  1. I had a friend that had the same deal as him. She lived for a decent amount of time after but I wouldn't really say she was alive for the last 3 months. Hopefully they caught it early enough and he easily survives. I doubt he ever steps in a ring again either way.
  2. They should go the Wrestling Gold route and bring in Jim Cornette and Dave Meltzer to do the English tracks. I wouldn't go with RoH distribution though. Their DVDs are the shits for the most part and overpriced. I'd give them DVDs to sell though but they could find a much better distributer with their money.
  3. I'm not a fan of Styles either. He's ok but his quirks as an announcer get really tiring after awhile. Ross was pretty bad but I blame Lawler for dragging him down for the last 8 years. Notice how much stronger he was with Heyman and the instant improvements he made when working with Tazz or when Bischoff sat down for a bit. If I really had to pick an announce team for Raw I'd do Jim Cornette as PBP and Michael Hayes as the color guy. I think you'd have a very strong team with them.
  4. I'd love to get some NOAH DVDs with an option for English commentary tracks. I don't think shows will pan out too well for them in the U.S. though. I don't think they have the exposure to make it work. They have a fanbase here but it's going to be hard to place yourself so you can draw enough of them to a show. I also don't really know who they could sign as far as free agents to draw in the crowds. I think we'll see New Japan in the U.S. on a regular basis before NOAH considering they can actually get their stars exposure on tv.
  5. Plus ratings are meaningless to them at this point. They don't get anything for a 3.0 or a 5.0. Where they need a boost is live attendence and house show attendence and they aren't getting that.
  6. I don't know if Backlund's really counts because he spent most of the match out on the floor after the Bezerker attacked him.
  7. I don't want to see anything with HHH in it.
  8. Nah, you have HHH bury him in the second round and then have Kane sell for Michaels like he's super man and then do a 20 minute egofuck with Michaels/HHH for the final.
  9. I think they'll work the brackets so HHH/Michaels is the final.
  10. Because it only took HHH a single day to no sell death.
  11. Sometime in the spring of last year. I think the Champions Carnival marked his start as a free agent.
  12. Freelancing is a popular option in Japan. Kawada, Sasaki and Tenryu are all high profile freelance guys that will work for anyone.
  13. It's roughly like this: 1. New Japan 2. NOAH - just barely behind New Japan, they see bigger crowds for the Dome Shows but New Japan probably still wins when you take the entire gates for the years. 3. All Japan - there's a huge gap here, there's probably a bigger gap between All Japan and NOAH than there is between Zero-One and All Japan. then Dragon's Gate, Zero-One, Hustle etc. are just indies and I'm not sure of how they fare. Zero-One is probably the top indy though.
  14. I would doubt them using Tiger Mask since he might've burned his New Japan bridges.
  15. Vince will be fucking pissed if TNA signs Harry Smith.
  16. Unjustified? You could've taken Booker T, Misterio, RVD, Benjamin and several others on the roster and gotten more out of them with not even a third of the effort. Orton has been getting an insane push since 2003 and he's still getting a mid-card response. He's an utter failure. He hasn't drawn any ratings, hasn't popped any buyrates and no one pays to see him lose. As someone said before Orton's push is everything that's wrong in wrestling. He's being pushed completely because of his look and name. Ken Doane in OVW blows Orton out of the water in every aspect as a worker and he has nowhere near the experience of Orton. This is also the guy that caused two divas to quit the company because he was sexually harassing them too.
  17. I have to say that Misterio is a real dirtbag for going along with this after the way he was exploiting his kid during the summer.
  18. I'm curious what it will take to get the WWF apologists to finally agree that they've been exploiting Eddie's death.
  19. You'd think they'd maybe rethink their position on Orton considering how injury prone he is as well. I guess Batista taught them nothing.
  20. A second hour I think is more important. They could probably bring in more buyrates with more time for matches and storylines. Though now that I think about it, being in a position to make money off of tv when they renew their contract in the fall is really important as well.
  21. Was he really scheduled for 2004? I don't recall that.
  22. I think we have to wait for Against All Odds to get an idea of where the company will be headed. I think getting a second hour is key for them now.
  23. This is why I don't watch anymore. How many times does Randy Orton have to fucking fail for them to give up on him. Remember this is the guy that was bombing so terribly last year that they dropped him from the Mania main event. It's like when HHH/Taker completely bombed in 2002 and they went right back to it 2 months later.
  24. No one's responded at the Pit yet. The people at the Pit saying they wouldn't hit a 1.0 for this show have been MIA since the news hit. DVDVR started off pretty bad but some sane posters popped up.
  25. It's funny seeing the dickheads on various boards that predicated TNA would be getting 0.4s now trying to downplay them getting a 1.1.
