The opening match is the first match of the tournament, and it starts shortly after, with Velvet McIntyre facing Leilani Kai. Each woman knows that they need to balance securing a victory here with conserving enough strength for the main event, so the result is a highly tactical bout with a lot of hesitation followed by bursts of activity. Whilst each wrestler gets some time to shine and a chance to show of their signature move, Velvet McIntyre remains firmly in control for most of the match. Only a pin with her feet on the ropes comes close to getting Leilani Kai the win but the television champion powers out of it. Velvet McIntyre defeats Leilani Kai in 14:55 by pinfall after a swinging hurricanrana to secure a spot in the main event A brief sponsored video then brings us through to the first set of interviews. Leilani Kai has her stable surround her and massage her ego with tall tales of a biased referee, refusing to answer any questions from the interviewer that she doesn’t like the sound of. Velvet McIntyre struggles to hide her giddy anticipation in her interview and she promises to win in the main event. We then move on to the second tournament match – which doubles as a title match of its own – as Wendi Richter attempts to defend her newly won championships from Medusa Miceli. In stark contrast to the previous match, this one is intense and violent from start to finish. It becomes apparent very early on that Medusa Miceli is paying no mind to the main event and simply wishes to brutalise Wendi Richter here and now. At various points, the match resembles a barroom brawl and both women do things that would get them disqualified in any other context. Here, however, the referee is reluctant to let an important match like this end cheaply. The finish showcases the veteran instincts of Wendi Richter. Medusa Miceli manages to get her up for a German suplex but fails to bridge. When she goes for a lateral press, however, Wendi Richter has already rolled out of danger and onto the ringside floor. When Medusa Miceli is between the rooms, in a vulnerable position, the champ strikes and pulls her violently to the ground, before delivering two powerbombs in quick succession. The challenger is then dragged into the ring for a pin. Wendi Richter defeats Medusa Miceli in 21:03 by pinfall after a powerbomb to retain the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship and secure a spot in the main event Another sponsored video then serves as a transition to the interviews. Medusa Miceli is initially beaten and despondent but cheered up by the arrival of Velvet McIntyre who consoles her. Wendi Richter is extremely irritable and promises to brutalise her opponents in the main event. We are then taken to the final tournament match, as Lisa Moretti takes on Rhonda Singh. The contest is very traditional, as Rhonda Singh delivers big moves and strong strikes but is just as often outpaced and outwrestled. Lisa Moretti employs her new defensive style to great effect and enrages her opponent with a seemingly endless array of escapes and reversals. Reggie Bennett does a lot of work at ringside but it’s not enough to secure her partner the victory. The finish sees Rhonda Singh run at her opponent, only to have her momentum used against when Lisa Moretti manages to transform the sequence into a powerslam. Lisa Moretti defeats Rhonda Singh in 13:47 by pinfall after a powerslam to secure a spot in the main event Predictably, Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett are not willing to let things go and immediately begin attacking the victor. Wendi Richter sees a perfect opportunity and storms down to the ring, only to be blindsided by the cavalry – in the form of Velvet McIntyre, Medusa Miceli and Debbie Combs – and knocked down. Eventually half the roster is filling up the ring and involved in a massive chaotic brawl. A few music videos are then played for the at-home audience whilst staff get things under control. After that we’re finally able to move on to the next match, with the Nasty Girls facing a challenge from Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan. From the outset the match is competitive back-and-forth with a familiar narrative, namely that the heels are a better overall unit, but Misty Blue Simmes is the better individual competitor. We get near falls galore in the finishing stretch, making it obvious that this is anyone’s game. In the end, it seems to be a matter of Misty Blue Simmes being in the right place at the right time as she’s able to dodge a spear from Linda Dallas that instead connects with Kat LeRoux and sends her to tumbling to the floor. Without a moment’s hesitation, Misty Blue Simmes capitalises. Misty Blue