  1. Me too, but Jesse always could shine no matter who he was broadcasting with. I liked him better in WCW because he was way more neutral than he was as a heel announcer in WWE. Him and Heenan were the only two guys who could pull being that kind of announcer off. As much as I like Jerry on Raw now, I really didn't like his approach to the role back when he replaced Bobby.
  2. Jake talked about it on the Pick Your Poison DVD, said he was trying to shake it off of Randy. I read something that said the snake died soon after.
  3. It was quite a thing to watch him back. It's palpable that he really missed the jolt he got from being The Rock. And he definitely made the most of it tonight. If that translates in Atlanta, my hope is that it brings the entire card up a notch.
  4. I would definitely say that it was because of the lovefest for Shawn Vince turned WWF into at this time. And it is sad, because Shawn did hold up his end of the bargain by having some of the best matches of his career that year. Back then, I thought he would have been champion for a bit longer so it was a legit surprise to me to see Sid win the belt.
  5. WWE's mistake was letting him put on the weight, and just become another monster. But whether or not that was something Vince wanted, or maybe it was something he let slide we'll never know. But back around this time-frame, he was amazing to watch especially when he did the more acrobatic stuff you wouldn't expect of someone of his frame. All that said, I'll give WWE a bit more credit than you. They did put several titles on him, if that means anything anymore. And he developed that comic persona that to me, really comes off as genuine. And even despite the weight gain, he's still capable of doing some good stuff in the ring and can bounce around in it when he has to.
  6. Flair said in his shoot interview he lost because he no-showed a date to watch Reid in a tournament. If you put aside the quality of this match and the whole debacle from the previous year's Halloween Havoc, it's quite amazing on the face of it that Paul won his first two titles from Hogan, then Flair. And since he went on to have a rather lengthy and successful run in WWE is testament that back then they did see something in him and it paid off in the long run. Though it is WCW, these could very well have been The Renegade's title reigns as well.
  7. Found this on YouTube, along with the "November Rain" clip they'd use for "November To Remember" which I always found quite effective.
  8. I liked the irony of Vader putting away Monsoon, who was similar to Vader in his own career as a wrestler. Big, strong, intimidating, but knew how to work the ring as well.
  9. Piper's love/hate relationship with Vince has always intrigued me. The RF shoot he did was quite eye-opening, and more revealing than the thing he did for HBO a few months later.
  10. Disappointed it won't be in Indy, but it may come soon enough once the Super Bowl is held there next year.
  11. WrestleMania 28 in Miami. I would bet good money Randy gets in the HOF next year if not this.
  12. Does he talk about Benoit?
  13. Vince is back on TV tonight, according to the PWTorch Twitter.
  14. Not to be a smartass, but isn't this something for history to decide?
  15. It's a safe bet they would go with the "Crow" Sting. I think it's good for him to have waited this long, rather than to have been lost in the shuffle of guys who came in at the early part of the decade after WCW ended. It'll work on two levels, one for the old fans who loved him in WCW and for the younger fans who probably don't watch TNA. But in my mind, this is all speculation. I'm very skeptical of this even happening. I'll be happy to be wrong and will gladly eat my words about it, I just won't be shocked if it's the Undertaker or even Trips.
  16. Those don't look like cowboy boots.
  17. Anyone find it interesting Stryker said at a certain point when one of the surprise guys came in that this was a "mark-out" moment?
  18. That Boston crowd was particularly hot last night.
  19. The fans popping for Jake Roberts' return (and him bringing Lawler out from under the ring, a subtle start to their infamous feud later in the year) was great. And Vader is hyped like a beast, and brings it. Just too bad where it ended up for him later on.
  20. He did. It was on WWE Classics awhile back.
  21. I remember that one. The Charlie Sheen thing stood out.
  22. God, Flair in Dublin. I think everyone on his plane coming home will die of alcohol poisoning just being around him.
  23. He said something similar during the Liger/Pillman match at that year's SuperBrawl.
