[1999-10-18-WCW-Nitro] Goldberg, Sid, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Sid in a suit is just wrong. He cuts a rambiling promo before Goldberg runs in. Goldberg damn near kills one of the lawyers with a spear. His head hits the bottom turnbuckle. Goldberg sells Sid's beatdown like Davey Richards. The shoving match was weak. Nash is sauced.- 4 replies

I guess Kim is starting to turn heel. Was she still in the Nitro girls around this time? Poor Mike Tenay just gets drenched by the cooler.

[1999-10-18-WCW-Nitro] Rey Misterio Jr & Konnan vs Harlem Heat
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Boy are Tony and Brain in full mail it in mode here. I think Disco was on commentary too or at least it sounded like him. The First Family are shown in the back looking on. I would have loved to see Brian Knobbs vs Rey Rey.- 4 replies

Felino/Octagon/Heavy Metal/Pathfinder vs. Jaque Mate/Abismo Negro/Electroshock/Pentagon 7/12/1999 This was from Felino's short run in AAA in 1999.He was there from April to October and only had a handful of matches before going back to CMLL. This match was built around the Tropicasas vs Tirantes feud as Tirantes lost his hair in June due to Felino. Tirantes is kicked out of the match early one but comes back with the Kickboxers that Pena had a fixation on during the time. They destroy Felino and Heavy Metal and it turns into a big brawl where the Vatos Locos get involved. Rest of the guys don't do much but it's nice to see Pathfinder in a main event. LA Park vs Dr. Wagner Jr. Monterrey 4/7/2002 If you liked the feud these guys had but can take rudo ref, I say this would be worth watching. It's Monterrey wrestling to a Tee with the refs fighting the wrestlers and even doing dives. A brawl that goes all over the building and Park gets his mask ripped to shreads. Lots of weapons shots.

Most of the guys that aren't on the card are working in Columbia the same weekend. I got to say, besides the Villanos match and the main event, that is one weak card. Another Cage/Patron match? That awful looking Blue Demon match although I guess the Wagner match went through so I can sort of understand. The 3 team match is just a waste of Pentagon/Angelico/Evans. And the return of Sexy Star. I was hoping she was gone for good. I'll probably buy it because I want to see Villano Iv bleed for my entertainment and the main event should be really good. I got low expectations on the show overall. Wish they would put Striker with Vamp again.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
The Melendez/Young stuff. Putting the shitty beautiful people back together after all 3 feuded with each other for months. Gail Kim single handily beating the Dollhouse in a cage match. Book Simon Diamond and Al Snow in gimmick matches in 2015. Another god awful Jarrett heel stable. It's a typical TNA taping but you would think if they were on death's door, they could do something better. Why not just give the Harris twins the tag titles already? -
Benn watching some 2001 IWRG. More specifically, the 3 week feud between El Dandy and Scorpio Jr. I love me some over the hill brawling Dandy and he was going after Scorpio's IWRG IC title. They had two really bloody 6 mans with guys like Mr. Niebla, Rambo, Tony Rivera and my favorite Jerry Estrada clone, Crazy 33. Haven't watched the title match yet but looking forward to it. IWRG in the early 2000's is a weird place. You had indie guys that faced CMLL guys but AAA had nothing to do with the promotion till like 2010. They had some of my favorite old time indie guys like Rambo, Mosco de la Merced and one of my favorite discoveries since I've started watching these shows, Super Parka. Such a fun gimmick and I think I like him more than LA Park. I've also been watching some 1999 AAA. Big fan of Pena bringing back the micro mini's who had a brawl at a kids amusement park on the toy horses. Also Felino in AAA.

[1999-10-17-WWF-No Mercy] Steve Austin vs HHH (Anything Goes)
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Good finish sowing the seeds to the Rock/Austin feud. I thought Chyna/HHH were through during this time but guess not. -
[1999-10-17-WWF-No Mercy] Edge & Christian vs Matt & Jeff Hardy (Ladder)
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
It's funny that this match was basically built around Terri but at the end of the match, she comes out of it over the least. Even despite Lawler going gaga over her. Good match with a bunch of nutty spots. Watching it in 2015, it's still looks as brutal even though these matches evolved over time.- 14 replies

[1999-10-17-WWF-No Mercy] Jeff Jarrett vs Chyna (Good Housekeeping)
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
No wonder Jarrett held up Vince for more money to do this match. He carries Chyna to a respectable match while getting hit with such weapons as pies, a kitchen sink and powder. Not sure why they needed to do a Dusty finish though. Lawler spends most of the match cat calling his wife who leaves with Chyna to become her slave. -
This isn't a style I particularly like and I'm not a big fan of Homna but I appreciate this. Like the Yamakawa match, this was worked more like a weapons match than a grab and blade match like most deathmatches. Homna takes insane bumps on powerbombs and WX even takes some bumps. Good match.

[1999-10-17-BattlARTS] Taka Michinoku vs Minoru Tanaka
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Only in Japan could you get a WWF guy vs a new Japan guy in another promotions ring. This was a little long but good. A mix between NJ junior/WWF heel style and Battlarts. Love that the first move is a kick to the head that Taka sells great. Good match in a time that those weren't happening much.- 7 replies

[1999-10-16-MPPW-TV] Brian Christopher and Doug Gilbert
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Man Brian is so more entertaining as a heel. I can see why they kept him as a face for so long but he's great here. I liked the Brian Christopher clock and trading card. Doug comes off heelish here.- 5 replies

[1999-10-16-MPPW-TV] Interview: Wolfie D / Wolfie D vs Jim Cornette
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Kevin Fertig aka Kevin Thorn debuts and beats down Wolfie. Funny thing is they would team a few months later. Something I've notices from Power Pro is they weren't drawing very well in the studio.- 4 replies

[1999-10-14-WWF-Smackdown] The Rock & Mankind vs New Age Outlaws
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
Another title switch. Why are the Outlaws feuding with the Holly's? Why is Rock stuck in this feud when he should be in the main events with Austin and HHH? -
Bulldog makes Stephanie call him David. This angle is just weird and makes no sense.

[1999-10-14-WWF-Smackdown] Mark Henry and Sex Therapist
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
I liked how the therapist says "Sexual, come back sexual". But yeah this was a different time for sure. -
Big Show tries to show off his acting chops but it doesn't go over well. At least this leads to one of the best moments in WWF history.

[1999-10-14-WCW-Thunder] Kevin Nash: Color Commentator
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
I remember watching this whole show and it was something else. Apparently this was Nash's last show as booker so he just made every match as squash match with boring guys while doing commentary. It was entertaining I'll give him that. Especially the NFL films like call of the Sid/Goldberg segment. -
[1999-10-11-WCW-Nitro] Interview: Scott Hall & Kevin Nash
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
I love how Nash just says he's still retired. Pretty much the same segment as last week. Nash and Hall have to fight through the crowd just to get to ringside.- 4 replies
