Reading now that Fenix is fine and will be wrestling tonight.

Adonis and Murdoch are gonna be a tough hill for anyone to climb. Looking forward to watching people to try. Sweetan will be a great first challenger for Ayala and the Knucks title. Get a feeling that this war between the Fabs and the Cubans is gonna get real ugly before it's over. I can't wait to see what Tully has up his sleeve. You have so many possibilities with Blanchard, I look forward to watching him grow and eventually rule TNT. Krusher comes in and wins the Battle Royal, then takes out Idol! That's one hell of a start! That match will be one hell of a brawl. Jayhawks vs Adonis & Murdoch..... Please, and Thank You! Tito coming back to team with The Fabs against the Ratamyus Pack! That'll be a fight!! Awesome main event. Surprised to see Dundee save Lawler. Still love your Funker! That Labor Day card is STACKED!! Great Stuff as Always!!

Was he expecting people in the theater to yell out "THE BIG DAWG" like Cole does every week on Raw or something? The only time you ever get loud audible reactions in movies is during opening night to stuff like Star Wars or comic book films when the theater is full of fan boys who have been waiting for the movie to come out. Other times you may get laughs, jump scares, or the occasional reaction to a giant OH SHIT moment (and Roman Reigns appearing on screen doesn't come close to Cap picking up the fucking hammer!) but that's it. What a stupid talking point.

He has the charisma and ring work to back it up. I know he's been injured, but why he hasn't been treated like a huge freaking deal since day one absolutely blows my mind.

