  1. oh yeah, I hadn't even thought about what the crowd reactions would be like right now. I'm sure Orton would be massively over at this point and half the crowd would be turning on Drew by now As for Shane? LOL
  2. Yup to all of the last few posts I'm not surprised that AEW is better than NXT. The main thing going for NXT was it didn't have the main roster stink to it. Now it does, and WWE "creative" blows
  3. Eddie MF'n Kingston!! I avoided spoilers and was legit surprised by that. Been a fan of his for like 15 years going back to his days in Chikara. Totally fits Mox's tease of "hardcore fans will be excited". No offense to Shark Boy but that would have been a massive letdown. Great booking leading off the show hot with that match. Great selling of the leg by Kingston throughout the match. Loved Eddie jaw jacking with Arn throughout. Loved the brawl between The Bucks and Butcher & Blade, starting off in the kitchen of course. Some pretty unneccesary spots for TV, but the Bucks clearly like these guys and wanted to give them a memorable match. Butcher & Blade might be lowkey my favorite team in AEW right now, which speaks to how strong that division is. At any given point it's one of a half dozen teams I'm digging the most AEW has been on a roll of good shows lately. The roster is overloaded, but it's working in their favor right now because nobody is getting overexposed
  4. Aside from the obvious reasons why NOD2020 is a terrible idea......MVP as a mouthpiece and character has been a rare bright spot of the covid era......why pair Ron Simmons of all people with him?!! It would be like AEW looking at how well Taz and Cage are doing and saying, "you know what they need.....FONZIE!!!"
  5. The other thing with Big E is he's still relatively young. He just turned 34 a few months ago, and he's been in the company for a decade!!!! To put that in perspective.....he's younger than Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Damien Priest.....all of whom are being pushed as "up and comers" in NXT
  6. speaking of Jack Evans....I haven't been watching Dark but it seems like him and Angelico haven't been around in forever
  7. Supposedly RAW taping was supposed to start at 1pm EST but Vince had a meltdown and tore up the show, lol Also I guess the finish to Asuka-Banks was changed the day of and that likely will affect how they write out Kairi and plans for Asuka at SummerSlam WWE everybody!
  8. Cesaro is now a 7X (5 w/ Sheamus, 1 w/ Kidd, 1 w/ Nakamura) WWE tag team champion! When you have guys like Billy Gunn, Edge, Christian, Jericho etc. I'm not sure that even puts him in the top 10 for combined reigns
  9. Thank god. It's pretty noticeable with all the gaijin gone that the native talent is a bit thin these days with some of the people they're choosing to push/elevate. Jay was on his way to becoming the best all-around performer in the promotion IMO. Definitely one of my "must watch" guys, and I was lukewarm on him during his initial push
  10. Tony legit loves modern wrestling. I don't really listen to the podcasts as much anymore due to being burnt out on Conrad (nothing against the guy, but I can only handle like one podcast a week out of him) but I love hearing him watch ECW with fresh eyes and be a total mark for the product. One of the biggest differences is that Tony was a lifer, got burnt out and walked away completely for 15 years. Didn't watch anything. Everything is new to him, he legit loves the crazy highspots guys do these days and the bang-bang style while STILL loving the old school. He's not jaded and grumpy like JR can be sometimes As far as the positioning of Taz and Cage in their promos.....JR isn't the first one to bring it up. Someone here did weeks ago I think. I don't see it. Cage dwarves Taz and so him behind Taz makes him look like more of a monster to me. I like Taz getting right into the camera's face with THE MACHINE behind him looking all swoll and menacing......
  11. Yeah, I honestly can't believe that AJ, Anderson and Gallows fell for it.......surely some of their friends could smarten them up. Paul Heyman may be a bullshit artist, but Vince is the biggest carny liar around. I believe 0% that Heyman had any kind of final say on hiring/firing. Asked for input? Sure, but c'mon.....
  12. Really enjoyed the show overall. - FTR and Lucha Bros was clunky at times but turned out very good. Loved the finish with the mask. Liked the angle afterwards. Definitely need to see these two teams hook up again. - FTR disrespecting Omega and whatever weirdness is going on between them and the Bucks....and them and Page seemingly being cool going back to the first beer incident.......to me seems like the perfect way for Kenny to be sick of "playing nice". He's sick of the Bucks and their crap, he's sick of Page....it might seem out of nowhere but there's a lot of reasons for Omega to eventually snap. I'd expect it to happen after they lose the titles to FTR and he turns on Page, this was just a little tease. It will probably simmer for a while. I like Omega as a heel or a face, but I think him turning heel and being the one to take the belt off of Mox eventually is the way to go - Sonny Kiss' entrance with the cheerleaders was awesome. Solid opening match, Sonny is really talented.....also like the eventuality of Cody going heel being slow burned - Main event was really good, told a good story, protected Cage with the finish. Liked the stuff with Darby coming back....the two loners in him and Mox having respect for each other makes sense and obviously that's a face v face match they can build up to
