[1996-09-05-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in September 1996
Hansen's selling and the tope through the bottom rope was awesome. I was a little surprised he got booed heavily when he was introduced.- 19 replies

I like this more than the 6/7 match. Pretty good performance from Ace who I usually don't like. The crowd was really hot for the match which is nice.

Not much to add except that Mongo was just god awful in this match. Especially when he tried to climb the ropes. The Angle was great though.

I didn't like all the mat stuff but the explosions were awesome. Especially Koji's bump.

[1996-08-24-ECW-Natural Born Killaz] Rob Van Dam vs Doug Furnas
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
Furnas just killed RVD with those chairshots. This was better than I thought it would be. But no way should Furnas and Kroffat gone to WCW. They would have gotten killed by the Outsiders.- 10 replies

[1996-08-30-AJW-Grand Prix] Aja Kong vs Kyoko Inoue
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
Kyoko's crying is almost as annoying as Toyota's screaming. But Loss is right about this being one of the better Joshi matches on the set. The Clotheslines were just painful looking.- 7 replies

[1996-08-24-RINGS-Maelstrom] Volk Han vs Tsuyoshi Kohsaka
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
I wouldn't call this a classic but it was fun. Han is just incredible getting out of submissions. The finish was just great. -

[1996-08-19-WCW-Nitro] Dean Malenko vs Steven Regal
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
This was a nice Nitro match and I really liked Larry Z's call of it. I know he gets shit on and rightfully so sometimes but I always liked Larry in the booth when he wasn't putting himself over.- 8 replies

This is a lot like the Jeff Jarrett commercial from the early 90's. Funny as hell.

[1996-08-18-WWF-Summerslam] The Undertaker vs Mankind (Boiler Room Brawl)
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
I didn't think this was as good as the Shawn/Vader match but it was still fun as hell. Especially once they got out of the Boiler room. Mankind going head and back first into the concrete is just nuts. The turn was very well executed.- 17 replies

Liger fits in so well in this environment. Naniwa and him were the stars of the match.

[1996-08-18-WWF-Summerslam] Shawn Michaels vs Vader
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
Shawn's temper tantrum during this match is very remnicent of Orton calling Kofi Kingston "Stupid" after Kofi screwed something up. I don't know what he was trying, I think it was the Perro Aguyao double stomp or something? I think I liked this match more than most with HBK kicking and punching Vader to start the match. I agree with the finish being bad though.- 16 replies

Konnan coming out to California Love and being a tecnico is funny for some reason. I wouldn't call this a good match at all. Rey/Juvi and Estrada's bumping was nice but Konnan just ruins it. He might be the worst guy not only in the match but on this set. He just wrestles so awkwardly and adds nothing. How long was this before the big breakup between Konnan and Pena? Couldn't have been too long.

[1996-08-17-UWFi-Mid-Summer in Jingu] Genichiro Tenryu vs Naoki Sano
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
Yeah the near empty stadium looked like when World Class ran the Cotton bowl in 89. However, this match was fun as hell thanks to Tenyru's punches. Will, When is the Tenyru set coming out? I need more of him in my life. -
[1996-08-15-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXXIII] Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
I like how even though Sting and Luger came down with the Horsemen, Sting and Flair still get in a shoving match. Hogan's "hulking up" spot reminds me when Beer Money did the Beer Money chant while they were heels. Just so stupid.- 7 replies

I've really grown to like the Owen/HBK series. This was another good match mainly thanks to Owen's selling and bumping.

[1996-08-10-WCW-Hog Wild] Chris Benoit vs Dean Malenko
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
I liked the match and Heenan was pretty good calling it. I can see why the crowd would shit on it though. The two overtimes were ridiculous and they started repeating moves towards the end.- 18 replies

[1996-08-06-NJPW-J*Crown] Ultimo Dragon vs Great Sasuke
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
Dragon's AAA mask is just weird. I don't even remember him there. Did Sasuke get injured during this match?- 11 replies

[1996-08-05-NJPW-G1 Climax] Keiji Muto vs Shiro Koshinaka
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
The last 10 minutes of this is pretty exciting. The crowd gets into it and Muto is motivated. Muto getting powerbombed from the top looked painful though. Good match.- 11 replies

[1996-08-04-BattlARTS] Yuki Ishikawa vs Daisuke Ikeda
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in August 1996
Ishikawa's punches were might nice. It's funny that Battlarts seemed to have better production back then then they do now. I guess that's cause they had a tv deal? -
I'm going to go with Bill Dundee vs Wolfie D. So many twists and turns happened in that feud. PG13 loses a loser leaves town match and comes back under masks. Before that was the great angle with Dundee coming back and screwing with Randy Hales. Of course you have the Jerry Lawler Heel turn and the angle with him writing Cyberpunk Fire a check but needing his real name. I also liked the Flair/Savage feud. But that was more 95 than 96.