-Broadcasting live to our local affiliates in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, as well as in Syndication across these great United States, the American Wrestling Association proudly presents World Class Wrestling, coming to you this week from the Sportatorium in Dallas!- Jim Ross: Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman, and Welcome to AWA World Class Wrestling! I'm Jim Ross, joined as always by "Cowboy" Bill Watts! Tonight we bring you the Great Texas Round Up! Bill Watts: We've been talking about it for weeks Jim, and it's finally upon us. Twenty men are going to compete to become the first AWA Southwestern Champion. Jim Ross: We know that this match will go no less than thirty eight minutes, and we expect it to go longer, so we are going to get right to it. But Bill, please quickly go over the format for those who don't know. Bill Watts: Two men will begin the match, every two minutes there after another man will join the match until all twenty have entered. Like a battle royal, men can be eliminated at any time by being thrown over the top rope and to the floor. The last man standing will be declared the Southwestern Champion. Jim Ross: There you have it folks! Now, let's see who has drawn numbers one and two. The Great Texas Round Up -AWA Southwestern Title- Entrant #1: "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin Entrant #2: Jay Youngblood Bill Watts: When it comes to luck of the draw, these two men got the raw end of the deal. They will have to last nearly forty minutes to have a shot at winning. Jim Ross: Jimmy Garvin has been so close to the Central States Title on more than one occasion, you know he'd love to win this. Entrant #3: "Gorgeous" Gary Young Jim Ross: This is bad news for Jay Youngblood! Bill Watts: While technically it is every man for himself, you know that tag teams and friends will work together....for a while. Entrant #4: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat Jim Ross: Garvin and Young have been beating on Jay Youngblood and trying to throw him out of that ring for two minutes, but help is on the way! Entrant #5: Bobby Duncum Jim Ross: One half of The Highwaymen, big Bobby Duncum heads to the ring. Bill Watts: It will be interesting to see who he goes after. Entrant #6: Brian Adias Jim Ross: Brian Adias is another man who is itching to hold some gold. He was contending for the Televison Title before he got involved with The Movement. Elimination #1: Jimmy Garvin and Gary Young were working over Ricky Steamboat in the corner. When Brian Adias climbed into the ring, Gary Young left Steamboat to Garvin and looked to get the jump on him. Young charged across the ring and was hoping to catch Adias with a huge clothesline, but Brian ducked down at the last second, and back dropped "Gorgeous" Gary over the top rope and to the floor! "Gorgeous" Gary Young is Eliminated Jim Ross: We have our first elimination! Bill Watts: Young tried to get one over on Adias, but ended up out of the ring and the match. Jim Ross: Folks, we'll be right back! -Commercial Break- Entrant #7: Mark Youngblood Jim Ross: Welcome back Ladies and Gentleman, Mark Youngblood entered the match while we were away, and no one was eliminated. Bill Watts: We should actually be expecting our next competitor in about thirty seconds.... Entrant #8: Baron Von Raschke Jim Ross: The fans here in Dallas sure don't like this guy Bill. Bill Watts: You declare yourself the master of the Iron Claw around these parts, your lucky you don't get killed! Entrant #9: Phil Hickerson Bill Watts: The other half of The Highwaymen, Phil Hickerson. He'll be tough to get up and over that top rope. Jim Ross: So we have both Highwaymen, both Youngbloods, Garvin, Steamboat, Adias, and Von Raschke battling it out in the ring! -Commercial Break- Entrant #10: Kendall Windham Jim Ross: Young Kendall Windham hit the ring during the break and he is punching away at Jimmy Garvin!! Bill Watts: There might just be a little bad blood there Jim! Jim Ross: Here comes Number Eleven.... Entrant #11: Bruiser Brody Jim Ross: I think business is about to pick up! Bill Watts: Brody just charge down the aisle and hit that ring like a freight train! Elimination #2: Kendall Windham had been blasting away at Jimmy Garvin with lefts and rights and had Garvin slumped against the bottom turnbuckle seeing stars. Windham stood up and was caught with a huge furry boot to the side of the face that sent him sailing over the top rope and to the floor. Kendall Windham is Eliminated Bill Watts: Look's like Kendall won't be getting a belt to match his brothers! Elimination #3: Brody's momentum didn't slow after kicking Windham out of the ring as he saw his next target and after stopping to loose a "Huss" at the crowd, he waited for Baron Von Raschke to turn around, and then Brody charged at him and caught him with a huge clothesline that sent the Baron directly over the top rope and to the floor. Baron Von Raschke is Eliminated Jim Ross: The Baron never even saw him coming! Elimination #4 & #5: Bobby Duncum had Mark Youngblood on his shoulder and was trying to shove him out of the ring. Mark was holding onto the ropes with both hands doing his best to fight the elimination. Neither of them saw Bruiser Brody come from behind and scoop Duncum up, depositing both of them over the top rope and to the floor. Mark Youngblood is Eliminated Bobby Duncum is Eliminated Jim Ross: Good Lord, Brody is like a hurricane in the ring! Bill Watts: He's eliminated four men in less than a minute! Entrant #12: Iceman King Parson Jim Ross: Parsons is headed to the ring, and you best believe he'll be going after Adias. Bill Watts: I'd be willing to bet....wait a minute...why is Big John Studd behind him? He's not entered in this thing? Elimination #6: Parson slid into the ring and went straight after Brian Adias. But just behind him came Big John Studd with a steel chair. He stepped into the ring and headed straight toward Brody who was tied up with Phil Hickerson. WHAM! Studd cracked Brody across the back with the chair. WHAM! A second shot, this time in the head. WHAM! A third shot sent Brody sagging in the ropes, blood already streaming down his face. Studd looked at Hickerson, then pointed at Brody and yelled "THROW HIM OUT!" Hickerson came over and bundled the stunned Brody out of the ring. Bruiser Brody is Eliminated Jim Ross: John Studd just assaulted Bruiser Brody with a chair! Is this legal Bill? Bill Watts: Technically there are no rules in a match like this. Studd wasn't entered, so he couldn't eliminate Brody, but since