my partner get double teamed like that. Skaaland: Alright alright, what's done is done time to move on. I just talked with Jarett in the back and he's granted us another match with the Fabulous Blondes at Parade of Champions. How's that sound? Crews: Sounds great and we promise a different outcome. Skaaland: (puts his towel around Crews' neck) That a boy! Lance: Ok back to the ring Bulldog Bob Brown vs. Gary Williams Brown punches, stomps and bites Williams before body slamming him down and finishing him off with a standing legdrop! Boos as Brown goes to the podium. Brown: You know there's a lot of so called tough guys saying they're going to win the Parade of Champions battle royal. You people are looking at the winner. Yea that's right, I'm the one that's going be to be holding that trophy and I'm the one walking away with 50 grand! Commercial Break Lance: Now I would like to bring out the new Central States Champion, Carlos Colon. The fans cheer as Colon smiles and pumps his fist to them then shakes Lance's hand. Lance: Congratulations Carlos. Well you heard the challenge made from Hercules Ayala. He wants you in a taped fist title match at Parade of Champions. Colon: I worked long and hard to win this prestigious title and I'm ready for all comers. Ayala you want a taped fist match? I accept! Lance: Alright another match set for Parade of Champions. Back to the ring. "Mean" Mike Miller vs. William Hillman Miller has made quite a bit of money as a hired henchman. Carl Fergie recently paid him to take out Rip Oliver. Tonight Miller lives up to his Mean moniker as he's all over Hillman. Miller hits a backbreaker then goes to the top rope and crashes down with a flying legdrop for the pin! Miller picks up Hillman and hurls him out of the ring before heading to the podium. Miller: Oliver! Boy I gave you a beating last week and now you're stupid enough to challenge me at Parade of Champions. That suits me just fine because now I get to finish the job once and for all! Commercial Break "Avalanche" Buzz Tyler vs. Todd Rooney Tyler simply overpowers his opponent and finishes him off with a running powerslam! Tyler heads to the podium. Tyler: Ted Arcidi! We aint done buddy and I cant wait to see you in the Parade of Champions battle royal because you're going over and out! Tyler exits and Carl Fergie and the Syndicate enter. Lance: Can I help you Carl? Fergie: Once again you four eyed nerd it's Cool Carl Fergie! Now the entire wrestling world is talking about me coming out of retirement for the big battle royal. Oh yea everybody is talking about it. That trophy is going to look good in my living room and my living room is going to look great after I put 50,000 dollars into it. I'm going to get me a top of the line recliner chair. You know the kind that have a holder for your drink. Now get ready four eyes because you're going to see tag team perfection as Brian Adias and Gary Young are set for action. Master G's! You better see what you're in for at Parade of Champions. After they see this, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Gerry Morrow skips town and leaves little Georgie Wells on his own. The Syndicate vs. Sam and Sean Smith Young and Adias are in top forum tonight and hit the double gut buster for the win! Commercial Break Lance: Please welcome out Bruce Hart. Bruce good to see you back. I know things have been tough as Karachi Vice took out your partner John Quinn. I have to ask what's next? Bruce: I want to wish John Quinn a speedy recovery. I feel like this is all my fault. He came in to help me and he shouldn't of went out like that. Karachi Vice! This isn't over and I will get payback for Quinn. At Parade of Champions you will go down because here's who will be my partner. Cheers as Keith Hart comes out. Keith: Nothing is stronger than blood and Karachi Vice you're going to find out why the Hart's are the toughest family in wrestling. John Quinn, this one's for you! Bruce: The Hart's are back and Karachi Vice get ready because we're coming after you! Lance: Ok, the Hart's are reunited. Back to the ring. "Outlaw" Ron Bass vs. Vic Dutro Bass looks angry tonight and takes it all out on Dutro. Bass finishes him off with the gourdbuster! Bass grabs Miss Betsy and goes to the podium. Lance flinches as Bass cracks his whip. Bass: Just what the hell is going on?! I was suppose to face Colon at Parade of Champions for a shot at the USWA title and now that isn't happening. Just what the hell is that all about?! Bass cracks the whip and Lance flinches again. Lance: Please just relax. That makes me nervous. Things changed when Colon won the Central States title. Don't worry I heard you will be compensated. Another crack of the whip. Bass: The bottom line is nobody wants to face me because everybody is yellow! There is no competition here. You all are a bunch of gutless cowards! Cowards! Bass cracks the whip and Lance just walks away. Commercial Break NON TITLE MATCH USWA Tag Champs The Grapplers vs. Central States Champs The Movement w/Sonny King Both teams are in the ring pointing and yelling at each other. WHAM! Sonny King nails Grappler 1 across the back with a chair! Grappler 2 looks over and the Movement kick him and hit a Double Russian Leg Sweep! Sonny hits Grappler 1 several times on the back with the chair. The Movement pick up Grappler 2 and hold him while Sonny cracks him over the head with the chair! Sonny and The Movement stand tall over the fallen Grapplers. Commercial Break Lance: The Grapplers had to be helped out of here. That was purely despicable. Jerry Jarrett comes to the podium. Jarrett: I've said this before and I meant it. Parade of Champions will be about getting things resolved and this will be resolved. At the Parade of Champions, it will be a 6 man tag match. The Movement along with Sonny King. That's right since King wants to get involved he will. They will take on the Grapplers and a partner of their choice. It's happening! Lance: Wow what a bombshell. I think he's right, so much will be resolved at Parade of Champions. Speaking of that historic card. I want to end the show with some pre recorded comments from both Nick Bockwinkel and Kerry Von Erich as they will meet for the USWA title at Parade of Champions. Footage is shown from last week as Bock nailed Kerry with the title busting him open. Bock then clamped on the Indian Deathlock as the show ended. We go to a swimming pool and Bock is sitting on a chair soaking up some sun. Bock: I'm still having a tough time accepting the fact that I have to defend this title against Kerry Von Erich in Texas of all places. I'm not going to say this is a conspiracy but one has to wonder. Is it because I'm a Californian? Yea those good ol folks in Texas just cant stand the fact that we are superior in every way. So it upsets me that Kerry Von Erich is the one I have to face. It upsets me that I'm being told he gets a chance to be champion. He runs around living a lifestyle that is undeserving of being a champion. Now, I admit Kerry is athletic, talented and tough but when it comes to wrestling quite frankly he comes up short. If there was one man in the world who I thought could beat me for this title, Kerry Von Erich would be last on the list. When it's all said and done, this title is going to stay where it rightfully belongs...with me. The next shot is in a gym with Kerry sitting on a bench. Kerry: Nick Bockwinkel! You tried to take me out but brother you failed miserably! You sit there and bad mouth Texas and all its people but brother this Texan whipped your butt on national TV and I'm damn sure going to do it again! I always follow through with what I say and at Parade of Champions I'm taking that title! Kerry sits back and starts hitting the leg extensions. Blehschmidt
A shot at the TV Title versus Bowing Down, oh boy, I hope Lightfoot can pull that one off! The Lawler/Adonis rematch is going to be a war, and I am looking forward to it. Slinker bringing in the Japanese to feud with American Made will surely get him some heat, but I gotta go with the home team! I like the Kirchner/Kernodle pairing. Speaking of which, I love the Regal/Donovan pairing! Fabulous Blondes may be my favorite team on the roster right now. Glad to see them rack up another win! Ayala/Colon in a taped fist match will surely be a blood bath. Now you have two Hart's running around? You'd better be careful, that's how an infestation gets started! Ron Bass is pissed, and that is going to be bad news for somebody. Really liked that interview with him, short, angry, and to the point. Very much wanna see who he takes it out on. The Grapplers/Movement feud just got real ugly, and now we are heading for a six man!! Sonny King isn't going to like that!! Wonder who The Grapplers will bring in? Bockwinkel/Kerry is such a great main event for Texas. Those fans will be nuclear. Parade of Champions is stacked!! Another awesome show this week! kevinmcfl
Nice show here. Enjoyed Sonny King losing his cool in the interview to begin the show and he just couldn't seem to find his happy place all night as he brings in the chair to crack the Grapplers! Awesome TV Slinker is becoming such a huge heel! He would get some big heat siding with the Japanese. Coach Arnold may have his work cut out for him if he thinks he is going to get that team to the top of a crowded division. Just maybe his style will work or maybe some chaos might be coming? Looking forward to seeing it! Angry Ron Bass as a singles wrestler is my favorite Ron Bass! Enjoying his character her! All Roads Lead To Parade Of Champions! Can't wait
spaldoni
USWA @ The Freedom Hall Civic Center 5-3-85 Bruce and Keith Hart vs. 2 Local Talents Keith gives the Hart's the win after a flying body press "Crippler" Rip Oliver vs. "The Patrolman" Dale Veasey Veasey is a tough customer but Oliver comes back and gets the win with a flying forearm blast from the middle ropes The Syndicate w/"Cool" Carl Fergie vs. The Club w/Arnold Skaaland The Club has the match in control until Fergie distracts George which allows Adias to nail him with a high knee and roll him up for the win. After the match Skaaland is visible frustrated. "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi (Subbing for Buzz Tyler) vs. "The World's Strongest Man" Ted Arcidi Afi is in serious trouble when Arcidi has him clamped in a powerful bearhug. Afi headbutts his way out of it. Arcidi falls to the canvas, then Afi swings off the ropes and hits a diving headbutt for the pin. Scott and Steve Armstrong vs. Southern Justice Another wild match between these feuding teams. The Ref and Scott Armstrong take a bump which allows Southern Justice to double team Steve and double hot shot him on the top rope to get the pin! Will this get settled when they meet at Parade of Champions in a tornado match? "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "The Memphis Mafia Man" Johnny Rich w/"Cool" Carl Fergie Another match with a lot of heat as these guys have quite the brawl. Cooley hits the bulldog but Fergie interferes to cause a DQ. Cooley gets up and punches Fergie but Rich jumps him from behind and gives him a stomping before leaving. Another score to settle at Parade of Champions. Central States Champ Carlos Colon vs. TV Champ Rick Martel These two class act champions give the fans an amazing wrestling match that ends in a 20 minute draw. After the match both men shake hands and hug. The Fabulous Blondes vs. The Master G's Pretty solid and fasted paced match. Master G's are in control until Carl Fergie comes out and distracts the Ref which allows the Syndicate to come out and yank Morrow off the apron and ram him into the steel post. Wells runs over but the Blondes ambush him and hit a double suplex for the win! Once again the Blondes exit and celebrate with theatrics. The Syndicate run in the ring and nail Wells with a double gut buster! Fergie raises their arms while the fans pelt the with trash. USWA Champ Nick Bockwinkel, Adrian Adonis and Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler, Kerry Von Erich and "Bullet" Bob Armstrong These guys give the fans 50 minutes of back and forth action. In the end a pier six brawl breaks out and Armstrong rolls up Tully for the 1..2..3! Kerry back drops Bock and Bock bumps out of the ring then grabs his title and heads to the back. Meanwhile, Lawler and Adonis are brawling all over the place.
