Shoots Review and Preview thread
flyonthewall2983 replied to BruiserBrody's topic in Megathread archive
He seems to be a different guy since he left WWE. More bitter, even when he's not explosive. If you watch his RF shoot you'll get what I mean. He's full-on pissed when he talks about Russo et al. but he switches to a more welcoming persona pretty easily. -
Plus I don't think Vince would have ever allowed Ted to do a photo shoot without his ring wardrobe of a nice suit.
-
It must be from 87 or 88 though when his hair was lighter.
-
There is a repost from JR's blog in the previous page that includes chapter names. Presumably these could just be interviews about the subject of each chapter, and not a fully-formed documentary like they've done before.
-
He posted a list of extras and it seems they are including interviews from Jim Cornette.
-
I only caught the ending of it, and Orton's body language told me this was a shoot.
-
Why Bill spread himself so thin with those mags is beyond me.
-
Surprised to still see that "2 magazines in 1" gimmick going.
-
For some strange reason (think it might have been a prank or inside joke), one day the Bulldog/Warlord match was spliced in at the end of our morning announcements at my HS.
-
Sounds like this will be better than my first thought. The no doc part really turned me off originally, now I think I'll pick it up. Sounds like there's one to me.
-
Amazon has it up for Pre-Sale, with a release date of September 10th.

What's to explain? Marks will pay him for it. Why make it for free? What a lot of podcasts do, and I think this is smart, is make the last say 20 or 50 free but if you want the older ones you purchase a premium version of the show. Not articulating this right but Meltzer could do this and rake it in even more I think. Plus it would give his show much more exposure.

Could Sting have made it in WWE?
flyonthewall2983 replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Pro Wrestling
His promo style, the howl, they definitely would have made him change finishers because of Bret. And at a certain point they'd probably make him lose the face paint, too. -
Could Sting have made it in WWE?

He would have been Sting in name only. They would have changed everything else. -
Has Dave ever explained why he hasn't brought his own podcast to iTunes?

[1990-12-29-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Sgt. Slaughter
flyonthewall2983 replied to Loss's topic in December 1990
Despite all this I believe the claim that they moved from the stadium to the Sports Arena for security reasons. Likewise the threats on Slaughter's family.- 10 replies

Could Sting have made it in WWE?
flyonthewall2983 replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Pro Wrestling
No way in hell Sting would ever get a deal like Rock or Lesnar did. WWE are such star-fuckers for anyone who could bring them media attention, and the only attention his signing would get is from the one that really doesn't matter to them. Us. -
Could Sting have made it in WWE?

The best scenario for Sting getting in WWE during that time, is if they went with Luger instead of Bret on top. There is no doubt in my mind that they would have repackaged him (they probably would have had to, as WCW would likely have claimed Sting as their creation), as someone who could be a serious contender to Lex's title. -
On Twitter it said they were doing his new theme song, debuting this Sunday. So I guess it's gonna happen then.
-
He was also in a tag match, partnered with Bret in Japan right around the time he won the title from the Iron Sheik, too.
-
I really believe Randy would not have taken him under his wing like Ric did.
-
Yeah, same here I'm sure. Won't spoil it but there's one story that has stuck in my head since hearing it, and it obviously still sticks out in his memory too. Sad.
-
This discussion was in another thread and something I think we can expand upon. Inherently, my instinct tells me no. He could have had a few hot angles to start out with, but eventually they would have moved on and repackaged him like they did virtually everyone else they got from the purchase.

What exactly is at the heart of Irv's hard-on for taking Vince down?
