OMG gets the win of "Dirty" Dutch! Who can stop this guy?? Chicky wins the Amarillo Street fight! I love it! Another stellar main event! kevinmcfl
Another great week of shows for WSW. That taped fist match is right up Slater's alley but even more so, it is right up the alley of WSW. Great choice of matches here. Tyree Pride vs Sullivan makes me think of Florida Championship Wrestling. Pride is one of those underrated wrestlers who is great on the undercard or mid-card. Lots of DQ matxhes this week which is perfect for the house show loop as it allows you to keep everuthing hot and moving forward. The South Pacific Connection-Devils Duo might have been my favorite match if I was in attendence. Nice work as always.
spaldoni
I've said this before but I love how you're using Tyree Pride. SPC turn the tables on Slick and get the win over the Duo. Looks like the Fort Bragg Brotherhood are closing in on the Moondogs. Sullivan and Abby are made for each other but a group is forming to do battle with them. Freight Train continues to be a fun opener. I like the heat going on between Chicky and JJF. Kendall puts down Kendo but OMG awaits. Brooks and Funk are always good for a wild Texas brawl. Slater is one bad dude. Not many people can take him down in a taped fist match. Just ask Pogo. Once again, WSW delivers 2 solid loops. Autistic Dragon
Western States Wrestling Episode 14 From the KFDA-TV Studio in Amarillo Texas Airing live at Noon on WTBS Channel 17 8/8/86 The opening montage plays to "Into the fire" by Dokken ending on a shot of Western States Heavyweight Champion Jumbo Tsuruta We cut to Steve Stack standing in front of a joint WSW and NWA banner. SS: Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting episode of Western States Wrestling at High Noon sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance, the premier governing body of professional wrestling the world over. We have a incredible hour for you today. Our main event is for the Western States Television Championship as reigning champion Shaska Whatley accompanied by Slick will defend against Cocoa Samoa. Also later in this hour we'll have taped comments from NWA President "Cowboy" Bill Watts who will have big news regarding the upcoming Labor Day Spectacular. All that & more now let's head down to the ring for our opening contest. Match 1 "Wild Tiger" Kim Duk w/Tojo Yamamoto defeats Jeremiah Tyrell with a double arm suplex Tojo & Duk head to the interview area. SS: Impressive performance by your man today Tojo. TY: Of course it was! It's hard not to be Impressive against these moonshine swilling degenerates Western States Wrestling brings in. But Papa-san has important business to discuss, Frank Dusek get out here now! (A commotion breaks out as Dusek meets Tojo at the interview area) FD: Mr Yamamoto i think i know what this is about and... TY: And nothing! Look Papa-san is reasonable man. You have big Spectacular on holiday for lazy American workers to stay home and stuff themselves on even more American junk food than usual & you want sold out Sports Arena & big ratings so of course you put the great Jumbo Tsuruta at top of card. Make sense so far but then you decided the best opponent you could find was Dick Slater? *Big pop* That mentally retarded pig mounting redneck fall down drunk loser isn't fit to serve Jumbo's tea let alone challenge for his title. What you thinking Dusek? FD: As I've already explained to you, Dick Slater in his first match in WSW took Mr Tsuruta to a 30 minute time limit draw making him the only opponent your client hasn't been able to score a decisive victory over in a one-on-one match. That and his impressive record since makes Mr Slater the obvious choice. Frankly I would think your client would welcome the opportunity to correct what was the sole blemish on a otherwise perfect record. TY: That was a fluke! You put them in ring together 100 times & it never happens again... FD: Well then I can't imagine why you'd have a problem. Look Tojo we can go around in circles all day but it's very simple, Either your man shows up at the Labor Day Spectacular & defends his Title against Dick Slater or he'll be stripped of that title and you will BOTH be suspended indefinitely. Your choice. (Dusek leaves to a rousing ovation while a fuming Tojo & Duk follow behind, Tojo loudly complaing the whole time) Commercial break-Steve Stack runs down the Western States live events for this coming week. SS: Welcome back fans and as promised we have a video from NWA President "Cowboy" Bill Watts regarding the Labor Day Spectacular. (VTR-Bill Watts is standing in front of the Mid-South Wrestling backdrop) BW: Hello Western States fans it's a pleasure to be here during such exciting times for the NWA. While we were thrilled to have all our territories come together to make the Great American Bash such a success their was some disappointment that Western States had to cancel its planned Supershow. So we were all glad to hear Western States announce its Labor Day Spectacular. It was announced that Commissioner Dusek was in negotiations to have every major NWA title defended & I'm proud to report that negotiations have proven successful. While Eric Embry is already contracted to Western States meaning there was never going to be a problem having the World Jr Heavyweight Championship defended. I can report that the NWA World Tag Team champions whomever they may be will be present as will the winner of the rematch between reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nikita Koloff & former champion Magnum