GeneJackson95
Sonny King reacts exactly as you would expect with Ayala losing the Central States title to Colon The Lawler/Adonis feud continues to get more heated each and every week….I can't wait for these two to face off at POC! Slinker has given up on finding a partner to beat American Made, now he's gone to Japan to find a team that can take them down…..this is going to be the biggest test yet for the American Made TAPED FIST MATCH!! This will be a brutal classic straight outta WWC! Looking forward to this one….I think Carlos' title reign may be short lived! Ron Bass is pissed!! That's going to be bad for somebody! The Grapplers have been great champions here in the USWA but the Movement have proven time and time again….they are not to be taken lightly….The Grapplers may have met their match this time around unless they bring somebody who can have their back at POC! Bock has all the confidence in the world….but it's tough to beat a Von Erich in Texas. Great house show with a couple of big stand out matches….namely Martel vs. Colon and that huge main event that sees Bullet Bob get a pin fall over Blanchard heading into POC which can't get here soon enough…..the definition of a MEGA SHOW! And that main event-WOW- 3 major angles hyped at once ad the crowd goes home happy. Well booked!

We're only 2 weeks away from the Parade of Champions! We have some exciting matches lined up tonight. Wendell Cooley and Rip Oliver will take on Mike Miller and Johnny Rich. Tony St. Clair puts his TV title shot on the line against Joe Lightfoot however if Lightfoot loses he must bow down to St. Clair. Kerry Von Erich returns to TV. All that and a whole lot more including a blockbuster 6 man tag as the Armstrong's take on Tully Blanchard and Southern Justice. Ok let's get to the ring as the TV champ is set for action. TV Champ Rick Martel vs. Neil Curry The fans cheer as Martel excites them with some fast paced offense. Martel eventually hits the Slingshot Splash for the victory! Martel waves to the fans as he heads to the podium. Lance: Rick, big title defense at Parade of Champions against Tony St. Clair however after tonight you may be facing Joe Lightfoot. Martel: Lance, I've been defending this title against a variety of challengers for the past 5 months so I'm ready for either man. Les Thornton has been pretty arrogant with his comments and tonight his man St. Clair might end up paying for them. Commercial Break Gino Brito Jr. vs. Trent Watkins Brito looks good tonight as he executes a shin breaker on Trent then clamps on the figure four leglock for the win. Brito cuts a promo and says he intends on winning the Parade of Champions Battle Royal and will be holding that trophy high. Lance then welcomes out the Master G's (George Wells and Gerry Morrow) Footage is shown from the Freedom Hall Civic Center as the Syndicate interfere and cost the Master G's their match with the Fabulous Blondes. Wells: Adias you made a big mistake when you turned on me and brother not even your new partner Gary Young will help you at Parade of Champions. Morrow: That's right! Adias! Young! You want to play games and cost us matches? Well at Parade of Champions let's see how things turn out when we're all face to face! Master G's vs. Todd Rooney and Gary Williams Master G's are aggressive tonight and finish things off with a double running tackle! Commercial Break "Crippler" Rip Oliver and "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "Mean" Mike Miller and "The Memphis Mafia Man" Johnny Rich w/"Cool" Carl Fergie Lot's of bad blood here. Fergie hired Miller to take out Oliver. Cooley and Rich have had an ongoing feud. The bell rings and fists are flying! Fergie is up on the apron but Oliver knocks him off. The Ref gets control. Miller nails Cooley from behind but Oliver grabs Miller by his tights and rolls him up 1..2..3! Big Pop! Fergie runs in the ring and punches Cooley but Cooley grabs him by his shirt. Rich hits Cooley from behind. Oliver heads towards Rich but Miller clotheslines him from behind. Miller and Rich put the boots to Cooley and Oliver. Fergie joins in the beating as the commercial hits. Commercial Break Lance: Ok, things have settled down. I hope those scores are settled at Parade of Champions. Coming out now is the Outlaw Ron Bass. Bass cracks the whip and Lance steps back. Lance: Now listen Bass, if you're going to do that then this interview is over ok? Bass: You're just like all these other yellow bellied cowards in the USWA! I came here for competition and now I cant even get a match for Parade of Champions. I've never seen so many cowardly wrestlers in my life! There's a commotion from the fans. Lance: Oh my, Ron Fuller! Ron, I had no idea you were going to be here today. Fuller: I made it a point after hearing Bass here talk about lack of competition last week. And here he is again this week talking about no competition and cowards. (Looks at Bass) Listen up boy! The Tennessee Stud is here and I would like to be at Parade of Champions. So why don't we lock up? Bass: Are you kidding me? Am I suppose to be intimidated? You're looking at a true and blue cowboy buddy and if you want a beating then by all means let's lock up! Fuller: (grins) It'll be my pleasure. Fuller leaves. Bass pauses then cracks the whip right by Lance. Bass: I'll crack Miss Betsy any time I want! You got that! Commercial Break Hercules Ayala w/ Sonny King vs. Vic Dutro Ayala destroys his opponent then clamps on the bear hug, rams him into the turnbuckles and belly to belly suplexes him over for the easy pin. The fans boo as Sonny King gets in the ring and tapes up Ayala's hand. Ayala picks up Dutro and knocks him down with a hard right fist! Boos as the Central States Tag Champs The Movement join Ayala and King at the podium. King: The countdown is on! Carlos Colon! That was a message sent to you. At Parade of Champions, Ayala takes back his Central States title! Speaking of Parade of Champions, Lance did you see what the Movement did to the so called champions The Grapplers last week? They left them down and out baby. Lance: Yes they did but aren't you a bit worried about who the Grapplers partner will be at Parade of Champions? I mean you're in that match as well. King: Would you be worried if you had the Movement watching your back? Of course not. We're not the least bit worried and at Parade of Champions everybody will find out just who the real champions of the USWA are! The Movement will be riding high as usual. Whatley: Grapplers! We whooped you countless times and we're gonna have a good time doing it again! Conway: The powers that be have tried and tried to keep us down but as always we come out on top! Grapplers and whoever you bring, your days are done here! King: Spoken like true champions. Commercial Break "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi vs. "The Patrolman" Dale Veasey Both men will be in the upcoming battle royal. Veasey controls early with some rough offense and almost puts Afi out with a flying back elbow smash. Afi makes a huge comeback and wins the match with a flying cross body block! Afi remains undefeated in the USWA. Afi cuts a promo and puts over The Patrolman as a threat. Afi says he cant wait for the battle royal and holding up that trophy would be a career highlight. Commercial Break Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair w/Les Thornton vs. Chief Joe Lightfoot Lightfoot wants that title shot bad and he starts off with fire as he works over St. Clair with arm drags, hip tosses and dropkicks. Lightfoot hoists St. Clair up for a vertical suplex but Thornton reaches in and trips Lightfoot. St. Clair falls on top 1..2..Lightfoot has his foot under the ropes. St. Clair gets up. Lightfoot rolls out of the ring and chases Thornton. Lightfoot refocuses and gets back in the ring but is met with a knee to the head by St. Clair. St. Clair hits a short arm clothesline and follows with a double arm floating suplex for the pin! Thornton gets in the ring and celebrates with St. Clair. Lightfoot staggers to the ropes and is on his knees. Thornton grabs the mic from the