Bob Armstrong heel turn. He costs Ron Fuller the NWA title against Ric Flair while he was the special referee. Not much footage of heel Armstrong is out there but it has been said it was an amazing run. Southeastern/Continental was a lot fun.

The Great Tio. He was the television champion for a long time in Angelo Poffo’s ICW. Only reason I know anything about him was from doing research on ICW for the 1983 fantasy booking project years ago.

I love that they found him on a “primitive island”, but he’s a black belt. So, at some point he went to a karate school and got tested?

It’s hard to explain to fans that weren’t around in the 80’s how fast Luger was pushed. It was crazy. I had never heard of the guy then all of a sudden he was on the cover of a major magazine having defeated Wahoo for the Southern title. He won it in about a month after his debut. I didn’t get Florida wrestling where I lived so that’s how I first heard of Luger and then he was just pushed to the moon.

Just an FYI, that guys YouTube channel from above has an amazing collection of old school Florida stuff. I think it’s been taken down a couple of times but is currently up. Great stuff.

Buzz Sawyer is in maniacal overdrive in this video. Lots of promos and jobber matches. His promos are insane.  Around the 29:00 minute mark is Sawyer vs a guy Solie refers to as this man Mulley. He almost kills him. I am wondering if it’s Randy Mulkey.

I dunno how many people agree with me on this, but I prefer face Flair to heel Flair, and I've always been disappointed that I didn't see more of face Flair when he was in his prime

I continue to be fascinated by the portrayal of Ric Flair as a simultaneous babyface and heel.

This clip had to be around the time when Flair & the Andersons attacked Dusty at the Omni after the cage match vs Nikita, right?
