The crowd is going wild as we cut to Gorilla and Jesse who are standing by… they put over the big night of action… we see the Lumberjacks coming down to the ring… Gorilla and Jesse put over the title matches… Gorilla says there may be a new king here tonight but Jesse says we won’t see a new King but there will be new champions when the US tag titles are defended! We open things up with a special King’s Court Match… aka a Lumberjack match. We’ve got the Bushwhackers, Powers of Pain, Samoans, Tugboat, Maniac Matt, Earthquake, Honky Tonk Man, Valentine, Z-Man, & Koko B Ware! KING’S COURT MATCH Hacksaw Duggan vs King Haku w/ Bobby Heenan A fun enough opener with Haku walking out on the sedan and showing off the crown. We get the usual antics from the lumberjacks. The Powers of Pain and Bobby seem to do everything they can to stop Duggan. The Whackers and Koko lend a hand. The finish sees Duggan go for the 3-point stance but Heenan grabs his foot. Duggan ducks through the ropes and Earthquake grabs Honky’s guitar and destroys the guitar on his head! Duggan stumbles back and Haku with a nasty savat kick right to the skull and the 3-count! King Haku reigns supreme! Duggan looks to be in a bad way and we see Quake shaking hands with Heenan… was there something fishing going on here?! Mean Gene is in the back and he’s joined by Rick Martel who’s holding the Million Dollar Title. He talks about Jimmy Snuka being nothing but a savage and tonight he’s going to bring him to the 21st century! He’s got the million dollar smile… million dollar looks… and million dollar title! US TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS The Steiner Brothers vs The Rougeau Brothers In a highly entertaining tag team matchup, the Steiner Brothers faced off against the Rougeau Brothers in an exhilarating contest that showcased the unique styles and skills of both teams. Scott and Rick Steiner utilized their signature suplexes and explosive double-team maneuvers, showcasing their athleticism and teamwork. However, the Rougeau Brothers, known for their cunning tactics and quickness, were not to be underestimated. Jacques and Raymond Rougeau used their agility and ring awareness to create openings, often employing clever counters and high-flying maneuvers. They strategically worked to isolate one of the Steiners, cutting off the ring and preventing quick tags. As the match progressed, the back-and-forth action kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The Steiner Brothers mounted a comeback, delivering a series of impressive suplexes and high-impact moves. The Rougeau Brothers fought valiantly, displaying their resilience and determination to secure a victory. They have got their eyes firmly set on the tag titles and they haven’t even put an end to the Twin Towers yet. Paul E lets Slick know that tonight it is all about complete destruction and the Skyscrapers will stand tall! MILLION DOLLAR CHAMPIONSHIP Jimmy Snuka vs Rick Martel A good simple contest, Martel works the mask and the “hard head” of Snuka. Martel is really showing off the skills in the ring. Snuka does get some moments of pop and keeps things even but Martel pulls the mask off and then NAILS Snuka below the belt! Jimmy goes down to a knee… Martel then hits the ropes and comes with a NASTY high knee right to the back of Snuka’s head and then the 3-count! Martel continues his “reign” as the Million Dollar Champion! Mean Gene is with Slick and the Twin Towers and the big guy… Zeus. They put over the tag title match and the interesting piece of it is Bossman really putting over the feud and leaving the area quickly…Slick, Gang, and Zeus follow…. TAG TEAM BATTLE The Skyscrapers w/ Paul E & Sherri vs Twin Towers w/ Slick & Zeus A dream match (for me) and these four men take it right to one another. The Bossman is a star in the making… he’s lost some weight… he gets some love from the crowd… He also works so well with Spivey. Mean Mark is coming along and has a tremendous upside. The One Man Gang is the weak link and brings things down a little bit but the story unfolds… as it has done over the last couple of weeks. Slick and Bossman continue to argue with one another. It comes to a boiling point and Zeus stands between them… when Bossman turns around… Zeus HAMMERS him down on the back and then tosses him in the ring. Bossman then falls prey to a DOUBLE POWERBOMB and Spivey covers for the 3-count! Heyman sees what’s going on and pulls his men out… he gives Slick a modified bird and goes to the back to celebrate… however… Bossman is still down inside the ring and wait a minute… One Man Gang with a 747 SPLASH! What in the hell is going on here?!?! Zeus and Gang are laying the boots in on Bossman! They pick him up for Slick to come and smack the taste right out of his mouth! Slick is celebrating with his men… Bossman.. Well he rolls