This was so hot shoting. They really needed to keep these guys together while letting them work singles feuds. We could also see umbrella story's with them as a team. Have single feuds, that lead to 6 mans or tags on Raw , Smackdowns, etc. The Freebirds just didn't work 6 mans. Buddy Roberts would wrestle Ice Man, Gordy would work Kevin etc. The Shield had a lot left in the tank. The booking here was a poor decision. Sheamus and Ceasaro was another issue . Neither guy should be losing at this time. No matter what the finish. Bottom line they shouldn't have been booked against each other at this time. Though I loved the whole hand shaking thing.
  3. I feel Sgt . Slaughter could have been more of a top guy. Sure he had runs as a top guy, but not the guy. He could work, cut a promo, work heel or face. He made people care about him.
  4. Corino if he was around during the territories would have worked on top in multiple areas. I easily see him in Memphis, Carolina's , all the Texas promotions, Florida, and maybe Mid-South.
  5. He has the Regal match from Super Brawl, and that Dustin Rhodes match from Saturday Night 1/4/92 sticks out for me.
  6. In rewatch I liked the main event much better. It still has it's flaws. Not going long enough isn't one of them. That Titan tron dive by Rollins was sick, but what reason would he be up there for? Still overall a really strong show.
  7. Their was a lot of punishment for all involved. Still not my style of match I like in the Main Event. The finish with HHH resorting to his sledge hammer was neat. Still kind of a train wreck.I hate that all the hard work, and punishment they took was for naught. The match was just there .
  8. Fuck, that was a great WWE style last standing match.
  9. Another good match with Barrett and RVD. The crowd treated both guys as big stars, but man RVD is played out to me. Though this might have been the best he has looked in his return.
  10. I dug that Big E vs . Rusev match. So far everything has been good. The Kane thing was what it was.
  11. Meltzer puts over Muraco pretty big in this weeks Observer.
  12. By all I mean all the ones that have been uploaded. We had been missing 78,85,87 years.
  13. Looks like they have all the houseshows up on the Roku.
  14. I was wrong about the network uploading the show. I saw the banner for Superbrawl and thought it was the egg dome show.
  15. Also with Alfonso Dusty brought him in because they knew each other from Florida. Also Alfonso would eventually become tight with El Gigante, and broker a deal for both of them to go to WWF.
  16. Also with Meltzer he was real tight with Pillman so that might influence his rating in the 6 man.
  17. Parv I have personally pimped the Larry Z/Sting brawl to you on Titans. Though to be fair Will and Charles were one of the first to actually pimp it.
  18. I saw Rewind last night and said the same thing. I'm closer to AJ's age and I had never seen the debut of Miss Elizabeth in 85. Add me to this group where it made me go what.
  19. Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett & Freddy vs. Dutch Mantel, Master of Pain & Ronnie Gossett (7/10/89) If you don't enjoy this match or at least amused by it you have no soul or you take your wrestling way too serious. This was a total blast and had many great moments. I loved the opening shine segment. The faces did a great job with the schtick on the shine. Freddy was the star here. Throughout the match everyone had their moments. Lawler had his moments. Jarrett really carried the meat of match with his FIP work. Dutch was the glue for his team. Gossett had great interactions with Lawler and Freddy. Gossett was a total blast. Master of Pain looked great. They did a great job of highlighting his strengths. This was fun. 3 1/4* Jerry Lawler vs. Eric Embry (TX 9/22/89) This was another good match between the 2. This was a lumberjack match based off the finish in the other match between the 2. This was punch based with both guys throwing great ones. Both men sold and bumped well here. Lawler played hide the object that wasn't an object and of course this was great. He's the greatest at doing it ever. Eventually, Embry would get the "object" and he did some great pantomime too. My complaint still stands about it being un World Champion worthy. I believe a champ can cheat, but not build a whole match around it. Of course having Lumberjacks lead to another screw job finish. 3 1/2*
  20. Jerry Lawler/Jimmy Valiant vs. Kerry Von Erich/Michael Hayes from some point in 89. On paper this kinda piqued my interest. This is from Louiville I think and aired on AWA t.v, This is about as much of a Texas vs. Tennesse match as it can get. The Texas team is treated like heels but don't really try to be ones. I always thought Valiant and Hayes had a lot in common except Hayes was a better worker. We see Lawler and Kerry working a we know each others moves and it really doesn't work for me since they are completely different wrestlers. Hayes and Valiant seem confused out there.Overall the match misses the mark. I'd go maybe 3/4*. Jerry Lawler vs. Eric Embry (TX 9/8/89) I think these guys are great opponents for one another. I feel these guys have very similar ideas on how to wrestle a match. First off they do a great job of establishing the title as something important. We see Al Perez with Akbar, Tojo representing Chu Hi, and Kerry Von Erich arguing over who gets the next show. I thought that was a nice piece of business. The crowd seems really hot for this match. We see it start out with a great Embry punch. Later in the match Embry takes this huge back drop here. Both Embry and Lawler are great at milking great moments, or selling impacts of moves. So all the little and big things matter. Lawler is a master at pissing the crowd off. He uses a scarf and his own boot as weapons throughout the bout. This really pissed the crowd off. I really enjoyed the work and the heat it generated. Sometimes though you feel the World Champ should be above the over the top cheating that Lawler is doing here. I feel the champ could and should cheat, but not so over the top where it distracts from his actual skill set. Still I ate up everything Lawler did. We built to a hot finish, that resulted in a nifty flash pin. The icing on the cake was postmatch when Lawler tells the Granny in the front row to put the belt on around his waist while she's booing. I'd go 3 3/4* for this match.
  21. Ever since they fired the content guy it's been pretty stale for the most part. COC not included.
  22. Can't believe my question got cut for Parv's 10, and who better than Kanyon? I will second the love for the White Stripes. Saw them at ACL a few years back. Jack White is a beast.