Hickerson was the one who threw him out, even though Studd did the damage, unfortunately it counts. Brody is out. Jim Ross: Pardon me Bill, but that stinks. Bill Watts: I don't disagree Jim. Jim Ross: Security is escorting Studd out of the building, officials and paramedics are checking on Brody. Let's go ahead and take a break. -Commercial Break- Entrant #13: "Hollywood" John Tatum Jim Ross: Jimmy Garvin has been in this match for nearly twenty five minutes, I am sure he is glad to see John Tatum. Bill Watts: Look Jim....Adias and Iceman..... Elimination #7 & #8: Iceman King Parsons and Brian Adias had been fighting since pretty much the moment that Parsons had hit the ring. There had been no wrestling involved, just punches, chops, kicks, just straight up two men who don't like one another going at it. Now they were locked in a death grip trying to throw one another. Both of them were hung up on the rope, arms intertwined like they were trying to hiptoss each other out, just struggling for dominance. Jimmy Garvin saw it as an opportunity, grabbed a leg of each man and used the leverage of the ropes to dump both of them to the floor. Iceman King Parsons is Eliminated Brian Adias is Eliminated Bill Watts: Adias and Parsons are both gone! They've hit the floor and are still fighting!! Jim Ross: We've got five men in the ring, with seven men left to come. Entrant #14: The Grappler Jim Ross: Here comes The Grappler. Bill Watts: This environment is perfect for him, he has no friends. Elimination #9: Ricky Steamboat has hold of one leg of big Phil Hickerson and is trying to hoist him out of the ring. The Grappler comes over and grabs the other leg and the two of them hoist Hickerson up and over the top rope to the floor. Phil Hickerson is Eliminated Bill Watts: Just like that Grappler helps Ricky Steamboat take out Phil Hickerson. Jim Ross: and now Grappler is attacking Steamboat!! Elimination #10: Jay Youngbloods and Jimmy Garvin started the match and have been in the ring for nearly a half hour. Both of them are tired, but right now Youngblood is in trouble as Garvin and Tatum are just beating on him in the corner. He is trying to fight back with chops, but the two of them are just too much to overcome thirty minutes into this thing. Together they scoop him up and dump him to the floor. Jay Youngblood is Eliminated Jim Ross: Jay Youngblood who entered this thing second is taken out by Garvin and Tatum. Bill Watts: Heck of a showing by Youngblood, and we are down to four men in the ring, but a fifth is about to come out. Entrant #15: Jim Powers Bill Watts: One half of the hot new tag team with Joe Savoldi, here comes Jimmy Powers! Jim Ross: Folks, we gotta take another quick break! -Commercial Break- Entrant #16: Sam Houston Jim Ross: Sam Houston hits the ring and he is all over John Tatum!! Elimination #11: The two men who have been in the ring the longest, Ricky Steamboat and Jimmy Garvin are tied up, and Steamboat has Garvin about 60% of the way out of the ring. Garvin is kicking and clawing and doing whatever he can to not get eliminated, but Steamboat is using every bit of energy he has left to get Garvin out of the ring. When the Lariat from The Grappler crashes into the back of Steamboat's head, it sends him quickly over the top rope and hard to the floor. Garvin somehow manages to lands on the apron, where he immediately wraps all of his limbs around the bottom rope. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is Eliminated Jim Ross: After one heck of an effort, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is taken out by The Grappler. Bill Watts: I can't believe Jimmy Garvin managed to hang on. Elimination #12: The Grappler wasn't finished yet. Jim Powers was watching Sam Houston blast away at John Tatum, waiting for a chance to get involved. He never noticed the masked man coming up behind him. Grappler simply grabbed a handful of hair, and a handful of tights and hurled Powers out of the ring. Jim Powers is Eliminated Jim Ross: Jim Powers is gone. Bill Watts: Inexperience just cost him that one. He was so focused on where he was going, he didn't see what was coming Jim. Jim Ross: Speaking of coming, our next entrant is on his way! Entrant #17: Kerry Von Erich Jim Ross: My God, it's deafening here in the Sportatorium! Kerry Von Erich is entering the Great Texas Round Up!! Bill Watts: You have to think he is going straight after The Grappler!! Elimination #13: Kerry tried to go straight after The Grappler, but he was jumped by John Tatum and Jimmy Garvin nearly the moment he hit the ring. It didn't take long for the fired up Von Erich to start slinging punches at both men. They were both reeling after several huge punches, and then Kerry dropped Tatum with a huge Discus Punch! He then turned around and clotheslined a teetering Jimmy Garvin over the top rope to the floor!! "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin is Eliminated Jim Ross: Kerry Von Erich has eliminated Jimmy Garvin who was in the match for close to thirty five minutes! Bill Watts: Quite a performance for Garvin tonight, but he should have stayed out of Kerry's way!! Elimination #14: "Hollywood" John Tatum got up from the big Discus Punch holding his jaw and woozy. He turned around and BOOM, Kerry was waiting and another big Discus Punch sent him sailing backwards over the ropes and he crashed to the floor!! "Hollywood" John Tatum is Eliminated Jim Ross: Kerry gets rid of Tatum too! Now no one stands between him and The Grappler!! Bill Watts: FISTS ARE FLYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!! Entrant #18: Stan Stasiak Bill Watts: Stan Stasiak gets a great draw, and he is a very dangerous man to be entering this late. Jim Ross: Folks, we have to take our last break, don't go away!!! -Commercial Break- Elimination #15: Sam Houston was doing his best to help Kerry fight The Grappler and Stasiak, but Stasiak apparently had enough of the interference and nailed Houston with a huge knee to the midsection, gave him a headbutt between the eyes, then hurled him over the top rope and out of the match. Sam Houston is Eliminated Jim Ross: Sam Houston is out, and Kerry Von Erich is alone against Grappler and Stasiak. Bill Watts: Only for about twenty more seconds, or until they decide to turn on one another. Whichever comes first. Entrant #19: Joe Savoldi Jim Ross: Joe Savoldi pulls number nineteen, and he is sprinting down to the ring! Bill Watts: It looks like Stasiak is waiting to meet him though! Elimination #16: As soon as Savoldi slides into the ring, he is met with a series of stomps