  1. All this moaning about people making a list of favorites makes me wish I had nominated The Boogeyman and put him on my list Flair's place.
  2. Glad Larry Z did so well. A nice showing for a guy who has been run down for years in some circles as a guy who sucked and did nothing but stall. He has a lot of good matches and as far as the stalling goes it never bothered me because he was so good at it. I would rather watch Larry stall through a squash match while heeling on the jobber, crowd, ref, and anyone else in sight than watch the vast majority of squash matches. Either kill the jobbers in quick or dominant fashion or do like Larry and Adrian Street and get your character over with schtick. The 5 plus minute squash match spent working over the jobber with holds is the most boring thing in the world to me.
  3. That is what I plan on calling the list when Flair is named number 1.
  4. I have Hogan in my top 25. If you don't like it you can drink bleach!
  5. I didn't mean that any of the discussion was worthless. It had value to the people who were reading it and taking part in it. I was just pointing out that there were far less than 150 people posting in the nominee threads. I dont see any reason to believe the people who submitted ballots that arent pwo regulars ever even looked at it.

  7. I am not sure more discussion would have mattered. Looking at placements of guys like Sting, Malenko and Bigelow its seems clear that at least one third of the voters did not really pay any attention to those threads.
  8. I had him on my list but based on footage. Loved him as the last Ace in UWF with the Gordy and Murdoch matches from the 80s set. Good tag team matches with Dibiase there too. Then there are the new discoveries from NWAClassics adding to to his case. Plus he is a guy who just had that bad ass aura about him. Brock vs Dr Death is one of my big dream matches.
  9. A few runs on national TV for both major promotions? Yea but Tenta had that too and I dont see a wide gulf between him and Bigelow except that Tenta doesnt have the awesome Memphis run. Now if we were ranking best tattoos in wrestling or best wrestler cameos in movies I could see Bam Bam doing real well there.
  10. This whole process has been arguing over opinion so I don't get the idea that its out of line to question the opinion that Bigelow is one of the best big men ever. What is the evidence to back it up? Where are the great Bam Bam matches? What did he do better than the big men who ranked below him other than do moves off the top rope? I mean I really like Bam Bam in his first year when he was in Memphis but that was really the best run of his career and the only way I could understand his ranking is if he stayed that good his whole career. But he didnt. No one really argued for him in his thread.
  11. Bigelow being that high just shows me how many ballots there are outside of the 'PWO bubble' because the idea he is one of the best big men ever has been thoroughly debunked around here.
  12. Glad my high vote on Perro got him in the top 150 but its bugs me a guy like Bigelow who was so inconsistent finished ahead of Matt Hardy who is like the model of consistency.
  13. Would love to hear an explanation of ranking Ray Stevens at #12 that isn't just based on reputation among old wrestlers. None of the footage I've seen on him is all that impressive. At least for guys like Gorgeous George or Buddy Rogers you can actually look at footage and see why so many people called them great.
  14. What exactly were you expecting to happen? The top 100's gonna be like that too, with Lawler, Tanahashi and I'm guessing at least one of Undertaker/Hogan. Either you sort it out beforehand so that the only people voting are those with similar opinions, or you end up with a final list that's all over the place. If the top 100 didn't have Lawler then it would be a pretty shitty top 100.

  16. I am perfectly happy being the high vote on Jim Duggan & Dennis Condrey.
  17. I agree with all this. I really don't think he is any good until his late career renaissance when he started teaming with Kazarian and actually developed a personality. It's laughable how people used to talk up his Fallen Angel character like it was actually a thing. He did absolutely nothing with it. But hey, he did a really pretty moonsault!
  18. No but I also didn't rank Seth Rollins very high either I'm wonder what has Sheamus done that makes him your measuring stick? Actually have a long string of good matches while champion. I only used him to compare his World Title run against Rollins WWE Title run.
  19. So you ranked Hogan and Andre really really high then right?
  20. Oh wow he was booked to do a run-in, what an amazing wrestler he is for that.
  21. I understand your sadness but you've been around long enough to know you should always be saving rare stuff off youtube.
  22. It's not even that Rollins is "too modern" and still in the prime of his career it's that he isn't very good. He's had a lot of big matches in WWE and very few of them have wound up being memorable or all that good. Compare Sheamus' run as World Champ in 2012 to Rollins reign as WWE champ and Sheamus totally blows him away.
  23. I'll be angry for you. Rollins should have gone down at least 200 spots earlier.
  24. Well when Tommy Rogers (who I really like) managed to finish 93 on that list, I will not weep for it.
