Autistic Dragon
McIntyre gets dragged into the Medusa - Monsters madness. Pardue with the water bucket would've gotten a laugh in my home. 3 belts Moretti outlasts 5 women. Can anyone stop her?

spaldoni
Velvet and Medusa go all out until chaos ensues. Nice visual of Velvet and Medusa forming an impromptu alliance to fight off the monsters. Another hot tag match. My favorite part was the post match when Pardue throws a bucket of water at the heels. That's good television. Fun battle royal as each woman get to shine. I thought Babyface was going to pull off the underdog upset but not tonight as the red hot Moretti wins it and retains her many titles. WWW has some serious momentum going! Blehschmidt
If Medusa has found back up in Velvet, that's some good back up!! Moretti is looking unstoppable!! Scarlet-Left
Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. XLVIII – 27th of October 1986 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Debbie Combs versus Wendi Richter We kick this week off with a rematch. Velvet McIntyre looks to defend her television title from Medusa Miceli but this time the Monsters are barred from the building. The contest is fierce but clean, with an emphasis on technical wrestling. Both women get a chance to showcase their talents and their move set and they trade near-falls halfway through. Finally, when they’re thoroughly exhausted, they sprint to the finish and, eventually, the champ takes the easy way out. Velvet McIntyre defeats Medusa Miceli in 15:31 by pinfall with a small package to retain the WWW Television Championship We linger on the pair after the match, as Medusa Miceli swallows her initial instinct to complain to the referee she eventually composes herself well enough for a handshake. A very brief video interlude then takes us to the interviews. Interestingly, the two opponents share interview time, talking each other up and thanking the company for keeping the Monsters away for the night. A commercial break then takes us through to some tag team action – to determine who’ll be facing the champions on Saturday. The Star Girls take on Penny Mitchell and Candi Devine and realise almost immediately that they have their work cut out for them. The heels resort to every trick in the book, taking every shortcut possible and frustrating the referee to no end. The Star Girls keep themselves alive, however, through quick tags in and out and explosions of offence whenever they have the opportunity. When things begin to look bad for the faces, Misty Blue Simmes and Candice Pardue rush down to ringside in order to become a permanent nuisance to their rivals, distracting them and thwarting their under-the-table shenanigans. Rockin’ Robin & Jamie West defeat Penny Mitchell & Candi Devine in 13:40 when Rockin’ Robin pins Candi Devine after a bulldog A brawl ensues between the rival teams – as the Star Girls celebrate – that eats through the interview time and the camera follows them as they battle around the backstage area before cutting to commercials. The main event is given a big fight feel, as each former world champion receives an elaborate entrance. They each bring an entourage to the ring, ostensibly to keep things fair – Wendi Richter brings her own partner along with the Nasty Girls and Debbie Combs brings the Giant Slayers. From the off, there’s almost as much action outside the ring as inside, with brawling – including very occasional spills into the crowd – and cheating galore. Wendi Richter has the power advantage and Debbie Combs has the technical advantage but by the end, it’s a matter of sheer willpower. The finish comes when Wendi Richter brings Debbie Combs up for a powerbomb and gets an axe handle for her trouble. Debbie Combs lands on her opponent’s chest and has just enough presence of mind to hook her leg. Debbie Combs defeats Wendi Richter in 16:39 by pinfall after an axe handle The brawling does not subside with the closing bell, so we end on chaotic scenes, with Debbie Combs cheering in celebration in the midst of it all. kevinmcfl
Big week for WWW... Medusa goes down in defeat but shares interview time with the winner! Autistic Dragon
Medusa is slowly but surely making her way to the right side of the law. The Star Girls get a big win with a bit of help. Combs win the de facto lumberjane main event. There is certainly room for more here.