from Stan Stasiak. Stasiak then reaches down and yanks the kid to his feet by the hair. Stasiak deftly pulls his arm behind his head and plows him with the Heart Punch! Savoldi goes limp, and Stasiak deposits him over the top rope like a bag of garbage. Joe Savoldi is Eliminated Bill Watts: Heart Punch and Savoldi is done in moments... Jim Ross: THE GRAPPLER!! Elimination #17: Across the ring The Grappler was continuing to work on Kerry Von Erich. Along with Stasiak, he had pretty well stomped Kerry into the mat much to the chagrin of the fans in the Sportatorium. While Stasiak had left to deal with Savoldi, Grappler was still hammering forearms and stomps into Von Erich, inflicting some extra damage ahead of the Superdome match they have coming up on Sunday. Simultaneously with Savoldi being eliminated, Kerry summoned most of the remaining strength in his body, grabbed hold of the legs of The Grappler and came off the canvas like a rocket. He lifted The Grappler into the air, up over his head and dumped him in a back body drop over the top rope to the floor!! The Grappler is Eliminated Jim Ross: KERRY HAS ELIMINATED THE GRAPPLER!!! Bill Watts: Stasiak is coming after Kerry now! Elimination #18: Stasiak charges across the ring after Von Erich and the two of them begin exchanging punches. Kerry quickly gains the upper hand and has Stasiak reeling. Kerry whips Stasiak into the ropes and fires off a dropkick that sends Stasiak sailing out of the ring and to the floor! Stan Stasiak is Eliminated Bill Watts: Stasiak is out of there, Kerry stands alone, and we have one person left to enter. Jim Ross: The Grappler! The Grappler is loading his boot on the floor.... The Grappler slides back into the ring, and Kerry turns around just in time to be met with a huge Lariat. The Grappler then follows it up with a huge kick to the side of the head of Kerry Von Erich with the boot that everyone just saw him load up on the floor. Von Erich goes down in a heap, out cold on the canvas, and The Grappler exits the ring and heads for the back. Jim Ross: This is ridiculous Bill! The Grappler had already been eliminated! Now Kerry is out cold. Entrant #20: Mystery Entrant Jim Ross: What the heck... As Kerry Von Erich lays motionless in the ring, an instrumental version of Elvis Pressley's Jailhouse Rock begins to play in the Sportatorium. First we see Sunshine come walking, well... dancing toward the ring. She is wearing a black shirt, white shoes, and a poodle skirt! Behind her is the man we've seen in the vignettes the past several weeks. He has jet black hair done up in a pompadour and is sporting large black sideburns. He is wearing light blue wrestling tights, that actually flare just below the knee to make them look like bell bottoms, with the word's "Greatest of All Time" emblazoned across the rear in white lettering. He is also wearing a darker blue leather jacket that has tassels hanging from the arms and lots of gold highlighted designs covering the arms and back. Strapped across his back and gripped in his right hand is an acoustic guitar! White boots and large gold sunglasses round out the outfit. The two of them make it down to ringside, where they make a lap of the ring, stopping on each side so that he can do a little hip swiveling dance for the crowd as Sunshine claps and smiles. Sunshine then takes the guitar from him, and helps him remove his jacket and sunglasses. The man then extends his cheek to her, and she plants a big kiss on it. With a big smile on his face, he heads for the ring. Elimination #19: Kerry Von Erich during all of this has managed to crawl to the ropes, and was using them to pull himself up. He had his left hand on the top rope and his right hand on the middle rope and was pushing himself to his feet, when the mystery man grabbed him by the trunks and the hair, and flung him over the top rope to the floor! Kerry Von Erich is Eliminated Jim Ross: This can't be... You've gotta be kidding me! This guy is just gonna waltz in here.... Bill Watts: This match is all about the luck of the draw Jim, and this guy couldn't have gotten any luckier. Unbelievable.. Jim Ross: Who in the hell is he! Bill Watts: Looks like Marc Lowrance is about to find out. Marc Lowrance enters the ring as Sunshine is strapping the Southwestern Championship around the waist of her man, as the Sportatorium crowd is throwing hot dog wrappers and soda cups at them. Marc Lowrance: Marc Lowrance here with the winner, and the new Southwestern Heavyweight Champion. Now, I recognize Sunshine, but...who are you? "Well Mike, my name is Wayne Ferris, but most people call me the Honky Tonk Man. Tonight you and all these idiots can call me Champ!" Marc Lowrance: The Honky Tonk Man? Honky Tonk Man: That's right! The Honky Tonk Man! and this here is my Sunshine, my only Sunshine! Tell 'em who I am baby! Sunshine: He's the Greatest of All Time! The Greatest Singer! The Greatest Dancer! The Greatest Guitar Player! and The Greatest Wrestler! Honky Tonk Man: That's Right! The Greatest Wrassler! and I just proved it! You saw it Mitch! I came in here and I beat nineteen other men, and I became the Southwestern Champion, and I did it without even breaking a sweat! I'm just that good! The rain of trash increases as the Sportatorium crowd is getting angrier the more this guy talks. Honky Tonk Man: Now, I don't know what kind of joint your running here, but it seems to me that these degenerate Texans don't appreciate the greatness of the Honky Tonk Man! So Sunshine baby, let's me and you go hop in my Pink Cadillac, and head on back to the greatest city on God's Green Earth.... Memphis, Tennessee! That did it! The boo's increased to deafening levels, and now fulls cups were hitting the ring. Security had to stop more than one person from advancing on the ring, and several officers came to ringside to escort the new champion and his valet to the back. Before they left, Sunshine leaned into the microphone one last time. Sunshine: Ladies and Gentleman, Wayne Ferris, the Honky Tonk Man is Leaving the Building! GREAT TEXAS ROUND UP WINNER, AND THE FIRST AWA SOUTHWESTERN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: "HONKY TONK MAN" WAYNE FERRIS Jim Ross: ....... Bill Watts: ....... Jim Ross: Fans, I don't know what to say. Bill? Bill Watts: See you at the Superdome? Jim Ross: Folks, if you can please join us at the Superdome on the 25th for The Battle of New Orleans, and please join us back here next week for more World Class Wrestling. For Bill Watts, I'm Jim Ross..... the honky tonk man? Bill Watts: Look, I don't do the hiring....