Simmes & Heidi Lee Morgan defeat Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux in 19:45 when Misty Blue Simmes pins Linda Dallas after a belly-to-back suplex to win the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship A hype package for the main event then plays before we get to the interviews. The Nasty Girls immediately demand a rematch and refuse to answer any questions. The faces, for their part, are over-the-moon and giddily sprint through the interviewer’s questions. We then head to the main event. Each woman gets an entrance but the small amount of pyro on hand is reserved for Debbie Combs, who comes out last. With a small number of participants, the normal strategy of a battle royal doesn’t really apply, and the match starts off as a free-for-all brawl. Lisa Moretti and Wendi Richter do display a particularly strong animus, however. We get big moves from each woman, including what would otherwise be match-enders, long before even the first person has been eliminated. Indeed, we reach the twenty-minute mark before Debbie Combs is thrown up and over by an extremely brief three-way alliance that breaks down just as soon as it’s formed. With the champ out, the match is thrown wide open. Velvet McIntyre becomes overconfident, however, and flies at Wendi Richter, who holds the top rope down and lets her collide violently with the floor. The rest of the match then plays out traditionally, with Lisa Moretti and Wendi Richter both desperate to hurt each other as much as to win. The finish comes with both of them tied up in the ropes and at risk of toppling over. In the confusing tangle of limbs, it’s Lisa Moretti who manages to extricate herself and give Wendi Richter a nudge over the top. Lisa Moretti defeats Debbie Combs and Velvet McIntyre and Wendi Richter in 32:01 in an over-the-top-rope battle royal to win the NWA World Women’s Championship We end on a shot of the victor on the verge of tears as she’s handed her title. Richter looks to top her by become a triple champ. Simmes & Morgan's meteoric rise to the top of the Tag ranks is complete. Richter and Medusa tear it up. Nice win for Richter as she earns a main event spot. Moretti's incredible comeback story continues with a big win over the monster Singh. The heat is on between Moretti and Richter. Misty and Heidi have been the hottest team in WWW. It all pays off, because tonight, they become champs! Huge main event! These 4 woman were on their A games and gave the fans a ton of excitement. The finale couldn't have played out better. You have a great grasp of where your bread is buttered and here we got to see many of the big stars multiple times. Big night for Moretti but the stars were all this great card! Misty Blue gets a tag title, Richter wins two titles and almost 3! Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett would be one women's team that would scare a lot of men! You could do so much here. The opening match is the traditional television title contest, with Brittany Brown challenging Velvet McIntyre. In what should’ve been an easy win for Velvet McIntyre, the champion appears distracted and hesitant. The commentators speculate that this is related to her failure to capture the world title as she makes mistake after mistake. In the end, it takes multiple near falls to shake the champ out of it, and she turns the tide with a sequence of moves in the finishing stretch that result in a three count – one that Brittany Brown kicks out of just half a second too late. Velvet McIntyre defeats Brittany Brown in 12:23 by pinfall after a swinging hurricanrana to retain the WWW Television Championship A brief video interlude takes us to the interviews. Brittany Brown is joined by her tag team partner Ashly Kennedy and speaks excitedly, almost as though she had won, about her performance, confidently predicting that she’ll be able to snatch the title on her second attempt. Velvet McIntyre, comparatively, struggles to explain her poor performance and simply claims that she won and “That’s all that matters.” A commercial break then takes us to some tag team action, with Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett taking on the Star Girls. The faces begin the match supremely confident, on account of their opponents’ rocky start, but are rudely awakened by the sheer power of the former Monsters. Rockin’ Robin and Jamie West are able to avoid a complete rout through the use of well-timed tandem offence and tactically minded tags in and out but for the majority of the match they are tossed around from pillar to post and battered mercilessly. In the end, Rockin’ Robin is unable to recover from having Rhonda Singh’s body weight dropped on top of her. Rhonda Singh & Reggie Bennett defeat Rockin’ Robin & Jamie West in 14:51 when Rhonda Singh pins Rockin’ Robin after a splash Predictably, Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett do not head back after their victory, and simply continue their assault, dragging Jamie West into the ring and brutalising both women until a horde of staff members and babyfaces can come to their rescue. They burn through their interview time, and we go straight from a sponsored video to a traditional commercial break. We return to find the cage already erected and the six women in the main event raring to go at each other. Before the bell even sounds, the match has already descended into pure anarchy. Every single woman in the match has something to prove and the best way to prove it is beat their opposition to a bloody pulp. For most of the match, the fighting is back-and-forth, chaotic but fairly even. Eventually, however, Wendi Richter produces a difference maker – a pair of brass knuckles hidden in her spandex. She then goes to town on all three of her opponents, which is when blood begins to enter the picture – no gushing torrents, of course, but red stains on hands, hair and faces and various parts of the mat. Debbie Combs manages to knock the foreign object out of the ring at one point but by that time, she and her fellow babyfaces have begun to show serious signs of fatigue. All it takes after that is a handful of powerbombs, the final one being on Babyface Nellie, elevated and assisted by the Nasty Girls for maximum impact. Wendi Richter & Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux defeat Debbie Combs & Misty Blue Simmes & Babyface Nellie in 17:44 when Wendi Richter pins Babyface Nellie after a powerbomb to retain the WWW Trios Championship With no time to spare, we simply end on a shot of the immediate aftermath of the match’s bloody carnage. * P.S. I like the simple match results sometimes with the extra boost of what happened. A six-woman cage match for the titles. I would be intrigued to say the least. I am still working on some of the names here but I am getting more familiar. I am excited to see how the blues come back from a pretty rough night. The contest is fast and furious from the very start, with both teams correctly interpreting their opponents as a serious threat. Whilst the faces have the experience advantage and show it off with well-timed tags and double-team moves, the commentators point out that Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett appear to have almost entirely overcome their initial problems with miscommunication. The finish sees Winona Little Heart and Susan Starr forced to go high-risk in order to beat the strength advantage of the former Monsters. Their tandem offence ends with both of them snatched out of the air and slammed down. Rhonda Singh & Reggie Bennett defeat Winona Little Heart & Susan Starr in 14:03 when Rhonda Singh pins Winona Little Heart with a side slam A hype package for the main event then plays before we get to the interviews. The Giant Slayers use their interview to talk up the chances of Desiree Petersen beating Luna Vachon in the next match and try not to dwell on their loss. The heels simply declare themselves ready for a world title match, specifically claiming that they’ll snap Heidi Lee Morgan like a twig. A commercial break then takes us to the match between Desiree Petersen and Luna Vachon. The two women are wary of each other and hesitant to take risks in the early goings of the match but once Desiree Petersen demonstrates her technical superiority things heat up, with Desiree Petersen emboldened by her competitive advantage and Luna Vachon driven by desperation to pull off an upset. Eventually, however, Luna Vachon proves simply incapable of stemming the tide. Desiree Petersen defeats Luna Vachon in 09:47 by submission with a Boston crab We then get yet another hype package for the main event before moving on to the interviews. Luna Vachon rants incoherently about the breakup of the Monsters and eventually decides that all of her problems start and end with Medusa Miceli, a woman she promises to get her revenge on. Desiree Petersen revels in her victory and floats the idea that she’s now in line for a title match. A commercial break then brings us through to the main event, a triple title match. Wendi Richter doesn’t milk her entrance this time, however, and pre-empts the bell with a Lou Thesz press. Velvet McIntyre begins the match on the backfoot and stays on the defence throughout. The match features a lot of crowd interactions as the pair battle around the ringside area. We see a signature spot from Wendi Richter as she delivers a powerbomb on the outside at around the