Autistic Dragon
Airing 4/9/90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Onondaga War Memorial in Syracuse NY* *We start the show with Mean Gene narrating a highlight reel from WrestleMania VI* Match #1 (Wrestling Challenge) The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch) defeat two jobbers with the "Bushwhacker Battering Ram". WWF Update: Mean Gene hypes that on April 28th the WWF is holding a special "double header" event, one half of which will take place in the Spectrum in Philadelphia with a absolutely massive main event as new WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior defends against Earthquake! Back in the studio Heenan says Warrior better pray Earthquake takes the title off him because otherwise he has to deal with a ticked off Rick Rude. He also reminds people that as reigning King, Haku is set to challenge for the title at the King of the Rng PPV in London. Monsoon asks what Rude will do if Haku gets the title off Warrior first to which Heenan makes a lot of noise but doesn't actually say anything. Match #2 Tugboat squishes some The Comet Kid with the "Capsize". Sean Mooney takes us to a special video taped backstage at WrestleMania. Dusty Rhodes is in the trainers room getting checked on while the man who came to his rescue is standing by. Dusty says that as sore as he is he's never been prouder as a man and especially as a father. He introduces the taller blonde man as his eldest son "the apple of my eye & the fruit of my loins" Dustin Rhodes! Dustin steps forward and says he came to Mania to route his father on but when he saw what Funk and the Texas Outlaws were about to do, he couldn't help himself. He says that he;lol show the Outlaws or anyone else why you don't mess with the Rhodes family! Match #3 (RAW) Silver King takes the win with the "Silver Driver" (kneeling belly to belly Piledriver) The ending of the Toronto Street Fight plays with the large Viking themed man helping the POP retain. Monsoon says it's a good thing Heenan had that wild man nearby to bail his team out. Heenan says there are no rules in a street fight so he & his men didn't do anything wrong. He has unleashed The Berzerker on the WWF and he has one mission, to tear through anyone Heenan declares a threat to the Family. Match #4 Koko B. Ware defeats "Le Commandant" Frenchy Martin with the "Ghostbuster". Mean Gene is back with the second half of the "double header" event on the 28th. The WWF returns to the Boston Garden and in the main event the WWF Tag Team Championship will be on the line. Due to blatant interference at Mania, the championship committee has declared that The Powers of Pain will defend against Demolition one more time....inside a steel cage! Match #5 Hiro Hase defeats "Hollywood" Bob Holly with the "Northern Lights" suplex. Feature Match. Dr Tom Prichard defeats "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr with a running bulldog. spaldoni
Huge announcement with Warrior defending against Earthquake. Then we hear Warrior will defend against Haku. King of the Ring is the perfect setting for that. No doubt about it, Warrior has a lot of contenders lining up. Looking forward to the Rhodes working together. This is a good time in Dusty's career to tag up with his son. I'm hoping Silver King gets a push. I always thought he was pretty cool. Damn, the Berzerker will make an awesome gatekeeper for the Heenan Family. POP vs. Demolition inside the cage! Bring it on! Hase's been racking up some wins. Prichard and Orton are two guys that can deliver. Fun TV main event. Great follow up to Mania. I like the direction the WWF is going.
Autistic Dragon