over and grabs the nightstick… he’s trying to get up and when he does the crowd erupts… Bossman nails OMG with the stick and he goes flying over the top rope! Zeus and Slick retreat. Bossman looks to be in a rough spot but he is welcoming them back in the ring for a fight! Mean Gene is in the back and he’s got The Rockers with him. They’re getting their tape on and tell the world that tonight is their night. Demolition have held the titles for over a year… they’ve beaten everyone but tonight… tonight is the Rockers night and they deserve the shot and they will cash in. Davey Boy Smith vs Dino Bravo w/ Jimmy Hart In an exciting matchup, Davey Boy Smith faced off against Dino Bravo, accompanied by the ever-controversial manager Jimmy Hart. The anticipation in the arena was palpable as fans buzzed with excitement for this clash of strength and strategy. As the match began, Davey Boy Smith, known for his incredible power and athleticism, showcased his impressive physique and determination. He quickly took control, using his signature moves such as powerful body slams and suplexes to gain the upper hand over Bravo. The crowd erupted with cheers, rallying behind the British Bulldog. In a dramatic twist, Davey Boy Smith stood tall, catching Bravo off guard and hitting another powerslam, this time ensuring that Hart could not interfere. The referee counted to three, and the arena erupted in cheers as Davey Boy Smith secured the victory over Dino Bravo. Mean Gene is with Demolition and they talk about having their names etched in gold… the tag team gold… these belts have been ours since we came onto the scene and they aren’t going anywhere. We’ve beat everyone… once… twice… and tonight Rockers we’re going to do it again. Don’t think for a second you have a hope in hell because we’re doing the thing we do best… DEMOLISH AND DESTROY! INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP The Great Muta defends vs Tito Santana In a highly anticipated title match, The Great Muta defended his championship against the legendary Tito Santana in a thrilling encounter that captivated the audience from start to finish. The atmosphere in the arena was electric as both competitors made their entrances, each determined to claim victory. As the match began, Muta utilized his quickness and evasive maneuvers to keep Santana at bay. He displayed his trademark mist, using it strategically to distract and disorient his opponent. However, Tito Santana's resilience and experience shone through as he weathered the early storm, countering Muta's high-flying offense with his own powerful strikes and technical prowess. Ultimately, The Great Muta retained his championship after executing a well-timed Shining Wizard, catching Tito Santana off guard. The referee counted to three, and the match concluded with Muta standing tall as the champion. He and Paul E hold the title in the air… Muta looks unstoppable! Mean Gene has got Funk, Rude, and Roberts. they are putting over the War Zone. Six-men are going to enter the cage but none of them will walk out the same. Each man has their own agenda but as a team they are going to put an end to this trio before they even get started. There will be blood shed tonight… the censors will be out… the fans will be screaming… and we will be standing TALL! BATTLE OF THE GIANTS Andre the Giant vs The Giant Gonzalez w/ Mr. Fuji As the match began, the sheer size of both competitors was awe-inspiring. Andre the Giant, a true legend in the sport, exuded an aura of dominance and experience. The crowd erupted in cheers as he made his way to the ring, his legendary status commanding respect from all in attendance. On the other hand, The Giant Gonzalez, with his towering stature and unique physique, entered with a menacing presence that sent shivers through the audience. We see some tests of strength. Gonzalez gets control for a couple of moments but there really isn’t much substance to this one. As the match progressed, the tension escalated. Andre managed to regain control, delivering a series of headbutts and strikes that staggered Gonzalez. The crowd roared as Andre built momentum, performing a classic body slam that showcased his incredible strength. Andre barely hits the ropes and then with an ass smash on Gonzalez for the 3-count! The fans erupt… the battle of the giants has concluded (thankfully) and Andre is the biggest and the best! Mean Gene is with Warrior, Savage, and Rhodes. They put it plain and simple… well mostly… tonight is War… bodies will be damaged forever… there will not be winners and losers but survivors… each man is willing to pay the price but as the Warrior puts it… it is the sacrifice… the sacrifice each man is willing to give that will put them in the reigns of immortality… but no one can truly be immortal but their spirit can live on