announcer. Thornton: Joseph, you put up a valiant effort but just came up short. It's now time to bow down and show respect for the man who is simply the best. St. Clair smiles and points for Lightfoot to bow. Lightfoot shakes his head and points at Thornton. Thornton: Now is the time! Are you a man of your word or are you the liar I thought you were? Lightfoot gets up but St. Clair and Thornton attack him. Thornton hits him with the mic. St. Clair stomps down on Lightfoot. Thornton grabs Lightfoot's head and forces him to bow. The fans go crazy as Rick Martel hits the ring! Thornton and St. Clair head out and warn Martel as Martel stares them down while standing over Lightfoot. Commercial Break Lance: I have to say I don't think Lightfoot should of bowed considering Les Thornton was a major distraction. I for one am glad Rick Martel came out. Well now we know Martel will be defending the TV title against Tony St. Clair. Martel better keep an eye on Les Thornton. Ok please welcome out Jerry "The King" Lawler! Massive cheers as Lawler comes out WHAM! He's nailed from behind by Adrian Adonis! The fans are going wild as these two fight all over the place! Adonis reaches in his tights and throws some substance in Lawler's face. Adonis grabs a tv cable and starts choking Lawler with it! Prelim wrestlers come out to stop the madness. Adonis drops the cable and backs up but then runs forward and nails Lawler with a stomp to the head. Lance: This has gotten out of control. We'll be right back Commercial Break Lance: Wow that was something else. Lawler was helped to the back and Adonis was escorted out of the building. At Parade of Champions I don't know if either one of them will survive that street fight. Coming out now are the USWA tag team champions The Grapplers. Ok I'm sure you have a lot to say about Sonny King and The Movement. Grappler 1: They did a number on us last week and we're still feeling it but Parade of Champions will be a night they'll never forget! Grappler 2: We've proven over and over again why we're the USWA champs and things wont change at Parade of Champions. Movement you're going to feel the pain! Grappler 1: Oh and Sonny King, just wait to you see who our partner is. Lance: Ok there you have it back to the ring. Karachi Vice vs. Harold Helms and Tom Johnston Makhan slams Helms then turns him over and hits a big splash on his back then tags in Gama. Gama applies the camel clutch and it's all over. Boos as they head to the podium. Lance: You both saw last week as Keith has joined his brother Bruce in the fight. Gama: This is fantastic news! Now we can destroy 2 Harts! We will rid them both at Parade of Champions and then Karachi Vice will rule the USWA! Makhan: Gama turned my life around and finally helped me find my true self. To pay him back I will destroy the Harts in his honor! Commercial Break Kerry Von Erich vs. Randall Reed The fans are on their feet and cheering as Kerry hits the discuss punch for the 1..2..3! Kerry pumps his fists to the cheering fans. Lance: Watch out! Nick Bockwinkel hits the ring and chops Kerry behind the knee! Bock works over the leg then drapes it on the bottom rope. Bock drops several body drops on the leg. Officials hit the ring as Bock gets up waves his arms, smiles and heads to the podium. Lance: Bockwinkel, you're suppose to conduct yourself as a champion. It looks to me like you might be worried about Kerry Von Erich. How else would you explain those cheap tactics? Bock: I am not the least bit worried. All I did was expose young Kerry Von Erich as the wrestling fraud he is. The man is weak and quite frankly doesn't deserve a shot at this prestigious title. The greatest title in wrestling. It's only fitting that the greatest wrestler which of course is me, holds the greatest title. Good day Mr. Russell. Lance: I'm not sure I agree with his logic. We'll see what happens when they meet at Parade of Champions. Our big main event when we come back. Commercial Break The Armstrong's (Bob, Scott and Steve) vs. Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll and Southern Justice It's just a brawl from the moment the bell rings. The Ref shows a lot of leniency. It's straight up back and forth for a few minutes. A pier six brawl happens. Steve and Mark Batten fight through the ropes. Scott and Brad Batten are fighting in the corner. kevinmcfl
Great show as always. Crippler" Rip Oliver and "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "Mean" Mike Miller and "The Memphis Mafia Man" Johnny Rich w/"Cool" Carl Fergie: This is such a perfect example of your ability to see things in characters that I miss. When I think of Oliver, I always think of a Crippler as the heel and Johnny Rich as the babyface. You see outside the box and always hit it out of the park. Fuller vs Bass... Love it! These two have not gotten a lot of attention of late and they really are tow huge names in 80's Wrestling! I must give credit to Blehschmidt for creating The Movement and you continuing it. They are one of the best creations this game has scene! The basically rules most of the AWA promotions last year and became a National force and now it continues in the USWA. Martel helping Lightfoot is even better than facing him. Good booking here. Karachi Vice vs Harts seems like a Stampede Special. I think this is a big one for your pecking order. Whoever comes out on top jumps up the ladder while the loser might not recover. As long as this game continues, I could watch Adonis and Lawler. I had Adonis once and had trouble writing for him. You obviously don't have that issue! Bock vs Kerry is going to be historic! It is like a fork in the road for the USWA. You can't go wrong with either direction you go but it will shape the USWA for the rest of 1985. The main event would have a TV crowd going wild and you did a nice job of keeping Tully and the Bullet hot. More great booking here! Awesome show as we get closer to the Parade of Champions
Blehschmidt
Instead of a segment by segment replay, I just want to state again how awesome it is that you find something for literally every single person on your show to do. Like seriously, how many of us have had The Batten Twins in this game and done very little with them? Here you are having them run with Tully Blanchard and be part of a main event angle. I struggle to make sure that I have all of my top guys doing something. So seriously man, kudos to you for however you pull this off. Your show is so entertaining because you make us care about everyone from Lawler to Patrolman Veasey. They all have a character and they all have something going on. Well booked, well done. I can't wait to see how things play out at Parade of Champions.
GeneJackson95
Another great tv bringing us closer to the HUGE Parade of Champions! You are the undisputed master of original tag teams in this game. Pairings I would have never thought to put together work seamlessly and you have to wonder why it never happened in real life! Oliver/Cooley vs. Miller/Rich is a great match for tv that keeps everybody hot and continues to build towards their singles matches at POC. If you can't tell by some of my past booking I'm a huge fan of the Fullers and I'm super excited to see Ron turn up here and Robert in the WWF. They are such great natural promos….and Ron Bass is an excellent opponent for the Tennessee Stud here in the USWA. Sonny King and the Movement are so super confident, I can't wait to see who the Grapplers have up their sleeves as their Mystery Partner at POC! The Sivi Afi streak continues, I assume he'll be looking for a shot at some gold soon! Great angle w/Lightfoot/St. Clair/Martel! More gas is thrown on the Lawler/Adonis fire….this match is going to be wild!! I think the Karachi Vice are going to be future tag champions…..such a great combination! Bockwinkel gets another cheap shot in Kerry leading to the huge title match at POC! Kerry is on fire in the USWA but if anyone is experienced enough to hold on to the title it's Tricky Nick! Super hot main event! Nice win for the Armstrongs, let's see if they carry that momentum to the big show!!
