  1. I never found Gabe to be a particularly good booker. I think he stumbled into a couple of good angles over the years but I feel like more often than not his ideas tended to fail on some level. The thing I still hate about RoH is that they take that hot up and comer and then job him about 3 times too many and wait about a year too long before finally pulling the trigger on them. I don't know what it is with RoH and doing that but it's been a common theme between several bookers now. I do eventually want to revisit the Adam Pearce era. There were some interesting ideas in there but I feel like he never got a fair chance from the fans.
  2. Was he not planning to retire? I don't remember but I doubt it would have lasted.
  3. I think had Owen not died he would have gotten a run somewhere in that 02-04 range when a lot of people were getting runs with one of the two belts. He seems like he would have been a perfect candidate for a short run when HHH was trying to inflate the number of championships he held.
  4. And if I'm thinking about it. Could the Sheik even bump?
  5. I can totally see it after working in management at a largish corporation. You get around those hyper successful director types and they can barely function outside of being good at their job.
  6. He strikes me as someone being in a bubble to a large degree. Like I said, I think he's wrong but with being an old school guy and someone who was in manage, I do see where he's coming from.
  7. I can see where he's coming from. He's wrong but I can see where he's coming from as someone that's been in management and is from that old school generation.
  8. The archives kind of interest me but I might never get to them. I've had subs in the past and I used to love that weekly arrival and just how much was packed in there.
  9. I like the Fite app for the content. I hate the way you go to a real commercial break and then you get 20 seconds of show and then one of the interjected Fite app commercials. Pisses me off every time.
  10. It's almost immediate in 2006. Bound For Glory is a high note and the TV immediately starts going to shit and you get Abyss winning the belt on a DQ a month later.
  11. It still upsets me that they brought him back. It was so needless. I thought they were on a great path throughout 2006. They had some buzz and they broke even the next year financially. It's such a waste because 2006 TNA still holds up as a good product to me.
  12. That early 80s JCP U.S. Title belt is the best. Absolutely love it.
  13. There's something hilarious about introducing someone to their first Big Daddy match. And then after the horror subsides a bit, showing them another one to confirm just how fucking awful it was.
  14. Weren't they kind of trying to go for that Triple Crown idea when Danielson had the World Title, the FIP Title and the Pure Title? I guess trying to fit into NOAH would be trying to be All Japan.
  15. And are we talking a regular pushed guy? Because some of those WWF and JCP jobbers couldn't bump for shit.
  16. Is it bad? I legit never noticed. Do you have any matches that stick out to you with him being particularly bad? I'm curious now.
  17. Him trying to weasel out of doing the Cobra Clutch Challenge with Jay Youngblood was great.
  18. I spent Thursday and Friday at work listening to your GWF shows. Worth the $5 a month on Patreon.
  19. Random aside. Does anyone still get the WON in print? I really want one for nostalgia but it's so fucking expensive.
  20. I agree totally. And the commentary up until 2005 was pretty terrible overall. There is way too much talking during the matches. I don't feel the commentary has ever been very good in RoH. I know people despised him but I actually liked when Prazak and Hodgewood were doing the HDNet show. There was something that I just enjoyed about Hodgewood's commentary.
  21. I knew Sgt. Slaughter was good but damn. Watching him doing squashes weekly and cutting weekly promos. It's an absolute delight to watch the guy do his thing.
  22. Cool. They never mentioned it and it was familiar looking but I didn't recognize it.
  23. Does anyone know what belt John Studd has on the December 1981 Mid-Atlantic shows?
  24. Honestly, I would be Metlz, I would totally troll the idiotic Twitter crowd to no end and watch them get ulcers over nothing. Plus it's so damn easy anyway, almost too easy. It is. Think about the hours of amusement you could get for almost no effort at all. You don't even have to try most of the time.
  25. He might just enjoy getting people worked up and Twitter is an easy avenue to get a few laughs at people freaking out.