T.A. After discussions on appropriate challengers it has been decided that at today's Sports Arena show there will be a one day eight man tournament to determine the challenger for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship & a Four Corner elimination tag team match to determine the challengers for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Thank you for your time & we look forward to seeing you in Amarillo for the Labor Day Spectacular! (End of VTR) SS: Well the NWA President doesn't disappoint in his first appearance on Western States Wrestling. Let's celebrate with our next match. Match 2 "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride defeats Maximilian Ward with the Flying Bodypress. During the match Stack announces that due to Pride recently taking Shaska Whatley to a 15 minute time limit draw he will face the winner of today's main event at the Labor Day Spectacular for the Western States Television Championship. Commercial-Promo for the Labor Day Spectacular. Tickets on sale now. check your local listing. Match 3 Radiance defeat Jerald Jacobs & Miles Wragge when Embry pinned Jacobs with the piledriver. Post match Radiance cut a typically on promo the highlight being Embry announcing his defense of the NWA World Jr Heavyweight Championship will be a open challenge to anyone in the NWA! Commercial-Promo for the Labor Day Spectacular. Tickets on sale now. Check your local listing. Post match Mantell cuts a promo saying he's been told he's in the tournament at the Sports Arena & promises to win the whole thing & bring the world title to Western States! Commercial break-Steve Stack runs down the card for the Sports Arena later today. NWA World Heavyweight Championship contender tournament first round matches. One Man Gang w/"General" Skandar Akbar vs "The Pride of Montague County" Johnny Mantell "Wild Tiger" Kim Duk w/Tojo Yamamoto vs Dory Funk Jr Abdullah the Butcher w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs "Dirty" Dutch Mantell "Killer" Tim Brooks w/"General" Skandar Akbar vs Terry Funk Non tournament matches Four Corner Elimination match, Winners challenge for the NWA World Tag Team Championships at Labor Day Spectacular. Tickets still available. Match 5 Main event Western States Television Championship "Black Bullet" Shaska Whatley w/Slick defeats Cocoa Samoa. After having security break the teams up Commissioner Dusek announced a rematch for the Labor Day Spectacular only this time it would be a...BOOT CAMP MATCH! Main event tournament final One Man Gang w/"General" Skandar Akbar defeats Terry Funk with the 747. Funk came out with his head bandaged & accompanied by Dory & JJ who seemed to be trying to talk him out of wrestling the match. Terry shoves them both off then rushes OMG. He's able to blitz the big man for a bit but as soon as OMG lands the first big shot Funk's momentum crashes to a halt. Aside from a few hope spots it's a largely one-sided affair that quickly becomes uncomfortable for everyone but OMG & Akbar. There's almost a sense of relief at the final three count. spaldoni
HAHAHA! Great promo by Tojo. I can't believe he called Slater a pig mounting redneck fall down drunk loser. Slater is one guy you don't want to piss off. Watts makes it official as all NWA world titles will be defended on Labor Day. Pride's hard work is rewarded with a TV title shot on Labor Day. That Embry is so arrogant. Looking forward to finding out who answers his Labor Day challenge. Mantell is tuned up and ready for the tournament. Loving Whatley's TV title run. To Amarillo, Good first round match ups with the Funks and monsters advancing. Karachi Vice wins the 4 corners match and get the NWA tag title shot. They're back in the game with a vengeance. OMG advances to the finals with a big win over Dory. Terry advances but pays a dear price as Abby carves him up. Moondogs and Fort Bragg Brotherhood in a bootcamp match! The Labor Day card just keeps getting better. Well, I figured Terry didn't have much of a chance after what Abby did to him. I mean it's hard enough facing OMG at full strength let alone beaten up. Whether it's Nikita or Magnum, OMG is a serious threat. WSW worked some serious TV deals to make sure the Labor Day Spectacular is seen. Nice work. kevinmcfl
Wesrern State4s keeps on rolling... First fir the TV show... Awesome interview for Tojo. He says alot of nasty things but Dusek has some great points and I'm looking forward to see if Slater can get the title from Jumbo. Good job by Watts hyping up the Labor Day Show. Whatley continues to have a really nice title reigh. He is a great upper mod-card heel for you. ON TO THE SPORTS ARENA. Terry Funk vs Killer Tim Brooks might be the best opener in Dawn of War. This card gets better and better. Abbie vs Dutch (with a great ending) is 2nd match from the top material and it is again so early in your card. You have done great things with your roster and WSW is booming! Great Tag Team match to earn a title shot... Dr. Death and Dibiase, if they are still champs, will have their hands full with Karachi Vice OMG with the win over Dory keeps his monster status growing. Also nice job in keeping Dory strong as he wrestled earlier in the card and now had a "reason" for losing to OMG. Fans are always upset when the babyfaces lose a chance at the title on a DQ or count-out and I'm sure this was the case with the Fort Bragg Brotherhood but now we get a Boot Camp Match and all is forgiven. WOW... OMG win the win and now he gets Nikita. This will be a fun one! Great week at the Sports Arena.