spaldoni
USWA TV @ The Civic Auditorium Knoxville TN 5-15-85 Lance Russell: Hello again wrestling fans and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA Network. We're just one week away from our big closed circuit event from Texas Stadium. I'm talking about the Parade of Champions. 15 tremendous matches. What a night that will be. As for tonight, we have a big showed lined up. Nick Bockwinkel and Adrian Adonis will take on Jerry Lawler and Kerry Von Erich in a blockbuster main event. Tully Blanchard will meet Steve Armstrong. Bob Brown goes one on one with Buzz Tyler. Big grudge match as George Wells will face his former partner Brian Adias. Fans lets get to the ring. The Fabulous Blondes vs. Trent Watkins and Harris Holstein Blondes are in sync and gelling well. They swing Watkins to the ropes and execute a double free fall slam then follow with a double vertical suplex for the win. The fans boo as they head to the podium. The Blondes are high fiving and hugging. Lance interrupts their celebrating by asking them about their match with The Club at Parade of Champions. After some hysterical laughing they dismiss the Club as a challenge and say they are looking ahead to some championship gold. Commercial Break "The Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller vs. Vic Dutro Last week Fuller showed up and said he'll wrestle Ron Bass at Parade of Champions. Tonight he makes his USWA in ring debut. Fuller works over Dutro then body slams him down and follows with 3 big elbow drops for the pin! The fans cheer as Fuller heads to the podium. Lance: Impressive win Ron. You look like you're ready for Ron Bass. Fuller: That's right Lance. I know Bass will bring the fight and that's exactly what I want. He's been calling everybody cowards and say they're ducking him. Bass, I'm defiantly no coward and I'm ready for a fight. Lance: Straight to the point. Back to the ring. Chief Joe Lightfoot vs. Gary Williams Lightfoot will be in the big battle royal at Parade of Champions. He gets some solid momentum as he wins the match with a tomahawk chop off the middle ropes. Commercial Break George Wells w/Gerry Morrow vs. Brian Adias w/Carl Fergie and Gary Young This all started after Wells and Adias lost the Central States tag titles. A frustrated Adias turned on Wells and joined forces with Gary Young along with Carl Fergie. George Wells went out and got his old buddy Gerry Morrow and Morrow was more than happy to help. The bell rings and the fight is on! It's a back and forth fight. Adias gets the upper hand and chokes Wells on the bottom rope. The Ref guides him back which allows Fergie and Young to get some shots in on Wells. Morrow runs over and double clotheslines them down. Adias runs to the ropes and is yelling down at Morrow. Wells staggers up. Adias turns around and Wells puts him down with a tackle 1..2..3!! Big POP! Morrow runs in and celebrates with Wells. Johnny Rich runs out and helps Fergie and Young up. They run in the ring and attack the Master G's. Adias gets up and joins in. The fans cheer as Wendell Cooley hits the ring and everybody is fighting into the commercial. Commercial Break Lance: That was something.... Fergie and Rich storm the podium. Fergie: Master G's! At Parade of Champions the Syndicate will eliminate you once and for all! As for you Wendell Nerdly, we have a challenge for you. Let's up the ante in your match with Johnny Rich. Why not make it a loser leaves town match? Rich: You got the guts boy? Cooley comes out Lance: Easy boys, easy. Cooley: Oh I'll accept but let's not stop there. If I win, Rich leaves town and so do you Fergie! Big time cheers as Fergie is stunned. Rich: Don't worry about a thing Cool Carl. I got this brother. Yea we accept! Fergie: Yea yea of course we do. Cooley smiles and exits Lance: Ok an added stipulation. Carl, you look a bit worried. Fergie: COOL Carl Fergie! COOL! Keep it up and you're going to be next nerd! Parade of Champions will be a glorious night. The Syndicate will triumph. My man Johnny Rich will send Wendell Nerdly packing and I will win 50 thousand big ones in the battle royal. Me holding up that trophy is going to be a kodak moment. Lance: (Rolls his eyes) Back to the ring American Made vs. William Hillman and Todd Rooney Kirchner hits a fallaway slam on Rooney and tags in Kernodle. Kernodle hoists him up and executes a fireman's carry slam for the pin! The fans cheer as American Made stand tall. Lance: American Made with another victory. Let's hear some pre recorded comments from Ron Slinker. The Japanese Furies stand behind Slinker with menacing looks and arms folded. Slinker: (Holding a pair of nunchucks)The countdown is on. Parade of Champions will be Slinker's revenge. Standing behind me are the most ruthless wrestlers Japan has to offer. Not only will they defeat American Made but they will make them suffer and then they will make them suffer some more. They will dismantle them body part by body part and I will relish every moment. Commercial Break Central States Champ Carlos Colon vs. Matt Franklin Right before the match starts, Hercules Ayala hits the ring with taped fists and knocks out Franklin. Colon runs over and the two start fighting! They trade fists until Ayala lowblows Colon. Ayala fires away with several taped fists on Colon's head. Officials run in. Ayala gets in a few more shots then leaves the bleeding Colon lying. Lance: My goodness. Colon is being helped out of here. We'll be right back Commercial Break Lance: Please welcome out the USWA Tag Team Champs the Grapplers. It will be you boys and a mystery partner taking on the Movement and Sonny King at Parade of Champions. Can you give any clues on your partner? Grappler 1: All I'm going to say is he's coming in for one night only and the fans in Texas are going to love it. Grappler 2: Yea and he loves beating people up just as much as we do. Movement and especially you Sonny King, we're looking to put the hurt on you! Boos as Sonny King and the Movement come out Lance: Wait a minute. Ayala already caused enough trouble, we don't need any more. King: Relax, if we wanted to waste these two masked idiots we would of already done it. Listen up! The powers that be so desperately want to get rid of the Movement that they put us in a ridiculous match. Well since the Grapplers are so scared and need a mystery partner, I have a challenge of my own. Why don't we also make this a title vs. title match? That's right, we want the USWA titles and we're going to get them. Grappler 1: That's fine by us! Now we get to beat you boys up and take away your straps! The Grapplers hold up their titles as the fans cheer. WHAM! The Movement and Sonny nail them from behind. Lance: Not again! Get help out here! The Movement and Sonny put the boots to the Grapplers. The Movement hold Grappler 1 and Sonny whacks him over the head with a USWA title belt! They hold up Grappler 2 and Sonny whacks him with the belt! Commercial Break Lance: Oh brother, I feel like I'm in the middle of a war zone. Both tag titles will be on the line in that 6 man tag match at Parade of Champions. I would be worried if I was Sonny King. Back to the ring. Bulldog Bob Brown vs. "Avalanche" Buzz Tyler Both of these men will be in the battle royal. This match isn't pretty. After Brown works over Tyler, Tyler makes a comeback. Tyler hoists Brown up and spins him around but Brown's boot hits the Ref and knocks him down. Tyler hits the running powerslam but the Ref is knocked out. Tyler gets up and checks on the Ref. TED ARCIDI hits the ring and clotheslines Tyler! Arcidi picks up Tyler and powerslams him over then leaves the ring. Brown staggers up and hits a leg drop on Tyler. The Ref crawls over 1..2..3! Commercial Break Lance: Well thanks to Ted Arcidi, Bulldog Brown gets the win over Buzz Tyler. Those men will all see each other again at the Parade of Champions battle royal. Also at the Parade of Champions Rick Martel defends the TV title against Tony St. Clair. Let's hear pre recorded from St. Clair and his manager Les Thronton. St. Clair is wearing a sparkling Union Jack colored robe while Thornton is in a sweat suit. Thornton: It's only a matter of time before Tony St. Clair shows the world what we already know and that he's simply the best. This man is a United Kingdom wrestling legend. His title reigns have lasted for years. Matter of fact he never lost the British Heavyweight Championship. He relinquished it to come over here and dominate American wrestling. Rick Martel, you're the first step in achieving greatness here. You've had a tremendous TV title run but that comes to an abrupt end at Parade of Champions. And then we may just have you bow down afterwards to show your proper respects. Lance: A very confident duo. Please welcome out the TV champion Rick Martel. Rick you just heard the comments. Your thoughts? Martel: For almost 6 months I've held this title and have defended against anyone and everyone. I want Mr. Thornton to know that I've been training hard for Tony St. Clair. I've watched tapes of all his matches and have him scouted well. I'm more than prepared and I plan on walking out of Texas Stadium with this title around my waist. Lance: That should be an outstanding match up. We'll be right back. Commercial Break Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll vs. Steve Armstrong Armstrong controls early with some high flying offense that catches Tully off guard. Tully rolls out of the ring. Steve goes out after him but Baby Doll gets in his face. Tully sneaks up from behind and sends Steve shoulder first into the steel post. Tully rolls Steve into the ring then executes the Sling Shot Suplex 1..2..3! Tully continues to put the boots to Steve but Scott Armstrong rushes out but he's nailed from behind by Southern Justice. They double team Scott on the outside. Tully picks up Steve and looks into the camera "This is for you Father Armstrong!" Tully then executes another Sling Shot Suplex! The fans roar as Bob Armstrong storms out with a chair! Southern Justice backs off as Tully and Baby Doll quickly exit. Lance: Tempers and tension is at an all time high tonight as we head into Parade of Champions. I cant imagine what our main event will be like. I guess we'll find out when we return. Buckle up fans. Commercial Break USWA Champ Nick Bockwinkel and Adrian Adonis vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler and Kerry Von Erich Lance was right. This one's a wild one! Lawler and Adonis have furious encounters as does Bock and Kerry. Kerry and Lawler get the upper hand. Kerry swings Bock to the ropes and back drops him. Bock staggers up and Kerry scoop slams him down then swings off the ropes and hits a jumping elbow drop 1..Adonis breaks it with a stomp to the head. Lawler charges and punches Adonis into the corner then hammers him down and kicks away. The Ref is trying to get Lawler back. Kerry body slams Bock then hops on the middle ropes and drops a knee but the Ref is tied up with Lawler. The Ref finally guides Lawler to his corner. Kerry military presses Bock but Adonis runs over and clips him behind the knee. Once again Lawler runs in and punches Adonis. They have a furious exchange and fight through the ropes. Kerry staggers up limping. Bock gets up and nails Kerry behind the knee and rolls him up with a handful of tights 1..2..3! Boos as Bock rolls out of the ring and grabs his title. Lawler and Adonis are still fighting as Bock takes his title and gets out of there. Lance: Bock escapes tonight but Kerry gets him one on one at Parade of Champions with the title on the line. Watch out! Lance gets out of there as Lawler and Adonis brawl to end the show. USWA presents The Parade of Champions May 23rd Texas Stadium Broadcasted on Closed Circuit TV 15 big matches! USWA Heavyweight Title Bout Nick Bockwinkel (C) vs. Kerry Von Erich Anything Goes Street Fight Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Adrian Adonis 6-Man Tag- USWA and Central States Tag Titles will be on the line USWA Tag Champs The Grapplers and ??? vs. Central States Tag Champs The Movement and Sonny King STEEL CAGE MATCH! Blehschmidt
Just a week away from Parade of Champions and things are at a fever pitch in the USWA! Fabulous Blondes are still my guys! Hoping they dispose of The Club and move on to challenge for some gold! Fuller/Bass should be a good, old fashioned brawl and those are always a good time. I think Fuller will fit in nicely here. Wow, quite a series of segments with The G's, Adias, Young, Fergie, Rich and Cooley. Awesome stuff as it heated up a ton of things for Parade of Champions, and I legit have no idea who is going away in that LLT match. American Made vs Slinker's Japanese team also has the potential to be a great knock down, drag out brawl. Damn! Grapplers and Movement is now a Title versus Title six man tag with a one night only mystery partner. Can't wait to see who shows up for that one. The Movement should probably be concerned. I like Ted Arcidi just wrecking dudes. He is going to be a force in that battle royal. Martel and St. Clair will probably be the match of the night from a technical stand point. I feel like Martel has certainly elevated the championship, but at the same time feel like it is holding him back. Martel could easily be mixing it up with the Bock, Kerry, and Tully's of the world if he wanted too. Really liking the Blanchard/Armstrongs feud. It just seems right for some reason. Still digging the fact that you've turned the Batten's into something worth a damn! Main event see's the two big matches for PoC come together and it's a brawl as expected. Bock stealing the win will only give Kerry more motivation in Texas. That card for PoC proves what I keep saying, you have something for everyone, and it's awesome Great Work Dude. You are always on top of your game.
