  1. Mine would be Perro Aguayo vs. Jerry Lawler sometime between 83-84.
  2. Yes. And yea I know Lawler has no shot at actually finishing #1 but that's where he was on MY ballot.
  3. It's all moot anyway because the only objectively correct #1 would be Jerry Lawler. And he's the proper bridge between modern and old school as he's the only old school guy still competing regularly and not in a very embarrassing fashion.
  4. That is such a silly takeaway after so many people just spent months watching old footage they wouldn't otherwise have watched. It should not count against Bryan that he worked in the modern era any more than Flair should magically get extra credit for having his prime in the magical decade of the 80s. And I say that as someone who loves wrestling from the 80s WAY more than current wrestling. Hell I kinda even like Japanese wrestling from the 80s.
  5. I think Flair is a much safer bet than Bret. For all the discussion he got it was a lot less "I'm not going to rank him" than "I'm not going to rank him in my top 3"
  6. I seriously considered voting Bull Pain solely off of how awesome he is in the match from a TN women's prison.
  7. Yuck at the idea that Shane is a better wrestler than Vince.

    The Voter List

I hope I'm somehow one of the anonymous 21, I seem to remember putting my PWO name on the ballot though.
  9. Are we going to find out who those were?
  10. Fixed.
  11. I turned in a ballot solely to keep Bob Armstrong off that list.
  12. People who claim the old Memphis music videos were homoerotic are so immature
  13. I thought it was kind of a given we were going to get some kind of "Snoop clotheslines Flair" spot and was pretty disappointed in didn't happen.
  14. I'm talking about the people who do crazy trips to go to see big PPVs like Mania & SummerSlam.
  15. They deserve ridicule because they think they aren't being manipulated all the while looking down their noses at "those dumb casuals" who buy Roman Reigns t-shirts and cheer him at house shows. Their favorite line is "just keep swallowing the shit Vince McMahon feeds you!" all the while having it stuck all in their teeth.
  16. I feel like when your big argument is how much smarter you are than Vince McMahon and how he needs to listen to you all the while giving him MORE money as he continues to do the opposite of what you want, you kind of deserve the ridicule.
  17. Ok but we all know that NOW. We all know when Daniel Bryan came back they made a joke out of him in the Royal Rumble and then threw him into the IC Title scene. So why in the world is there still this persistent myth that "If we just buy enough tickets and chant loud enough we'll get our way"? Why would WWE respect those fans who clearly don't seem to have any respect for themselves because they keep paying large sums of money to support a company they never get tired of bashing. It's why I've repeatedly said if I was WWE I would be far more focused on trying to please the house show crowd & t-shirt buyers (who Roman Reigns does well with) because they are the ones whose business might actually go away.
  18. It has nothing to do with people not "blindly loving WWE" it's about the idiocy of spending hundreds of dollars a year on something that you do nothing but complain about. And continue to justify it with this lie that "well if I just go to the show and give them a reaction they don't like, they'll change!" How can you scream from the hilltops how much you want WWE to change while giving them the financial security that ensures they don't have to? Because it worked once (with Daniel Bryan) and there is the belief, however misguided, that they can force WWE's hand again. This is just a lie though. It didn't work with Daniel Bryan. They did not turn around and change their entire philosophy and decide they were going to go whole hog with pushing Bryan. They were just going to give him a short token run until he got squashed by Lesnar at SummerSlam and then went back to the mid-card.

  20. But it feels more like people treat WWE like that old fling that they can't get over and desperately stalk on social media despite the other person having totally moved on.
  21. I really liked Pat Roach from what I saw but didn't feel like it was fair to vote for him because I don't know how he compares to the other guys from WoS. I felt comfortable ranking Jim Breaks though just because he is so transcendentally great.
  22. This is pretty much why I loved it so much. Because Vince is going to do what he wants at the end of the day and I have no idea why the most stubborn parts of the audience just won't accept it and move on with their lives. If you grew up loving a certain restaurant and then suddenly it went to shit and started serving really awful food, wouldn't you just stop going? Or would you engage in a ridiculous ritual of still regularly paying money to go and be disappointed in hopes of it getting better?
  23. I think I might run out and get a butterfly tattoo to memorialize
  24. I'm usually the guy arguing against people saying these kinds of "conspiracy theories" but watching the show last night that's really how I felt too. It felt like they went out of their way to book the show as a means to troll the live crowd because they knew Reigns was going to get shit on. And as someone who can't reconcile the fact that so many people are acting like the Reigns hate is based on him being a bad worker while also extolling the virtues of shitty wrestlers like Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose, I actually really enjoyed it.
  25. Naw that was all about someone (or multiple people) inside WWE making some extra money on the side with those stupid betting sites. Zack suddenly became the odds favorite about 2 days ago.