FOREVER! TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The Rockers vs Demolition As the match began, The Rockers, consisting of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, immediately showcased their signature fast-paced offense. Utilizing their agility and quick tags, they kept Demolition on their toes, executing a series of double-team maneuvers that left the crowd roaring with excitement. The Rockers wowed the audience with high-flying moves and innovative tactics, displaying their chemistry as a team. As the match progressed, the tension built with each near fall. The Rockers continued to showcase their resilience, countering Demolition's powerful moves with their speed and teamwork. Shawn Michaels delivered a series of superkicks, thrilling the audience with his signature style. However, Demolition absorbed the punishment and retaliated with their own devastating attacks, including crushing shoulder blocks and powerful slams. In the climax of the match, the action reached a fever pitch. The Rockers executed a high-flying double dropkick that sent Ax staggering back, creating an opportunity for a tag. Michaels and Jannetty exchanged quick tags, keeping the momentum on their side. The crowd was on their feet, cheering them on as they fought valiantly against their larger opponents. Smash came in and nailed Jannetty from behind. Demolition took control and even tried to go for the Decapitation Device but here comes Shawn Michaels with a dropkick and Smash who was on the middle ropes goes out of the ring! Ax grabs Michaels and throws him through the ropes… but Jannetty comes back with a huge superkick and Ax is reeling… Jannetty with a big tag to Michaels and he comes in and we got a double SUPERKICK on Ax and he goes down for the 1….2….3!! Just as Smash tried to get in the ring, the referee’s hand hit 3 and WE HAVE NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Jesse and Gorilla put this through the roof. It is time for the War Zone. Gorilla even states that this match may not be suitable for some of our younger viewers… viewer discretion is advised. Here we go… WAR ZONE MATCH Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, & The Ultimate Warrior vs Terry Funk, Jake Roberts, & Rick Rude The War Zone ends up being quite the sight… the cage is up and we see Terry Funk walk out to the ring as he’s about to attack fans left and right. The crowd then explodes when Randy Macho Man Savage comes out to the ring and scales the cage! We finally get to see these two men do battle and they’ve got five-minutes to beat the hell out of one another and they do just that. Savage sends Funk flying from one side of the ring to the other. Funk is slowly able to get control with a low blow but Savage fights back as time is running down… 3….2….1… Jake the Snake Roberts enters the War Zone Jake comes down to the ring and enters through the door. He goes right for Savage and these guys now have a 2 on 1 advantage for 2-minutes. Jake and Funk do their worst to Savage and end up tying him up in the ropes before delivering some serious blows to his skull. Elizabeth looks worried outside the ring. They untie him from the ropes but Savage gets a couple of deep shots and then a backdrop on Funk into the cage and Savage hits Roberts with an elbow! The numbers game is just too much… Funk and Jake control Savage as the time runs down… Dusty Rhodes enters the War Zone The American Dream comes out to a nice pop and he is going to even the odds. He jumps in the ring and he’s got elbows and punches for everyone! Rhodes is rocking and rolling right now and the fans are frantic! Funk and Jake both feed for him and Rhodes gets Savage back up and he shakes out the cobwebs before a fun little two on two contest. Jake nails Rhodes with a short jab and then he throws him into the cage and Rhodes is busted. On the other side of the ring Funk gets rocked with a couple of nasty jabs before his eye is busted open… Ravishing Rick Rude enters the War Zone The final team member runs down and it is the WWF Champion, Rick Rude! Rude runs into the ring and he is the equalizer. He hammers down on both Rhodes and Savage and then nails a pair of RUDE AWAKENINGS on them! Rude, Funk, and Roberts are now in complete control. They are kicking and hammering away. Elizabeth is screaming for Savage outside the ring while Heenan is over there just laughing his ass off. The final clock is running down… the War Zone is about to EXPLODE! The Ultimate Warrior enters the War Zone! HE’S BACK! The Warrior runs down to the ring like a house of fire but Rude and Jake are holding the cage door shut… Warrior then runs and hits Heenan with a clothesline before scaling the cage! Warrior meets Rude at the top and nails him with a big right hand that sends him flying into the ring. Jake comes up and gets kicked in the mush for his pleasure. Warrior