Wrestler's Political Affiliations

Old news, but he isn't running. He said as much on Howard Stern, that he never even considered it. -
The one actually at WrestleMania was better, but I liked the tone of these videos building up to the Iron Man match. The one before Hogan/McMahon at WM 19 was pretty amazing too, particularly the choice of music.

[1996-03-18-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels training videos
flyonthewall2983 replied to Loss's topic in March 1996
The promos leading up to this match were probably some of the very best things they did during this otherwise creatively dismal period. When you have your two top babyfaces in such a huge match, giving it the Bud Greenspan treatment as a build-up isn't a bad idea. They did it again for the Cena/Rock matches off the top of my head as well. -

I enjoy it from time to time. Fortunately there are other topics of interest for me to look through and discuss. -

No, the only time they did it on television before 1993 was in 1986 when Harley Race became "King". They did it a few times in between those years, Savage won in '87 and I think Bret Hart did in '91 too. They were all at untelevised house shows. -

God help me I'm getting into an argument on Reddit about Savage's run as Macho King and people are throwing out that he won the '87 KOTR as if it's somehow in relation to that. -
Why are they editing the matches? I suspect for reasons related to the limitations of the VHS format. They aren't substantial cuts, but still annoying.

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone

What's the best watch-along? I did this with Bruce's show on the '88 Royal Rumble and really enjoyed it. -
Except in the Mid-South Coliseum

Bobby Heenan even goes a little out of character about it.

That's all probably much closer to the truth than a lot of us would want to admit to, I'm sure.

Getting to the original question of picture quality, I like watching old VHS rips of stuff on YouTube. As long as it sounds at least audible I'm fine with it. There's a certain charm to mono tracks for older movies. I noticed this when I first started buying DVD's that I found the 5.1 surround tracks too clean.

I read that Rousey's involvement is being used as a tool to help Stephanie become more of a "mainstream star". Why doesn't she just manage Rousey then?

Most Unusual Matches features a really compelling voice-over from Jesse Ventura explaining the types of matches featured. It also annoyingly edits a few of the matches.

For some reason "Sirius" is left in during Steamboat's entrance at The Big Event. I'm guessing because it's not as audible as it might have been on other shows. I don't mind it so much when they take out well-known songs from major artists, but music that was originally in those videos and nowhere else. The replacement of the music on those old CHV's is quite sad to me (but I like the new music on the later ones). Someone on here mentioned Bischoff talking on his podcast about how he got "Voodoo Chile" by Jimi Hendrix for a fairly reasonable price in WCW, but that it would be impossible now because of how many platforms it would be on. Makes me wonder how much WWE had to pay for using "Cult Of Personality" for CM Punk and now "Bad Reputation" for Rousey.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard

Pretty sure it wasn't released on home video until the DVD boxset from over a decade ago. -
No Blu-ray?

They have a YouTube channel now, mainly with excerpts from the shows, which I find quite useful for not having listened to every single episode thus far. Conrad asked today on Twitter if they should do a video version (that I suspect would go up there), I think it'd be cool but just do excerpts of the best stuff visually instead of having the whole thing up. -
Am I hearing correctly that in addition to the 10 CHV titles announced already that an additional 28 titles will be released Monday as well?
