  1. Ben Bassarab is your draft pick so I'm not sure why you even need to ask about him.
  2. Onrdorff & Hansen did work Georgia as babyfaces around this time period and Orndorff also had a stint as a face in 1981 Southeastern.
  3. Cowboy Lang & Little Toyko were great against each other, I would love to see that midget tag match.
  4. Good show. I like Dutch being anti-Armstrong, he cut a promo on the Armstrong family in my 1986 Continental watching that was hilarious. Interesting to see Cornette's addition as an interviewer, but I'm also a big fan of Stewart & Platt so I'll try not to let that bother me. *For the record Ken Lucas flew straight from this Southeastern morning TV episode to Texas for the Southwest show in Waco.

    WWECW

WWECW is really one of my favorite WWE things over the last decade. But I didn't watch any of this stuff either. I didn't start watching until the ECW after Mania 27. By then they had pretty much stopped being anything but a 3rd brand (no more trying to pretend it's a continuation of real ECW) and once it fully developed into being the bridge between developmental and Raw/Smackdown I thought it really hit it's groove.
  6. That's a bummer, I was really looking forward to your take on Portland. No chance of you changing your mind? I'd recommend leaving Portland as is for now while the smoke clears. It's a little bit late to shift wrestlers around, but still early enough for the territory to start up. There is still the possibility of rainmakertv deciding he wants to take it over, or someone else who has been reading along like maybe the Bottomlessjack guy.
  7. Well B seems unlikely and C might not even have that good of an outlook
  8. Yea but Wahoos Leg suddenly getting 22 extra people on his roster isn't really a good solution either. We already have the August newcomers thing that can serve as a way to disperse the Portland roster (assuming Matt D doesn't want to just take it over and delay shows until August)
  9. Well if you really intend to start writing shows for Portland in August, I'd be fine with you taking it and just waiting until August for Portland to start it's shows. Maybe add the Portland guys to freelancers for the month of July if KrisZ didn't mind taking on all the extra work?
  10. Well if you and rainmaker don't want it and no one else shows up to claim it, I definitely think the Portland roster should go into some type of dispersal draft and not just get gobbled up by one person as a "merger." Sure if you want to lay claim to the TOWNS go ahead, but not the roster.
  11. If you want it, I would PM Dylan about it. Or send a tweet for a faster response.
  12. I really do hate MITB and think it's time to get rid of it. It was a cool concept for the first few years but it's just totally played out now and the guy with the briefcase almost always looks like shit in the lead up to the cash in now since I guess the idea is "well we can make him the champ whenever so it doesn't matter how many times we beat him before then"?
  13. I guess Dylan can confirm/deny this but it would seem that Portland is now up for grabs if one of the assistant bookers wanted it:
  14. Don't worry I'll get around to you when I have the chance. Oh, my fault I should have been more clear that was really just a general statement and not directed at you.
  15. I haven't received a ton of my feedback on my first TV so if you looked at it and said "that's too long" you can feel free to leave that as feedback. Or if you just don't like me from the draft feel free to keep ignoring my thread.
  16. The world title would mean so much more if only guys at that level held it. It would also be pretty boring and stale. How many guys in WWE are at that level? Cena, Lesnar and who? Orton?
  17. I mean it COULD be but I don't really see why it HAS to be. If you want it to be the most important thing in the company then you're essentially stuck having to keep the title on the top guy at all times. So in WWE you could only really have Cena or Brock as champion. I like the way Bill Watts would book the North American title. It was always important but it wasn't always the main event program unless the very top guys were involved.
  18. During the airing of the July 9th Saturday TV, local promos were inserted for the Waco, TX market for the main event of Tully Blanchard & a mystery partner vs. Bob Sweetan & Scott Casey. After the final segment of the show another local promo was inserted to say that Killer Khan will be the mystery partner of Tully Blanchard for the night's main event in Waco, TX. Southwest Championship Wrestling @ Waco, TX - Convention Center July, 9th 1983 Fidel Sierra beat Juan Reynosa with a piledriver in 6:12 after a dominating performance Ken Lucas & Charlie Cook beat Ali Bey & Ninja Warrior in 11:44 after a flying tackle on Ali Bey by Charlie Cook Mike Masters beat Rick McGraw in 12:19 with a roll up The Fabulous Ones beat Eddy Mansfield & Terry Adonis in 8:52 with Lane pinning Terry Adonis after a Russian Legsweep Scott Casey & Bob Sweetan vs. Tully Blanchard & Killer Khan ended in a double countout in 17:52 with both teams having a crazy brawl around ringside using the timer's table and steel chairs to inflict punishment on each other. Finally the locker room has to be emptied to pull the two teams apart and an immediate rematch is announced for next week's main event on 7/16 in Waco.
  19. That's barely a step above Russo's condescending dismissal of a world championship as "the prop". I don't really disagree with their point though. Personal issues draw more money and get people more interested than chasing a gold belt. There are a hell of a lot more people who can relate to someone wanting to beat the hell out of their boss or wanting revenge over a friend's betrayal than people who can relate to chasing a championship.
  20. I actually had the time of each interview & segment on my original notes but I didn't see anyone else doing it so I took it out when I posted my TV. I actually think it helped me keep the show tight and focused. This is really good introductory show. You introduced your most important new talent and Piper vs. Sullivan definitely sounds interesting.
  21. If you main event WrestleMania, you ARE the top guy in the business. Why wouldn't someone put a premium on winning the title at WrestleMania instead of at Battleground?
  22. It's not that it isn't a big deal it's just that it isn't as big a deal as main eventing WrestleMania.
  23. People aren't stupid. Everyone knows you can have a title match on any Raw or Smackdown but you can only main event WrestleMania once a year.
  24. I would say at this point that main eventing WrestleMania means more than being a champion. Otherwise why would CM Punk be so bitter about having a 400+ day title reign but not being in the Mania main event?
  25. I really only liked CM Punk during his Straight Edge Society run. I never really thought he was all that good in the ring and always thought he was way over rated in that department, going back to people talking about him being the best thing on the ECW show while I was busy being in love with Big Daddy V & Colin Delaney. A lot of times during Punk's ECW title reign I would watch the whole show until the Punk match at which point I'd just delete the show off my DVR unless he was facing someone interesting (so yea I didn't see much of his Chavo feud) I voted Baba. I would rather watch a random Baba match over a random Punk match.