Patriots pick up a nice win to open the show. Brett Sawyer gets the win over Beefcake, and I can't think the David/Haystacks/Beefcake trio will be happy about that one! Dr. Tom shows up to help Horner, and they send Sword and Vines packing! Be interesting to see if Prichard and Horner is a full time team after this, or just two promising youngsters. Anderson's beating down Buck makes the heart happy. Them beating down Brad, not to much. Kokina wins the battle of the bulk, and the trio is 0 for 2! Sammartino saves the night and puts down Lightfoot. I bet he is gonna be irate at his partners....lackeys Awesome work on the 6 man, Doll switching out the brick for the powder to get past the ref inspection is an awesome idea. The eventual Reed/Saito title match is gonna be great. Well, I hate to see the Anderson's lose the belts. Especially to Rick Martel. But Brad coming back out and getting his revenge is pretty sweet! and Harley Race has chosen his side. The Race/Blackwell/Patera trio in the course of 5 minutes becomes one of the most powerful forces in all of the AWA. Dibiase is in a world of trouble. Great Show!!

Since this company is famous for punishing people for getting over when they aren't supposed to be over, and the Full Sail crowd is going to cheer for who they want to cheer for....how long before they move the tapings out of Full Sail?

Hart Foundation picks up the expected victory over the handpicked competition! Nice No Contest Bloodbath with the Sheepherders and Singh/Pogo. The follow up to that should be nasty!! Hansen and Bad News..... Damn..... Damn. Hansen survives the Sickle! Lariat knocks out Volkoff!! Hansen and Bad News Win!! Damn!! The Bulldogs take down The Road Warriors!! Holy Shit! This tournament keeps on giving out awesome moments!!! Look at that Final Four!! Literally any of those teams could win this. JYD coming in to challenge Flair. That'll be a fight. Great Stuff Dude!

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Blehschmidt replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
So I just learned today that Jesse Ventura's last match was actually in 1990! It was a dark match at a Superstars taping where he teamed with Roddy Piper against The Orient Express, and the footage was used in the pilot for their failed TV show called "Tag Team" Maybe everyone but me knew this, but I thought it was interesting and decided to share. Now to try and find the footage! -
Man, when Les Thatcher says he has a huge announcement, he doesn't mess around. Two huge matches!!! That Landell promo gets my vote for Promo of the Year. The cactus line is going in my insult playbook!! Looking forward to seeing who steps up and challenges Super Black Ninja as Fuji continues to talk! This Soul Patrol and Rat Patrol thing is getting real personal and real ugly, real fast. Nightmares with a nice win in the battle royal, they'd been on a bit of a downslide, so good for them! Well, nevermind, they lost!! Good Lord, with half the roster sent packing, and half of them cuffed to the ring, Buddy still manages to cheat for the win, The Grapplers still get to Kerry, and as soon as they are free, Schultz is still after his money!! Can't wait to see what happens at the Superdome!!

Dr. D with a baseball bat! Adrian Street and Bundy nearly becoming Tag Team Champions and that finish with Terry Gordy coming off like the biggest superstar in the AWA... What a Night in Birmingham!!!

Re-united Brito and Parisi get one over on The Enforcers to open the show, then Murdoch and Adonis take out the good looking youngsters much to the chagrin of the young ladies. Jayhawks over the Cowboys!!!! YES!!! and the Bombers put away the Samoans. I had a feeling The Enforcers wouldn't take that loss lightly, as they cost Brito/Parisi, and Murdoch/Adonis are going to the finals! My boys the Jayhawks put down the Bombers and they are going to the finals! Jayhawks vs Adonis/Murdoch.. Fuck Yeah! Steele and Shaw have another fight without a winner. Put these men in a cage!! Murdoch and Adonis use a distracted referee and some good old fashioned heel tactics to win the belts and put away the Jayhawks. I can't even be mad! Well put together tournament, great outcome, awesome stuff! Awesome main event, and glad to see the Fabs retain. Great Show!

The series between the Samoans and The Mountain Men is fun, but I have to admit I am pulling for the Mountain Men! Ladd is really pushing the buttons of McDaniel, and while it made me laugh, I get the feeling that Wahoo is gonna chop the skin off his chest. Bass/Embry versus Adams/Von Erich is getting intense! Oh Man! The big red X finish! Nothing was worse as a kid, cause you wanted to see that shit!!

Martel just doesn't learn! How many partners do the Anderson's have to cripple before he stops talking! Interested to see who Tim Horner picks to take on Vines and Sword. Loser Leaves Town are big stakes for a mystery partner to get involved in! The feud between Saito/Reed and their respective groups is heating up nicely. When they finally clash in the ring, it should be an all out war. It's going to be very interesting to see what kind of decisions Harley Race makes inside that cage. One thing is for sure, they will benefit Harley Race. Excited to watch that one play out.

Big night in TNT as all of the tag teams are gearing up for the tournament! I am rooting for the Jayhawks, but the smart money has to be on Adonis and Murdoch. Fabulous Ones and the Cubans is going to be a war, and the Fabs are going to be lucky to make it out of that one in one piece, let alone with the belts. Tully secures himself a shot at Dibiase, and good god, that's a match I'd like to be sitting front row for. I knew Blanchard wasn't going to take shit sitting down, and I get the feeling that the mind games with The Axe aren't done yet. Man, Putski took out poor Tito, and I think he's spent most of his time here in TNT on the shelf. But when he comes back, he'll be fired up, and it should be one heck of a fight. I'm as confused as DJ Peterson about what Killer Brooks wants, but Brooks is a crazy bastard, so DJ better watch himself. Good Lord, Jumbo powerbombs Dream Machine on the concrete! The dream is over. Yikes. and here comes my weekly dose of The Funker! Your paranoid Terry is just amazing, and this feud with Lawler is going to be one for the ages. Great brawl to end the show! Looking forward to the tag tournament, and the Labor Day show is already shaping up to be a blockbuster.

