  1. Might be too close to home, being an edge lord with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
  2. The goal for that show is to bring a larger female audience to AEW similar to Total Divas but holy shit, how could anyone see him on that show and feel it’s worth an investment?
  3. Cody has an insatiable savior complex that shines through in his constant need to be a conquering hero, let alone an ego that is almost completely unearned. It’s capital that has rightfully blown up in his face, and him shoehorning himself into situations that are completely unnatural in a company whose possibilities are seemingly endless speaks volumes about the disconnect between perception and reality. He is on an island all into his own, and him beating Black next week is going to ring about as hollow as any moment in company history.
  4. This literally couldn’t be any better.
  5. Jake Hager perpetually looks like a cardboard cutout.
  6. Cody thinking he’s the conquering hero coming back to boos, and THAT’s his return, just amazing.
  7. None of the new guys need the belt. But Page benefits most with it.
  8. Omega is banged up something fierce right now so him going 60 is a bad idea. But it’s a great way for him to lose, say he wasn’t 100% and then bring back Bryan’s first crazy stip: No time limits.
  9. Big E could legit go win a strongman comp this weekend if he wanted to.
  10. These folks naming wrestlers in WWE must have some absolutely shit names for their kids.
  11. The best thing is that Bryan might be the best wrestler of all time looking good in defeat, and that’s the route it’ll most likely take. I said earlier Omega should drop it to Danielson, and then have Page beat Danielson to get confidence to finally beat Omega, but if they really want to put a bow on this thing, Danielson’s smart enough to do that, let Page have his moment, and then he can get back into the title picture easily down the road. They literally have years of content ahead of them just with who they’ve added, and both Generico and Steen somewhat imminent. It’s insane.
  12. That’s one thing I’ll say about Tony: Dude ain’t a fan of fuck finishes. And that means when they do happen, it has to mean something.
  13. They’re gonna use it as a set up for Arthur Ashe, announce Eddie and Santana/Ortiz matches, and Bryan’s debut. Seems like a story-heavy show. Punk vs. Hobbs if he’s healthy.
  14. What an absolute shit show it’s become in such a short time. It almost seems unsavable in a way.
  15. Cage is not a legit 6’. He’s 5’10 and bloated.
  16. Miz dwarfs him though. He’s like legit six inches taller than him.
  17. Cage is like 5’8. He’d be WWE John Silver.
  18. Andy Almas about to save his job tonight.
  19. I have a feeling this was supposed to go 12-15 but they went over on a few segments. I liked the physicality but it was a bit all over the place. Good stretch run though.
  20. …nah.
  21. The Ringer has had a long standing relationship with WWE, going back to the Andre doc and other projects and access. That’s the bed they chose and they’ll have to live with it. Never said Shoemaker was smart.
  22. He carried a lot more mass in his younger days and looked bloated, I’m fine with him being more lean. Some folks just don’t do well with muscles. The only valid criticism I have for Tony right now is that he’s trying to do just a bit too much. If he scales things back 10-15% as a buffer for his segments, he has more time to adjust. If you have to produce to a schedule, you have to know that sometimes things don’t time out the way they’re supposed to. So you have some things you’re okay cutting if they’re not produced, and that’s okay. That goes back all the way to the first All Out with Okada going long and then having to rush the main, and that was without Tony! It’s TV Production 101, and was the first thing I learned when I was an assistant editor at the local FOX affiliate in my ancient days.
  23. So these segments are why folks think things lack polish in AEW. They ran long, and the most over part of Suzuki’s whole act gets cut short. You literally sign him so folks chant “Kaze Ni Nare” and they cut his entrance short.
  24. It’s so surreal to see Kenny and Bryan face to face after all these years.
  25. BOOK TONY SKEE-VONE AND ADAM COLE NOW. NOW.
