  1. Most Unusual Matches features a really compelling voice-over from Jesse Ventura explaining the types of matches featured. It also annoyingly edits a few of the matches.
  2. Going back a little on what I said before, watching Hogan come out to "Eye of the Tiger" at MSG gives you a pretty good idea of just how over he was at that point.
  3. For some reason "Sirius" is left in during Steamboat's entrance at The Big Event. I'm guessing because it's not as audible as it might have been on other shows. I don't mind it so much when they take out well-known songs from major artists, but music that was originally in those videos and nowhere else. The replacement of the music on those old CHV's is quite sad to me (but I like the new music on the later ones). Someone on here mentioned Bischoff talking on his podcast about how he got "Voodoo Chile" by Jimi Hendrix for a fairly reasonable price in WCW, but that it would be impossible now because of how many platforms it would be on. Makes me wonder how much WWE had to pay for using "Cult Of Personality" for CM Punk and now "Bad Reputation" for Rousey.
  4. Pretty sure it wasn't released on home video until the DVD boxset from over a decade ago.
  5. No Blu-ray?
  6. They have a YouTube channel now, mainly with excerpts from the shows, which I find quite useful for not having listened to every single episode thus far. Conrad asked today on Twitter if they should do a video version (that I suspect would go up there), I think it'd be cool but just do excerpts of the best stuff visually instead of having the whole thing up.
  7. Am I hearing correctly that in addition to the 10 CHV titles announced already that an additional 28 titles will be released Monday as well?
  8. Looks like the Dudleys will be the tag team going in this year
  9. To hear Liev Schreiber talk about WrestleMania like it was the World Series or Super Bowl in the voiceover will be well worth it for me.
  10. So this has been talked about for awhile, at first with ESPN as part of their 30 For 30 series, but switched over to HBO when Bill Simmons left. HBO Sports have made some amazing documentaries over the years, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they do this, their first full-length doc on professional wrestling. Andre was given the A&E Biography treatment in the late 90's, and while it gave some glimpse into the man inside, I expect (especially given the crazy amount of access given to Simmons and the director by WWE and research gone into it) this to go much deeper. Deeper perhaps on a personal level, but I also expect this to do what the Flair doc did to a degree which was make something for the HBO audience as much as the WWE (or long-time wrestling) fans.

  12. This may well be Vince's "wall"
  13. Vince to make "major sports announcement" this afternoon
  14. Well, guess it's time for me to eat my words. Awesome news.
  15. It is interesting to ponder because Flair thought he was going to work for Bill Watts. All the Hank Aaron stuff happened just as he was leaving WWF. If he'd waited on it a little longer and things made their natural course, who knows if he would have come back to work for someone with no track record in that kind of role. If Hogan's '93 in the WWF happened exactly as it did with Flair still around, he still would've gone to WCW I think. I have no doubt that as things progressed, that Ric played a big part in him coming over, but I think Turner could have made things just as lucrative to him anyway. As far as Flair in this alternate scenario, he probably would have ended up being devalued and jobbed out since Vince was seemingly determined to focus on the younger talent. Who would have been the big money for Hogan in WCW if Flair doesn't go? Im guessing Randy Savage wouldn't have turned up unless Hogan was there. Perhaps Vader? Keep the belt on him until he arrives in the middle of 1994 and a properly planned-out program with those two could have done well for the company. But I think given some of these alternate scenarios we're looking at it Flair stayed he wouldn't have been around too long anyway. Even though in execution it was poor it was a no-brainer for WCW to capitalize on making Hogan/Flair a main attraction once they signed him.
  16. They could have made him Yoko's mouthpiece like they would later for Jim Cornette. Maybe split them up later, and we could have gotten some real interesting matches.
  17. Ugh, said it already.
  18. They might gain back their goodwill Sunday.

  20. I've just seen bits and pieces but I loved the clip of Brother Love backstage, throwing in a little Jerry Jarrett. Someone said a few hours in on Twitter that the Manhattan Center crowd got the full '93 Raw experience, a couple of matches and an Undertaker promo. A lot of what I'm reading is reinforcing why I don't watch any more. I haven't even had the Network for a few months and am considering not going back for awhile.
  21. Listening to the Rockers episode now. Pencil ribs might be the most ingenious thing I've ever heard of coming out of the wrestling industry.
  22. Bill Goldberg is on the newest episode of Amazon's The Grand Tour if anyone is interested.
  23. Don't quote me on this but I swore I saw something earlier in the thread about how the masters aren't transferable to the technology which makes it possible to upload them.
  24. Lately I've been wondering why they just didn't revamp their Saturday Night slot, or just get rid of it.
  25. ESPN confirmed today that Bill Goldberg will be inducted this year. No doubt he will be the main attraction for this, especially given his recent run in the company. I'm hoping for Vader, Haku and The Midnight Express.
