  1. Ronnie Garvin as one of the Headbangers would have been awesome! Re: Luger, I don't think the Summerslam booking hurt him at all. He was still right up there as one of the top babyfaces. I'd say that the WrestleMania loss did some damage, only because there really wasn't any sort of discernible follow up on it, and he seemed lost in the shuffle until the Tatanka angle in the summer of '94. I don't even think the six day title reign hurt him too bad. Luger's win over Hogan was one of the best moments on Nitro in '97, and it wasn't like he jobbed clean. Hell, Bischoff had spent all year undoing title losses to Hall and Nash. I think like Garvin it felt like the end of Luger's story. He won the big belt and lost it. Now he is feuding with and putting over Buff Bagwell at Starrcade. Speaking of Luger I think losing to Flair at Starrcade did some damage. He was a talented performer so he bounced back. Boy Lex got screwed over a lot.
  2. He was Jimmy Garvin's step dad and tv brother.
  3. Garvin went from NWA champ to WWF version of Itallian Stallion.
  4. Luger beat Yoko by countout in August '93. He won the WCW title in August of '97. Four years is an eternity in pro wrestling. Luger was red-hot as a babyface chasing Hogan that summer. I'd say the title reign was more than deserved. I do think losing the belt back less than a week later hurt him. They did not have much choice since they were still building to Sting/Hogan but Lex ended up looking like a chump.
  5. He seems really complacent in the 88 stuff I'm watching. It seems like after winning and losing the big belt he had nothing to prove. So he just hangs out with brother Jimmy and fights the Varsity Club. Maybe the heel turn changes things. Show probably should not of lost. But he did not come out of that match looking weak. He kicked the shit out of Austin for most of the match. in an era when nobody dominated Austin. Even Undertaker and Kane did not dominate him like that at Breakdown. Show looked better losing to Austin than anybody else would winning. Because he was one of the most over acts in wrestling in 97.
  6. It doesn't make sense to want a skinny giant. But WWE harped on Big Show for years about his weight. Nothing new. "I'm a piece of shit. I'm just a fat piece of shit". 1998. Because you see, you can't have fat guys, it's not rassling anymore, we need guys who all look like Randy Orton. This might reopen a can of worms, but is it really all that surprising that the WWE prefers their entertainers to look like Orton? Professional wrestling has a history of using that particular model for success Yeah since about 2002.
  7. Don't really get what you are disputing.
  8. Doesn't mean its right. Just shows Ad people are shit bags who have always looked down on the working class. It doesn't make sense to want a skinny giant. But WWE harped on Big Show for years about his weight.
  9. Dallas had some crazy continuity up to the dream season. Not really intrusive but past episodes were referenced when needed. Even if it was from years before. Well it was Coach saying it.
  10. I don't think Flair was taking a shot at Macho Man. Bret made a similar statement about Owen in his book. How he wished Owen lived for the moment more.
  11. And the promoters incompetence did nothing?
  12. Didn't Gorgeous George have theme music?
  13. WWE did not kill wrestling in the United States, WCW did.
  14. Just issues in general.
  15. I have no idea how shoot Roller Derby is suppose to work. I can't figure out the rules of fake Roller Derby.
  16. Anybody ever seen any Pro Wrestling Illustrated Weekly issues? Been looking for awhile.
  17. 93 Dusty also created the Hollywood Blonds, Vader as dominant heel champion, the Cactus Jack face turn and power bomb angle. 91 Dusty created the fucking Dangerous Alliance. I'm watching 88 right now and the good far outweighs the bad. The Varsity Club, the Midnights/Fantastics feud, the initial Midnight Rider angle, Powers of Pain weight lifting challenge, Sting's feud with Flair.
  18. I do not know about the rest of the letter but this is indeed false. Dusty is a better booker than Cornette any day of the week.
  19. The best part being the WWF sued WCW for ripping off gimmicks that the WWF ripped off from WCW. How did WCW's lawyers not produce footage of the Diamond Studd from 1991?
  20. Uh no,
  21. Um what?
  22. Taker was a walking zombie turned biker turned zombie. if he does not qualify as a monster nobody does. Nathan Jones came in to help Taker in the Mania match.
  23. Big Show is a giant and Undertaker is a monster. The rules are different.
  24. He lost center of the ring via submission and did not get the win back for two years. HHH is not subtle. He once pinned the tag team champions in a handicap match with a spinebuster. Whatever he did to off balance tapping out was done because he was a main eventer and set to be part of a big storyline