Scarlet-Left
Wonder Women Wrestling OCTOBER SUPERCARD 1986 Live from: Las Vegas, Nevada Tonight’s show has an unmistakable Halloween theme, with fans dressed in costume in the audience, spooky theming to the light show and the set dressing and even the ring is costumed with black, green and orange ropes. The show opener is the tag team championship match between the team of Wendi Richter and Peggy Lee Leather and the Star Girls. Whilst all the girls have incorporated a little bit of the season into their outfits, Wendi Richter is the only one to have gone all out, with her hair dyed black and oiled up, and red paint trailing from her mouth to resemble blood for some anonymous victim of her vampiric thirst. Her attire is black and red, and she struts about before the match starts, roiling in the venom of the crowd. The match itself is very even, with the Star Girls fully in-the-zone and unwilling to let up for even a second. Wendi Richter holds her ground but Peggy Lee Leather falters at regular intervals. The finish is hectic, with all four women in the ring. Rockin’ Robin & Jamie West defeat Wendi Richter & Peggy Lee Leather in 18:23 when Jamie West pins Peggy Lee Leather after a lariat to win the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship The faces almost appear shocked that they won as they whoop and holler with the titles in their hands. Wendi Richter stares murderously at her partner before storming of. An ad-filled video interlude then plays before we head to the interviews. Peggy Lee Leather is alone and tries to stammer through a list of excuses, primarily accusing her opponents of cheating before she’s confronted by her partner. Wendi Richter waits barely half a second for an explanation, which is not forthcoming, before launching herself at her sidekick and beating her senseless before we cut away. The Star Girls are ecstatic to be back on top and promise that it will stay that way. They then chitter away to each other about the rest of the card, especially trying to sell their excitement for the main event. In her first match of the night, Lisa Moretti faces a challenge for her fighting spirit and Texas titles from Winona Little Heart. The contest if immediately filled with tension and drama. The challenger knows she’s been given a lot of chances and can’t afford to blow what could be her last for a long time, whereas the champion knows she has to win and win quickly, otherwise she might be too beaten up or exhausted to hold onto her world title later in the night. After ten minutes of normal action, the champ begins to become startled and desperate to put things away. Winona Little Heart, on the other hand, immediately retreats into a super-defensive technical style. Several near-falls later and Lisa Moretti begins looking for another exit. Her attempts to take a count-out loss are foiled and she is dragged back into the ring. The challenger slips out of an attempt by the champ to get the referee to disqualify her for an illegal hold. Very briefly, it looks like Winona Little Heart might just win, until Lisa Moretti gives up on finding a cheap way out and doubles down on fighting like hell. Lisa Moretti defeats Winona Little Heart in 20:39 by pinfall after a powerslam to retain the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship A hype package for the main event then plays before we head to the interviews. Winona Little Heart is thoroughly despondent and not even her stablemates can cheer her up. She floats the idea that Lisa Moretti might just be unstoppable. The champion echoes this sentiment and says she’ll dispose of Debbie Combs in the main event, with ease. After the next two teams enter the ring, a cage is constructed around them. Candice Pardue looks nervous, but Misty Blue Simmes reassures her with some inaudible words of encouragement. Meanwhile, their opponents – Penny Mitchell and Candi Devine – are giving nothing away. As soon as the bell rings, the ring descends into anarchy and it’s barely five minutes in when the first woman bleeds, when Candice Pardue is thrown headfirst into one of the cage walls by an extremely vindictive Penny Mitchell. Misty Blue Simmes and Candi Devine are only marginally more civil and beat the living hell out of each other. The finish, by the time it comes, is an afterthought, as one woman among the four manages to drape her arm over another as they lie in their own blood, sweat and tears, beaten and breathless. Misty Blue Simmes & Candice Pardue defeat Penny Mitchell & Candi Devine in 23:45 when Candice Pardue pins Penny Mitchell after a collision By the time we get to the interviews – after a roster-wide promotional music video – neither team has much to say as they nurse their injuries and struggle for words. The next match, a handicap match pitting the Monsters against Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli, has an interesting aesthetic. The Monsters have all played into the Halloween theme, making their usual face paint spookier and more elaborate. On the other hand, Medusa Miceli is wearing barely any face paint at all and looks more like her partner than her opponents. The pace of the match is slow, especially in the beginning, as the women tease each other out but eventually a clear narrative emerges; the Monsters use their numbers advantage effectively, with quick tags in and out and a well thought out pattern of rest periods for each woman but the faces each have a clearly superior pound-for-pound wrestling ability. Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli both begin to tire by the fifteen-minute mark, which is when the Monsters ramp up their pin attempts. After one too many near-falls sends them into a frenzy, however, they decide to avoid any further embarrassment and end things on their terms. They pour into the ring and just start wailing on their opponents. Velvet McIntyre & Medusa Miceli defeat Luna Vachon & Mad Maxine & Rhonda Singh & Reggie Bennett in 18:01 by disqualification The beatdown is eventually broken up by staff members and babyfaces and the Monsters are eventually escorted from the building. One last hype video plays, this one for VIP tickets, and we get to the interview. Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli are both quite roughed up, but they’re nonetheless buoyed by the victory which they say proves the Monsters can’t win even with an in-built advantage. Next time, they say, if they have to face them at all, the numbers should be equal. In a match that’s been rehearsed for days, Lisa Moretti and Debbie Combs take each other to the limit. The contest is exceptionally even as the minor wear and tear the champion received earlier in the night and psychological effect of having Debbie Combs in her head bring Lisa Moretti down to her opponent’s level. They take care to show off the full array of each woman’s move set and each of them secure a two-count long before the finish. The last sequence features Debbie Combs diving from the top rope and crashing into Lisa Moretti at ringside. We get to a count of nine before both women are in the ring and last-ditch effort from the champion, running against the ropes and bounding back for a crossbody counts against her as she’s caught and driven into the matt with a piledriver. Debbie Combs defeats Lisa Moretti in 30:56 by pinfall after a piledriver to win the NWA World Women’s Championship The referee milks the possibility of a neck injury on Lisa Moretti for all its worth as Debbie Combs steps into the crowd to celebrate her victory as we fade to black. kevinmcfl
Wrestling is always more fun when the unexptected happens. The result of the first tag match shocked me!! Richter might have been justified in the after-match attack. Huge win for Velvet and Madusa. You are doing an awseome slow play of Madusa's transformation. Combs is lucky that was Moretti's second match of the night. I am glad that the belts are not on one person anymore as now we can add another feud to the great world of WWW
Autistic Dragon
I doubt anyone is surprised Richter immediately dumped Leather after losing the straps. Congratulations to the Star Girls. Moretti is 1-0 in title matches. Is it too early to call Little Heart the Hiroki Goto of W3? Pardue finally gets her revenge on Mitchell with victory in a bloody cage match. McIntyre & Medusa get a moral victory but they're really gonna need to make some friends before trying again. The era of 3 belts Moretti comes to a end as Combs regains the World Women's Championship. What a closing image.
spaldoni
The woman are into the Halloween theme tonight! Star Girls kick things off with a bang as they put down Richter and Peggy Lee. Well, we knew it was coming and it did as Richter gives her now former partner a beating. Moretti gets a tougher than expected challenge from Winona but retains her dual titles. Will she have enough left for Combs? Oh yea this cage match had a ton of build and the teams deliver. I think we might get more after that finish. That was a fight! Velvet and Medusa get the DQ win but the Monsters get in some serious blows. Moretti and Combs give the fans 30 action packed minutes. WOW! Combs does the unthinkable and wins the title! What a feel good moment!

Scarlet-Left
Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. XLIX – 3rd of November 1986 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Debbie Combs & Misty Blue Simmes & Babyface Nellie versus Wendi Richter & Leilani Kai & Luna Vachon for the WWW Trios Championship This week, the programme opens with a video recap of the supercard and excitable commentary concerning the main event. The challenger for the television title this week is Liz Chase. She looks nervous and ill-equipped to deal with Velvet McIntyre but has her stable around to give her an unfair advantage. The Glamour Girls give the champ hell for the first five minutes of the match until Medusa Miceli comes down to ringside. She spoils their plans and keeps them in check, single-handedly, throughout the match. Liz Chase panics once she loses the advantage of outside help and folds in short order. Velvet McIntyre defeats Liz Chase in 12:13 by pinfall after a swinging hurricanrana to retain the WWW Television Championship After the match we get a music video highlighting the career of Debbie Combs so far before heading to the interviews. Liz Chase rants and raves about “outside interference” and her stablemates back her up, dubbing the association of Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli “the unholy alliance”. Velvet McIntyre uses her interview time to chat with Medusa Miceli and they discuss who they should team up with to put a stop to the Monsters, name-dropping and praise practically every babyface on the roster. A commercial break then takes us through to some tag team action. With the Nasty Girls taking on Lady Apache and Vicky Carranza, the commentary focuses on the recent dethroning of Wendi Richter as tag team and the implosion of her partnership with Peggy Lee Leather. The received wisdom is that the division is now wide open, and anyone could have a shot. Whilst the match is relatively even on a technical level, the heels are elevated to a whole other level by their ruthlessness and cunning. Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux defeat Lady Apache & Vicky Carranza in 13:47 when Linda Dallas submitted Vicky Carranza with a single leg crab After a short video interlude, we head to the interviews. Whilst others would be thoroughly despondent, the faces try to remain upbeat, and Lady Apache predicts that her time to shine will come sooner rather than later. The Nasty Girls immediately begin lobbying for a title match, proclaiming themselves the obvious choice and the result of such a match a foregone conclusion. A second commercial break then takes us to the main event. With six highly skilled women in the match, three of them world champions or former world champions, the contest I given a lot of room to breathe, and regular tags in and out ensure that we get an array of interesting individual matchups. The narrative of the match, however, is clear from the beginning. The teams seem equally matched – especially given the cavalcade of annoyances at ringside – but all three of the heels can’t contain their individual egos and deep disdain for one another. The finish comes when Leilani Kai tags herself in off the back of an enraged Wendi Richter. Having made the move to score the pin on a seemingly vulnerable Babyface Nellie, she realises all too late that the woman was playing possum and gets snatched up into a small package. Debbie Combs & Misty Blue Simmes & Babyface Nellie defeat Wendi Richter & Leilani Kai & Luna Vachon in 16:51 when Babyface Nellie pins Leilani Kai with a small package to retain the WWW Trios Championship We end on hectic scenes, with Wendi Richter squawking angrily, the Glamour Girls and the Monsters coming close to blows and the faces embracing each other and cradling their titles. Autistic Dragon
The Unholy Alliance proves effective against more than just Monsters as Medusa neutralizes The Glamor Girls. The Nasty Girls stake their claim on a title shot but I'm getting a feeling we should keep an eye on Apache. The trios champs don't defeat their opponents as much as their opponents defeat themselves. We get a nice chaotic mess to close the show. spaldoni
Velvet's stock has really gone up during her TV title run. She'll get even more attention aligning with Medusa to go after the Monsters. The Medusa/Monsters storyline has been outstanding. Episodic television at its best. Nasty Girls up their game and after that outing might be in title contention. Nice booking with the 6 woman main event. Faces send the fans home happy. I knew Richter would be pissed at Kai LOL. Scarlet-Left
Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. L – 10th of November 1986 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Lisa Moretti versus Babyface Nellie for the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship This week’s programme opens hot, with Velvet McIntyre taking on Lady Apache for the television title. The two women are given a fair amount of time and use it to craft an epic. The contest is athletic, even, and very showy. The champ is half a step ahead most of the time, but the challenger makes her work for it every step of the way. Instead of becoming frustrated, however, Velvet McIntyre relishes the surprisingly credible opposition. In the end, Lady Apache goes for one too many high-risk moves and the champ is able to roll through a crossbody. Velvet McIntyre defeats Lady Apache in 14:51 by pinfall with a lateral press to retain the WWW Television Championship A brief video interlude then takes us to the interviews. Velvet McIntyre crashes her opponent’s interview to shower her with praise and encouragement, and they go over the match together. A commercial break then brings us to some tag team action, with the Nasty Girls looking to continuing building momentum with a victory over Susan Starr and Winona Little Heart. Once again, we have a strong back-and-forth contest but this time the advantage is even less clear. The match appears as though it could end any number of ways – a double count is even teased halfway through – and each woman manages to rack up at least one near-fall. In the end, however, it turns out that cheaters do prosper. Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux defeat Susan Starr & Winona Little Heart in 12:42 when Linda Dallas pins Susan Starr with her feet on the ropes A music video, hyping up the main event, then plays before we get to the interviews. Consoled by their stablemates, the Giant Slayers demand a rematch. The heels laugh off the idea of a rematch and focus on what they assume to be their next match – the tag team championship – trading ideas on how best to spend the intervening weeks. After a second commercial break, we to the main event. From the beginning, it is obvious that there is something off about Lisa Moretti. She walks to the ring cautiously and her face appears strained and weary. A slow-paced but technically sound match ensues, and it is obvious that Babyface Nellie has somehow procured a clear advantage. The champ’s offence doesn’t land with anywhere near the force to put her in control and she struggles to defend herself – favouring her head and neck, leaving herself open to body shots. Lisa Moretti primarily keeps herself in the game with tricks and dirty tactics. One of the things that keeps the match going longer than it really needs to, is the reluctance of Babyface Nellie to seriously go after the champ’s clearly hurting neck. One hair-pull too many, however, gets the challenger riled up enough to take the kid gloves off. Babyface Nellie defeats Lisa Moretti in 13:11 by pinfall after a bulldog to win the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship With Babyface Nellie celebrating in the background, we end the programme on a shot of a teary-eyed Lisa Moretti being seen to by the referee and a growing number of other staff members. Autistic Dragon
McIntyre keeps on rolling. Might this be a new direction for Lady Apache. spaldoni
Velvet is on the roll of a lifetime as she continues her reign as TV champ. Nice show of sportsmanship as well. Scarlet-Left
Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. LI – 17th of November 1986 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Velvet McIntyre versus Medusa Miceli versus Mad Maxine versus Rhonda Singh versus Luna Vachon versus Reggie Bennett versus Leilani Kai versus Judy Martin versus Liz Chase versus Despina Montagas for the WWW Television Championship This week, the programme starts with a recap of the fallout from the previous main event. Pat Patterson then comes to take up a spot on the commentary desk during the opening match, answering – vaguely, evasively and sometimes unintelligibly – questions that people have had about the medical sate of Lisa Moretti. The in-ring action sees Candice Pardue take on Peggy Lee Leather. Both women are hungry for a victory, which makes for an awkward and violent encounter. Candice Pardue defeats Peggy Lee Leather in 11:30 by pinfall after a missile dropkick A brief video interlude then takes us to the interviews. Peggy Lee Leather becomes increasingly enraged during her interview time. Eventually the interviewer touches on a particularly sore subject – the breakup of her tag team with Wendi Richter – and she completely loses it, threatening the staff, throwing chairs around and promising bloody revenge on everyone she feels has wronged her. By contrast, Candice Pardue is pleased with herself and giddy with anticipation as to what a singles win can bring her. Misty Blue Simmes comes to join her and agrees that she deserves a shot at the television title. After a commercial break we come to a familiar match setup, with the world champion Debbie Combs taking on Wendi Richter in a tag team match. Respectively, their partners are Babyface Nellie and KC Houston. The resulting contest is fun and fast-paced, with a generally even balance of offence. Wendi Richter predictably hoards her team’s ring time, but she justifies it with a strong performance. The finish comes when Peggy Lee Leather runs down to ringside. KC Houston reacts by calling for the referee, but this backfires massively when her brief distraction gives the interloper enough time to interfere – Peggy Lee Leather trips Wendi Richter up and Debbie Combs takes full advantage. Debbie Combs & Babyface Nellie defeat Wendi Richter & KC Houston in 13:41 when Debbie Combs submits Wendi Richter with a camel clutch A video plays, advertising the VIP ticket experience and a new edition of the merchandise catalogue, before we get to the interviews. Instead of a sit-down interview, the camera follows Wendi Richter as she talks the corridors of the backstage area, hunting for her former tag team partner – KC Houston scurries after her. Unable to find her target and desperately needing to lash out, she turns on KC Houston and delivers a nasty powerbomb on the thinly carpeted floor. The faces talk up their victory – Babyface Nellie is a little less enthusiastic, but Debbie Combs is happy to feign ignorance about the interference – and chat away about their respective titles and prospective title challengers. A second commercial break then takes us to the main event. With the two large factions out for each other’s blood and both of them equally desperate to take out the champ herself, the main event has all the makings of a bloodbath and does not disappoint. Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli demonstrate a keen strategic intelligence, picking off their opponents only when they’re sure it won’t seriously unbalance the dynamics of the match. Despina Montagas goes first, at which point the faces form a temporary alliance with the Glamour Girls, long enough to dump out Luna Vachon, before swinging the momentum back. The heels realise what’s happening far too late, by which time Liz Chase, Reggie Bennett, Judy Martin and Mad Maxine have all been dumped out. With four women left, the contest becomes more traditional, taking on the feeling of a tornado tag match. Leilani Kai can’t resist turning on her opponent at an opportune moment, however, and Rhonda Singh is dumped out. Knowing that she has to act quickly, Leilani Kai rushes to try pushing Velvet McIntyre out, but is scooped up and thrown out by Medusa Miceli. Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli then shake hands before having a fair but fierce wrestling match. Both women are bruised, and the champion even has a busted lip, so each big move takes quite a bit out of them. It could go either way but, eventually, the champ proves why she’s the one with the strap. Velvet McIntyre defeats Despina Montagas & Luna Vachon & Liz Chase & Reggie Bennett & Judy Martin & Mad Maxine & Rhonda Singh & Leilani Kai & Medusa Miceli in 18:12 in a ten woman over-the-top-rope battle royal to retain the WWW Television Championship There are no hard feelings, and we end on a shot of Velvet McIntyre and Medusa Miceli with their arms around each other’s shoulders as they celebrate. * P.S. Sincere apologies for not getting any feedback up for other people! I've had a hell of a week!
Autistic Dragon
Leather's night starts out rough with a loss to Pardue but she finishes strong by screwing Richter during her match. Poor Houston. Good strategy employed in the battle royal by McIntyre & Medusa. If I had any doubts about Medusa turning over a new leaf then her being a good sport at the end removed it. I wouldn't want to get in her way. Well, didn't take long for Peggy to follow through on her threats. She gets a bit of payback on Richter. Not only that but Combs makes Richter submit! kevinmcfl
Sorry I fell a bit behind here. I am joying what you are doing with Lisa M., Velvet, Richter and Madusa. Can't wait to see why Lisa M. was surrounded by people after the match. Eventually RIchter may be ready to go out on her own as she seems to know she is the big dog.