  13. They're running out of scapegoats at this point.....
  14. As far as Naito goes, I love the guy, but it might be a Dalton Castle thing like someone pointed out Also, LIJ are babyfaces and this solidifies that. AND Hiromu is the F'n man......I want to see him vs. EVIL
  15. I was shocked by EVIL winning, but I love it honestly. I'm a fan of the dude, thought him and Sanada were a great team and, surprisingly to me because at first I thought Sanada was the ace of the team, over time I became a bigger EVIL fan. When they gave him a match with Jericho I knew they had big plans for him. This does feel like a hot shot, but I understand why they did it, and colour me intrigued. BULLETCLUB needed a refresh and with White MIA this made sense. It's a bummer because Jay White had become great in the role, but his character was more of a loner......this makes things interesting whenever he and KENTA are back in action ALSO DICK MF'N TOGO FTW
  16. I thought Sabre was taller than 6 flat. Maybe it's because he's so skinny and gangly, and he looks tall by NJPW standards, but I really thought he was a few inches taller than that and I don't see any reason for NJPW to underbill him
  17. Worse. His head would explode. He hates that aspect of Kenny Omega's character with the fire of 1000 suns
  18. He's started again "by popular demand" but I think it's more due to the hype around Fyter Fest and GAB going head to head. I'm just starting listening to this week's Experience (we'll see how long I last this time....I usually need to do it incrementally)......I don't think he's going to last too many more weeks I rarely e-mail Last but I think I'll suggest to him what a few people here mentioned about reviewing old WWF shows from the network that happened before he was there and perhaps has never seen. That would be way more interesting than hearing him shit on modern stuff, but ultimately they're going to do what gets them the most downloads
  19. I would guess Lee has a decent run but I feel he's keeping the belt warm for Kross and getting moved to the main roster. In the interim there's plenty of challengers and I can see him being a fighting champion who defends on TV every other week. There's natural matchups to revisit and also a lot of fresh ones. I do think NXT has always been at it's best with a heel champion
  20. Love to hear stuff like that from an "old timer" like Morton. Something that annoyed me on a recent Corny podcast. He refused to watch Io and Sasha on NXT because there had already been too many women on the show, and because Io and girls like her are "all the same". Said he doesn't need to see another schoolgirl/gaesha. Brian thankfully pointed out that Io is great and that isn't her character, but Corny won't even give her a chance because there's too many Asian girls on the shows. He then goes into the theory of you can't have too many of the same type of wrestlers because then they don't stand out and feel special. Which I happen to agree with generally....but WWE has 3 Japanese female wrestlers that are featured on TV and they're 3 of the best in the world. Better that than a bunch of generic blondes with bolt-ons. And I think he conflates it with Riho and Shida (neither of whom are in Io, Asuka or Sane's league IMO) in AEW and it's just too much for him to handle
  21. I'm enjoying Robert Stone in NXT. Drake Maverick can be good in that role but I didn't like the way WWE booked him with AOP. Leo Rush was good with Lashley IMO. It's really simple. Take guys who can talk and bump but don't have the right size/look to push as a regular wrestler. I don't follow the indies like I used to but I'm sure there's guys that fit that bill who could make it work in WWE. It's not rocket science. I like the idea of Vickie managing Rose. She's really entertaining. I wonder if WWE trademarked EXCUSE ME!
  22. I don't know if it says more about WWE, me or 2020 in general but I say BRING IT ON!!!! There's so much magical thinking going on in the world, so much chaos magic, the empty arena shows are already bizarre.....we had the boneyard match, the funhouse, Rey and Black getting tossed off of Titan Towers.......why not get some Hollywood special effects people in there and RIP OUT A MOTHERFUCKERS EYE!!!!! I feel like this entire year is mostly a mulligan.....why not do some wacky shit while you can? I want WWE to be more like DDT, Hustle, FMW, Incredibly Strange Wrestling, Kaiju Big Battle etc. etc. etc.
  23. Didn't watch SD but I'm a big Riddle fan. That say, no way in hell can anyone on the radar fill the shoes of Daniel Bryan. I expect him to get out of dodge soon, and he's irreplacable. One of the few guys I'll actually tune in to WWE to see. Riddle could be one of those guys if they don't fuck him up with bad booking, but I don't think he's one of the rare guys like Bryan who are so F'n great they overcome it. Maybe Riddle is, but I hate that these days I have to think these guys are behind the eight ball and succeed in spite of the company they work for Bryan leaving will be a MASSIVE loss and they have nobody to replace him. A lot of the people being featured these days are older and won't be around forever, and they've done jack and shit to prepare for the future
  24. I hate when I see this thread bumped because I always expect the worst And of course my first thought was "omg Ric tested positive....."
  25. Yeah, that's what I thought too. I hope they do a tag match with the 4 of them and more matches with Io and Banks (and Bayley!!!). I'm enjoying having Bayley and Sasha travel around between the brands working with everyone
