  1. This was an end of an era. I mean I know Jumbo had been semi retired for years before this but with Baba gone and now Jumbo, it was really over. Nice touch with him doing his pose on the turnbuckles.
  2. This is probably the most calm Hogan interview you will see. Also one of the better ones. You can tell Hogan really feels everything he's saying about Flair. Looking forward to the match based on the hype.
  3. I've seen this before but I don't remember him praying on live tv during this. Feel good promo by Duggan. Sad that it never went anywhere and the only thing he's known for during this era was digging the TV out of the trash can while being a janitor.
  4. Probably cause it's Onita in a New Japan ring. Funny that NWO Sting is still a thing in 1999 New Japan. When regular Sting joined the NWO wolfpac, did NWO sting dress in red and black? This was a hot angle to set up the match they are having later in the year.
  5. Loss is right, this is really bad. Grunge looks even fatter than when he did the cameo in WCW a month ago and they weren't even over. Sad.
  6. Flair is in North Carolina so he always ups his game. He compares himself to Michael Jordan. Another good promo from Ric.
  7. Why is Meng in his wrestling gear? Good casting though.
  8. Disco tell Nash to give him a wedgie. Nice.
  9. Why wouldn't there be a camera in the limo? It's WCW after all. David is a pretty bad actor and Torrie isn't much better.
  10. This is tabloid journalism at it's best. Vince couldn't make WCW look more minor league if he tried. I'm surprised Bret didn't mention him hating Japanese angle from 95.
  11. Steve Bradley comes out to the Raw theme and he's the babyface. This was kinda hard to follow cause they look alike. Not a bad much not not overly exciting either.
  12. Styles is even more annoying than usual. All he talks about is Don Callis and the Jackyal. Granted that Storm really doesn't say anything new. Dawn impersonating Beulah was funny.
  13. Mae Young as Stasiak's mother is perfect casting. Mae beating up Corey Maclin is even better. This Lawler/Stasiak feud is overbooked as hell but entertaining.
  14. Hayes with the line of the year so far: "Randy Hales i'm gonna slap you so hard it'll knock your eyes straight". Best promo in 99 so far.
  15. Good match with a great ending. Santo taking out his partner with an insane tope. The crowd almost causing a riot after the end and Bestia/Scorpio having to dodge trash being thrown at them. Good stuff. Scorpio's bacne is not so good.
  16. Yes this was a little long but still enjoyable. Especially after that scary bump the guy in the yellow took when he slammed his head on the outside on a botched huracarana. I thought that would be the end of the match but it still went on. Some great dives by the tecnicos and Virus proves he's one of the best wrestlers ever.
  17. Winter Park. It was about 3 miles from my house which was nice.
  18. Nash's Arn Anderson never gets old. Hogan looked ridiculous as Flair. This wasn't as good as the first one but was fine.
  19. This is Turner's version of the Sports Illistratued swimsuit edition. Brings back memories of Fyre and Spice and scramble vision.
  20. Was this before or after Spike Dudley's giant killer where he was beating guys like Mabel and One Man Gang? I remember marking out big time for this when I first watched it. Ref screwed up the count though.
  21. This was fine but I just didn't care for it till the final 5 or so minutes.Bret seemed checked out of WCW and Booker was still trying to find himself in singles. I liked the big "Watch Raw" sign in the front row.
  22. This was stupid but damn do I like Big Poppa pump. His reaction to the gay bar was classic. I bet WCW spent 25k on this whole segment for nothing.
  23. Why would they do a Inferno match on Free TV? Nice visual and Kane takes a sick bump to the announcer table. The Teddy bear stuff was too much.
  24. Went to the Evolve show tonight. Really good stuff with some great matches like Rodrick Strong/Thatcher, Ricochet/Drew Galloway and Biff Busick/Uhaa Nation. The Strong match was good especially since Strong worked twice after having match on the FIP card vs Rich Swann. Thatcher is just a treat to watch live. The way he lays in headbutts and does submissions is different than anyone in wrestling these days. The Ricochet match was fun cause Ricochet was just a total dick in it. He injured Galloway's finger somehow and did a huracarana off a basketball hoop. He also got fallaway slammed into a concrete wall which had to hurt. Biff/Uhaa was a war back and forth. Can't wait to see Uhaa in NXT vs guys like Tyson, Sami, Neville and Owens. AR Fox/Trevor Lee was cut short when Fox got knocked out from a Lee kick. He was busted open but the ref didn't bother checking on him till Lee tried to pick Fox up and he went limp. It was a scary few minutes with Gabe running around and no EMT around. Luckly AR Fox was fine after the show. FIP show was pretty bad though. Tag title match and Swann/Strong were ok but bad finishes all show. The Fray match was a mess and sloopy. Too many of Chaysen Rance's shitty students booked. Teddy Hart showed up unannounced and had to 3 way match. I know it's not cool to like Teddy these days but I popped for the damn cat.
  25. Didn't he turn when Gossett hit him in the head while doing commentary during a match? That's on the USWA texas discs Will released.
