  1. It's a shame Baxter wasn't around much longer after this. He was great in Power Pro wrestling 1998 feuding with Randy Hales. Lance and Dave were pretty good putting the angle over.
  2. I would've called this a great match but the finish hurt it. I'm guessing Hogan missed his cue cause Sullivan ran around the ring twice for what looked like no reason. Savage was outstanding in the match and so was flair when he sang "I've got the whole world in my hands". The post match promo with Savage going after Bischoff was great.
  3. It's pretty funny that TNA used this angle with Kennedy but wasn't as successful as this was. Good match that told a good story. Loved the powerslam to the ground by Owen. Vince's fascination with HBK at the time was a little weird though.
  4. Pirata Morgan is still wresting in IWRG with his sons and the fake Caras brothers. He was in AAA for years feuding with guys like Perro Jr. and the Black Family. He's still pretty awesome. As for Faraon and Javier, Faraon disappeared in 92 and Javier Cruz in 95 although Cruz returned in Guadalajara in 2004 for a short time. I know Emilio wrestled in CMLL till about 2008.
  5. Personally, I'd like to see Booker in the booth. Him and Scott Stanford would be great. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing him vs Sheamus over the King moniker.
  6. Wait a minute, Liger/Tiger were the heels? Seemed like Otani/Kanemoto were based on the 5 minutes plus double team attack on Liger early in the match? I'm not as positive on the match as you guys are but the final 5 minutes or so were great.
  7. What is the deal with the 2 straight falls matches? I liked this mostly for Santo and Charles. Emilio was in a whole different realm from his partners. I agree about the Dos Caras carrying Dantes thing. That was awesome. Loss, You've never seen Emlio's Los Guapos matches from the early 2000s?
  8. Yeah it amazes me how little heat Hogan had during the match. The match was fine and the finish was memorable.
  9. This felt like watching one of those ROH scramble matches from the early 2000s. Real fun match with some great performances from Asari and the chick that teamed with Toyota in the navy blue that took the Airplane spin at what looked like 50 MPH. However, I still have a hard time watching some of this joshi. The screaming bothers me and the shitty way they run the ropes and do double clotheslines.
  10. Is this the New York show where it's mostly known for having a awful crowd? I think I liked this more than the cage match from AAA. Juvi was really great in it.
  11. The thing I liked about this match was Tiger getting increasingly upset at the ref during the 2 counts. Like Loss said, it was a good match but nothing great.
  12. So will TNA release him so he can induct Arn to the hall of fame?
  13. Really enjoyed this match and it was kinda weird seeing Savage take such a beating from a mid carder like Benoit.
  14. Yeah the Camera work was 2000s indy level bad. When they tried to avoid the ass shot by Flair. it looked like the camera man was shooting a college film. It really took away from the match and the dreaded shoe finish reared it's head again.
  15. MOTYC? I gotta disagree with you Loss. I thought the match was ok but really disappointing. Santo and the Dandy/Satanico mat work to open the match was good but only going two falls and my dislike for Apolo Dantes hurt the match.
  16. Am I hearing things or did the crowd start chanting "wanker" at Tiger Mask? That's pretty funny. Best thing about the match was Teioh doing his Terry Funk tribute spots. And Shiryu almost killing some poor old woman diving into the crowd.
  17. The Homage to the Dreamer/Raven "chairshot from hell" was nice. I'm not the biggest fan of the Rey/Juvi series but this was good.
  18. I enjoyed this. Bulldog yelling at fans and showing off ruled. I remember back in 96, I was a huge fan of the Dudes with Attitude.
  19. Dusty was great at commentary during this match. Especially when he goes crazy when Eddy wins. It's a good Saturday Night match in a era where you didn't get many competitive matches on the show.
  20. When I watched these a couple years ago for the first time, I thought they were just some good natured jabbing. However, watching them now, they are very mean spirited. It almost makes me feel sorry for Ted Turner. Then I remember WCW was killing WWF at the time.
  21. Best thing about this was JT Smith falling out of his chair and bumping his head only to get right back up like nothing happened. Was the Konnan stuff from the beginning his final ECW match. I guess it was only a couple weeks before he debuted for WCW?
  22. This is the first Toyota match I have ever watched and I came out of it impressed. Very stiff match and the heat was great. I agree the screaming was annoying. It was like watching a women's tennis match.
  23. It's a wonder Psicosis isn't like Jerry Estrada and crippled now. The bumps he took were insane. Especially the ones to the outside. The match started to drag in the middle but the finish was good. Wasn't Ultraman the future Damien 666?
  24. Memphis managers/Heels saying that Jerry Lawler killed Andy Kaufman. It was bad when guys like Jimmy Hart and Eddie Gilbert said it in the 80's but when Eric Embry and Nate the Rat said it in the 90's early 00's it was worse.
