  1. Doesn't matter what the referee heard, it's no DQ.
  2. Yes, that's a list of carny fucks that would do what they think Vince wants, which, actually, is the problem. Tony is the only one that has moved on with his life. The problem is not the lack of knowledgeable people in the company. Again, I redirect people to the WWE classics section of the website as proof that they already have the smart people there. The website is great. Look at the playlists. There's a Stan Hansen playlist, a "rare ladder matches" list that actually features rare ladder matches, Best of Muta and Sting together, a freaking Savio Vega playlist. Stuff from all eras to appease nerds like us. Cool features like "where are they now" (these would translate well to mini-original content features), the program with the archivist... Basically the wrestling geeks are working on the website, not the network, AND the network has more oversight (meaning Vince vets all the new content). That's why there's such a disparity. Having said that, there's clearly been a decline in the quantity of cool shit on WWE.com since the the budget cuts got going. Which I guess is to be expected.
  3. Then watch an actual Wrestling company. WWE has always leaned on kitsch and spectacle. I've made the same arguments for a trolling end many times but WWE IS Sports Entertainment it is a different genre, it isn't booking it IS Creative for them. They hire writers to come up with creative and goofy stuff not bookers to book towns. Hardly a newsflash but seem to eer back to them being a Wrestling company. At least in the case of the main event finish, though, there's still a different expectation for something like Seth Rollins vs Ambrose in a Hell in a Cell match compared to The Undertaker vs. Yokozuna in a casket match. That's kind of nonsense given how last years show ended. People should have expected a Sports Entertainment Finish of some kind. It's not that there was a fuck finish. It was that said fuck finish was built around a shoehorned in hologram.

  6. Since you're in the thread I might as well ask: How the hell did Fantasma end up as the lead in Intrepidos Punks?
  7. You know, I should really ask Kevin Sullivan about IT'S NOT HOT. As in call him specifically to ask about it.
  8. Plus they curtained off part of the room for the entrance set.
  9. For better or for worse it does also have more wrestlers/people in the business voting than any other HOF.
  10. Probably the first Observer of November.
  11. This is one of those things where you should probably expand on your thoughts a bit.
  12. It was a 2 hour window. 3-5 AM ET.
  13. It's pretty alarming that even the SmackDown shows have stopped dead in their tracks. At this point there is now zero archival content being added with any regularity.
  14. In all actuality Ivan isn't a good comparison anyway because he didn't work babyface. Lewin then?

  16. When you get to that point shouldn't you just use the hard cam for the whole show like it's a pre-WCCW wrestling TV show?
  17. These are my sentiments. The drama should be building up to executing the finisher, knowing that if somebody hits it it's over. Is there any finisher going today where somebody hasn't kicked out of it / tapped out? I can't think of a single one. Daniel Bryan's flying knee has been incredibly protected. I think the only false finish off it was in the WrestleMania main event and IIRC there were some shenanigans there.
  18. You know, if we could crowdfund this, we could make this whole thing worth it somehow. Apparently a number of the shows exist, unreleased, with English commentary by Bas Rutten and Mauro Ranallo.
  19. Henry's generally considered to be 100% clean for a number of reasons. He also has more than just lifting to his credit, since he won the first Arnold Classic version of the World's Strongest Man type competition (which included a number of perennial finalists in the more famous WSM competition), was the first person to clean the Thomas Inch Dumbbell, etc.
  20. While Saint and Rocco have their "influence" cases, is there any argument against Breaks having the best case of the "great worker" types?
  21. I thought this was easily the best of the mainstream Cassandro articles. Author totally got it and covered a ton of stuff in detail.

PAUL PAUL I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS
  23. We definitely got this on a comp of stakes matches from Monterey. I'm pretty sure I didn't make up the intentional DQ but I can't remember who I first talked to about it.

    RIP Clawmaster

    What the fuck.
  25. Curious how he does this year with the category hop. I voted for him last year but I'll be abstaining from historical.