then off the top rope with a fish drop on Funk and the crowd is going nuts. The Warrior has even the odds and perhaps put it in his team's favor! We get a fun six-man cage match with double teams and saves… its going back and forth with neither team taking the clear lead. We’ve got Rude, Savage, Dusty, and Funk all busted open. Our first big moment happens when Jake Roberts tries to slither his way up the cage and here comes The Ultimate Warrior… they climb up the cage and battle up to the top and then down but here comes Dusty to grab Jake through the cage and Warrior leaps down! Warrior has gain a point for his team but so has Jake Roberts who falls and crumbles to the floor. It is a texas-tornado tag match inside now and everyone is juiced. Rude and Funk tie Dusty up in the ropes before pounding away with some big time right hands and then Funk with a boot and Rhodes collapses down. Savage then comes out of the fire with some huge shots and he has saved the American Dream. Rude begins to ascend the cage while Rhodes makes chase… they get to the top and Rhodes then hammers Rude’s head on the top of the cage and he goes flying back in the ring… Rhodes climbs down for a 2 - 1 advantage… but inside the ring now… Randy Savage is face to face with Funk and Rude! Funk and Rude end up getting the upper hand and tearing Savage apart. Savage, a bloody mess, does everything he can but just can’t fight back. We see Rude and Funk then start to climb the cage… Savage is slowly getting up… outside the ring we see Jake Roberts attack Dusty from behind and these two battle to the back… Rude is on the top but Savage goes for Funk and stops him between the big blue bars! Rude is going down but the Warrior is there to CATCH HIM! OH MY! Warrior grabs Rude and hoists him on his back and runs to the back with him… what the hell is going on here!?! On the other side of the cage… Savage has pulled Funk up and over the cage… then he sends him flying in the ring and Funk sells it like crazy… Savage can win it… he climbs up… but then he stops… and looks out to the crowd… then goes to the top of the cage… FLYING ELBOW DROP! OMG! Savage off the top of the cage and the fans are going absolutely crazy! Savage is slow to get up but he climbs the cage and makes his way out of the ring to the floor into the arms of Elizabeth! The bell rings… the crowd explodes… Savage, Rhodes, and Warrior have won the War Zone… Savage stands here as the winner and Funk is still inside the ring motionless. Gorilla and Jesse put this over like crazy as SummerSlam fades to black with the image of Savage and Elizabeth raising their arms in victory! Autistic Dragon
Controversial call by President Tunney to start us off. Gotta give Hart credit, I would have thought he'd pick a side by now but he's determined to make it work. Between Dusty, Andre, Savage and the Warrior, Rude has some tough competition ahead. What are you up to Jake? Martel throwing out the open challenge! The Rougeau Brothers have new belts, a seeming new manager in Jimmy Hart..... and maybe even a new friend in Jack Tunney! spaldoni
Summerslam! Oh yea! Duggan gets a guitar blast from Earthquake and a kick from Haku. Rough night! Steiners win the US titles in the Rougeaus homeland. What a match and what a moment! Martel is all in on this gimmick and gets a nice showcase against Snuka. I thought Duggan had a rough night but Bossman's might be worse. Slick will be serving hard time after that slap. On the flip side, the Skyscrapers have to be considered serious contenders. Davey Boy looked incredible tonight. Tito brought his A game but Muta is on a different level right now. Well, we all knew this was just about the visual. Thankfully Andre ended things relatively quickly and remains the true giant. After one heck of a chase, the Rockers finally win the world titles! Fun match with an exciting ending. Damn! The War Zone match was off the charts! Fantastic write up and easy to follow. It gave the fans everything they could have ask for. Savage gets the visual of the night to end the show on the highest of notes. Awesome job! Raw, Good job with the Summerslam follow up. We got some solid promos and have a sense on where things are going. There are so many contenders for Rude right now and that's exactly how it should be. The second half of 89 will be very interesting. WOW! Just like that the Rougeaus are the new US champs. I love the idea of an all American boys US title reign. Bring on the heat. Autistic Dragon
Tunney looking awful suss right now. Valentine being booted from the Foundation is finally made official. Great showing by the Heenan Family. Paul E must consider his issue with Slick settled if he's picking a fight with the Macho Man. The Rockers get a chance to show off. Well the Steiner's technically won the main event. Let's see if Tunney honors the deal.