kevinmcfl
Nice job with this one. I often find it hard to write that last show before the big one as my timing is off. Sometimes, I have nothing to cover and sometimes I got to get through to much stuff. It seems like you are all set. I love mystery partner matches! Looking forward to that one. Tully for Bob is one of the big ones I am looking forward to the most. As is Fuller vs Bass. This is one where the winner could jump up into title contention. You have done a great job of getting us ready for Bock vs Kerry. Really interested seeing which direction you go here. Lawler vs Adonis has been great and it just seems like this one is so personal that it could go on forever!
GeneJackson95
Wow...one week away from the POC and just when you think it couldn't be anymore loaded or anymore "must see" you raise the stakes even more in a couple of matches where the fans absolutely can't miss this show! Ron Fuller is making himself right at home here in the USWA and this gonna to be a brawl between him and Bass! It will be very very interesting to see who ends up leaving town between Cooley and the duo of Rich/Fergie! I would be very scared to put any money on it...and that's when wrestling is at it's the most fun for me when you truly aren't sure which way things are gonna go! The Movement raised the stakes by not only putting their belts on the line but pissing off the Grapplers even more they have no idea who the mystery partner is going to be. Bockwinkel gets a win right before the big title match....will this pump Von Erich up even more....or hurt his confidence? That match is going to be amazing! Lawler vs. Adonis could end up going all over the Stadium! No dount it will be worth the price of admission alone!
spaldoni
USWA Parade of Champions Preview w/Jerry Jarrett Jarrett: The Parade of Champions comes to you next Saturday from the Texas Stadium and will be broadcasted on closed circuit TV. Here's a rundown of the matches and how they came to be. The Club (Mike George and Art Crews) w/Arnold Skaaland vs. The Fabulous Blondes (Chick Donovan and "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal) George sought out Crews and thought they had something. They struggled a bit until Skaaland came to town and offered his expertise. They accepted and started winning. The Blondes defeated them a few times. Skaaland became frustrated with his boys and told them they needed to stay focused. Skaaland got them a rematch and The Club promised him a different outcome. The Blondes laughed at this and are looking past them and want a title shot. Battle Royal- Winner will receive 50,000 Dollars and the Parade of Champions Trophy Siva Afi, Bulldog Brown, Gino Brito Jr., Ted Arcidi, Buzz Tyler, Dale Veasey, Joe Lightfoot and coming out of retirement Carl Fergie The USWA wanted this to be something special and the win to mean something. Jarrett thinks this will be more intense with only 8 participants. American Made vs. The Japanese Furies w/Ron Slinker This all started when Sgt. Slaughter destroyed Slinker at Scores to Settle. The next couple of weeks Slinker came out on TV and bad mouthed Slaughter and said he ran him out of town. Slaughter's old friend Don Kernodle showed up and challenged Slinker. Kernodle won but Boris Zhukov ran in. Kernodle was prepared as Corporal Kirchner came out to fight with him. Over the next couple months American Made defeated Slinker and a variety of partners. A fed up Slinker went to Japan and enlisted the Japanese Furies (Yoshiaki Yatsu and Junji Hirata). Slinker made a threatening challenge and American Made gladly accepted. "The Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller vs. "Outlaw" Ron Bass Bass was originally set to face Carlos Colon in a number one contender's match. Things changed when Colon defeated Hercules Ayala for the Central States title. An irate Bass called everyone cowards and said everybody was afraid to wrestle him. A week later Fuller arrived and said he would step up and take him on. The Master G's (George Wells and Gerry Morrow) vs. The Syndicate (Brian Adias and Gary Young) w/Carl Fergie Wells and Adias were known as the Naturals and eventually won the Central States Tag Titles. They lost the titles a couple weeks later and a frustrated Adias blamed Wells and attacked him after the match. Carl Fergie talked with Adias and formed the Syndicate with Gary Young (also a former Central State tag champ). Wells came back with Morrow as his partner and these teams have been going at it since. "Crippler" Rip Oliver vs. Mean Mike Miller Miller has made quite a bit of money as a hired henchmen during his stint in the USWA. Carl Fergie interfered in a match with Oliver and Oliver put a beating on him. Fergie hired Miller and Miller did a number on Oliver. It wasn't long before Oliver demanded a one on one with Miller. Karachi Vice vs. Bruce and Keith Hart The Great Gama came to the USWA and quickly got in the ear of Mike Shaw. Shaw changed his name to Makhan Singh and credited Gama for finally being able to find his true self. Gama had a motive and that was to restart an old feud with Bruce Hart. John Quinn came in to help Hart but Karachi Vice put Quinn out of action. In came brother Keith. Karachi Vice have vowed to take the Harts out. The Harts say they're going to show the Karachi Vice what the Hart blood is all about. Tornado Match Scott and Steve Armstrong vs. Southern Justice (The Batten Twins) These teams have been a strong supporting cast in the Tully/Bullet feud. They have traded wins, battled to double DQs and double c.o.'s Jarrett hopes this match will finally put an end to this feud. Loser Leaves Town Match- Manager Carl Fergie included "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "The Memphis Mafia Man" Johnny Rich w/Cool Carl Fergie These guys engaged in a wild feud a few months ago and things seemed to settle down. It picked back up again after Cooley defeated Rich in a match to earn a TV title shot. Rich attacked Cooley after Cooley's match with TV champ Martel and things picked up right where they left off. Fergie wanted to up the ante in this match by making it a loser leaves town match. Cooley accepted on the condition that if he won, Fergie would have to pack his bags as well. TV Title Bout Rick Martel (C) vs. Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair w/Les Thornton Martel has been a fighting TV champ for almost 6 months and has defended against both heels and fan favorites. Les Thornton brought over UK wrestling sensation Tony St. Clair to show that UK wrestling is far more superior than American wrestling. For awhile St. Clair even refused to wrestle on TV saying the competition was not worth his time and the fans would have to pay to watch a man of his talent. St. Clair has picked up numerous wins and earned himself a title shot. Thornton has said that they will win the title and Martel will then bow to show his proper respects. Martel says he's studied all of St. Clair's matches and has been training hard and is more than prepared. Central States Taped Fist Title Match Carlos Colon (C) vs. Hercules Ayala w/Sonny King Both of these men are former brass knuckles champs and feuded over that title last year. The feud reignited this year over the Central States title and Colon defeated Ayala for it. A furious Ayala challenged Colon to this taped fist rematch. Just like old times. STEEL CAGE MATCH! "Bullet" Bob Armstrong vs. Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll This has been a brutal and heated feud every since Bob came in under a mask to fill in for Mr. Olympia and defeat Tully These guys have gone at it and have beaten each other up on several occasions. Tully and Southern Justice even put Bob out of action for awhile. Outside interference has been a common problem so Jarrett decided to put them in a cage and let them fight it out. 6-Man Tag- Both the USWA and Central States titles will be on the line USWA Tag Champs The Grapplers and ??? vs. Central States Tag Champs The Movement and Sonny King Sonny felt the Movement should of represented the USWA in the Crockett Cup and not the Grapplers. Things got crazy during a match on TV when Sonny interfered with a chair. Jarrett said since Sonny wanted to get involved then he will. The Grapplers were able to pick a partner and they said they have one coming in for one night only and Texas will love it. Recently on TV, Sonny issued the challenge for all titles to be on the line. Grapplers accepted then Sonny and The Movement beat them down and Sonny cracked both Grapplers over the heads with their titles belts. This should be a wild one. ANYTHING GOES STREET FIGHT! Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Adrian Adonis Last year Jerry Jarrett bought out WCCW and formed the USWA. He signed a unification match between TNT champ Lawler and WCCW champ Nick Bockwinkel. The winner would be crowned the USWA champ. Adonis interfered and costed Lawler the match and said there was no way he could watch Jarrett's golden boy represent the USWA. This goes back to when Adonis and Dick Murdoch were tag champs and got fed up with Jarrett playing favorites. Adonis walked out with Murdoch but came back for some gratification. Adonis severely injured Lawler and bragged about it. Lawler came back to wrestle Adonis at Scores to Settle but Adonis threw some burning substance in Lawler's face to get the win. Lawler returned once again to face Adonis in the Mid South Coliseum. This time Lawler was DQed for piledriving Adonis on a chair. Adonis returned and they've been fighting non stop. Jarrett sanctioned this match believing it will be the only way to resolve this feud. This one's going to get bloody. USWA Heavyweight Title Bout Nick Bockwinkel (C) vs. Kerry Von Erich Every since becoming the USWA champ, Bock has defeated all challengers. During a special TV show at the Sportatorium, Bock bad mouthed the venue, the fans and Texas. That brought out the hero Kerry Von Erich. Kerry challenged Bock to a title match but Bock said he needed to earn it. Kerry said ok let's wrestle tonight and if I win I will get a shot. Well, Kerry won and got the shot. Even though Bock remained arrogant and confident, people sensed Bock was worried about the challenge. They might have been right because Bock attacked Kerry on TV and tried to hurt his leg and weaken him. This only motivated Kerry as he was in the gym that week working out the leg. Bock has continued to bad mouth Texas and says Kerry is undeserving of a title match and doesn't conduct himself as a champion. Bock says he's a class act champ. Kerry has vowed to take the title in his home state. Jarrett: Fans I'll see you next week in Texas for the historic Parade of Champions. spaldoni
