  1. Just for sake of a reference, here are the star ratings from Meltzer on all of HHH's PPV matches: http://www.profightdb.com/wrestler-star-ratings/triple-h-193.html?res=2000 That's 34 matches at least 4 stars since 1997 counting stuff like Elimination Chambers and 6/8 man tags but not counting any Royal Rumbles.
  2. I don't really think he does but a lot of people do.
  3. My first thought on the question of "wrestlers who have a long list of great matches that aren't great" would be HHH. He had the benefit of getting to wrestle main event matches with some of the best wrestlers in the world for a very long period of time which helps him pad the list. Especially with how many gimmick matches he got to have and that they almost always let him be the one match on the PPV that had blood before WWE cut out the blade. His "average" performance is not very good though and I can't think of anyone who had their best match with HHH, while I can think of a lot of guys who had shitty matches with HHH where I feel like he dragged them down to his level. Great performances can lead to non-great matches because not every match has the opportunity to be great. Especially before the modern "everyone should be trying to steal the show" era. Like Rip Rogers has a lot of great performances but not a lot of great matches because his job was usually just to put over a babyface in a short TV match. Same thing with a guy like Adrian Street, there aren't a lot of Street matches on tape where he had the opportunity to go long and have a great match but we have a lot of great Adrian Street performances where he does an awesome job of playing his character.
  4. I should eventually check out Noble's ROH run because him being on 12 ballots seems crazy and I'm about as big a fan of his WWE run as there is.
  5. Let's just be diplomatic and say some people weighted "number of great matches" more heavily than others when putting together their ballot. Like I can't really say I've seen any GREAT Adrian Street matches but I've seen some great performances of Adrian Street being Adrian Street.
  6. Also, Rick Steiner & Robin Green is one of wrestling's greatest love stories.
  7. I honestly don't remember any Lizmark stuff from the 80s set. There are a ton of guys that stand out from that set to me but he isn't one of them. Adrian Street is another guy gone off my list. He did pretty good for a guy from his era who had no votes in 2006.
  8. I don't have access to my list so I can't remember all the guys I had at the bottom. Not sure if I voted for Tony Anthony & Yoko or not but I know I at least considered both of them for my bottom 20.
  9. I don't think any of the luchadores I've ranked have dropped yet outside of Espectrito. I'm not hand wringing over lucha being under represented yet because I still expect guys like Satanico, Santo & Negro Casas to do well, probably better than the SC poll.
  10. First Dylan was co-opted and now shoe must be too, randomly locking this thread. PWO is under siege! Clearly HHH is going to somehow wind up being #1 on GWE.
  11. With more to go on I could have seen myself voting for El Bracero because I have been really impressed by the stuff on NWAClassics. It just wasn't enough to put him on my ballot.
  12. "Let's make the one-legged underdog a heel!" definitely sounds like a Russo idea.
  13. He has such a promising stand-up career ahead of him too if he would just quit wrestling and devote himself to it.
  14. Now that Mrzfn has come forward to defend his Quack vote, I demand satisfaction from the 5 people who had the audacity for vote for Dolph Ziggler. I need to know how you sleep at night knowing you counted him as one of the 100 greatest wrestlers ever and I want to know why you did not nominate Billy Gunn because I can not find any conceivable reason to vote for Dolph Ziggler and not vote for the man he has been cosplaying for all these years.
  15. I could definitely have seen myself voting for him. Fucking love that guy.
  16. Don't really get the Tenta hate there as Graham is the far more offensive worker. Mr. Wrestling II benefited from the Mid-South set and the new footage from NWAClassics
  17. 42 on Billy Graham feels crazier than any of the "questionable" high rankings so far. I mean I have seen so many Graham matches where he does pretty much NOTHING. The only good matches I've seen from him were against Dusty.
  18. The case against Angle is pretty clearly laid out in his thread. Probably best to skim over that thread and bring up any arguments against them there.
  19. I'm not. I'll be surprised if he shows up before the 200s. Well my shock comes from the fact that I nominated him myself and his thread had no responses outside of the one post I made.
  20. I am glad that Kamala managed to get on 7 ballots. Had him at 100. I am also shocked that Bob Armstrong has not shown up yet.
  21. Most of the people he responds to on twitter deserve being treated like idiots though. A lot of that is who he chooses to respond to but he DOES get a lot of stupid stuff tweeted at him.
  22. I think Dave must be reading this thread
  23. # of Ballots: 5.5 How the heck does that work?
  24. It's just too bad the nominations were cut off before you made your wrestling debut.
  25. I think I feel the same way about Yoshinari Ogawa. I can't wait to see how high he gets and how many puro badasses he beats. I regret not voting for Ogawa. He was near the bottom of my list before I did some revisions.
