    I always liked Sting around this time. His team with Luger was different than the rest of the babyface teams cause even tough Luger was a dick, Sting was still friendly with him. This match reminded me how horrible the commentary team of Bischoff/Heenan and Mongo were.

    Man these get more and more hateful as they go on. Especially the Mean Gene stuff. I didn't think he left on bad terms?

    I agree some and disagree also. This really was the Psicosis/Juvi show but the match was awful. Volador and Mexicano added nothing and really looked out of it. Juvi and Psicosis tried and did some nice dives in the third fall.

    I agree that this got better after the brawling. Aja just killed poor Combat. The stuff after the match was a little weird. I thought Aja would have attacked her again?

    Is this the version where the show Johnny B Badd with a black bar across his face since he went to the WWF and they didn't want to edit the commercial?

    The best part of the match was the aftermath with Hashimoto and Koshinaka. I'm guessing they were challenging Takada for a shot at the belt?

    This ruled. It was more a war than a wrestling match. Loved Vader punching a bloody Inoki right in the face while lying down. The Entrance was just classic Inoki as was the finish.

    This felt more like a ROH/X Division match than anything. The constant kickouts got annoying but I thought the match was good. Kanemoto's injury fake was great and I liked Liger's multiple palm strikes. I agree the lack of heat kinda hurt it.

    Was this Russo's first on screen camera debut? And who played Billionaire Ted? He looks familiar.

    It happened in 97 also. Although it was on Superstars and they weren't wearing football uniforms. I think it was between The Nation, Furnas and Lafon, The Godwins and Owen/Davey. Good way to start out the set. Lawler was on a roll with his commentary.

    Got my discs today and looking forward to start watching. 96 was my first full year watching wrestling and I haven't seen a lot of the WWF stuff since then.

    I like that TNA mentioned they were trending on Twitter and about 30 minutes later, Matt Hardy debuts and instead of Hardy trending, Tyler Reks is. I guess people though since Matt now has a similar hairstyle like Reks, they are the same person? It's pretty funny. This deserves a Cageside Seats post.

    I'm surprised Dylan didn't mention Tommy Rich. Reading the old observers and message board things, he gets a bad rap for being fat and out of shape and no good. After watching mid 90's USWA, he was easily one of the best parts of that era along with Lawler and Brian Christopher. His feuds with Jeff Jarrett in 93 and PG-13 in 95-97 were pretty great. Plus his work with Tracy Smothers and the FBI in ECW might be some of the best stuff ever. Easily top 10 manager of all time.

    I don't see how the move to Syfy hurt Smackdown? It's obvious Vince stopped caring after the second week. The injuries and the addition of Michael Cole on the show hurt it more.

    Yeah the Doctors told Sid to "retire". He only lasted a couple weeks.

    Rich was already a heel as he turned a couple weeks before this. Also this was his 3rd match of the show.

    This is from the show where Rich loses the tag belts but gets the unified title from Lawler right? Rich was just awesome around this time with Doug and the underrated Scott Bowden.
