  1. Looking back at these Raw's as a adult, I had no idea Goldust was so risque as he was. I knew he was kinda freaky and loved Hollywood but wow, I'm surprised how much they got away with.
  2. This was nothing much. Rey/Psicosis was good towards the end and Heavy Metal tripping on the ropes during the intros was funny.
  3. I liked this more than Loss. It wasn't a great match like the tag but it was fun and Sasuke's dive looked really great.
  4. Embry/Lawler is from July 91 and is on Bix's "Jerry Lawler in the Independents" comp. It's ok but I don't think it should be on the set. The Kamala match is from December 1991. Some other Memphis stuff: - Cornette's run with the Fabs in early January 91 like mentioned is really good. I think the week where the Fabs turn on Cornette because he bashed Jackie Fargo should be on the set. - Terry Funk's promo after losing the USWA title to Lawler talking about how the Mid south is a sewer and he's teaming with the Texas bunch( Tojo, Embry and Prichard). Pretty funny when Terry forgets Tojo's name and calls him a Japanese goof. - Speaking of the Lawler/Funk match, there is a real good retrospective USWA did on Lawler on TV which features a couple music videos (Elvis My Way, Thank god for Kids, The one which shows him beating all the big names like Savage, Hogan, Bock etc.). I think it's from Early March 91. - USWA had it's own version of the John Gilliam Mr. Dothan angle. After a squash match vs Mickey Jay, Embry sees John off camera and asks him over. He proceeds to attack John and give him a top rope piledriver. Gilbert goes nuts and does a great promo. That's from April 13th 91 - One of my favorite angles in 91 took place in Eddie Marlin's office. Eric Embry and Bill Dundee had a disagreement after Embry beat Dundee in a loser leaves town match but the ref raised Dundee's hand. They had a meeting with Marlin, Embry, Dundee, Miss Texas and the ref to figure out what to do . Words can't do it justice but it would be a nice thing to have on the set. I think it's from May 18th or 25th. - I don't know how you guys feel about Wrestlecrap on the Yearbook but I would include Ta-Gar: Lord of the volcano, Leatherface( He destroys the USWA desk in a great moment), Cousin Harold, "Lord Humongus", MC Slammer, The Ronnie P Gossett vs Bert Prentice feud, P.Y Chu Hi's 91 run, Prentice attacking Michael St. John, The Grave Digger, The Spirit of America( If anything from USWA should be on the set, it's this), Surfer Sandman, Black Cat JT Smith, "The Ultimate Warrior" - Another great Embry angle is when he attacks Michael St. John and does a Road Runner type chase with Lawler while wearing what looks like Scrubs from June 91. Plus, from July 6th 91, A mini Riot breaks out between Embry, Lawler, The Bar Room Brawlers, Jarrett, Robert Fuller and Tom Prichard. Some matches that would be good: Doug Masters and Bart Sawyer vs the New kids(Brian Christopher and Tony Williams) 11/2/91 Steve Keirn vs Steve Austin 4/27/91 Sabu vs RVD 7/6/91 And Finally, The "shoot" promo Lawler cut on the "company" Champions Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger from September 1991. This was supposed to set up Lawler vs Lex Luger title vs title but that never happened.
  5. What was the deal with Psicosis outfit during the match? I almost thought it was Juvi with the mask. Anyways, real good match and good spotfest. The Rudo bumping was incredible
  6. Scotty looks huge here. Almost Big Poppa Pump era huge. Good match with some nice spots and almost didn't seem like babyface vs babyface.
  7. Some of the USWA/SMW feud should go on. For Example: -The PG13-Rock N Roll Express match from Monday Night Memories. Went about 20 minutes and features RNR heel turn - Tracy Smothers, Robert Gibson and Mark Curtis invading the studio and beating up the whole USWA roster - Tracy vs Lawler from the Smothers set - Tommy Rich's babyface turn with Lance Russell bringing up his kids - Bob Armstrong taking over the USWA And the PG-13/Gilbert Rich feud is real good. As is the Buddy Landell promo prior to facing HBK for the IC belt.
  8. I'll come back later and nominate some Memphis for you since 91 was a great year for them but I'd like to nominate a UWF Hamada match: Robin Hood & Los Ninja Turtles vs. Shu El Guerrero/Jose Luis Feliciano/El Texano/Black Terry/Ricky Boy (9/12/91) Phil reviewed it over at Segunda Caida but this is really a great introduction to the style. You got Robin Hood, who is the brother of the Brazos flying all over the place and the rudos selling great for the Wrestling Ninja Turtles. Just a great match.
  9. It's such a big moment you almost forget that Tony wouldn't shut up when Hall was talking.
  10. The mini riot at the end was the best part. I was looking forward to seeing Volk Han but this was disappointing.
  11. This was ok but after watching 3 All Japan matches in a row, I had to watch this again. I liked Misawa's dive and the various ways Taue tried to do the chokeslam. It's amazing they could perform at this level after the tag match the previous day.

  13. Stubbs/Anthony used to be tag champs in the late 80's during the dying days of Continental wrestling when Gilbert left. Stubbs and Austin Idol had a great tag team in 84 and feuded with Ron Fuller's Studd Stable( Jimmy Golden, Arn Anderson, Lord Humongus and the Assassin) I'm pretty sure Mike Jackson is still defending the World lightheavyweight title in Alabama somewhere. I really liked his squash matches with Flair who gave him a lot of offense.
  14. Yeah Akiyama was pretty much awesome here. Not much I can add except that the Kawada/Akiyama slap fest was very Battlarts like.
  15. Wasn't Savage rumored to be going to WWF at the time?
  16. Flair said on that Top 50 Superstars dvd that Eddy was one of his favorites to work with. Great match for all the reasons Loss said.
  17. Couldn't they have found someone better to put DDP over besides the Barbarian? Man that was one dead crowd.
  18. Shawn bumped like a freak for Diesel. Especially that backdrop into the cage. Obviously the ending is most noteworthy but I liked the match.
  19. Best part of the match was Dreamer's bump from the eagles nest to the floor. That was nuts.

    Wrestlemania XXVII

Cena/Del Rio, Cena/Taker? Besides Rock/Cena, that is probably the only money match left.
  21. Nothing going on? What about The Gangstas getting introduced by future WCW DJ DJ Ran? That made me laugh. And Sandman toasting Ray Stevens was a nice touch.
  22. This was the time where Luger missed two matches with The Giant and got replaced by Sting each time before finally making this match. I agree with Vic about Giant/Luger having great chemistry. I even liked the tag team they had in 97.
  23. I got to disagree with Loss and say this was awful. Felt like a bad ECW brawl with botched Irish whips and weak chain attacks. Looked real amateurish and like they weren't even tried it. Now it might have turned out better in the last 10 minutes but I wouldn't know since I turned it off.
  24. Yeah RVD's two brainbusters from the top look really unsafe. I'm still amazed Sabu isn't Jerry Estrada right now, crippled in a wheelchair. The ending with Paul E was great.
  25. This felt a little disjointed in the beginning but got better as it went on. Shane's best match on the set so far.