USWA The Parade of Champions Texas Stadium 5-23-85 Live on closed circuit TV Lance Russell: Hello everyone and welcome to the Parade of Champions! (Lance looks around at the stadium) Over 50,000 fans in attendance and millions watching on closed circuit as then USWA presents a historic night of wrestling. Titles will be on the line and feuds will be settled. 15 big matches lined up, so lets get to the ring for our opening match up. The Club w/Arnold Skaaland vs. The Fabulous Blondes The Club start off with aggression as they control the early moments. They swing Regal to the ropes and hit a double back body drop. Chick runs in and gets a double punch that sends him flying back to his corner. An approving Skaaland watches from the outside while waving his towel with excitement. Crews puts Regal in a hammerlock and slams him down then tags in George. George hits a running shoulder breaker 1..2..Chick drops an elbow to break it. Crews runs in and punches Chick back to his corner while Skaaland is yelling at Crews to get back to his corner. The Ref finally guides Crews back but Chick sends him through the ropes with a double axehandle to the back of the head. George goes after Chick but Regal nails him from behind. THUNDERING ROAR! Kerry releases and sits on his knees with pure joy on his face. The Ref gets the USWA title and hands it to Kerry. Kerry slowly stands up and raises the title high as 50,000 Texas fans cheer him on. Winner of the match and NEW USWA Heavyweight Champion- Kerry Von Erich! Lance: Fans what a moment. What a way to end the Parade of Champions. Kerry Von Erich is the new USWA Champion. I want to thank all the fans in attendance and the millions watching on closed circuit TV. I'll see you soon. rainmakerrtv
So much good stuff! Great way to have Studd debut ... if a trophy is won in wrestling, you know it is going to be broken over someone. The Martel-St. Clair match would have had my money, and a big shock finish. Mr. Wonderful makes his debut! Can't wait to see where he goes from here. Main event finish was perfect, I am sure the Texas fans went nuts for their boy winning the big belt. kevinmcfl
Parade of Champions was awesome! It left so many questions unanswered which would make us turn in for the next show: Like what happens next for Skaaland? What is Studd doing here? Paul Orndorff! Fuller and the Bullet...WOW! A friendly handshake from Ayala? What is that all about? What was going on with the Japanese Fury and Slinker? Some angles came to a close which again hooks us in for the next show to see what is next!. I will say that I am disappointed that the Rich/Cooley match was a Loser Leave Town Match because you have down such a great job building up these guys. I hope whoever gets Johnny Rich keeps him in the forefront as he was great as the Mafia Man. The Grapplers over the Movement and we now have double champions! Match of the night... Lawler vs Adonis. This could be over or maybe Adonis wants more. Can't wait to see. Karachi Vice just seemed too much for Bruce and Keith Hart And some angles are just so hot they can't end: Martel and St. Clair Bock vs VonErich: I wasn't 100% sure which way you were going to go here. VonErich in Texas made it seem natural but surprises keep us coming back. Either way you went, we were going to be the winners but I think Bock deserves a rematch or two! AWESOME SHOW! You put in a lot of work for this one and it paid off big time.
Wahoos Leg
An epic card from top to bottom that had a Starrcade/WrestleMania type feel Very impactful debut for Studd. I'm a little bummed to see the run of this Johnny Rich gimmick coming to a close. I dug the St Clair win and your write-up on the entire match. Very descriptive. Good stuff with the Fuller turn, which was hinted at with his vicious whipping of Bass. Fullers and Armstrongs are made to fight one another. I get this was a super long card, but on what I envisioned as a bunch of blowoffs, my only real note was the couple of super-quick matches seemed odd. Oliver running through Miller in particular. Colon-Ayala seemd like it would fit in perfectly in a stadium in Puerto Rico, and Lawler-Adonis had that tasty Memphis feel. Epic main event with Kerry Von Erich unseating the seasoned champ Bockwinkel USWA shows remain a treat, as always!
Blehschmidt
The Parade of Champions delivers big!!! My boys The Fabulous Blondes open the show with a win so big that the losers manager walks out on them! Great Start!! Sivi Afi picks up a nice win in the battle royal, but then gets destroyed by the debuting Big John Studd!! I am very excited to see what you do with Studd. Wendell Cooley finally gets the big win that's been just out of his reach here in USWA. I think he has a bright future ahead of him. Johnny Rich was fun in this role, hopefully he ends up somewhere. Glad to see the G's get a win. Like this team The reign of Martel is over! I think this is a great choice. It allows Martel to move into the main event, and it opens the TV Title up to a whole bunch of new contenders. Armstrongs get a good win against The Battens. Fuller and Bass looks to be far from over. This should turn into a fun little war!! Paul Orndorff is going to be a ton of fun here. Tully gets the win against Armstrong, but the aftermath is the story. Fuller turns, the Armstrongs are all beat up. Complete chaos! Good Stuff!! The Grapplers produce Bruiser Brody and The Movement can't handle it!! Grapplers take home both sets of belts!! Was this a unification? Glad to see Rip Oliver beat Miller. Would love to see "The Crippler" challenge for the TV Title. Ayala and Colon shaking hands! What!!! Heck of a match, but this war never ends!! Slinker's Japanese team picks up the win, but kick Slinker to the curb. Interested to see how this plays out. Lawler/Adonis delivered in a big way! Hope to see Adrian not drift into obscurity now. Karachi Vice takes out the lesser Harts, and between them, the G's, and the Blondes, several challengers for the Grapplers emerge tonight. Kerry brings home the gold in Texas! Bockwinkel had one heck of a run, but Von Erich bringing home the belt at Texas Stadium is a great moment. Those fans went home happy. Great show man. Delivered from top to bottom. GeneJackson95
It's finally here! The Parade of Champions!! The Blonds get the win and it looks like Skaaland is over it….Arnie is always throwing that damn towel! Sivi Afi wins the battle royal!! Very cool moment for him that will surely propel him up the card….until..OMG Big John Studd has arrived!! Sivi Afi's moment is spoiled and Studd made have made an enemy for life here in the USWA! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for Cooley…..but a part of me hates to see Rich and Fergie go as well as they've been used better here than perhaps anywhere else in the game, it will be interesting to see where they land next! Double shoulder tackle from the Big Master G's gets the win! If they're looking for belts, there's only one team to look for…..but that's later… Rick Martel loses the title that he's practically owned for nearly have a year in a classic match up that will be in the running for USWA Match of the Year! Big win for the Armstrongs over their rivals Southern Justice! The Battens have been fun as a heel team here and I'm sure these house matches have been some classic tag team battles. Huge brawl between Fuller and Bass…..I was kinda surprised how this one played out until….once again….we'll revisit that thought later… Mr. Wonderful has arrived! Orndorff is sure to make a splash here in the USWA, I can only imagine the Heavyweight title matches that could be happening in the near future!! Wow…..what a steel cage match! Armstrong vs. Blanchard certainly delivered and as shocked as I was when ol' Tully got the better of the Bullet, I was even more shocked when Ron Fuller nailed Armstrong with a chair…..but should I have been?? Fullers vs. Armstrongs is just a natural rivalry in the South and I can't wait to watch it play out here……I'm equally as big a fan of Ron as I am of Robert and this ride promises to be a lot of fun! Sometimes mystery partners are a let down….and other times their Bruiser F'N Brody!! I can only imagine the expressions on the Movement and Sonny King's faces when the Grapplers brought Brody out…..the fans had to have eaten up every second of it! Grapplers have all the tag gold in the USWA, it will be interesting to see what happens from here! Man, seems like Miller might have heat lol….nice win for Rip Oliver here and Miller finally gets his for all the s*** disturbing he's done in recent months. Big win for Carlos in the taped fist match…..I really though Ayala might pull it out here…..it will be fun to see who steps up to challenge Colon for the title next. The Furies get the win here over American Made but the fans still go home happy because Slinker got his and the Japanese team showed respect to the fan favorites, great creative finish….good stuff. Fans wanted to see the King and Adonis have a street fight and they got their money's worth….what a wild brawl that lived up to Memphis standards, even if we're in Texas!! The King prevails!! Don't tell anybody…..but I was rooting for the Karachi Vice! I can't wait to see them eventually tie up with the Grapplers over some titles! And then….the Main Event….after a perfectly built program…the match told an amazing story which you'd have to assume by all accounts of anyone who ever wrestled Kerry in this era had to be lead by Bockwinkel but what a great match with the result everyone in that stadium hoped to see….Kerry Von Erich brings home the gold!! Awesome show with some amazing payoffs and some exciting things around the corner…and if we've learned anything from your booking over time…..you'll have us all hooked on new crop of stars and storylines in the course of the next tv show! Great stuff bud!
