  1. I had the same issue with El Dandy and despite ranking 15 lucha guys, Dandy wasn't one of them. I can totally see what everyone loves about Satanico, Negro Casas, El Hijo del Santo, etc but Dandy has never clicked for me.
  2. I would have been very tempted to vote for him had he been nominated, I can't lie. He would have been in my bottom 10 but there's a strong chance he'd have been there. I had Jeff Hardy on my ballot and even had Matt Hardy higher than you.

    John Cena

He was very close to making my top 10.
  4. I like formula because formula works. I've seen some modern indy tag matches that try to completely do away with the standard tag formula of building to a hot tag and it just feels like formless mess.
  5. Pretty sure I'm the high vote on Matt Hardy.
  6. I will be satisfied with nothing less than a full Congressional investigation.
  7. Man..the last two posts in this thread I'm not sure how you could watch the WWE 24 special and think that it wasn't Bryan's own decision to retire. He flat out said he knew he had to retire once he saw the test that showed he had a lesion on his brain. How did Brie convince him to retire when she said "Bryan came home and started crying and told me he knew he had to retire"? Like what part of that led you to think she was convincing him instead of consoling him? And no there isn't anything odd about a guy deciding to retire when he realizes he has a lesion on his brain that causes seizures. The thing that would actually be odd is if he still tried to wrestle knowing that.
  8. If he really thought the Barber gimmick "stopped him from getting over" then he's a complete idiot because that's pretty much the only reason he ever WAS over. There is really nothing even wrong with the gimmick, especially since they had him cut enough people's hair (even if mostly jobbers after squash matches) that there was always at least the possibility of him cutting the hair of whatever heel he was feuding with.
  9. Yea I really need some actual evidence of this "Brock Lesnar is a great draw!" thing that DOESN'T use UFC buy rates. From everything I've read he really didn't boost house show ticket sales at all on the last slate of shows he was added to.

    WrestleMania 32

Outside of DVDVR/PWO bubble, the IWC largely didn't want Cena as the top guy before the last few years either because he was a "shitty" wrestler and "won all the time." Yea and there are people who are STILL completely anti-Cena. I feel like Reigns is in the same boat as Cena too where the vast majority of people booing him now would lose their shit and start wildly cheering him if he turned heel.
  11. Would you rank him over Mr. Electricity Steve Regal?
  12. You should replace him with Catweazle but for some reason no one nominated him.

    WrestleMania 32

Then what's the risk? They didn't decide to abandon ship when the Cena hate was at it's highest point. I think it's equal parts the "vocal minority" audience has grown and the casual audience has shrunk. If you have a guy who seems to connect with the audience you're losing, keep going with him.

    WrestleMania 32

If it was my decision I'd cater more to the house show crowd too. The TV/PPV audience is the hardcore audience that has proven they're going to give WWE money regardless even if it's for totally illogical reasons like "hey let's go to Raw to boo a babyface we don't like, chant stuff WWE will hate and hijack the show!" while spurning house shows because "nothing important happens." These are the people who will spend hours on message boards and podcasts talking about how bad WWE is yet bite your head off the moment you suggest they stop giving WWE their money. The house show audience is made up a lot more of families, which is the audience WWE wants, and casual fans who might not even watch that much but decide to go to a show because it's in town and something to do.

    WrestleMania 32

Pretty much any house show report you read will say Reigns got an overwhelmingly positive reaction.

    Perro Aguayo

If you like Perro and haven't seen his 2001 match with Hijo del Santo definitely check it out. I just watched it and thought it was really good, way better than I expected having watched some other old man Perro matches lately.
  17. Ted is a lot taller than Arn & Tully. Ted only looks small when you stick him next to Andre or Hogan.
  18. I was trying to think of an answer and didn't think of Bob but since you bring him up, yea. Could work anywhere on the card, could do tags, could be heel or face and had the promo skills to get over anything you needed. He's a good pick, how do you see him getting over up north or in Japan? I ask that for obvious reasons. Seems like a guy tied to a particular region more than most. He'd have done fine up north because he was a good enough talker. I really think he's one of the best promos of all time he just doesn't get put into that discussion because not a lot of people have gone out of their way to watch Southeastern/Continental. And there is no footage of the Fred Ward stuff where he was also a top guy. Japan is more of a question mark so I can only say maybe.

  20. This was fucking nuts. I'm pretty sure the object was a pair of scissors and not really a very small pair either. Perro is crazy for working like 10 minutes of a regular match with scissors in his trunks.
  21. Ohh yea you Canadians got screwed. The Network is totally different in the U.S.
  22. Because pretty much all the other wrestling in South America copied from Titanes en el Ring in Argentina and La Momia was probably their biggest draw.

    Scott Steiner

Been watching some Steiners matches from 1989 and I have to imagine that watching him at the time he would have felt like a guy who would become one of the top stars of the 90s. It didn't really turn out that way but in 1989 he manages to combine power and athleticism in a way I'm not sure I can really compare to anyone else. I'm also not sure how he didn't break his neck doing that crazy ass back flip bodyslam thing he would do. He feels like a guy who should have become a much bigger breakout star and way earlier than like 1998 when it finally happened.

    NXT talk

Even if it were true that someone wanted to stay in NXT and not get called up you would hope they would have the sense NOT to say that when it was time for them to go to the main roster because that would definitely seem like a thing that would get you disqualified in Vince's eyes as someone who doesn't want to "grab the brass ring."
  25. I also have no idea how the Bill Cosby stuff even entered into this conversation. Bill Cosby is accused of multiple criminal acts. If he had been recorded during any of that, it would be evidence in a criminal case. Hulk Hogan didn't do anything illegal, there is absolutely no basis of comparison.