It's cool seeing a couple of legendary figures like Rhodes and Andre teaming up. Looking forward to Rude and Warrior locking horns. Tito looking strong. Speaking of partners, looks like Valentine found one in Hacksaw Duggan. Bad night for the Russians Jake is tuned up and ready for Rhodes. Rockers have a serious challenge coming with the Powers of Pain. Damn! Savage brings out Bossman and we get a wild ending! I'm all for Muta vs. Savage! After everything, Slick and Paul E have united. That's trouble! You're bringing a lot of excitement and drama to the WWF. Keep up the great work.

We also hear that the Powers of Pain will be challenging the Rockers on Sept 28 for the WWF Tag team championship and they have a plan in place to put the Rockers down and roll them over like the teenie bopper wannabes that they are! Rude then turns it back to the Ultimate Warrior who will be taking on King Haku. Rude says unlike the Giant… the blood doesn’t flow to the brain of the warrior because he doesn’t have one or else he’d retire and stop chasing the best wrestler in the world and the WWF title! We’re back on Raw and here comes the former WWF Champion Randy Macho Man Savage! He comes out to address Paul E Dangerously and the Dangerous Alliance. He says that they have unleashed the Madness inside of him and he is going to show him why they call him Randy Savage! Savage says he knows what Dangerously is all about and he’s going to take what is precious most to him and drive his elbow right through his heart…. He is challenging the Great Muta to a one on one match right here on Raw next week! In a spectacle of a main event… Andre the Giant came out to face the Skyscrapers with Paul Heyman but he was alone. He is going to be Andre’s partner against Spivey and Mean Mark. These guys put on a fun 12-minute match with Savage getting in there for a majority and Andre making the huge hot tag. Just when it seems like Andre is going to finish things off… we see Muta come out but Andre is able to stop him and he is trying to choke him out but Muta with the MYST! Autistic Dragon
Bulldog is on quite the roll. Martel offers to take on Muta, title vs title! The Rougeau Brothers are always great at getting heat. Duggan and Valentine make quite a pair. Rhodes is lucky Bossman is committed to looking out for him because between Slick's men and Jake Roberts he's got some heavy hitters after him. September 28th is poised to be a big night for the Heenan. Savage declares war on the Dangerous Alliance but Funk isn't done with him yet leading to chaos at the show's end. spaldoni
I like how Tunney doesn't seem to have a clue on what's going on. Bulldog is quickly moving into title contention. Martel puts it all on the line against Muta. Heel Rougeaus are the best. I guess common enemies do make for strange alliances. Valentine and Duggan sure are examples of that. Speaking of enemies, Dusty is making a lot. Good thing he has some heavy hitting friends. The next SNME is already looking stacked! Never forget about Terry Funk! Savage has a lot on his plate right now.