halfway mark. It takes all of her strength for Velvet McIntyre to kick out at two and the frustration of her opponent is just about the only serious opening she’s seen all match and she tries with all her might to turn into something. After two near falls, however, Velvet McIntyre is utterly spent. She briefly considers escaping with her title on a count out loss but instead chooses to go down fighting, punching savagely at Wendi Richter’s head as she’s brought up and sent down for a powerbomb. Wendi Richter defeats Velvet McIntyre in 16:55 by pinfall after a powerbomb to win the WWW Television Championship and retain the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship After a brutal match, we end on a shot of the champ, barely able to stand as she spits venom at the crowd. * P.S. We then move onto another tag team opener, with the Nasty Girls taking on Lady Apache and Vicky Carranza. The heels spend the first few minutes in complete control and end up treating the match like a joke. When Lady Apache manages to kick out of a big double team finishing manoeuvre, however, they’re sufficiently panicked into treating the contest more seriously. The result is an extremely dirty and violent turn that ultimately comes back to bite them. When her partner is being brutalised by Linda Dallas, Vicky Carranza eventually realises that her attempts to get the referee’s attention are playing into her opponents’ hands. Instead, she holds her hand up and backs off. The referee then turns just in time to see Kat LeRoux crack Lady Apache across the back with a steel chair after being dumped outside. Lady Apache & Vicky Carranza defeat Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux in 13:45 by disqualification The heels are shocked when the bell rings and break into hysterics, desperately arguing with the referee. When their efforts prove fruitless, they lose their temper and attack the faces. The assault eats through the interview time and requires intervention from Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan to bring to an end. A commercial break then takes us through to the start of our main event. The entrances are preceded by a hype package and a brief rundown of the rules. After a dramatic entrance from Wendi Richter, the first half of the match plays out very similarly to last week’s encounter. Velvet McIntyre shows far too much hesitation, making stupid mistakes at crucial moments, and it costs her the first point after a nasty powerbomb. Once that pinfall is on the board, however, a fire is lit somewhere deep down and she shifts into overdrive. Shortly before the commercial break, Velvet McIntyre launches into a flurry of offence, with strikes that Wendi Richter finds impossible to block or dodge. When we return the fighting has become more even sided but the champ has a bloody lip and looks exhausted. Within minutes, the challenger manages to even the score with three-count of her own. After that, the pair battle ferociously as the clock winds down. Technically, Wendi Richter could safely try to avoid getting pinned and let the match tie, but she appears to want a victory just as badly as Velvet McIntyre. We have just ten seconds left on the clock when the third fall comes. Unfortunately for the challenger, it comes after another powerbomb from the triple champion. Wendi Richter defeats Velvet McIntyre in 30:00 with a score of 2 – 1 in an ironman match to retain the WWW Television Championship and the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship With the rare opportunity for interviews after the main event, we transition to them with an advert for the supercard hawking the VIP tickets. Velvet McIntyre is on the verge of tears throughout, eventually comforted by the appearance of Medusa Miceli, and promises to rethink her strategy and train more effectively. Trudy Adams, with her partner Goldie Ray at her side for moral support, makes her debut against Wendi Richter. The challenger makes a good impression with the crowd as a smiley babyface but faces an irrepressible opponent. Within minutes, the champ has neutralised her. What ensues is essentially ten minutes of torture. With only occasional bursts of offence, Trudy Adams is battered from pillar to post. Wendi Richter is clearly intent on proving a point ahead of the supercard, which is that she can easily win two matches on the same night – the task being asked of her here and on Saturday. When the finish comes, it’s practically a mercy. Wendi Richter defeats Trudy Adams in 10:32 by pinfall after a powerbomb to retain the WWW Television Championship A hype package for the supercard then plays before we get to the interviews. Trudy Adams tries to remain defiant, and Goldie