spaldoni
USWA Breaking News Tully Blanchard defeated Kerry Von Erich to win the USWA Title!!!!! The match took place on Wednesday night at the Louisville Convention Center. Apparently there is no footage of the match but there was a reporter for Pro Wrestling Illustrated at ringside and this was his account. "The champ Kerry Von Erich came out on crutches before the opening bout and was extremely apologetic that due to a leg injury suffered at Parade of Champions he was not medically cleared to defend his title tonight against Tully Blanchard. That announcement brought out Tully (with a bandage on his forehead from P.O.C.) and Baby Doll. Tully took the mic and berated Kerry. Baby Doll said Kerry is no man. Kerry stepped forward on his crutches and Tully kicked one of the crutches out from under him and gave him a few stomps, then hit Kerry's leg several times with the crutch before officials ran in to break it up. After a couple matches it was announced that Kerry would defend his title tonight against Doctor's orders." "As for the match. Kerry basically fought on one leg and put up a fight until Baby Doll distracted him and Tully clipped him behind the leg. Tully slammed Kerry's leg against the steel post then Baby Doll distracted the Ref while Tully grabbed a chair and hit it on Kerry's leg. Tully hung the leg on the rope and came down with several knee drops on the leg. Tully applied the figure four. Kerry fought valiantly but ended up passing out. The fans almost started a riot as Baby Doll handed the title to Tully and Tully held it high with an arrogant smirk on his face." Stay tuned for more details of this shocking event on the next TV episode.

spaldoni
USWA TV @ The Civic Auditorium Knoxville TN 5-30-85 Highlights of the Parade of Champions and all the results are shown to Quiet Riot's Metal Health. Lance Russell: Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA network. Parade of Champions is in the books and what a tremendous success it was. So much to talk about. You all saw Kerry Von Erich's incredible win over Nick Bockwinkel to win the USWA title but unfortunately it was short lived. I want to bring out Jerry Jarrett for further details. Jarrett: Thank you very much Lance. Parade of Champions was an amazing night and I know you'll be talking about that throughout the show. Kerry Von Erich defeated Bockwinkel in an unbelievable match to capture the title but like you said it was short lived. Kerry suffered a leg injury during that match. He was scheduled to defend the title on Wednesday night against Tully Blanchard in Louisville. Kerry was not medically cleared to wrestle. I was going to give him a couple weeks off for further evaluation. There is no footage of what happened that night but my understanding is Tully and Baby Doll goaded Kerry into a match and Kerry being the fighter he is decided to defend... Thundering Boos as Baby Doll escorts a cocky Tully to the podium. Tully arrogantly struts around the podium with the title. Tully puts the title on his shoulder and soaks in the moment. Tully: Well, well, well here we are after Parade of Champions and look who's standing out here with the title. (BOOS) Oh Jerry, your nightmare is happening isn't it? You tried so hard to keep me from this title but yet here I am! So typical that you and Lance are out here crying about poor Kerry Von Erich when instead you should of congratulated me from the start. Jarrett: Tully you are the champion and that decision stands but I understand there was a lot of controversy that night in Louisville. Unfortunately there is no footage. Tully: There was no controversy whatsoever! It was simple. Kerry's win over Bockwinkel was a fluke and I proved Bockwinkel right when he said Kerry was undeserving of being a champion. Where's Kerry now? I sent him home with his tail between his legs. Enough about that. You're looking at a real man, a real champion. I deserve this and there's nothing you can say or do about it. Jarrett: You're right. You now represent the USWA and you are now our champion. So Tully, congratulations. Jarrett sticks out his hand and Tully slaps it away. Jarrett: Ok that's fine. Let me take this time to announce that the number one contender for your title is Jerry Lawler and you will defend that title against Lawler next Saturday night at the Hammond Civic Center. Massive cheers Tully: Wow big surprise. Your golden boy Lawler is the number one contender. Let me tell you something and that second rate jester Lawler something. This title is going to stay with me for a very long time. I hope you're in attendance that night and watch as I humiliate and put your golden boy down. Tully Blanchard is taking the USWA to heights you never dreamed of. Something Kerry Von Erich or Jerry Lawler aren't capable of doing. Let's go Baby Doll, we have more celebrating to do. Lance: Ok, that was a lot to take in. Next week at the Hammond Civic Center, Tully defends the USWA title against Jerry Lawler. We'll hear from Lawler later from his home. Fans I'll let you soak all that in while we go to a commercial break. Commercial Break "Sweet" Norvell Austin vs. Gary Williams Norvell makes his debut tonight as he comes to the ring wearing long purple wrestling pants, and a fedora hat. The fans are into his charisma. Norvell swings Williams to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash then swings off the ropes and hits a jumping elbow drop. Norvell hops on the middle ropes and comes down with a flying leg drop to get the win. Norvell makes his way to the podium as the fans cheer. Norvell: Oh Lance I'm feeling oh so good tonight baby! I'm here in the USWA to make some green baby and to get some gold! Get ready because Sweetness is here and I'm ready to go! Lance: HA HA ok, Norvell Austin has arrived. Speaking of arrivals, tonight we'll be seeing a man who made quite an impact at the Parade of Champions Battle Royal. I'm talking about Big John Studd. He's coming up next. Commercial Break Big John Studd vs. Trent Watkins Studd is all over Trent as he just throws him all over the place. Studd finally puts him out of his misery with a Double Armed DDT! The fans boo as Studd casually walks over the top rope and heads to the podium. Lance: We all saw what you did to Siva Afi after he won the battle royal. My goodness you smashed the trophy over his back. Just what was that all about? Studd: None of those men belonged in that battle royal! That island boy didn't win anything because he didn't have to face a giant like me. I'm the true giant in wrestling and now everybody in the USWA knows that! That boy should go back home and eat a banana. Lance: Alright, that's enough. I know Siva Afi will be back and he's going to be gunning for you. Studd: Is that suppose to intimidate me? If he's stupid enough to come back then I'll be sure to send him back to the islands for good! Studd exits to boos. Lance: Ok switching gears. Jerry Lawler is at home recovering from a concussion he suffered at Parade of Champions. Lawler ended his long and brutal feud with Adrian Adonis as he put him down in a wild street fight. Let's hear Lawler's thoughts on his upcoming title match with Tully Blanchard. Lawler is sitting on a couch at his home. Lawler (bandage on his forehead) Well you can say I literally got my bell rung at Parade of Champions but in the end the King prevailed. I'll be back on TV next week. Now I was informed by Jerry Jarrett that I was named the number one contender. Just yesterday I found out I will be facing Tully Blanchard. Tully I heard the controversy and brother I believe every word. I know you think you're riding high but I'm going to bring you back down to reality when I beat you and take that title! It's time for a King's reign. Commercial Break Lance: Fans we all saw the despicable actions of Ron Bass at Parade of Champions and what he did to our official. I understand Bass has been suspended from the USWA. Speaking of Parade of Champions, my next guess has a lot of explaining to do. Big time boos as Ron Fuller and the Syndicate (Adias and Young) come out. Lance: I hope all of you are proud. You put Bob Armstrong and his son Steve in the hospital. Ron Fuller, why would you do that cowardly act? Bob just fought a brutal match with Tully Blanchard in the cage and you attack him with a chair. Fuller: Let me stop you right there Lance. I want to be real clear. Bob Armstrong and I have unfinished business. Parade of Champions was just a ploy to get me in the door. I knew that would be my night and Bob Armstrong was going to be reminded of what a Fuller is capable of. Come on Bob, did you really think we would co exist here? I always knew you were dumb. This goes way back and I'm here to end this feud for good. Now, Bob has his brat sons running around so I needed a stable. Well it seemed the Syndicate had just lost their manager Carl Fergie. I saw opportunity and I capitalized on it. And now little Stevie is out of commission. That's a shame. Bob, if you and any other of your brat sons want some more than you know where to find us. Lance: Well it just so happens that they do and here's what I'm talking about. Brad Armstrong is standing in a hospital hallway. Brad: Ron Fuller! I guess this just wont end. You opened up old wounds and now you and your goons are going to pay. My father will be back in no time, trust me. I