LowBlowPodcast
Sept 23 WWF Raw Raw has a cold open with Terry Funk and Paul E Dangerously shaking hands in the back. We see Muta and the Skyscrapers in the background. Paul E is telling Funk how much of a legend he is and how he would be a perfect addition to the Dangerous Alliance. Funk says that he will do whatever it takes to get Randy Savage out of this business forever! Paul E announces that tonight - Muta is going to be the one to set him up and Funk can be the one who will finish him off! HAHAHA! Raw opens with Jesse and Vince putting over the big night… we will see Randy Savage taking on the Great Muta! We’ll see the updated card for this Saturday’s Saturday Night Main Event in which 3 titles will be on the line… plus tonight… the Steiner Brothers team up with Hacksaw Duggan to take on Dino Bravo and the Rougeau Brothers… right now we kick things off with the ULTIMATE WARRIOR! The Ultimate Warrior defeated Boris Zhukov. We hear from Rick Rude and Bobby Heenan during the match. They let us know that this weekend… the Warrior has to face the execution by the King… and when it is all said and done… Rick Rude is going to slay the Giant! The Heenan family will then ruin the lives of the Rockers once and for all. This will be a night the family will remember forever! We get a promo from Rick Martel who is holding the Million Dollar Title and he lets everyone know that money can’t just buy happiness and goods but it is also going to win him the Intercontinental Championship once again when he takes on the Great Muta! Koko B Ware defeated John Marcus via the Ghostbuster! Dusty Rhodes is on the mic to let us know that he is on the lookout for Jake Roberts… he is coming on a Snake Hunt and he is going to put him out in the cold baby. Rhodes says he’s looked high and low for Jake and he’s nowhere to be found! Dusty says he’ll be waiting for him whenever he gets a spine… oh wait… snakes don’t have spines! The Steiner Brothers & Hacksaw Duggan were defeated by Dino Bravo & The Rougeau Brothers when Earthquake got involved and cost them the match. We saw a lot of tag action and Duggan was very over with the USA chant. The 4 on 3 lasted for a moment until Grag Valentine showed up and evened the odds. The big moment saw the Steiners double clothesline Earthquake out of the ring to the floor! Andre the Giant is in the back and he is telling Mean Gene that he is the one true giant of wrestling and this weekend… he will become the one true world champion. He is tired of guys like Rick Rude who want to control everything and put the fans down. The champion is a man of the people and Andre wants to give the title to all the people! The Big Bossman defeated Ray Guy via the Bossman Slam! The One Man Gang and Slick got on the stick to tell Bossman that they can’t wait to unleash Zeus on the Bossman and show him exactly what truth and justice is all about! The Rockers pump up their issue with the Powers of Pain this weekend… they know what they bring to the table but size and strength can be countered by speed and spirit and that’s two things the Rockers have plenty of… plus they got the titles and they aren’t going anywhere! Demolition defeated Xavier Strong & Phil Watson via the decapatation device! Demolition then get on the stick with Mean Gene to put over how they are the former tag team champions and that means something. It means that they can get the titles back and they will be on the hunt. They will be catching a bird’s eye view of the match this weekend and whomever walks away with the gold is going to walk right into them! Davey Boy Smith with a quick promo putting over his run in the WWF. He says he will be the one playing a tune next week when he faces the Honkytonk Man! It is time for our main event and we see the Great Muta come out with Paul E and Sherri. They are quite the spectacle but then the Macho Man’s music hits… but he’s a no show. We see Howard Finkle talking to the referee… the music hits again and nothing… we see Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco walk out and they say something to Hebner then to Finkle… the music hits and here he comes… The Macho Man walks out and he has got his ribs heavily taped up. He is selling something… he makes his way to the ring and he is eye to eye with Muta. Randy Savage and the Great Muta fought to a no-contest that lasted around 12-minutes. These two gave us a glimpse of what could have been. Muta was merciless on Savage’s ribs… he kicked them into submission and Savage even spit up some blood to sell it. Savage gets in some offense which is getting the crowd loud but Muta comes back with some nasty shots. The finish sees Muta and Savage going blow for blow but they go over the top to the floor. They continue to fight but then out of the crowd… that damned Terry Funk grabs Savage and Muta starts hammering away. The referee calls for the bell. This one is over. Muta steps back and then comes for a GREEN MYST but Savage moves and MYST all over Funk’s face! Savage with a huge shot on Muta and runs him into the ringpost! Savage pulls Funk over the guardrail and starts hammering away at him! The crowd is going wild! Patterson and Brisco run down… they are pulling Savage off. What is going to happen this weekend at SNME?!?
