  1. For all the heel performances Kenny had this year, this is shitting all over the compendium of them all. Just a complete an utter master class.
  2. Page tapped a goddamn gusher, good lord.
  3. The pace has been perfect throughout. Danielson capitalizing on Hangman’s mistakes so quickly, Page getting on his rolls, Danielson being deliberate while being in control, and this stretch has been exquisite.
  4. You have to have a definitive finish here: because it’s either you make Danielson an unstoppable force, or you mint Page, and I think you have to mint Page, because it seems like you go that, have MJF beat Punk, and then set up that title match.
  5. Tony trying to bring the focus back on the match at all times though.
  6. I hope they don’t. Because if you go a draw for Page’s first defense, it really makes him look bad given the 30 minute draw Danielson had with Omega.
  7. I am loving the pace of this so far, especially given the expectation is that Danielson is above Hangman in-ring kayfabe-wise. A true “prove it” situation for Page.
  8. Have to imagine Keith Lee is the debut tonight.
  9. Well, then. This opens up all the possibilities.
  10. AEW being hot is also over inflating the “everyone wants to be there” camp along with a ton of other factors that aren’t normally considered outside of wishcasting. The security the company has set up for guys like Kevin and Johnny means a lot, and I’m sure they were able to come to agreements that were very good on both sides. Business-wise, this was gonna happen, but also, AEW is overflowing right now, and just “taking everyone in WWE that’s being misused and putting them in AEW” displaces a ton of folks who ARE being used correctly in AEW. And Tony has been smart about making sure everyone in the company he uses is valued regardless of whether they’re on the main shows, Dark, or rotating through their Indy appearances.
  11. No more headbutts, K, kthanx.
  12. Punk costing MJF somehow only to have MJF earn it back makes sense.
  13. The way all this is shaping up, Hangman and MJF are great first losses for Danielson and Punk (obviously Punk later on, not tonight), really putting them both over as true pillars of the company and also getting rid of that pesky 0 in the loss column that can be a booking detriment. It also makes the Omega rematch for Danielson when he comes back most likely at Revolution that much more impactful.
  14. I thought it went back to Rock’s appearance on SNL, yeah?
  15. We started on time this week? We failed.
  16. Jimmy Rave has passed away. He battled a ton of demons in recent years, and then to get the MRSA infection he did and have it take three of his limbs is just absolutely heartbreaking.
  17. It they bring them in from other farms.
  18. I do think we like to get ahead of ourselves a bit in regards to wanting to be right about hype lest we have to eat crow (this is an internet message board after all).
  19. Hook was polished and looked like he went through the right paces, which is a lot better than what can be said for most folks in their first match. On the sliding scale of debuts, definitely on the higher end, but not like, Angle/Akiyama. His natural athleticism is apparent, though, and he gets the little things.
  20. Again, Tony Khan reportedly isn’t really interested, so…??? New Japan?
  21. How dare you.
  22. Will MJF actually shut up? Probably not.
  23. In-ring style doesn’t correlate to money for WWE. Which is why they don’t put much into that.
  24. https://www.espn.com/wwe/story/_/id/32822454/wwe-signs-15-college-athletes-nil-deals-eyes-developmental-pipeline NXT decision more and more apparent now. Way more bang for your buck here, more control of talent, and you get to fully build folks from the base up. It will be interesting to see if AEW does something in response, as it seems Tony is content on combing the indies for a specific type of talent, but with his love for Mid-South and the like, could see him wanting Dustin or others to train up some big D1 athletes to come into the fold, too.