kevinmcfl
Nice set of house shows this week for WSW. Slick is really Slick... attacking his own man to get the DQ. Looking forward to the TV show to make sure Shaska is OK with this. Big win for the Wild Bunch. Highlight of the loop for me was Embry throwing a fit and the crowd calling him crybaby. spaldoni
Devil's Duo capitalize on Jones's miscue to get a nice win. LOL, Chicky does the classic heel move and just walks away. I'm beginning to think Slick really is a genius. Kendall is rolling against Devastation Inc. He's going to need all this momentum when he faces OMG in an inevitable one on one showdown. JJ making Tojo submit is the best way to open a show. I'm liking the FBB, they can go toe to toe with anybody. "Crybaby" Embry, I think this is going to catch on with the fans LOL. That Moondogs/Funks match would have been worth the price of admission. I'm loving the Slater build. He might take the title off Jumbo. Once again, 2 fun loops that I'm sure brought in a lot of money.

First let me say that the response to the Labor Day Spectacular has incredible & we're very thankful to all our fans. Now as to the announcements, Western States has a proud history of being one of the most violent territories in the country & since our Resurrection we've done the best we can to uphold that legacy but something was missing. Something i couldn't put my finger on initially but then it hit me. That's why at the Labor Day Spectacular we're bringing back a title that was synonymous with Western States (Dusek opens the briefcase) The NWA Brass Knuckles Championship! *Big pop* This title marks it's holder as the toughest man in the NWA & after careful consideration the 2 men who will fight for this title at the Labor Day Spectacular are Killer Tim Brooks *Booooo* & "Dirty" Dutch Mantell! (Dusek let's the applause die down before continuing) And as for the second announcement. I've been around this business long enough to know that it's in the best interest of everyone that Jimmy Jack Funk & Chicky Starr settle their issue sooner rather than later, that's why at the Labor Day Spectacular they will meet one more time...in a Loser Leaves Town Texas Death Match! spaldoni
Perez gets things going and then makes it known he wants a shot at the TV title. Akbar promises Labor Day will be a historic day for Devastation Inc and he might be right. Nothing builds up a monster better than beating up 3 guys. OMG is a legit threat. Glamor Boys get a good showcase in. WOW! Dusek with some big announcements. I'm glad you're bringing back the Brass Knuckles title. It's a perfect fit for WSW. Dusek couldn't of picked 2 better guys to fight for it. Dusek's right, WSW isn't big enough for JJF and Chicky. Texas Death Match will be closure for sure. I have a feeling Labor Day will be a bad night for "Crybaby" Embry LOL. Terry Funk ends the show on a high note and the viewers even get a bonus brawl. To the Sports Arena, Slick is really earning his money as a manager. Big win for Kernodle as he puts Sullivan down with a piledriver! Somebody is going to have to find a counter for Jason's hockey mask. Thanks to the Long Riders, Embry continues to live up to his "crybaby" moniker. I've got to give Kendall a lot of credit, he's really taking it to Devastation Inc. Slater continues his incredible momentum by getting the win for his team. Duk is in hot water. Outstanding week as the Labor Day Spectacular approaches.
kevinmcfl
I really enjoyed the TV show this week as it really pushed your Labor Day Spectacular... OMG in a 3-1 bout as he stacks them on top of each other continues to build his monster character. Dusek and the announcement of the Brass Knucks Championship and the Loser Leave Town Death Match gives the event such a Western Satates feel.... AWESOME! Perez continues to do his job of winning over the fans and now he is looking for a TV title show... He could make a great champ Dev. Inc is looking strong. Great job developing two good heel stables. CRYBABY! Love Embry getting some heat. The Funks and Slater are a group not to be messed with... Look at Zaibatsu! SPORTS ARENA SHOW I like how you continue to give all the fans a good show but not give away to much on your tv angles. This slow play seems like a smart move with a smaller roster. You have everyone in the right place. Can't wait to see you add in the Brass Knucks Title as the fans will have built in blood every week which seems about right for West Texas.
