I am pretty sure they are just there to lose to Heath Slater and Rhyno and then disappear again. Have not seen anything that they've made a full time return like other such luminaries as Curt Hawkins and Jinder Mahal.

Every time I see someone try and justify giving money to a company they supposedly hate so much it never fails to be full of shit while also littered with "well yea but other people have done it look at ratings/house show attendance!" Glad to see some things never change.

I feel that's overstating things a bit. It's not that people were having a temper tantrum over that one Rumble, it's that it represented the company taking what it knew the fans wanted to see and giving them a giant middle finger. So in turn the fans did the same thing to Roman knowing he means as much to the company (well, Vince at least) as Bryan did to them. It's petty, yes, but considering the company's history it couldn't have happened to more deserving folks. Not giving the company any money would have been a much clearer message.

But wrestling twitter already does that. This is why I want this year's WrestleMania to end with Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the title. Let Strowman end up squashing Owens for the belt and Reigns wins the Royal Rumble again to set it up. I'm going full on JVK mode here, I don't want the current WWE crowds to be happy when they're so fucking shitty.

What is really funny about Dave saying Roman is "decent enough" is that he's the guy who gives out star ratings for all his big matches and consistently rates his matches in the 4 star range. His opinion of Roman as a worker would seem to not really line up with his opinion of Roman's matches.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard

I've already listened to all 4 of them, it's a really good podcast and covers everything without getting overly long. -
If you had access to a time machine to put yourself in 1991 to be Regal's drinking partner (because the real you was definitely not old enough) you should have kept using that time machine to bring back younger versions of the majority of your roster so they could actually give you good matches.
-
Well A-Team had been off TV for about 4 years in 1991 so Mr. T was much more of a "where are they now?" kind of guy than a big star.

Well the Warrior episode did reveal that the Warrior/HHH match was actually planned to go 12 minutes and Warrior just changed it last minute to be a total squash. -
If a guy who has had some of the best matches in WWE over the past 2 years is only "pretty decent" I hate to think what that means for the rest of the roster.
-
The fine made sense. Feigning concern doesn't. I can't think of any reason to do it outside of "it gives her TV time to do a segment with Paul Heyman"
-
I'm not sure how it's "pretending" a guy is a "super worker" when he continually puts out great matches. But I guess he still hasn't ticked off that "worked in Japan" box to be a "super worker" yet.
-
Yea the "I will go to any lengths to avenge my brother" line from Steph was a real "WTF?" moment for me when I was half listening to that promo. That whole segment was a big waste of time and didn't seem to accomplish anything though. Well, other than making me laugh when Steph trolled the crowd chanting ECW by reminding them that she bought it from Heyman.
-
Well he was definitely "decent enough" to outclass indy gods Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins in the four way. The idea that he's bad at selling is also really funny but I guess maybe in Dave's book that means he spends too much time doing it instead of doing a bunch of moves.
-
Why? You know Cornette booked him as a top guy in RoH right? You also realize he never said Steen sucked but that he needed to lose weight and stop cussing in his promos if he wanted to be a bigger star? Both of which happened when he joined WWE although he seems to have gained back all the weight he lost in NXT.
-
The idea that both Bill Watts and Jack Brisco would come out of retirement in 1991 for a small time promotion is just totally unrealistic. Not to mention it's not very appealing or interesting to a 1991 audience. You DEFINITELY need to completely re-brand the way you're doing things if you're going to be on MTV. "Old guy wrestling" would have never made it on MTV in the early 90s.
-
I like Fuji and his skits on TNT are awesome but I don't see any argument that he's a HOF level manager. He was never even in a big money drawing program. He's definitely not one of the worst ever like his dubious "awards" in the WON would lead you to believe but he's not even sniffing the HOF.

All I know is that's a Kamala in Mexico match I hadn't seen before (and I looked for as much as I could find on youtube/dailymotion a year or so ago)
-
I am glad that you posted this because I haven't been keeping up with his uploads but I see he just recently uploaded a new Kamala in Mexico match which automatically puts it at the top of the list of things I need to watch right this fucking minute.

Having your the vacant championship decided by judge's decision is a pretty weak way to start off the first title run in Mid-South. At least Thesz didn't attack Steamboat after the match to start a feud.
-
I guess Jumbo is a technically a heel (?) but your semi-finals seem really babyface heavy.
-
I'm not even going to bother looking at the responses to that because any time Dave brings up a Mexican wrestler or promotion the responses are staggeringly stupid. He's had TNAMecca type people in his mentions for the past few days arguing that TNA is a bigger promotion than CMLL "because they have more international TV deals!" despite the fact that CMLL probably makes more money in a month than TNA does in a whole year.
-
Yea you should pick a young babyface and start grooming them to become Mid-South's man of the 90s. Sure Steamboat is a good top babyface starting out but you need someone that people will only think of your promotion when they hear his name and not "oh yea that guy used to wrestle somewhere else in the good ol' days." And preferably not someone who is on someone else's TV in a really unrealistic sharing agreement like Pillman. The Patriot is a good fit for that and even if that's not what you want to do "guy who can fill out a card" is still way below what you can do with him. You have a freaking evil foreigner heel stable how can you NOT have Patriot get involved in that as a Steamboat ally?

Your firing feels kind of justified with you putting a 16 minute Bellomo/Pat Rose match on TV.
