  1. I don't know about the Adams/Austin feud but years ago I bought a 2 VHS comp of the whole Embry/Akbar feud that starts with Embry as a heel feuding with Kendall Windham and Steve Casey all the way to USWA Texas. So the footage is out there. As for matches, Embry had some good ones with Gary Young and Cactus Jack but 99% of the time, they ended in a run in. I mean worse than Russo booked finishes. And the Texas vs Tennesee multi man tag match with Jarrett/The Samoans and Eddie Marlin vs Embry/Steve Cox/Michael Hayes and Frank Dusek is a awesome match just for the Samoans turning on the USWA team.
  2. Great article on WCCW/USWA relationship Bix. But I would love to know more about Embry's booking as I heard he did some crazy shit. I got some of that stuff on Tape but need more of it. As for other promotions you should do, One should be WOW(Women of Wrestling) I admit, I have a soft spot in my heart for that promotion. I even bought the ppv. Also that promotion from 1995 that did the British Round system with the guy from Roller Jam doing commentary with Terry Taylor. I forgot the name of it.
  3. Dustin Rhodes or Shiro Koshinaka? Haven't seen much of Shiro in his prime so I got to go with Dustin here. Raven or Sandman? - This is kinda hard. I liked Scotty the body in Portland, memphis and WCW but since about 98 he's really sucked. I also liked Sandman in 96 and his wwe run wasn't half bad. I'll probably go Raven by a hair. Abdullah the Butcher or Bruiser Brody - I like brody more than most here but I'll go Abby. Although it's sad to see him these days when he can't even get in the ring. Shane Douglas or Eddie Gilbert? - Without a doubt Eddie Gilbert. When I was younger I really liked Shane but as I get older, I see how bad he really was. Especially in ECW. Getting the Memphis and Mid South DVDVR sets really has shown me that Eddie was one of the best guys ever booking wise. His feud with Tommy Rich is better than anything Douglas has ever done. Sid or Kevin Nash? - Sid easily. Even when he was have shitty matches in WCW 2000 he was at least enjoyable. I've seen and Jingus can attest to this a Thunder from 2000 with 3 different Sid matches and all of them were at least not boring. Nash is a better talker but Sid is more entertaining. Jim Powers or Paul Roma? - I guess I'll have to go Roma as I can't really think of anything Powers has ever done. Undertaker or Vader? - Ah man this is tough. For peak years, I'll go vader but overall, I think it's Taker. I watched a lot of Vader matches for the WCW poll and while he's had some great matches(Sting, Flair, etc) some of his most pimped matches really don't hold up for me(The Cactus series). I can't think of a Vader match that was better than Taker/HBK from Mania 25. MX vs. RnR Express or MX vs. Fantastics? - MX vs Fantastics. I never really could get into the Condrey/Eaton version of the Midnight Express as much as I did the Lane/Eaton version. PG-13 or Doom? - PG 13 no contest. As i've mentioned elsewhere, I really didn't like Doom at all. They had some good matches but that was with great teams like the Steiners and the Horsemen. PG-13's matches with Rich/Gilbert and the Heavenly Bodies are better than those matches DOOM had.
  4. Plus wouldn't a better comparative be Flair and Nina Hartley? Although seeing Bix being freaked out like Phil in a diva thread is funny.
  5. Gordon Solie or Lance Russell? Without a doubt, Lance Russell. Even when you can tell Lance couldn't care less, he still gave his best. Can't say the same about Gordon.
  6. I haven't seen a lot of Santo's early CMLL work but I got to pick Casas here. That man makes Mistico look good and that's hard to do these days. Arn without a doubt. I think Barry Windham is overrated in some ways. He's a good worker but the only match I really liked of his was vs Murdoch. Dusty and it's not even close. Hogan is a good entertainer and was at the right place at the right time. His WCW stuff is just so god awful. Especially the late 90's/early 2000's. Jingus knows what i'm talking about. this is hard but i'm going with Regal. Regal's WWE run is underrated and had some surprising matches in WCW. Can I pick HBK? I guess I'll pick Marty but i'm not a big fan of either. Love both these guys but I'll have to go with Foley even though he's a total embarrassment now. Lawler easily. Benoit is a better wrestler but Lawler is a better all around performer. Gibson. Morton gets all the love in RNR but without Gibson, it wouldn't have worked. Plus I love 1995 SMW Heel Gibson better than Heel Hardy. Rock. Hollywood Rock is better than anything Cena's ever done. Punk. I love 97-98 DDP but prior to that, he was pretty bad. Especially in 96.