talked with my brother Scott and we're coming and we're coming for you! Get ready for some Armstrong payback! Lance: Ok, Brad and Scott are on their way and you're the targets. I'm sure Bob wont be far behind. Fuller: (laughs) Those hotheads will never get to me, not with the Syndicate standing in their way. As for Father Bob. Every moment you're in that hospital bed healing, you think of me boy. Commercial Break Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Vic Dutro Yatsu puts on a awesome display of suplexes before finishing Dutro off with a sitout powerbomb! The fans and Lance are excited when American Made comes out and meets Yatsu at the podium. Kernodle: At Parade of Champions, this man Yoshiaki Yatsu showed us what class is all about. Kirchner: That's right. That slime Slinker thought he got the last laugh but it was obvious he didn't. Yoshiaki Yatsu has earned our full respect and if there's anything we can ever do for you just let us know. Kernodle and Kirchner shake Yatsu's hand and Yatsu bows to them. Yatsu bows to Lance and says "I want to bring honor to the ring" Commercial Break TV Champ Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair w/Les Thornton vs. William Hillman Thornton relishes every moment as he holds up the TV title. St. Clair simply outclasses his opponent before finishing him off with a floating butterfly suplex! Boos as Thornton leads St. Clair to the podium. Lance: Well Rick Martel's long and successful run as TV champ came to end end at Parade of Champions. Tony, congratulations. Les: We don't need that from you. We did what we said we were going to do. Tony St. Clair proved with out a shadow of a doubt that he is the greatest wrestler in the world. He soundly defeated the great Rick Martel and here he is representing USWA television. You see what this man does in the ring. He's a pure technician. There's nobody that can go toe to toe with him. Nobody can match his style and technique. It all comes down to this, Tony St. Clair is simply the best. St. Clair: Thank you for the flattering words Les. You came to me with a plan and we did it. I showed Rick Martel and the world that United Kingdom wrestling is superior to any other wrestling on the face of the earth. So to all the so called contenders out there, take a shot because after I'm done with you you wont want another. Commercial Break The Club (Mike George and his new partner Steve O) vs. Willie Lopez and Curtis Jackson George and Steve come out with matching shiny yellow boxing style robes with 'The Club' written in black letters on the back. George hits a running shoulder breaker on Lopez then tags in Steve. Steve gets on the top rope as George holds Lopez in an armbar. Steve comes down with a knee to the shoulder to get the pin! Lance: Come on over boys. Very nice win. So Mike, what's going on here with your new partner Steve Olsonoski? Mike: Well Lance, after Art Crews and myself lost at Parade of Champions, everybody saw our manager Arnold Skaaland throw his towel at us and walk out. Art was pretty distraught about the whole thing and told me he needed some time away. I completely understand and Art, best wishes buddy, get things together. Now I've been in this business a long time and every wrestler goes through a slump. I want to get back on track so I called my old friend Steve O and he was more than excited to come here and join me. Steve, welcome to the Club. Steve: Thank you Mike and it feels good to be teaming up and taking care of business in the ring. We have some gr.... Boos as Arnold Skaaland walks out. Arnold: Oh Mike, Mike, Mike Mike. Here you go again. You just don't know when to quit do you? It's time to cut your losses and head out. You're a pretty good wrestler but its obvious your best days are behind you. Steve, be smart and just walk away before your career disappears. Mike: Be careful Arnold. What's done is done and we can part ways but just watch yourself. Arnold: Relax, I actually like this fire you're showing. It's about damn time. I'll tell you what. I have been talking with a couple of extremely talented wrestlers and they are the real deal. Matter of fact I'm calling them the Elite. Why don't we have a little match next week, here on TV. My new team needs a little tune up and why not against you two? Steve: Mike, I've got your back. Arnold, You want a match against us? Set it up! Arnold smirks at them and puts his towel on his shoulder then walks away. Commercial Break USWA and Central States Tag Team Champs The Grapplers vs. Larry Jones and Todd Rooney Grapplers destroy their opponents and of course the finish sees Grappler 1 hoist Rooney up as Grappler 2 nails him with a flying clothesline from the middle ropes! It's a cool visual to see the Grapplers hold up both sets of titles. Lance: Ok Grapplers come on over. You now hold both sets of titles and have ridded the USWA of Sonny King and The Movement. Grappler 1: A big thank you to Bruiser Brody. The look on Sonny King's face at Parade of Champions was priceless. Grappler 2: And it feels so good to have both sets of titles! It proves what we already know, we're the best! Boos as Karachi Vice comes out. Gama: You come out here and make false claims. You make us sick! You can not claim to be the best when you have not faced the Karachi Vice! You saw what we did to the Harts. That is nothing compared to what we do to you! Makhan: We are demanding a shot! You don't stand a chance! Grappler 1: Anytime anyplace! Karachi Vice have some evil smiles as they leave. Lance: Ok, looks like we just saw the Grapplers next opponents. Commercial Break Central States Champ Carlos Colon vs. Roy Glader Colon has a bandage on his head from his taped fist match with Ayala at Parade of Champions. Colon looks great as he wins the match with a flying body press. Lance: Well Carlos, you and Ayala had another war and in the end he shocked everybody and myself included when he shook your hand. Colon: Yes I was taken off guard as well. I commend him on that act of sportsmanship. When it's all said and done we are both fierce competitors. Lance: I understand you're heading for a 2 week tour of Japan. Next week we will have some footage as you will take on the very dangerous Tiger Jeet Singh. Colon: Yes, I'm very much looking forward to my trip to Japan and to compete against Tiger Jeet Singh. He's a very dangerous man but after my battles with Ayala, I'm ready. Commercial Break A vignette is shown. Smugglers Blues is playing as a Ferrari drives up to a club. Out steps a man wearing white pants, a red Hawaii shirt with a couple buttons unbuttoned showing off his gold chains. He takes off his sunglasses, smiles and looks in the camera. "Vinnie Valentino is the name but you can call me the Vin Man. I hear the USWA is in need of some style and charisma. Well look no more because the Vin Man is coming. I'm not some square like Gino Brito. To many of those types running around. No sir, the Vin Man is young, energetic and full of pizazz. Get ready because the Vin Man is on his way!" A few girls run up to him as he puts his arms around them and walks into the club. "Crippler" Rip Oliver vs. Dave Peters Oliver is on fire as he back drops Peters then hops on the middle ropes. Peters staggers up and Oliver puts him down with a flying forearm blast 1..2..3! Lance: Rip Oliver picks up another win. Before we get to our feature bout, I want to run down what's in store for next week. We're going to have a new segment called the Beauty Shop hosted by Brenda Britton. That should be interesting. Listen to this, Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff will make his televised debut. Rock N Roll RPM's are coming to the USWA. Wendell Cooley will be in action as will the Master G's. Whoa wait a minute, Dick Slater! What are you doing here? Slater: Whatever I want! Dick Slater is here and serving notice. I want titles and Carlos Colon your title is on my radar boy! It's as good as mine! Slater leaves. Lance: Wow I wasn't expecting that. Our feature bout coming up. Commercial Break Chief Joe Lightfoot vs. "The Foreman" Spike Huber Lightfoot is in the ring as Huber enters in full on construction gimmick. Blue jeans, boots, flannel shirt with cut off sleeves, hard hat and a sledge hammer. Pretty good back and forth match up as the tide turns several times. Lightfoot shines as he dropkicks Huber down. Huber gets up and Lightfoot hits another dropkick. Lightfoot picks up Huber for a slam but Huber's foot knocks the Ref down. Lightfoot doesn't see it and slams Huber down then swings off the ropes and comes down with a flying chop. Lightfoot covers then sees the Ref is down. Lightfoot goes to check on the Ref. Huber rolls out of the ring and grabs his sledgehammer. Huber sneaks back in the ring and drops it down on Lightfoot's back. Huber tosses the hammer and wakes up the Ref then covers as the fans boo 1..2..3! Lance: That was terrible. I expected better from Spike Huber. Spike why did you do that? Huber holds up the sledgehammer as the fans boo. Huber: Because I'm the foreman which means I'm the boss and I get things done by any means necessary! Lance: That's disappointing. Fans I'll see you next week. Here's a video of Paul Orndorff to end the show. A video is shown of Orndorff hitting the weights hard to John Mellencamp's "Crumblin Down" Mr. Wonderful comes to the USWA next week!
