  4. Check out the YouTube videos called 1984 - A Year of Transition...you can see him as the main heel in Crockett for the first part of the year and he is pretty damn good, and I dont see a FUnk clone in him on that run....He has good matches with Flair and Greg Valenine (right before Greg left for WWF) and is trying to get every title. Also forms a small stable with Gary Hart / Ivan Koloff and another guy.. Here is part 1 of over 100 videos:
  5. Enjoying the hell outta NJPW heavies from 90-92 right now...about to head into 1993.... That, and watching some of the 2000's Puro as well...
  6. That is a great point...if they go out there and the crowd gets really into it, I think those two could have got something going and had a decent match, I really do.. As for the "its not those days anymore"...you just described why the whole sport doenst have the passion attached to it that it did then...you have little kids cheering for their favorite and us watching it hoping for a good match but also hoping for something to tear down later...I am part of that group...but its not the same...

  8. No, not at all, but I am saying the crowd could have (and in my opinion SHOULD) have just treated like that kind of "dream type" match it was...gave the guys the cheers and boos they would have not knowing what they were doing the next day....if the match was bad..fine, jeer them, do whatever...but with the crowd doing what they did to start, it never had a shot. Was it totally unprofessional of Goldberg and Brock to let it affect them and act the way they did in teh ring? Absoutely not...but I do think if the crowd was so "smart" it could have been a great match between two big men who've both brought it before on a HUGE stage..regardless of what they were doing the next day... Think about the territory days where a TON of that is made a thousand times better as the crowd acted on what they saw and didnt automatically attack someone cause they were "leaving.." Did some know and do that? Sure...but if those days were like the Mania XX crowd was, we would NOT have the great stuff to watch from teh past that we do... Just too much "Ha ha, I know what your plans are and I am gonna "show you" on the way out..."
  9. A lot of that early stalling could have been used very effectively had the crown either not known or just said fuck it, lets enjoy this to make things more tense when they did start locking up and wrestling, old school style... The whole thing sucks from top to bottom...its a damn shame that: 1. The two of them didnt want to go out on a HUGE note, regardless of their feelings of "how they were treated...GOLDLBERG" 2. The never gave it a shot because they were leaving...they hadnt left yet and werent going anywhere else, should have let it happen and enjoyed it...that was too smarky
  10. We all know how the Lesnar - Goldberg match at WM 20 turned out....BUT If the crowd either didnt know about both men leaving or didnt really take it to heart and gave the match their attention and New York style cheering and such, could it have been a really good contest that is remembered better? Instead of all the booing and cheering due to what the crowd knew about then, if they handled it like any other big match with Lesnar and Goldberg, could it have been better...Lesnar and Goldberg are both obviously not happy with the crowd and the match goes to shit quickly I think due to it... Personally, I think it would have been a much better match along the lines of Steiner - Goldberg at Fall Brawl 2000 and remembered in a much better light if it was handled like any other match. Thoughts?
  11. Two things: 1. GET KHAWK's BLACKWELL COMP - Its THAT fuckin good...period end of story 2. In your opinion K, do you think in 1989 if the TCS wasnt done and they stayed with feuds and title feuds...would 89 have been better? Not sayig it would save the promotion, but could be better? 3. Do you think the Texas Hangmen werent used enough as real top line tag team with teh belts?
  12. Scott Steiner vs. Booker T - HH 2000 Really see the psycho Steiner kick into high gear here as he just fuckin destroys Booker T after the match on the way to winning the title a month later in a great underrated feud.
  13. Kawada vs, Hashimoto - AJPW - 2-22-2004 Is their their first meeting or did they have some others that just didnt make the list? My two favorite's from Puro so far...so curious if they have any other clashes...loved this one..but I am biased!
  14. Thanks so much!!!
  15. In the words of Lawrence in Office Space..."Fuckin A Man..."
  16. I know this doesnt fit into the "hate reason" for Inoki...but I dont hate him cause he started NJPW....which is giving me TONS and TONS of enjoyment right now.. As a wrestler, not so much...but what is strange is that when I first saw his matches with no other NJPW viewing, I thought he was really good compared to a lot of the US guys, as that was all I have seen. Over the last 60 or so days, he has fallen FAR and FAST in terms of being good to watch.. Hate in ring? No, but not a fan.. Hate the man? Not at all, he gave us NJPW... But I dont know enough about him as a human being and how he treated others or if he did any or had any shady dealings....
  17. Having issues getting to this and the other rapidshare files unless I sign-up for Rapidshare service.. Am I doing something wrong for these files? Really wanna see this match!
  18. I am more focused right now on NJPW from 95-99, mostly the G1 and Heavyweight feuds....as good as AJPW was during this era, and GOD DAMN it was...NJPW, at least to me, holds its own with the main event stuff....
  19. Yeah, I know....I just like to dig deep once I get going on something.... But that all makes sense....
  20. Clear answer...just the way I like it!! Thanks Ditch
  21. I know the yearbooks do some of this, but I was curious if there was maybe a more in-depth version where each month of each year in the 90s' (and 80's could be) for all of Puro has a "best of" to see from that month...some of the stuff wouldnt be yearbook worthy, but could be worthy of seeing... I am guessing this doenst exist and I am still REALLY new in Puro so I couldnt do it...but figured I'd take a shot!

  23. After listening again to teh great Wrestling From The Past Episode #2 on teh TV title, made me think: What are some of the BEST TV Title matches you are either like yourself or think is underrated... Obviously, doenst have to be a change, but any match involving the title.... For me, one is the Tully Blanchard vs. Brad Armstrong TV match on TBS that went the time limit in early '87....GREAT 10 min match that needs more love..
  24. Great show....thanks for more in-depth looks at AJPW and NJPW as well as the other smaller Japan promotions...gives me a few more must see matches to look up