Airing 4/16/90 on HBO. *Unless stated otherwise matches were taped at the Glenn Falls Civic Center in Glenn Falls NY* Match #1 (Wrestling Challenge) Jake "The Snake" Roberts defeats Joe Champ with the DDT. WWF Update: The next Saturday Night's Main Event will air May 17th from the Centrum in Worcester Massachusetts. This event will hold the final King's Court Match before King of the RIng in London meaning it's the last place to take the crown from Haku's head as well as the WWF Championship match that comes with it. Match #2 (RAW) Nailz w/"The Doctor of Style" Slick defeats Jim McPherson with "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly" A vignette airs with a dull looking man walking dejectedly through past a barbershop. The door suddenly opens and a muscular man with flowing hair whisks him inside. After examining him for a bit the man gets to work as a small crowd mostly of admiring women gather round. He finishes and the other man is totally transformed and leaves with a couple of the women in tow. The barber turns toward the camera with a satisfied grin. Â Match #3 (RAW) "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes defeats Chris Duffy with a swinging vertical suplex. Dusty is on commentary for the match and is as proud as he can be when he dubs the match winning move "Natural Selection" baby! We see a recently aired interview Mean Gene did with Earthquake & Frenchy Martin. Earthquake says what he did to Andre at Mania will be a slight tremor compared to the quake he drops on the Warrior in Philly. Says he proved he's the WWF"s one true giant and after the 28th he'll be its one true champion! Match #4 The Berzerker w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeats Sonny Blaze after beating the hell out of him then chucking him over the top rope and letting the ref count him out. Event Center: It's announced that on the 28th in the Boston Garden there will be a special one night 8 man tournament to determine who will challenge Haku in the King's Court Match at SNME. Match #5 Silver King defeats "Russian Brute" Boris Zhukov with a La Magistral cradle. Match #6 Tito Santana defeats El Gato with a flying forearm. Event Center: Another big match is added to the show on Philadelphia on the 28th as Fuji's Samoan Headhunters will challenge the Commonwealth for the WWF US Tag Team Championship. Match #7 Billy Jack Haynes defeats The Iron Sheik after powering out of the "Camel Clutch" and getting Sheik to submit to the Full Nelson. Feature Match. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeats "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch with the Three Point Lariat to a huge hometown pop.
spaldoni
The WWF is going full throttle! Big cards in Philly and Boston, plus SNME and KOTR! Exciting times. It's great seeing Beefcake back home. And we get him in full Barber gimmick. Nice touch having Dusty put over Dustin's finisher. Warrior's reign is kicking off with a bang. Earthquake has some strong words for him. I always thought Berzerker's finisher was so creative and different. Silver King picks up his biggest WWF win. Samoans get a shot at the Commonwealth. That'll be a big banger of a match. Billy Jack rebounds well with a strong win over the Sheik. Satisfying win for Hacksaw. HOOOOOOO!
kevinmcfl
The WWF has so many huge things on the horizon with SNME and KOTR and all the big cities!! Great intro with the Barber. That was a fun read. Dusty on the mic for Dustin was cool. I love the roster set up as Warrior has some believable people coming after him with Earthquake being first up! Great ending to the show with some big names in the last two matches. A win over the Iron Sheik really helps to put someone over. Duggan over Murdoch ... love this match--- main event down in the old Midsouth!!

