  1. If Rey came back totally clean off steroids and HGH they wouldn't put him on TV.
  2. Bullshit. What about the wrestlers like Eddy Guerrero who died because their hearts couldn't pump enough blood to their grossly swollen organs? If Guerrero's HGH use occurred in a vacuum, sure. But Eddie had a myriad of other health issues, addictions to recreational drugs and painkillers, etc. His recreational drug abuse caused damage (I think thinning of the blood vessels was named specifically), absolutely, but it didn't cause that specific damage. Look at all the guys with GH guts. When you do enough GH that your stomach swells to the degree that people can tell by looking at you, that's not healthy and you're going to destroy their health if you keep it up. Also, keep in mind that when it comes to steroids and HGH, these guys are doing much, much, much, much, much more than what the safe doses would be. Time to being this back, I guess: I'd like to just highlight this point for the argument over whether it should/shouldn't be illegal. I'm sure a guy like Sylvester Stallone, who has said he's been on HGH for years is not going to have the physical changes (expanding gut/forehead) of guys who ABUSE the drug. A lot of the complication and health risks that guys get from steroids and HGH is not USE but ABUSE. Which is why I said I felt it would be better for them to be legal so guys could do it under the supervision of a doctor. Then the doctor can also monitor them to make sure they aren't getting complications like heart problems too.
  3. I'm not denying it. He's clearly juiced to the gills. But so is like 75% of the roster. Right, and George Burns living to be 100 proves that smoking isn't a big deal. Do you actually have any idea as to the history of how it became illegal? There was no public health crisis with doctors begging Congress to do something. This was someone in Congress getting mad about steroids in the Olympics and deciding to make it illegal regardless of anything else. From Wikipedia: "During deliberations, the American Medical Association (AMA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) all opposed listing anabolic steroids as controlled substances, citing the fact that use of these hormones does not lead to the physical or psychological dependence required for such scheduling under the Controlled Substance Act. Nevertheless, anabolic steroids were added to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act in the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990.[104]" If you are comfortable thinking everything Congress does is 100% A-OK and there's no reason to question them, well I don't really know how you breathe with your head in the sand.

What's bad about them? What exactly are they supposed to feud over other than "I would like that World Title you have" "That's quite understandable, however I'm not quite ready to cease possession" If you want me to fantasy book all the ideas into a more coherent form than what they did: I'd have made the feud over "Best in the World"/WWE Title until after WrestleMania. Since Jericho loses in a straight up match and sees he can't beat Punk that way, he decides to get into his head with all the family stuff. Didn't see a problem with Jericho pouring JD on him and smashing the bottle on his head. Would have had Punk not be on the show in England except for them showing Punk going into the pub and never coming out. Next week WWE sends someone (preferably J.R.) to Punk's house to check on him (with a video camera of course) after "no one is able to get in touch with him after Raw last week" and finds him there "drunk." Like totally copy the Jerry Lawler is drunk angle. Jericho crows about how he wants a Chicago Street Fight so he can drag the pathetic alcoholic Punk around his hometown and embarrass him. Then Punk shows up the PPV and beats the shit out of Jericho for the blow off. At least better than what they did using all the same concepts.
  5. Look at Rey from 96 and Rey now and tell me he isn't an obvious user. EDIT: And I actually don't care about steroids in wrestling. I feel like it's one of those things that becomes more dangerous because it's illegal. Steroids in wrestling wouldn't be that harmful (or at least less harmful than taking bumps every single night) if guys had access to a doctor to monitor dosing/cycling and any adverse effects. Anyone that's watched the HBO Real Sports on Steroids would see there's a lot of gym rats that have been on steroids for 30+ years who had nothing but good things to say, had no health problems from steroids and looked fucking amazing for guys that are 60.

None of those things are good ideas. That's the problem. No, I meant what I said. There's nothing wrong with the ideas, just the execution.

It's such a weird feud. Like all the ideas that were there were good. Them feuding over "Best in the World", then Jericho making it personal, talking about Punk's family, pouring booze on him, even Punk pretending to be drunk. They were all good ideas. I think WWE just overly complicates things instead of making them simple and SHORT.

    Lucha history

I know in Lucha that it's an automatic DQ if you take the other guy's mask off, but has it ever happened before in a regular match? It seems like it would make for a hot feud, but I can't see a guy agreeing to it and missing the payday of a mask match.

I agree with the last two posts completely. On a show with that awful Punk/Jericho segment I can't believe the contract signing is getting the most hate. Especially since the contract signing was actually fairly well done while everything about the Punk/Jericho bit was bad.
  10. Actually I'm watching a Nitro from 1996 where they go to HealthSouth to talk to James Andrews about Ric Flair's shoulder surgery. Maybe there really is something to this, I remember HealthSouth being the big backer and them pulling out.
  11. Davey is just revolutionizing the business. I'm waiting for someone to come up the concept of ending shows with an in-ring roundtable discussion with wrestlers and fans (those willing to pay $100 for the experience of course) where everyone discusses and critiques the night's performance.

I really don't understand all the criticism of this segment. Did it go on too long? Yea, but that's like...every talking segment the WWE does. He should be talking calmly. Why would he yell? He played it calm because that's how he's supposed to. He's not afraid of Cena. He's completely confident that he's not only going to beat Cena, but pretty much destroy him.
  13. I think the gimmick would be ok, but the big problem is he doesn't come as off dangerous. Umaga at least projected wild and uncontrollable even if it took a while for people to buy the Spike as his finish. Nothing Tensai does other than the senton looks like it's really painful. If you're going to bring a guy in with an over the top gimmick and try and push him as a monster, he needs to at least look the part in the ring. So far Tensai has not.

    House shows

Sounds like you guys weakened it first though. Haha I kid.
  15. Man that Snuka/Garvin pairing is a totally thrown together JJTS team.

  18. You would have thought AJ and Joe could have a better match without him but they never did. Harris vs. Storm is a totally different kind of match though, really blood brawl.
  19. This is actually a really good point I haven't really heard of before when people talk about John Cena turning heel. No doubt that Austin turning heel was terrible for business. Even if there wasn't much for a babyface Austin to do at that point, turning him heel at the same time that The Rock was leaving was awful timing. I think for them to turn John Cena heel they are going to need a babyface that can really step up to be the top babyface and work against him. And they don't have one. Punk isn't a compelling enough babyface, ditto Orton, and after that who is there? Sheamus?
  20. The James Storm vs. Chris Harris Texas Death Match is probably the best TNA match I've ever seen although I have not seen that much. People are big on the AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe Three Ways, and I thought they were pretty good too but not great.

If the amount is legit, I see absolutely no way they can recoup that. There is no way Brock is going to regularly bump WWE PPV buys by like 300,000+ for every PPV he's on like he did in UFC.

    Brock is back

Yes, Brock had a lot of wrestling fans who followed him over to UFC to watch how a pro wrestler would do in real fights. But I see no reason to believe these same people are going to follow him back and see his WWE PPVs do anywhere close to his UFC ones.
  23. I was actually kind of hoping "The End of and Era" was a way for them to get around announcing flat out that this year was Taker's last match. I feel like 20-0 is about the best way they can end The Streak, unless they are going to actually have him lose one.

Well I think he'll actually be around more this year than The Rock was over the past year. I just think they will find out with him, kind of like they did with Rock's ratings on Raw and the Survivor Series buyrate, that there is no quick fix.