  7. I have it at number 4. It could have been number 1 but my top 5 could have changed by the day.
  8. What are some of these great AAA Rey matches that make him better then than he is now? I can't think of one that was better than Rey/Eddy from Smackdown in June 05. His AAA stuff was good but hasn't really held up well. The feud with Juvi especially hasn't held up. The cage match they had was horrible and very ECW like. In WWE he's able to adapt to different guys like Ziggler, Knox, Hart Dynasty etc. and have good matches with them. It's not like in AAA when he was facing guys that had a similar style(Juvi, Psicosis, Perro Jr., Eddy etc). As for Eddy's work in Los Gringos Locos, it's one of my favorite groups ever but none of those matches were better than his WCW 1997 and WWE 2005 matches. Octagon/Santo vs LGL has been REALLY overrated over time. The match that's on the PWO comp is way better and even that I wouldn't call a great match.
  9. I can't believe I forgot Steamboat/Rude from Beach Blast. Loved that damn match.
  10. Flair/Steamboat.
  11. I should post my ballot to make Dylan go really crazy. The SS94 match I had at number 3.
  12. What are these great TNA Jarrett matches I need to see? I remember Jarrett/Styles being good and I liked the first Jarrett/Angle match.
  13. Hardy Angle Candidio Luger was pretty good in 89-91 but after that it went all to hell. I was a Luger fan in 97 when I was younger but man those matches don't hold up at all. I'd put Hardy/Jericho over anything Luger did after he went to the WWF on. I liked Jarrett in Memphis and his feud with Tommy Rich is one of my faves. I also thought he was underrated in WCW but man his WWF and TNA runs are bad. Angle was one of my favorite wrestlers ever at a time and Angle/Benoit from RR03 is still my favorite WWE match ever so I pick him. Malenko just bores me to tears looking back at his stuff for the WCW project. He had some good matches with Rey, Eddie and Jericho but some of his stuff has just aged awfully. Candido was so great in SMW with his feuds with Smothers and Ricky Morton. He even got some good matches out of Bobby Blaze. I also liked his ECW stuff with Storm and Taz. Haven't watched those matches in a while but I remember liking them.
  14. Only 2 of the matches so far are even on my list: Horsemen/Midnights and Regal/Finlay. I think this countdown is going to be very interesting. I hated the 89 Wargames. In fact the only 2 wargames matches I liked were 92 and 94. 1993 was ok but the finish hurt it. None of the Savage/DDP matches held up for me. It was a good feud with some OK brawls but the matches I didn't think were very good.
  15. I only came up with 47 matches cause too much WCW watching can drive a man crazy. I forgot all about the Wellington match though.
  16. How about a guy like Tyson Kidd? He screams whenever he's on offense and it really gets annoying sometimes. Another person that screams is Kelly Kelly. Especially when she does that headscissors thing.
  17. Gilbert was awesome as always but the real star is Dream Machine. Is there a lot of footage avaiable of his run in the mid 90's? That guy is just great. And was that Prentice boy toy Colorado Kid Mike Rapada getting the cake in the face?
  18. Ivan impressed me here with his selling while in the head scissors and his bumping. The match wasn't horrible but it was really boring at times and the finish sucked. Best part was Lou Albano getting escorted out like he was being arrested and randomly yelling in the mic.
  19. Loved this match but i'm a huge Murdoch fan so I might be biased. I can see why some people might not like it though. Felt kinda like a squash match but a good one.
  20. Bockwinkel had a good match with Jeff Jarrett when Jeff was a rookie that's on the Memphis set. His series with Lawler was awesome.
  21. Didn't Dutch also book some time in Memphis and Championship wrestling from Florida?
  22. I'm really surprised the whole site isn't Members only.

  24. To be fair, Heenan started going downhill around 93 in WWF.
  25. Yeah that was Kamala with Watermelon Memphis style gimmick right there. That said, Truth made it work as I laughed at it.
