  1. WWA would like the women on 1/7 and 1/21 please
  2. Three times a year (February, May and November) are "sweeps months" for American TV, where the ratings help determine advertising rates, so TV shows would bring in huge guest stars or do cliffhanger storylines to try to increase ratings. This went for all TV, not just wrestling. Not sure it's done so much now since there are so many stations but when you only had 3 stations in a lot of markets that didn't have cable, they were incredibly important.
  3. November 12, 2015 - WWA Superstar Challenge quick results David McLane opens the show by announcing that Chavo & Mando Guerrero recently won the NWA World Tag Team Titles from the Russians and shows highlights of the match. The Guerreros, belts in tow, come to the interview area saying they will defend the titles against anybody, anytime. McLane runs down the lineup, including Nick Bockwinkel defending the Missouri Title against David Von Erich. 1. Hercules Hernandez (w/Gary Hart) defeated Kelly Kiniski by submission to a backbreaker in 4:28. McLane begins explaining the ongoing saga between Bobo Brazil and Brickhouse Brown when he is interrupted by The Fabulous Ones. McLane rightfully explains they don’t work here, but they heard the Guerreros had won the NWA World Tag Team Titles and want to see if “anybody, anytime” is a serious proposition. The Guerreros come out and agree to a title defense. The Fabs want it right now, but commissioner Arnold Skaaland says the match will happen in Indianapolis on December 3. 2. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race pinned Bobby Colt in 4:19 with a fisherman suplex. Colt was joined by the rest of Dangerous by Design at the start of the match but Skaaland made them leave before the bell rang. After the match, McLane interviewed Race about his upcoming defense on December 3 against the Missouri Champion. Race says he hopes the best man wins tonight, to which Nick Bockwinkel interrupts and says “You’re about to see the best man in that ring right now.” 3. In a match spanning over two segments, Nick Bockwinkel (w/Gary Hart) retained the NWA Missouri Heavyweight Title by defeating David Von Erich with a sleeper in 14:24. Von Erich appeared to have the match won with an Iron Claw, but Heenan distracted referee Connie Marker when Bockwinkel’s shoulders were down. David McLane announces that the NWA World Women’s Champion The Fabulous Moolah will be making a title defense in Indianapolis on December 3. 4. Koko Ware defeated Sheik Abdullah by disqualification in 7:41 when Jerry Valiant and Bobby Colt interfered. Bobo Brazil and Brickhouse Brown made the save after the match. Arnold Skaaland says he is adding a ten man elimination tag team match to the Indianapolis show on December 3 based on what we’ve just seen, then he breaks down the lineup for Indianapolis on December 3 as it stands now: 5 vs. 5 Elimination Match: Dangerous by Design vs. Koko Ware, Bobo Brazil, Brickhouse Brown & The O Zone The NWA World Women’s Title will be on the line. NWA Central States Tag Team Title: The Zambuie Express vs. Mike Rotundo & Jimmy Snuka© NWA World Tag Team Title: The Fabulous Ones vs. The Guerreros© NWA World Heavyweight Title: Harley Race© vs. NWA Missouri Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel Next week: Larry Zbyszko defends the NWA Midwest Television Title vs. NWA Central States Tag Team Champion Jimmy Snuka, David Sammartino vs. Bobby Colt, plus NWA World Tag Team Champions Chavo & Mando Guerrero and The Fabulous Ones will be in separate tag team matches.

Race said he will wrestle next week on TV and will be scouting for December 3 very closely. 3. Forced Hiatus

Please keep going as best you can. My TV wound up being like 12 sentences and everybody knows where every angle is headed. Bare bones TV is fine
  11. WWA will draft Barry Orton, and I will pass the remainder of the draft.
  12. Aside from 1983 Ernie Ladd going over 30 minutes I love this show a ton
  13. Just for Abby and the minis? Do you want to keep any of the dates for anybody else?
  14. Just for Abby and the minis? Do you want to keep any of the dates for anybody else?
  15. If it was a one and done on the big show I wouldn't have at all but since he'll be on three consecutive TVs I didn't want anybody getting confused that he was a permanent member of the roster.