-Broadcasting live to our local affiliates in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, as well as in Syndication across these great United States, the American Wrestling Association proudly presents World Class Wrestling, coming to you this week from the North Side Coliseum in Fort Worth!- Jim Ross: Hello Everyone and Welcome to AWA World Class Wrestling! I'm Jim Ross, and "Cowboy" Bill Watts will be joining me momentarily, but first he has some announcements to make! So let's head down to ringside and The Cowboy! We cut down to ringside where Bill Watts is waiting, microphone in hand! Bill Watts: Thank You Jim! Let me start off by saying that things have been wild here in World Class for the last few weeks, so tonight we are going to try and do something about it! If these guys all want to fight, we are going to let them fight! In the main event you are going to see Kevin and Kerry Von Erich team up with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to take on World Class Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel, The Grappler, and Baron Von Raschke! Then as we announced last week, The Glamour Boys, The Highwaymen, The Youngbloods, and Whatley and Conway of The Movement will square off in a four corners match, and the winners will go on to challenge for the AWA World Tag Team Titles at the Superdome! All of the men in these matches have either attacked each other, talked about fighting each other, or fought each other over the last few weeks, so tonight they can fight some more. Also to make sure no one else gets involved, I have barred Bruiser Brody, Big John Studd, Brian Adias, and Iceman King Parsons from the building!! Watts waits for a moment as the fans cheer, and then continues on. Now, everyone wants to know what The Great Texas Round Up is! Next week, right here on World Class television, we are going to crown the first AWA Southwestern Champion, and we are going to do it in The Great Texas Round Up. Here is what that means.... Twenty wrestlers will compete for the title. It will be like a battle royal, but instead of all the men starting in the ring, only two of them will start the match. Then by random lottery, every two minutes after that another wrestler will enter the Round Up until all twenty men have entered. Wrestlers can be eliminated at any time by being thrown over the top rope like in a battle royal, and the last man standing will be declared the Southwestern Champion. It will be a battle of guts, stamina, and will power. The winner will be deserving of being called champion. Lastly, for you fans in the St. Louis area, we are pleased to announce that on Labor Day, we will be bringing you another huge Star Wars event! We'll start announcing matches for that soon, so stay tuned! Thank you everyone, now let's get to some action! Jim Ross: There you have it folks, a huge night of action here tonight, and next week The Great Texas Round Up! Let's head down to the ring for our first match! 1 Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit -The Islanders (Samu/Tonga Kid) vs Jack Spade/Tim Bennant- This was a vicious, one sided, brutal squash that lasted about two and a half minutes. Bennant took the initial brunt of headbutts, a brutal kick to the guts, and a Samoan drop. He was thrown into his corner where Spade tagged himself in off his partners lifeless corpse. Twin superkicks, a pair of flying headbutts, then an assisted flying splash from the top rope later, and was also dead! Winners: The Islanders After the match The Islanders approach Marc Lowrance and Tonga Kid takes the microphone. He speaks a few sentences in a Polynesian language of some sort, but the only words intelligible to people who don't know the language, are Titles and Midnight Express. After the last two, Samu sticks out his tongue and runs his finger across his throat. The Islanders then head for the locker room. Bill Watts: Jim, I don't think I'd wanna be Eaton, Condrey, or the mama's boy at the Superdome! Jim Ross: I don't know what he said, but I'm guessing they weren't inviting them to dinner. Bill Watts: They might be dinner. Jim Ross: Heh! Folks, we'll be right back! -Commercial Break- 1 Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit -"Hollywood" John Tatum/"Gorgeous" Gary Young vs Jim Powers/Joe Savoldi- After picking up a big win against The Moondogs in their debut, Powers and Savoldi looked to keep the momentum going tonight, but before the bell even rang, Young and Tatum were on them. Powers was tossed to the floor, and they quickly dragged Savoldi into the corner. Tatum and Young were ruthless, roughing Savoldi up with elbows, chops, slams, and whatever else they could think of, all while making frequent tags, and using every opportunity to execute double teams on top of it. Powers was stomping his feet, and beating the turnbuckle like a mad man, and the crowd was with him, willing Savoldi to get back in the fight. Finally, when Tatum went for an atomic drop, Joe was able to flip clear over top of him and avoid taking the move. In doing so, he inadvertently collided with referee Ron West, sending him to the canvas. Gary Young quickly reached into the ring and grabbed a handful of Savoldi's hair and jerked him to the canvas. Jim Powers had seen enough and charged into the ring and began exchanging punches with John Tatum. Gary Young was about to enter the ring and help his partner, when Sam Houston and Kendall Windham came charging down the aisle and yanked Young off the apron. The two young cowboys quickly overwhelmed Young and then laid him out with a big double bodyslam on the floor! John Tatum had managed to fend off Jim Powers for a moment, and turned around just in time to see his partner get laid out! He began yelling at Houston and Windham, who simply pointed behind him. Tatum turned and Powers hoisted him onto his shoulder and nailed him with a huge Power Slam! Powers helped his recovering partner Savoldi to cover Tatum, and then shook Ron West awake...1,2,3!! Winners: Jim Powers/Joe Savoldi Bill Watts: Ha Ha! I Like It! Jim Ross: Powers and Savoldi pick up the win, with an assist from Houston and Windham. Bill Watts: A win is a win Jim! Jim Ross: You can't think Tatum, Young, or even Jimmy Garvin are going to be very happy about it though. Bill Watts: After the sneak attack last week, they had it coming. Jim Ross: Well Bill, I think your good mood is about to be ruined... Jim Cornette leads The Midnight Express of Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey to ringside where Marc Lowrance is standing by. Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome.... Jim Cornette: Shut It Lowrance, I'll do the talking around here. Now I saw those two goofs out here earlier making ooga booga noises into the microphone and trying to act all scary, but if you think for even a minute that my men are scared of George of the Jungle you got another thing coming! While those two idiots are eating coconuts and trying to stop their grass huts from blowing away in the rain, my men are training in the finest gyms that my Mother's money can buy! So come the Superdome, you are going to see that finesse and tag team expertise will win out over two savages who don't even wear boots every day of the week and twice on Sunday! So forget about Shampoo and Tonka Truck Kid. What you people are looking at right now is the greatest tag team that ever walked the face of the planet Earth. The two baddest men to ever step foot in the squared circle. Every man's nightmare, and every woman's fantasy, the World Class Tag Team Champions, Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Dennis, The Midnight Express! 1 Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit -The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton/Dennis Condrey) vs Tylor Shane/Bill Davis- Dennis Condrey caught Tylor Shane with a huge knee to the gut out of the lock up, gave him a hellacious bodyslam, then dropped a knee on his face. He tagged in Bobby, who went straight to the top and dropped a knee from the top rope. Dennis knocked Davis off the apron, as Eaton covered Shane. The Midnights were making a point tonight! Winners: The Midnight Express -Commercial Break- A video plays and we are taken to what looks to be a dressing room area in a high end department store. The room is surrounded by mirrors, and there are several chairs, most of which have clothing articles laid over them. In the middle chair sits Sunshine (last seen here in World Class managing Eddie Hogan) and she appears to be waiting for someone to come out from the dressing area. "Is that the one baby?" "I think so darlin" comes the voice from inside the dressing room, the same voice we heard last week from the man with the black sideburns and pompadour haircut. The camera pans around a bit to focus on Sunshine, and we can hear the door to the dressing room come open. Her eyes light up, and a big smile crosses her face. "Oh baby, that's what I like" The camera pulls back just enough that we catch a view of what looks like a lot of fringe and a lot of glittering gold coming out of the dressing room. Jim Ross: Welcome back folks. Just before the break, we saw the World Class Tag Team Champions dominate their competition. Bill Watts: Taking nothing away from Eaton and Condrey, they are a great team, but those guys weren't The Islanders, and if Cornette isn't careful he might find himself on the receiving end of an Islanders whooping, and I'd love to see it! Jim Ross: Okay folks, it is time for the four corners match to decide who will face The Road Warriors for the AWA World Tag Team Titles at The Battle for New Orleans. Cowboy, please explain how this is going to work. Bill Watts: Pretty easy Jim. Like a normal tag team match, only two men in the ring at time. Pinfalls, submissions, count outs, and disqualifications are all still in play. However, you don't have to tag your own partner, you can tag anyone you want, other than your opponents partner. The match will continue until three of the teams have been eliminated, and the last team standing will earn the right to challenge for the AWA World Tag Team Titles. 1 Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit -The Glamour Boys (Steve Doll/Steve Simpson) vs The Movement (Shaska Whatley/Tiger Conway Jr) vs The Youngbloods (Jay Youngblood/Mark Youngblood) vs The Highwaymen (Bobby Duncum/Phil Hickerson)- Elimination #1: The match had been going for nearly fifteen minutes, Mark Youngblood and Phil Hickerson were in the ring and Youngblood had just scored with an impressive dropkick that sent Hickerson staggering backwards into the ropes near his corner. While Youngblood was getting back up off the canvas, Hickerson reached out and tagged in Duncum. Youngblood never saw the tag and grabbed Hickerson, and shot him into the ropes. Duncum snuck in from behind and blasted Youngblood in the back of the head with a forearm, which allowed Hickerson who now had momentum to blast him with a big clothesline, which sent him right back into the waiting arms of Duncum, who slapped on a Sleeper Hold. Hickerson quickly charged across the ring and knocked Jay Youngblood off the apron, then followed him out to the floor to stop him from breaking it up. Mark fought valiantly, but soon enough he was out. The Youngbloods are Eliminated Jim Ross: Jay and Mark Youngblood are the first team out thanks to some double teaming by The Highwaymen. Bill Watts: You have to give them credit Jim. Hickerson knew where he was and knew he was in trouble, so he reached out and tagged his partner without Youngblood ever knowing. Elimination #2: Just as the match passed the twenty minute mark, Steve Simpson tagged in Steve Doll and they nailed Bobby Duncum with a double dropkick that sent him sailing in between the top and middle rope and out to the floor. Doll waited until Duncum got back to his feet and grabbed hold of the top rope, and used it to propel himself up and out of the ring and on top of Duncum! He got to his feet and was soaking in the adulation of the crowd, but Phil Hickerson had seen enough and blasted him in the back