  1. would they put Taker and Goldberg in the HOF on the same night? Reigns vs Cena seems relatively fresh and it seems like awhile since Cena was in those sort of spots. Seems like a Summertime kind of thing to move the belt to Reigns? Guessing that it'd be a risk to trust Rollins to remain healthy for a matchup vs Reigns?
  2. almost like they should have shuffled the Cena tag, HHH 25 minute match, Orton/Wyatt match order? HHH got more time than Cena, Orton/Wyatt, and the Lesnar/Goldberg sprint combined. Gotta think having that match go 25 fucked up the format a lil
  3. the Todd Pettingill Slammy song is legitimately terrible
  4. I think the NXT women's belt in that photo was already retired awhile ago because the belt in the photo has the scratch logo and the current belt has the current logo. as bad as the current world of digital security might seem, I've used the Internet long enough to remember when security for online email was a lot flimsier. Like when you could reset somebody's password by being able to guess the answer to their shitty secret question. These days, I'd hope that security was good enough to make up for the idiots that still fall for phishing emails. Although with things like the giant Yahoo hack from 2014, I can understand how "security is getting better" might not convince everybody. Also, I'm guessing Brad Maddox could make slightly more money as the doof guy in porn shoots than he'd make as an Indy wrestler. Provided he doesn't weird them out by doing his Bob Crane gimmick on the set.
  5. You think ? Coke on the belt ? Really ? I can't believe guys like Flair or Kerry would do something like that. I mean, they respected da business. I'd guess that Big Gold would be easier to ingest illegal drugs off of than the Classic NWA belt. Also suspect that the IC belt would be slightly better for spreading rails of cocaine than the Eagle WWF belt. Although I'd guess that degenerate druggies would prefer trying to snort off the leather straps instead of the uneven metallic belt plates. I wouldn't know because I haven't tried to get a drug fix off of Big Gold.
  6. Maddox literally got fired for delivering an unapproved promo at a house show and Paige is seemingly under a perma-suspension for Wellness. I'd think that the WWE realizes that the glitch has fixed itself. The person literally responsible was fired for other reasons and the other person is probably gonna be out of the WWE as soon as The Rock's movie is released. To be fair, I didn't realize Paige was still with the company until yesterday
  7. not sure what to tell somebody who was totally fine with what he was seeing in the Paige photos and videos until he saw Brad Maddox shooting on the NXT women's title belt. Would it be fair or unfair to just assume that at least one 1980s champion snorted a line of blow off of a title belt before?
  8. Lucas Oil hosting the NCAA Tournament Finals or Regionals 5 times in their first 7 Marches (in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015) probably made it difficult. Not sure how far ahead the NCAA selects regional hosts (this year they're playing regionals in arenas and not domes), but having a week gap between NCAA and Wrestlemania might not be ideal for the WWE's preferences of getting things set up. I'm guessing Atlanta United Might discourage them from going to Atlanta so quickly. Unless a giant hole opens up in their schedule to get the WWE in and out in good time. Out of the new stadiums due to emerge due to NFL moves, I wonder if they'd go to the new Vegas stadium before Inglewood.
  9. so it could have been a bit more in Japan or maybe 1995 WCW than the "hit your stuff then bodyslam/elhow drop" formula from Savage matches like Savage vs Finlay The whole planning everything trait of Savage makes he think he'd probably have a surprisingly good match with some 95/96 ECW guy that was able to actually remember preplanned spots.
  10. Regarding the concept of Randy Savage vs Sabu: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1643969-the-final-days-of-randy-macho-man-savage So, Savage would have other good reasons to want to work with Sabu.
  11. I don't think he's saying it was always going to build to a big reveal. Instead, Daniels just would be been a new character brought in for a big role. And if it was a Russo idea like Bruce said, then Russo bringing it back (albeit for a week) in WCW a year later when Vampiro was cosplaying as Undertaker makes perfect sense. This. If you look at the track record and sheets, Russo as a talent evaluator is clearly a strange cat. He pushed lots of guys he liked with bad track records, Jeff Jarrett being one of the most famous, but you've also got weird stuff like Big Vito getting lots of air time, or him pushing the worthless Harris Brothers...because....reasons? (aka probably how he knew them from WWE and they got along ok.) Vito goes back for a long time with Russo though.
  12. Wrestlers that ran for various partisan offices- Eddie Gilbert - Republican for County Clerk (1994, lost) Rick Steiner - Republican for Cherokee County School Board (last reelected 2014) Ray Traylor - Republican for Paulding County Commission Chairman (2004, lost) Rhino - Republican for Michigan State House (2016, lost) Nikolai Volkoff - Republican for Maryland State House of Delegates (2006, lost) Stan "Krusher" Kowalski (The Big K) - Democratic-Farmer-Labor for Minnesota State House (1986/2000, lost in primary) Paul Ellering - Independence Party candidate for Minnesota State House (2002, lost) Backlund was mentioned already. Lawler never ran with a party. Who cares about Brian Blair. Non-USA category: Inoki, Onita, Hase, Sasuke, Butcher Vachon, all ran for office A long while ago I found Randy Savage was a member of the Independent Party of Florida (instead of being a No Party Affiliation voter).
  13. Fan hits Basketball player with a chair during brawl in Memphis
  14. I could see Roddy Piper interviewing "Rick Flare" more than seeing Roddy Piper team with the Great Muta. They'd probably just give Bob Orton (managed by Gary Hart) to Piper instead
  15. at the risk of a slightly worse hypothetical... Roddy Piper in NWA in 1989 in the place of Terry Funk.
  16. wonder how much of Sid as champion was filmed for the Disney tapings. Also, how much scrapped taping footage did WCW keep in their archives, or did they just erase it.
  17. on the upside for Joey, he could land a job as the Director of the US Mint in January. Would give him a leg up in the land of commemorative coins,
  18. if you've had the same translator for long enough, you're kinda indirectly getting him fired if you stop using a translator. There might be an understated cultural thing in play here.
  19. As a Central Missouri graduate, I don't think Butch Reed has a statue on campus yet.
  20. Might just be a "fresh guy" sort of perception of Benoit. The top WCW guys were either long time guys and/or people that had creative control. Several big guys got vacation'd around Havoc and didn't come back until post-Souled Out. Plus, pushing Benoit means some fans might keep off your case for the bullshit you do in other situations. Pushing Booker T in 2000 might be done for a similar reason as the Benoit push? although mid-2000 had less to work with.
  21. Hm, Vince Gilligan is from Richmond, Virginia. Didn't know that.
  22. The Black Scorpion repeating Jewish Summerschool phrases makes me think that voice can make anything sinister. Or that Brian is gonna get hired to do voiceover work as an Evil Jew the next time the Iranians make an anti-Semitic TV movie
  23. I watched the end of Owen/Pintor after Bob talked about that fight and yeah, Owen went down like he was shot and killed instantly. Brutal.