spaldoni
With Slick's promos and Big Cat just looking bad and cool, you're onto something here Damn, that Berzerker finish was one hell of a visual. Warrior vs. Nailz is a classic WWF house show feud. You built Nailz up as a serious threat and that win kicks off Warrior's reign with a bang. With a strong win at Mania, it made total sense that the American Eagles would get some title shots. Nice continuity. A Bad News/Vader feud could be a huge money maker. Rude gets his heat back and I'm sure will want a rematch for the title. Solid house shows.

spaldoni
Great job making Earthquake look like a monster heading into his match with Warrior. Looks like the Texas Outlaws still have unfinished business Wont be long before the Fantastics get a title shot Love those first round match ups. Kevin gets another shot at Jake. I have a feeling Snuka and Nailz will be insane. Brutus and Orton are evenly matched. Silver King and Poffo will be an exciting and fast paced match. Good stuff. I cant wait for the Demolition/POP cage finale. When Bad News tells you to back off, you better back off. Vader's in full beast mode. Rude's working his way back into title contention.

spaldoni
Philly, I'm sure the patriotic Ross had the fans on his side when he took down Sheiky. Valiant and Albano are quite the visual together The feud with the Rhodes and Duggan vs. the Outlaws is going to get bloody Rude's been racking up wins. I wonder if we're going to get a Tito/Berzerker program. Big title defense for the Commonwealth It took a lot, but Warrior takes down Earthquake and looked like a strong champion. Boston, That sneaky Genius literally pulls one over on Silver King The Barber is back and advances over the Ace Nailz looks like a monster and thanks to Kev and Jake's draw, he gets a ticket to the finals Nice payback for Silver King as he helps Bruti advance. A Poffo/Silver King feud could be a lot of fun. Beefcake's return is solidified with the tournament win. spaldoni
Cat-atonic. I've said it before, you have the best finisher names. I really think you have something going here with Slick and Big Cat Great heat for the Rougeaus by bringing out Canadian belts. Very creative. Bees and Badd Co. in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Bring it on! Beefcake is red hot right now but Heenan lays a serious threat down. New IC champ Bravo gets a chance to shine. Wow, Dustin must have been pretty fired up if Dusty had to calm him down. This brings even more serious intensity to the feud. Cool seeing the Doctor of Desire making his mark in the WWF Vader powerbombs both Bushwhackers proving he's a threat to everybody. The WWF has been so entertaining to read.
kevinmcfl
I really enjoyed catching up on the WWF. For me, The Texas Outlaws vs The Rhodes is my favorite angle right now but I am an old NWA guy at heart! I think you doing an awesome job using all the big cities with huge cards but not giving away everything at these shows. You have a great feel for the business side of wrestling in the early 1990's as the real money is in the big pay-per views instead of the house shows like in the 80's.

kevinmcfl
Looking forward to the Battle Royal at SNME. I think Battle Royals are great ways to hype up a title as some many people are gunning for that shot!! It also allows you to slow play an angle as you can just use this as a title shot where the title stays with the champ until the real challenger is set or you can just build up the winner after the Battle Royal until the big bout

spaldoni
Nailz vs. Valiant is such an oddball match up but I would be all over it There's just something about the Genius/Silver King feud that makes it so entertaining. The Fantastics can deliver a lot of classics with this tag roster Haynes and Nikolai get to shine. I wouldn't mind seeing these two cross paths. You have quite a choice to make for Bravo's next challenger. The two names that stick out to me are Bad News and Prichard. SNME will be a great set up for KOTR. Cant wait to see how all this unfolds. The DDT is always a great way to end a show.

spaldoni
The promos set the tone and we're ready for SNME! Vader is a monster in the battle royal, but in the end the Doctor of Desire stands tall and gets his shot at Bravo. The Genius outwits Silver King to win a battle. Wow, the WWF scores big by booking Elton John for KOTR Dustin gets a little too excited and Funk puts him down with the branding iron. More to come. Oh no, Rude looks a little annoyed with Heenan. This could get interesting. In the midst of all the chaos, Haku keeps his crown. Warrior vs. Haku will be epic. The line up for KOTR looks damn good. The Bees prevail in yet another classic showdown with Badd Co. The Bees earned their title shot. This was a really good set up for KOTR. Great job
jeff5819
Love the old school promos to kick start SMNE. Gives it a true feel of 1990s WWF. Action packed Battle Royal opener that made look like an absolute animal. Intrigued to see what's next for Prichard in his hunt for IC gold. Great interview by the Outlaws. Funk is pure gold here. No surprise that the Genius has to cheat to win. As English man seeing the announcement by Elton John about Wembley and him singing God Save the Queen brought a smile to my face. Dustin's in experience mixed with Funks branding Iron surely means this feud isn't over by any means. Pure vintage Heenan next although it appears that not all is well within the family. It's Kings Court chaos next which allows for Haku to keep his crown. Looks like the Warrior has his eyes on the crown. Some intriguing matches set for the first round of the King of the Ring tournament although I find it interesting that the reigning King Haku isn't anywhere to be seen. The Bees book there place for a huge tag Title showdown in England. Overall great show featuring everything you could want from a Saturday Night's Main Event.