with a steel chair. Referee Jerry Usher immediately called for the Disqualification. Steve Simpson came running to help his partner, but he caught a blow from the chair on top of the head that put him down and out. The Highwaymen are Eliminated Bill Watts: The war between these two teams certainly isn't over! Jim Ross: The Highwaymen just cost themselves a shot at the AWA World Tag Team Titles, but I don't think they care. The Glamour Boys may be lucky if they can continue this match. Bill Watts: Let's take a commercial break while the referee gets this under control, and we'll see if they can still go when we get back. -Commercial Break- Jim Ross: Alright folks, Steve Simpson is busted open, and Steve Doll is hurting, but the Glamour Boys are going to continue! Elimination #3: Whatley and Conway were taking turns beating on Steve Doll who was heavily favoring his back after the chair shot. The Movement was making quick tags, and just cruelly focusing on it with big bodyslams, stomps and elbows to the back, and taking turns ramming Doll back first into their corner. The match looked to be over when Conway locked Doll in a Boston crab, but Simpson rushed into the ring and blasted Conway with a huge right hand. This brought Whatley into the ring, and he nailed Simpson with a big clothesline, then picked him back up and dropped him throat first on the ropes. As Whatley kicked the fallen Simpson out of the ring, Conway pulled Doll to his feet and shoved him at Whatley. Whatley knelt down and lifted Doll onto his shoulders as Conway ascended to the second rope. Conway leapt off and caught Doll with a clothesline, as Pez fell backwards with Doll. Conway quickly covered Doll and the referee counted the 1,2,3. The Glamour Boys are Eliminated Winners: The Movement Jim Ross: Shaska Whatley and Tiger Conway are your winners, but did you notice what they used to get the win Bill? Bill Watts: I sure did Jim, and you can bet The Road Warriors saw it too. Jim Ross: Marc Lowrance is standing by with Whatley and Conway. At ringside Marc Lowrance is with Whatley and Conway who are both smiling. Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, here are your winners, who will go on to challenge The Road Warriors for the AWA World Tag Team Titles in New Orleans, Shaska Whatley and Tiger Conway Jr. Tiger Conway Jr: All you white devils thought that Tiger Conway was just out here recruiting a bunch of losers and running his mouth. You all thought that I was just saying things to try and get myself some attention. Then when we started making some noise, y'all didn't like it, cause you prefer when we quiet. Then when I started taking out my own, you started to take notice. Now I got the real brothers standing by my side, and it just got real didn't it! Shaska Whatley: Road Warriors! You seen what just went down didn't ya! You seen The Movement take out three other teams to get the chance to take you down. All them muscles, all them spikes, and that make up, that don't scare us. Where we come from, punks like you wouldn't last ten minutes. So you bring them shiny gold belts, and you come on down to New Orleans, because that's going be the end of your road, and it's gonna be where The Movement grows. Tiger Conway Jr: Ya Dig? Whatley and Conway leave to a chorus of jeers as Marc Lowrance shrugs his shoulders, and we cut back to Ross and Watts. Jim Ross: They seem confident Bill. Bill Watts: They'd better be, they have quite the task ahead of them. Jim Ross: Alright folks, it is time for our main event, a huge six man tag team match with bad blood all around! The Von Erichs, Kerry and Kevin will team up with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to take on World Class Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel, The Grappler, and Baron Von Raschke. Bill Watts: Steamboat has stated that he is here for Bockwinkel to get revenge for The Junkyard Dog. Kevin Von Erich has a date with Bockwinkel at the Superdome, but Von Raschke viciously attacked him several weeks back and declared himself the master of the Iron Claw. While that can't sit well with either Von Erich, Kerry has been tied up in a battle with The Grappler. So all six of these men have something to prove here tonight! Jim Ross: Let's take our final commercial break and then we'll have all the action! -Commercial Break- 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Kevin Von Erich/Kerry Von Erich/Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs Nick Bockwinkel/The Grappler/Baron Von Raschke- This broke down before the bell even rang as Kerry charged across the ring and tackled The Grappler. Von Raschke immediately began stomping on Kerry, which drew Kevin quickly into the fight. Bockwinkel wasted no time in exiting the ring, but was met on the floor by Steamboat and cracked in the chest with a big chop! The Von Erich's were getting the best of Von Raschke and The Grappler when a second Grappler came out of the crowd and entered the ring, and the two Grapplers started overwhelming Kerry... On the floor, Bockwinkel was doing his best to make his way up the aisle and away from all of this, but Steamboat was pretty much chopping him up the aisle! As they were going up the aisle, another masked man appeared from behind the curtain and raced toward the ring... Jim Ross: THAT'S MR. OLYMPIA FROM CONTINENTAL!! Olympia hit the ring and grabbed both of The Grappler's, cracking their heads together! He and Kerry then took control battering both of them with huge punches. Kevin meanwhile caught Von Raschke with a huge dropkick that sent him out of the ring. Jim Ross: FOLKS, THEY ARE FIGHTING ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT WE ARE OUT OF TIME!!!! SEE YOU NEXT WEEK FOR THE GREAT TEXAS ROUND UP!!

The thing about Cassidy is that if you've ever seen his work under his other gimmick in Chikara, he is an excellent high flyer and has a pretty decent game all around. If they can somehow meld that into the Cassidy character without losing the appeal of the character, I think he can do big things.