Ray points out that she had a very difficult first match, and she promises to one day be capable of going toe to toe with the champ. Wendi Richter makes a big deal of apparently having not even broken a sweat, berates her opponent and promises to add yet another title to her collection on Saturday. We cut to a commercial break before getting to our first tag team match, this one between the teams of Lady Apache and Vicky Carranza and Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett, for the opportunity to challenge the tag team champions at the supercard. This match is far more competitive than the last. The former Monsters are initially taken off-guard by the skill and determination of their opponents and only a few big moves prevent them from being completely routed. As the match wears on, however, the size and strength of the heels turns the tide, and the faces are eventually reduced to exhaustion from both the moves they’ve taken and the energy they’ve had to exert to get their opponents off their feet. Rhonda Singh & Reggie Bennett defeat Lady Apache & Vicky Carranza in 13:02 when Rhonda Singh pins Vicky Carranza after a splash A music video promoting the main event of the supercard – Lisa Moretti versus Wendi Richter – then transitions us to the interviews. Lady Apache and Vicky Carranza console themselves with their solid performance and pledge to continue building a credible strategy. Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett are fairly subdued this time around, mainly trying to disguise how close they came to losing but manage to reiterate their threat to destroy Heidi Lee Morgan. The second commercial break then brings us to the main event. With Kat LeRoux in their corner, the heels have a clear advantage. Combined with distrust and miscommunication between the faces, this leads to Wendi Richter and Linda Dallas dominating the first half of the match. Eventually, however, this translates to a cocky attitude, especially on the part of Wendi Richter, who pays for it dearly. A double team sequence, with Medusa Miceli catching Wendi Richter with a drop toe hold and Lisa Moretti dropping a leg across the back of her neck, turns things around and the last five minutes are a fierce back-and-forth. The end, Kat LeRoux gets up on the apron only to be brutally knocked down, along with her partner, by a spear from Lisa Moretti. Wendi Richter, denied the tag she was desperate for, is then thrown up and over for the win. Singh & Bennett get their well-earned title match at the next supercard. If I were Morgan, I would be "remembering" a very urgent appointment i have on the same night that can *not* be rescheduled. Hot main event as Medusa scores the big fall on Richter. This could throw Richter off a bit at the Supercard, but I think it's only going to piss her off more. The Supercard is going to be explosive! Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett are challenging Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan for the tag titles. The match has a familiar beat, as Misty Blue Simmes remains a cut above her opponents but the inexperience Heidi Lee Morgan struggles when she’s on her own. This time around, the heels are in-sync, and the contest is very even-sided as a result. We get a lot of big moves and even a bit of brawling around the ring halfway through the match that ends in a devastating splash from Rhonda Singh onto Misty Blue Simmes on the ringside floor. With a weakened Misty Blue Simmes, Heidi Lee Morgan is placed in a difficult position. She performs admirably against Reggie Bennett, clearing internalising a lot of advice given to her by her partner over the last few weeks, but once Rhonda Singh tags, in she folds. A hot tag to Misty Blue Simmes promises to turn the tide but her bruised torso fails her when she connects with a crossbody – though both women go down she’s obviously in far more pain. The finish comes when Rhonda Singh is able to get to her feet and deliver another brutal splash. Rhonda Singh & Reggie Bennett defeat Misty Blue Simmes & Heidi Lee Morgan in 19:01 when Rhonda Singh pins Misty Blue Simmes after a splash to win the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship Though pleased with their titles, the heels are not done, and they proceed to beat down on their opponents, culminating in Rhonda Singh cracking Heidi Lee Morgan’s back over her knee. A legion of staff then rushes in and a spotlight video for Wendi Richter transitions us to the next match. With Debbie Combs going up against Candi Devine, the commentators speculate that this match has been made to keep Debbie Combs satisfied with her lack of a title match. Their theory that Candi Devine is an easy opponent