Autistic Dragon
Hennan is confident that his family will sweep the board at SNME. But they've got some tough competition waiting for them. Slick is ready to sick Zeus on the Bossman. The Rockers aren't afraid of a bit of Pain. What happened to Savage? Whatever or whoever it was, Macho Man fights through it until Funk arrives. Though after that miscue with Muta's myst, I don't think the Funker will be too keen on joining the Alliance.
rainmakerrtv
Big fan of the 1990 match between the Rockers and the PoP , can't see how this feud turns out.
spaldoni
Oh man Paul E enlists Terry Funk! Sooner or later, Rude and Warrior are heading for a showdown. Martel wants more than his million dollar title. Dusty's on the hunt for a snake. Steiners take the defeat but stand tall in the end. I wonder how Rude will get past Andre. Bossman and Zeus will be an interesting match up. Looks like Demolition will be keeping an eye on the Rockers/POP match. The tag division is strong in the WWF. Even with bandaged ribs, Savage still manages to get the best of both Muta and Funk. SNME is going to be a wild night!
LowBlowPodcast
Sept 28 - Saturday Night’s Main Event Ultimate Warrior: WAR! WAR! WAR! I am here with the power of 1,000 warriors who have sacrificed all that they have to be immortal. We have fallen at the hands of kings and queen for thousands of years… but know this… tonight… King Haku… you are going to be crowned but not with gold and diamonds but fists of fury… passion… and FIRE! WARRRRRRRR! Bobby Heenan: Well the Ultimate Maniac thinks he’s going to crown the King… HA! You will be on your hands and knees begging for forgiveness… just like the Rockers will be doing when my Powers of Pain inflict so much pain on them their parents won’t even recognize them! Lastly… Rick Rude is going to chop that Giant down and give him the Rude Awakening of a lifetime! Rick Martel: You see this… it is the Million Dollar title… this… this is the million dollar body… and this is a million dollar face… I have it all and soon I will have the Intercontintenal Championship back where it belongs! Paul E: IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT! THE LIGHTS ARE BRIGHT! THE STARS ARE OUT! From the land of the rising sun comes the Pearl of the Orient… the undefeated… undisputed Intercontinental Champion, the Great Muta! He took this title from you Martel and we don’t plan on giving it back! Rick Rude: Fee fi fo fum… I am the Ravishing One. The WWF title is the one true Gem of the WWF and Andre the Giant - I can’t wait to chop you down to size and give you the rudest awakening of all! Andre the Giant: No more time for talk… Rick Rude… soon my hands will be around your throat and the title will be around my waist! The Ultimate Warrior vs King Haku w/ Heenan We kick things off with a bang here as the Warrior comees out to a huge ovation and Haku meets him in the ring and he’s ready for some big time shots. Warrior is slow to sell but it looks like Haku gives him a little mothan he can handle and he decides to play ball. Haku and Warrior have a decent little match but it is the Warrior show and he gives everyone the view of what he could become. Haku goes for the savat kick but Warrior ducks and hits the ropes for a huge shoulder block! Haku then gets up and Warrior with the huge PRESS SLAM! Warrior hits the ropes and BIG SPLASH! 1…2….3! Warrior with the huge win and he looks for Heenan and he makes a run for it… The Z-Man vs Jake the Snake Roberts Roberts put a pretty bad beating on Zenk. It was over from the beginning… Jake just hammered away at him. Jake plays his role to a T and Jesse and Vince put it over in a big way. The DDT spells the end for Zenk who puts up a gallant fight but doesn’t get too far. WWF Championship Andre the Giant vs Rick Rude © w/ Heenan Who would have guessed it… this is a marquee match anywhere in the world and these two really put on a show. Rude just plays cat and dog with Andre. When Andre grabs him, Rude sells like crazy and makes the big man look like a million dollars. Heenan is trying to play his role outside the ring and he continues to cause some disruptions but Andre stops it all by stepping on