I studied in New York for a year and believe me, I explored and loved every part of it, but Long Island certainly has some characters haha

Punk’s promo was interesting. I don’t really know what to make of it. Too much hockey talk lol

It will be interesting to see if they ever try to book MJF as a babyface. After all, Piper was actually a face for longer than he was a heel if you think about it, and he kept drawing until into the nWo era.

He's legit a huge hockey fan and the Islanders do suck so I suppose he couldn't resist the low hanging fruit.

TK woke up and chose 1997 US vs Canada, this is some of my favorite stuff I've seen from AEW. I'm a mark for  great talent getting cheered in their home town as heels. That 1995 Charlotte guy who tore up the Hogan shirt and threw up the 4 fingers is a hero. I loved heel Danielson being a Babyface environmental champion in Seattle, that was a real clever one to pull off.

Punk also is a fan of Bret to the point he was openly cribbing large portions of his matches recently, so it makes sense he's go all "Canadian hero in the US" here.

Those had excellent first segments, but I thought the Battle Royal that followed was better than the matches following those promos. I am a sucker for a well-booked battle royal, and AEW doesn't overdo them, so I like when they do one well

MJF getting babyface reactions was so weird feeling but in a good way if that makes any sense.

There has to be something said about AEW's understanding the importance of happiness and prioritising it in its booking. It's one of the best things about it, and something that really sets it apart from WWE.

Riho has always been one of AEW's consistently best TV workers in the division, and Hayter's offence looks excellent

I'm sure this just leads to Black destroying one or both of the Blondes, but if they are planning to do something with this "House of Black" thing, using that to goth up Julia and put her as a valet for Black wouldn't be the worst idea.
