sek69 Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 I know a lot of things suck both in wrestling and the world at the current time, but Roxanne getting a win in her hometown and it clearly showing in her face how much it meant to her reminded me why I love this stupid fucked up business.
sek69 Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 It feels wild to type this sentence, but I think Roman may be at that level where you just won't get the fans to boo him at all anymore.
JRH Posted April 28 Posted April 28 The NXT PLEs are now going to air on the CW. At least they're throwing a bone to those who cant afford streaming services.

They're absolutely not throwing a bone. They could not get a streaming deal for them, as showed by the fact Stand & Deliver was showed on Youtube. So CW is getting them for free, as part of the pre-existing deal.
The Thread Killer Posted April 28 Posted April 28 It only applies to the United States, from what I understand. NXT weekly TV and PLE’s have been, and will continue to be available on Netflix internationally. Which is weird to begin with, since we get the CW here in Canada as part of basic cable, but whatever. Just means less commercials. Not that I have a ton of interest in NXT PLE’s anyhow, considering over the past 6 months or so, pretty much every single watchable talent has been called up to the Main Roster. Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Jordynne Grace and now Blake Monroe, Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, Ricky Saints, Sol Ruca and all 3 members of Fatal Influence. The pickings are starting to get mighty slim in NXT.
JRH Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Another interesting wrinkle in this situation is that the Roku channel has picked up next-day streaming rights for CW programming, including NXT (Roku Channel is free, so it's free whether you watch it on tv or stream the next day): https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/technology/articles/cw-network-sets-partnership-roku-140000613.html
NotJayTabb Posted May 1 Posted May 1 NXT almost feels like it's been rebooted for the 3rd time, big old turnover of talent in the past few weeks with a lot of big names leaving for the main roster and a bunch of debuts coming up from Evolve and elsewhere, which I guess is the nature of developmental. There's still things there I'm interested in though: Tavion Heights finally looks to be getting a renewed push and the current Myles Borne title run feels like a good next step for 2 guys who've been bubbling under for a while. Will Kroos debuting was a big surprise, he doesn't look like a typical WWE signing, but he can move for a big lad. Lizzy Rain is a good worker and will hopefully add some meat to the bones of her admittedly one-dimensional gimmick, and Kali Armstrong from Evolve feels like a future star. It might take a month or so to click, but there's stuff to be excited about for sure.
sek69 Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 The CW and ESPN struck a deal for all of CW's sports (including NXT) to also be on ESPN Unlimited, which is pretty impressive. Also I saw John Cena putting over Will Kroos on social media, so that's surely a sign WWE sees something in him.
El-P Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I'm hearing Ricky Saints finally debuted on the infamous "main roster" after two years of nonexistent hype, culminating with the top tier embarrassing "Tony Fumbled" chant on NXT. Here he is, back alongside Royce Keys. You know what it means right ? THIS IS RAMPAGE BABY !
The Thread Killer Posted May 2 Posted May 2 If Danhausen doesn’t pick Mr. Iguana to be his partner at Backlash, I’m calling this whole thing a big missed opportunity, I’m just saying.
The Thread Killer Posted May 6 Posted May 6 That vignette they showed introducing him was pretty well done. He’s got a great look and aura.
sek69 Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 He's actually pretty good in the ring when not saddled with HOT bullshit.
sek69 Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 Vic asking Booker if he ever got a match moved mid show, and I'm over here like "he worked in WCW, so probably"
sek69 Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 Bron vs Seth didn't really do it for me, but Trick and Sami unsurprisingly had a fun match.
sek69 Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 They got a mini from AAA to be a Mini-hausen, that's actually pretty brilliant.

It's amazing to me that Danhausen is more of a starhausen after two seconds in WWEhausen than he everhausen was in AEWhausen. AEWhausen does a lot of things wellhausen, but this is one of their biggest drawbackhausens.
sek69 Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 Love seeing Danhousen being able to show he can work in the ring here.
C.S. Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Danhausen grabs the tag rope. Good to see he's an old-school territory era wrestler.
sek69 Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 All the lucha sickos just shouted at their TVs at the claim of this being the first 2 night Triplemania.
The Thread Killer Posted May 9 Posted May 9 If Lil Yachty is going to be active on a regular basis in WWE, then somebody really needs to explain to him the concept of selling. Zayn beat the living crap out of him with that Kendo Stick, and he was back up seconds later as if nothing had happened. Then Zayn flattened him with the running kick, only for Yachty to pop into the ring, and start dancing and throwing money around moments later. When it takes your wrestlers longer to recover from things than some skinny rapper, it doesn’t look good for anybody.

Both guys looked really rusty to me. Seth blew a couple of spots so badly, I could barely figure out what he was trying to do. And that spot where he came off the top rope and landed on his feet, but both his knees buckled made me cringe. At least the right person went over.
sek69 Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 A yearly showcase of NXT talent is a pretty cool idea, not sure if doing the first one in a rebuilding year is ideal or not.