  16. Due to the fact I'm in the process of moving, TV the next few weeks will be mostly quickie results until I can get back into things full time. While NWA Showcase will technically air during this period, I doubt I'll take the time to write the episodes until I get settled into the new house. WWA Superstar Challenge quickie results (October 29, 1983) 1. Koko Ware pinned Zoltan the Great with a brain buster in 9:46. David McLane interviews David Von Erich, “visiting us from the Southwest”. Von Erich issues a challenge to Nick Bockwinkel for the Missouri Title. Dory Funk Jr. and J.J. Dillon interrupt, and an argument leads to commissioner Arnold Skaaland announcing a match between Von Erich and Funk next week with the winner to meet Bockwinkel the following week. 2. NWA Midwest Television Champion Larry Zbyszko pinned Don Kernodle with his feet on the ropes in 7:31. 3. Jules Strongbow defeated Bobby Colt by disqualification in 7:28 following interference by the rest of Dangerous by Design. Chavo and Mando Guerrero, along with Jimmy Snuka and Mike Rotundo make the save, leading to… 4. Chavo & Mando Guerrero defeated Black Gordman & Goliath by disqualification in 13:46 when Bobby Colt interfered. The Zambuie Express (w/Gary Hart) issue a challenge to Rotundo & Snuka for a chance to regain the Central States Tag Team Titles. 5. Hercules Hernandez (w/Gary Hart) defeared Jerry Grey by submission in 33 seconds. Next week: Zbyszko defends the Midwest Television Title vs. Spike Huber plus Dory Funk Jr. vs. David Von Erich for a shot at the Missouri Heavyweight Title the following week.
  17. I'm not sure it ever got announced in here (if it did my apologies) but David Von Erich will be working for WWA between now and November 14, on loan from Southwest.
  18. I had the image of Dillon throwing a party for Dory and as soon as I pictured Dory throwing confetti I just had to include it.

    A Proposal

Great idea since Michigan is essentially open territory anyway
  20. October 23, 1983 – NWA Showcase airing on the USA Network David McLane welcomes us to the show and says tonight we’ll be highlighting some of the key happenings in the week that was in the NWA. Our first stop this week is Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, where the Iron Sheik has recently won the United States Heavyweight Championship and is now referring to the title as the NWA Iran Title. Sheik put that title on the line on TV this week, only to find out that he has some competition waiting in the wings. Let’s take you to that footage right now. (A video bumper highlighting this week’s upcoming MACW events airs) We now move over to Mid-South Wrestling, where the war between Stan Hansen and Andre the Giant has escalated. As you may recall, the two were involved in an altercation after losing the Mid-South Tag Team Titles to the Wild Samoans. Things got even more chaotic between the two of them when…well, take a look for yourself. Those two men are rumored to be facing each other on November 5 in the Superdome in New Orleans, but that match has not been signed as of yet. We’ll be sure to keep you posted, but first, take a look at where the stars of Mid-South Wrestling will be headed. (A video bumper highlighting upcoming Mid-South shows airs.) Now we move on to the Sunshine State of Florida. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race was in the area this past week and made several successful defenses of his championship. Race will be in Japan this coming week, and should he return with the championship, expect him to make defenses against the best the NWA has to offer. One man Race may have to contend with is the Florida Heavyweight Champion, Dusty Rhodes. We did not receive a copy of the title change prior to this show airing last week, so for those of you who missed it, let’s relive the night Dusty Rhodes regained the Florida Championship. Definitely a feel good moment. We know Rhodes has defeated Race for the NWA World Title on two occasions already, so if that match happens down the line, don’t be surprised to see that happen yet again. That’s all assuming, of course, that Race retains the title long enough for Rhodes to get that shot. (A video bumper highlighting upcoming events in Florida airs) Now we move on to the World Wrestling Association. It was announced this weekend that on December 3, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, currently Harley Race, would be defending that title against the Missouri Heavyweight Champion, currently Nick Bockwinkel. However, we know Bockwinkel will be defending that champion on at least two occasions prior to that, and as we saw on TV, there are some interesting challengers coming out of the woodwork. (A video bumper highlighting upcoming WWA shows airs) Before we leave you tonight, let’s hear some words from Harley Race in an interview conducted in Florida earlier this week. Gordon Solie interviews the champion in a locker room. Solie asks Race how the schedule has been affecting him as of late. Race acknowledges that the schedule is daunting, especially since the champion travels more than anybody else, but that whether he has the title or not, he has wrestled practically every night for more than half his life and doesn’t anticipate that changing anytime soon. Race says he looks forward to facing the best Japan has to offer next week, and he plans on returning to the United States and holding the championship for a long time to come. With that, David McLane signs off and invites us to return next week for another NWA Showcase.