proves correct as the match progresses. Though she has Penny Mitchell in her corner to give her advice and help her cheat, Candi Devine is not able to pose a serious threat to Debbie Combs. The babyface does not let her opponent’s dirty tactics go unpunished and her desire to prove a point is, at times, the only thing that keeps the match going. Debbie Combs defeats Candi Devine in 14:25 by pinfall after a neckbreaker A promotional video for the VIP tickets, showing giddy children meeting the babyfaces for autographs, plays before we get to the interviews. Candi Devine is joined by Penny Mitchell and they, of course, accuse Debbie Combs of cheating and generally behave petulantly whilst selling the chances of Penny Mitchell beating Velvet McIntyre later tonight. Debbie Combs complains about not being in the title picture and predicts that Wendi Richter is going to get her ass kicked in both of her title matches. We then move onto the first of Wendi Richter’s matches, as she faces a challenge for her dual titles from Medusa Miceli. The challenger’s strategy is simple, go as hard as possible against the champ in order to make sure she can’t effectively compete in the main event. The champion intuits this strategy but is more or less helpless to stop it. The two girls beat each other badly, with Wendi Richter even managing to get busted open. The champ is being hounded so mercilessly that it looks like she might even lose her titles. Her salvation comes in the form of Luna Vachon, who crashes the party and goes straight after Medusa Miceli. The bell rings and Wendi Richter hobbles to the back. Medusa Miceli defeats Wendi Richter in 26:11 by disqualification after interference from Luna Vachon but the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship do not change hands Luna Vachon does some damage but, after the ruckus in the opening match, the staff are much quicker to react and shut her down. We then get a hype package for the main event before going straight through to the next match. Penny Mitchell is taking on Velvet McIntyre and, whilst commentators initially speculate that the match exists to let Velvet McIntyre get her momentum back, Penny Mitchell turns the opening round into a rout. Velvet McIntyre is hesitant, easily frustrated and prone to mistakes, as Penny Mitchell takes liberty after liberty. The match is awkward and nasty, with the heel taking every opportunity to cheat and abuse the referee’s leniency and the babyface uncharacteristically lashing out with toe stomps and scratches and hair pulling. When the finish comes, Penny Mitchell can barely believe her luck. Penny Mitchell defeats Velvet McIntyre in 14:37 by pinfall after a swinging neckbreaker One last promotional video – this time focusing on various roster members and their sponsored charity efforts – plays us into the interviews. Velvet McIntyre struggles to explain herself, appearing despondent until Medusa Miceli arrives to lighten her mood and she cedes the interview time to her. We then hear a fired-up rant from Medusa Miceli present to exact a heavy price from Luna Vachon for her interference. Penny Mitchell is still slightly stunned by her victory, but Candi Devine eventually prompts her to demand a title match and she does so with gusto. We get to the main event with Wendi Richter trying to disguise a limp as she makes her entrance. Lisa Moretti is given a grand spectacle for her entrance, with music and lights. She makes sure to drag it out to upset her opponent but leaves Wendi Richter no chance to turn things around and heads straight for her with a spear once she enters the ring. The challenger is able to keep herself from going down and showers elbow strikes and punches down on the champ’s back. All Lisa Moretti has to do, however, is thump her in her injured leg, eliciting a howl of pain and a collapse. The match proceeds like this for some time, Wendi Richter has the power advantage, but Lisa Moretti ruthlessly exploits her in her injured state. Things become more even-handed as the match progresses and Lisa Moretti takes her lumps, but Wendi Richter remains on the backfoot, failing severely times to get a powerbomb off on account of her weakened leg. By the end, the wound on Wendi Richter’s forehead has been reopened and she stumbles, a sweaty and bloody mess, into the finish. Lisa Moretti defeats Wendi Richter in 27:55 by pinfall after a powerslam to retain the NWA World Women’s Championship We end on a shot of an exhausted Wendi Richter barely able to stand, as Lisa Moretti celebrates on a turnbuckle in the background. Combs doesn't seem to appeased by her match. Richter escapes with 2 of her belts thanks to Luna. Mitchell with the upset of the night!
