AEW Double or Nothing 2025

Both Owen finals and AitA look great, while almost everything else (okay, other than the tag titles) has potential to get there or at least over-deliver. And its a 3 day weekend which means I won't be getting antsy when the main event starts around sunrise.

Let's go!

Is it me or has Jamie Hayer seems to have lost whatever it was that had her so over before the injury?

Its not as simple as the gear but everything about her presentation other than the surprise return and ensuing pop have been trash. Its felt very start & stop without much focus until the Owen. Hopefully they can heat her up again as tonight showed she can still go at a high level. A heel turn might do her some good and let her work against Toni, Willow (maybe Stat?).

But, also, that 70s Show gear. Sheesh.

Fantastic main event, and the right guy won imo. Ospreay will have his time, he gains in defeat. Tremendous match, and that table breaking prematurely added to the danger.

A classic PPV, one of AEW's best ones.

I was sports entertained. I think the only thing that was iffy was FTR vs DC/Nigel tag and that seemed mostly because Nigel was either gassed or rocked or both about half way through the match making the back half seem real awkward. Undisputed vs Callis Fam probably could have been cut just to make the show a little shorter, but also there needed to be some kind of buffer match between Anarchy and the main.

One of my favorite tropes in modern wrestling is hitting moves of your heated rivals as last gasp hail mary shots.

All In gonna be fucking loaded with Toni/Mercedes, Hanger/Mox, presumably Omega/Okada.

I thought it was a fine enough match but could not believe how much time they got. Multiple times said "This is STILL going on?"

Two weeks behind and I did not even get spoiled.

Awesome show, with only two minor quibbles about it (the usual ones, Hurt Syndicate having the worst match on the show, although better than usual thanks to Sammy, and the tag belts being dead in the water; the other one being the show going a bit too long with poor Paragon vs Don Callis family in a death spot). Mercedes vs Hayter, Okada vs Speedball (damn, if you know your Speedball and Okada well, it was obvious how smart this match was), Anarchy in the Arena (I could have used a different music theme though) and Hangman vs Ospreay were just awesome matches. With strong support from excellent Toni Storm vs Mina, Briscoe vs Ricochet and even FTR vs Nigel & Garcia (which did go a bit too long too, with Nigel being not quite up to it in spots but hey, 49 and "retiring" in 2011 will do that to you) and the six-men who deserve a lot of credit for working that hard after *that* match (hell, even the pre-show matches were really good).

All In in a stadium probably was not a smart idea (and I'm guessing TK will be more cautious about it now, London was fun, but it was an anomaly), but the show should be awesome anyway with what this is building too.
