  1. I was trying to think of potential cards they could throw out there that would be a big enough draw on their own. This is kind of what I was looking at in my head. I am assuming no Daniel Bryan: Kenny Omega vs. CM Punk Young Bucks vs. Rey Misterio and tag partner Chris Jericho vs. Naito/Okada maybe with the IWGP Title on the line. Mark Henry appearance if possible. I think the question there is, can that get you to 7000-7500 so you can cheat yourself the rest of the way there?
  2. I'll admit to liking watching his submission stuff, but god damn his selling is piss poor. No matter what offensive moves he takes, he looks around like he is concussed for about ten seconds, and then immediately attempts to get back to getting his shit in. So I watched his first PWG title defense against Chuck Taylor yesterday. Taylor is great, he changes up his style and gets more aggressive and serious for the match. He treats it like this big moment and like everything he's doing is extremely important. Then you have ZSJ on the other side with no emotion or desperation or anything to counter-balance the great Taylor performance. He really drug down what could have been a powerful match with his inability to play his role. Yeah, the first one wasn't great. I also think what ZSJ may have been going for was indifference/not taking Chuck seriously. They are also building up Chuck so the crowd will take him seriously as a title contender. They weren't there yet for this match and that is also a factor in why it wasn't great. I think it ends up being a great feud and that the stuff between Best Friends and LDRS made 2017 a great year for PWG. Obviously, it does have Marty Scurll, so YMMV. I also personally like ZSJ because of our shared love of Jeremy Corbyn and having had the opportunity to talk about it with him for a while at an AAW show last year, so I am biased toward him and it takes a lot for me to not enjoy his matches (though it does happen sometimes). Trent is one of the best sellers in the world and he helps get the whole thing over. Glad to see you're enjoying him because he fucking rules. Anyhow, everybody but Marty Scurll in that feud is among my favorite dudes, so I love the feud and the year for PWG. Same show, the SuperKliq vs. OI4K six man was the most unapologetic juvenile thing I've ever seen and I loved every second of it.

  4. This always bugs me. I'm not saying get on steroids but go to the fucking gym and put on a little muscle or wear a shirt.
  5. For all the hype he gets, I find myself to be pretty consistently disappointed by Zack Sabre Jr. matches.
  6. Jesus, two Marty Scurll matches in one weekend. I need to make rules for myself about this shit. That has to violate some sort of international treaty.
  7. Trent? has really come a long way since the WWE. I think he was one of my least favorite wrestlers a couple of years ago and he's become someone I genuinely enjoy now.
  8. Good news guys, you're about 4 episodes away from Manning getting storyline suspended for a couple of months!
  9. I think they have several options on the table for streaming between ROH Honor Club or whatever it's going to be called, regular ROH PPV through the Fite App, HighSpots (there's probably something there since they did that live "Ask The Elite" live stream a couple months back right after the initial Jericho/Omega angle), or even NJPW World if they are involved. I can't imagine pretty smart business people like the Bucks who monetize literally everything leaving that easy revenue on the table. I know they want to make it a destination show but the reality is that there are plenty of people who don't have a spare $1K for the trip, ticket, and accommodations that would pay $15 (or whatever) for a stream of it at home. Not to mention, I don't think guys are going to be wanting to take pay cuts just to be on this show (like I have heard speculated, I think on the VOW Flagship pod). Big names need to be paid. The BIG NAMES won't take pay cuts, sure. The Mysterios will still cost their price tag. Any indie name though like a Keith Lee or a Sami Callihan would take that cut. I have no qualms with saying that this show is not being ran with the idea of making lots of money. It is entirely a statement show. They are going to need every single person they can to make that trip and streaming it live seems like an obvious thing to do in 2018 it does seem counter to the destination event they are presenting. It really opens up the potential for this show's draw when you start to wonder how much money they are willing to lose on it. If they're willing to lose a couple of million to make their point then it could get really interesting.
  10. I want to take a moment to mention how much I love Toru Yano and his antics. You sometimes get a good match out of it but it's always fun and a nice change of pace.
  11. It's fucking terrible when Ospreay does it because he has an awful voice.
  12. I think the top of the card ticket would be Kenny Omega vs. Rey Mysterio.
  13. I hate Scurll more because I think there's a good wrestler buried somewhere in there, Even when he was "Party" Marty Scurll he was still a try hard that would completely derail matches because he had to show his personality. The Wrestle Kingdom match is everything I hate about Scurll. The guy can't string two moves together without stopping to call his next move, do a Bullet Club gesture or that cawing he does. The finger spot is fucking terrible and makes no sense within the context of a wrestling match. If you broke their finger, they fucking have to sell that the rest of the match or it's stupid. He also seems to be the weak link in every match he's in and he has a real talent for dragging top level wrestlers down a couple of notches. His finisher also pisses me off. He doesn't even try to make it look painful or to look like he's applying pressure. He just puts his arm over the guys throat and maybe yells and that's supposed to be enough. Ospreay, to me is just an annoying spot monkey. I don't enjoy him but I don't hate him like Scurll because I don't see that hidden potential being pissed away. I will give Ospreay some credit. The guy can fucking sell a beating and he let's better opponents slow him down. He still does too much flippy shit but he'll let guys lead and so you get some good matches like the Shibata stuff.
  14. I think Will Ospreay and Marty Scurll might be in my top 5 of wrestlers I can't stand. With Scurll, how many gimmicks do you freaking need?
  15. I mean he couldn't have the gall to think he's better than AJ Styles, Minoru Suzuki, Naito and a lot of other guys really.
  16. But I feel the need to say this about the Cody vs. Kota Ibushi match. Ibushi got an almost *** match out of a blowup doll.
  17. I think he is boring more than bad. Though considering the workers he's been able to have matches with since WWE, he really doesn't have a long list of good matches.. Just a lot of okay stuff with a couple of good matches.
  18. Yeah, they have really good chemistry and it brings out his personality. They did some really good stuff in that match. Cody and Brandi together, I would pay to see.
  19. Cody is a lot better with Brandi. He actually has a personality when he's with her. But she's a great heel.
  20. Yeah and all the injuries he has had over the past few years really hurt his athleticism. He should pretty much just be a punch/kick asshole with a mustache at this point. Which, like you said, fits the character anyhow. Lariat for a finisher and he'd be gold.
  21. My biggest problem with Silas Young, I've said it in this very thread, is that he doesn't wrestle like his character. An aerial move for that guy should be a dropkick. He has a great character and I love that he isn't afraid to just have the fans hate him but holy shit dude, think about what you do in the ring.
  22. Damn that Goto/Suzuki match fucking rocked. I'm usually lukewarm to Goto but he upped his game for this one. Suzuki is such a terrifying psychopath.
  23. Still working through this show. The young boy abuse is off the charts for this show. I don't think I've ever seen so many of them just get destroyed during matches.
  24. For me, I kind of glossed over Omega because I expect him to be good on the big stage where I kind of thought Jericho sucked for the last 5-6 years.
  25. The amount of people that asked me about Omega/Jericho was crazy to me. Like 3-4 people. Also what a world we live in where I kind of want to see Cody wrestle again.