  21. Since the date is still open, WWA would like to have the champion on 11/19 for TV
  22. October 22, 1983 - WWA Superstar Challenge (airing as Wrestling at the Chase in St. Louis, MO) airing live in Indianapolis and on tape delay in syndication from the WTTV Studios in Indianapolis, IN David McLane welcomes us to the show and briefly announces the title changes from last Saturday in St. Louis. Still frames play of Jimmy Snuka and Mike Rotundo defeating the Zambuie Express for the Central States Tag Team Championship as McLane describes the action. Stills then air of the Russians defeating Bobo Brazil and Brickhouse Brown to unify the World Tag Team Championship, with footage of Brown slapping Brazil after the match airing. McLane says Brazil and Brown will be out later tonight to discuss their situation. 1. One fall with a 15-minute time limit: Black Gordman & Goliath (w/Bobby Colt) battled the debuting tag team of The O Zone (Steve Olsonoski & Jerry Oske) to a time limit draw. During the match, Colt spends the match at the commentary table with McLane bragging about how Dangerous by Design caused the injury to Chavo Guerrero that eventually led to Harley Race retaining the NWA World Heavyweight Title. After the match, Chavo and Mando Guerrero confront Colt, stating they are not going to allow Dangerous by Design the satisfaction of saying they took either of them out. They issue a challenge to Gordman and Goliath for next week, which is immediately accepted. 2. Non-title match (one fall with a 10-minute time limit): NWA Missouri Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel (w/Bobby Heenan) defeated newcomer Jerry Grey by submission to a figure-four leglock in 5:28. McLane interviews Bockwinkel and Heenan after the match. Bockwinkel says he told everyone he had a plan up his sleeve, and that plan was long time manager Heenan. Heenan takes his turn at the mic and says he has led Bockwinkel to world titles in two different organizations, but never the richest prize in all of sports, the NWA World Heavyweight Title. After proving himself superior to Sgt. Slaughter, there’s no way Arnold Skaaland can deny Bockwinkel a shot at what is rightfully his. Skaaland steps in and tells the champion and his manager that there will indeed be a World Heavyweight Title match on December 3 at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, IN, and that title shot will go to whoever the Missouri Heavyweight Champion is as of that date. However, he reminds both that Bockwinkel has several mandatory title defenses scheduled between now and then. Heenan says he can put the champion in the ring with anybody, the end result will be Bockwinkel retaining the Missouri Title and winning the World Title on December 3. 3. One fall with a 10-minute time limit: Another debut, this time second generation wrestler David Sammartino pins Zoltan the Great with a rolling cradle in 5:55. Dory Funk Jr. and James J. Dillon make their way to the interview area, and Funk throws confetti and blows on a noisemaker while Dillon stands next to McLane. “It’s a glorious day here in the WWA, as after last Saturday night, you will no longer see Jack Brisco here!” When McLane calls him out for his interference, Dillon reminds him that it was a Texas Death Match, which means that there were no rules, meaning that it was legal and binding and Brisco has to go. When asked what’s next for Funk, Dillon says there is only one goal for his man to have, and that is to regain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. McLane reminds Dillon that the Missouri Champion gets the next shot, and Dillon says “Well, if that’s how it has to be, let’s just say that even though we respect Mr. Bockwinkel and Mr. Heenan a great deal, we might just have to take that title off of him to get that opportunity!” McLane then interviews the former WWA World Tag Team Champions, Bobo Brazil and Brickhouse Brown. McLane asks Brown why he slapped Brazil at the end of their match last week in St. Louis, and Brickhouse apologizes to Brazil. “The World Tag belts mean the world to me, I know they mean the world to you, I lost my cool, I let you down…” Brazil tells him it’s OK and they just need to work toward getting back in contention for those championships. 4. One fall with a 10-minute time limit for the NWA Midwest Television Championship: Larry Zbyszko© pins Brickhouse Brown (w/Bobo Brazil) with his feet on the ropes in 5:03. Brown yells at the referee after the match for missing the call, and Brazil comes in trying to calm him down. David McLane announces that next week will see the debut of Koko Ware, and then highlight footage of Ware in action plays to the tune of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. Arnold Skaaland comes out and announces that in addition to the tag team match announced earlier, also next week we will see Larry Zbyszko defend the Midwest Television Title against Don Kernodle. Zbyszko comes out and says he feels he’s being singled out by being forced to defend the title every single week. Skaaland reminds Zbyszko that the title is designed to be defended on TV, and as such he will be defending the title just about every week with few exceptions. McLane cuts them off to announce time has run out on the show and to join us next week for more great action.
  23. I want to encourage the NWA promotions to try their best to remain caught up as it's easier to put the show together that way. Obviously real life gets in the way and I get that, but promotions that stay active and caught up are going to get featured more often. Also, if you want me to highlight specific angles by showing specific clips and/or airing exclusive promos from your rosters, let me know that as well. Right now with what's already been posted for this weekend I have about half of this week's show already done but I really want to showcase as many groups and angles as possible.
  24. WWA will drop Fred Marzino and Frankie Laine in order to get to the 34 wrestler cap
  25. WWA has Harley Race on its roster but aside from 11/5 (AM) and 11/12 I can make him available to all other NWA members until he drops the belt to Flair at Starrcade.