Heenan’s hand and Bobby sells it like crazy. Rude tries to get some offense in but Andre is just too big and he honestly can’t play ball too much. Rude does look like he is in a good spot but Andre fights back and a couple of big headbutts and then a nice bodyslam! Heenan looks like he hands something to Rude… Heenan is up on the apron… Andre with a huge headbutt and Heenan goes flying. Andre turns around and Rude with a huge right hand… Andre falls back into the ropes but then falls forward onto RUDE! Andre is passed out on Rude for the 1….2….3!!! Andre has won the world title? The crowd is going wild… Rude is still under Andre and finally gets out! Andre rolls into the turnbuckle… Hebner hands him the WWF title… Rude is going nuts! Heenan is going wild! What has happened here?!? WWF Intercontinental Championship vs Million Dollar Championship Rick Martel (K) vs Great Muta © w/ Paul Heyman Their match at WrestleMania had some more meat to the bones but Muta once again, steps up, and faces one of the strongest challengers in the WWF right now. These two go about 12-minutes and we see a couple of good highlights with Muta doing a flying crossbody out of the ring to the floor! Martel gets control outside the ring and locks in the Boston Crab on the floor! Paul E looks like he’s going to wallop Martel but then he breaks the move… when Martel turns around… Muta with the GREEN MYST! OH MY! Martel’s face is covered but he’s got the mask on… however his eyes are still shown! We see Martel remove the mask and the outline of the myst is on his face, and although it looks comical… it is in fact a dq. Martel wins but no titles change hands. Paul E ushers Muta to the back… I don’t know…. This seems like a miss opportunity! Jack Tunney is in the back with Heenan and Rude… they are going nuts… Rude is telling Tunney that he used the brass knucks and that he should be disqualified! Heenan is saying he has cheated in every title defense but should keep the title! Tunney looks at Heenan with a smirk… hmm… he says he will identify the problem… and be back… WWF Tag Team Championship The Rockers © vs The Powers of Pain w/o Heenan Heenan isn’t out there… the POP don’t seem to need him and they put on a helluva match with the Rockers. We may have seen one title change hands tonight but the Rockers are going to fight their asses off to keep the gold here. Barb and Warlord are strong competitors and show off their strength. Marty Jannetty goes flying over the top rope to the floor! Michaels has to check on his partner… they try to get back in the ring and keep the fight coming but the Powers of Pain continue to beat the hell out of these two. Michaels and Jannetty continue to push… they use their speed… they double team… they do everything they can. Heenan finally comes out to the ring to try and help but he ends up being a distraction when the Rockers double dropkick Barb off the apron into him. Then we see Michaels go for a crucifix on the Warlord and here comes Jannetty with a nasty superkick and Michaels rolls him up for the 3-count! The Rockers have won it! Heenan can’t believe it. The POP may have had the titles in hand here… this is crazy… Vince puts over how Jack Tunney is in the back…. He has an announcement about the WWF title! Tunney is standing by with Patterson and Brisco as Mean Gene asks him what’s happening with the WWF title… Tunney states that after replaying the event, it was shown that Rick Rude did use a pair of brass knuckles to hit Andre the Giant, thus the match should have been a disqualification. However, during the match, the referee didn’t see the hit and counted the shoulders down for the 3-count. Therefore… I have to announce… that the WWF title is going to be held up for the next two days and will be decided in a REMATCH on Monday Night Raw between Ravishing Rick Rude and Andre the Giant… but I WILL BE AT RINGSIDE! Control21
Really loved this edition of SNME, some great matches lived up to their potential, especially the main event. I'm sure Martel and Muta delivered in terms of quality despite the dusty finish. Also, really nice to see Andre the Giant with the WWF title again (well, briefly at least)!
