Matt D Posted September 16, 2019 Report Posted September 16, 2019 I've thought about this a bit, and I think it's in their interest to push Corbin really hard between now and the first Smackdown so that he does something detestable enough on that show to get massive, massive heat. That's the show all the execs will be watching and having some amazing reaction (especially if it leads to an upset where he gets his comeuppance) is probably worth as much as anything that they can get out of tonight's match. You can even have him screw a babyface in the first hour then be made to defend his crown against Gable in the second or something and put over Gable then.

I don't mind Corbin (even if I don't think he's better than Rusev), but it would be nice to see a new star made.

Thing is that the King character doesn't really fit a straight up babyface like Gable, and Corbin's shit talk is incredible. They have to set up Gable for something, though.
