  1. It's funny that both companies had "CEOs acting like the common man" angles going on at the same time. This was better than the WCW stuff though. Vince chasing the chicken and punching the meat was great.
  2. Undertaker could get away with this stuff cause he'd been around forever and no one was gonna tell him this was stupid. I kinda like the look he was going for but this bored me to tears watching it back in 99. I guess it was Russo's ode to Kevin Sullivan.
  3. This was a good leaving town match from the Giant. He got more offense than I thought and it took a wrench and the whole NWO to take him out. Nice callback to the Bischoff angle.
  4. Well this was a nice try to get Goldberg's heat back. Not sure if it worked and I kinda agree with tim about how he should have just kicked ass without talking.
  5. This was like one of the old NWO videos in black and white. Nash was pretty funny. Hogan looked bored as usual.
  6. Luger actually sold a little for Rey. That was the part that stunned me. Nice to see Rey out with the big dogs even though he would be back with the cruiserweights before long.
  7. Man Piper vs Raven in 1999 would have been a disaster. Still get a kick out of Sandman in this role.
  8. It's funny WWE did a version of this with Perry saturn and Moppy. This was silly but not awful.

    Punk to UFC

More power to Punk for finding a money mark to pay him to live out his dream.
  10. Man you would have thought Flair would have a better office than that working for Turner. I liked the security guard saying "please sit down Mr. Bischoff" and then Eric asking does he know who he is and the guy says no. The Klondike Bill stuff was classic.
  11. So Flair brings back JJ Dillon who wasn't even over in 97 much less 99. Juvi looks blitzed out of his mind here. Good stuff from Flair tho.
  12. So Taz needed Sabu, Candido, Tammy and Francine to beat Shane Douglas? what a way to make him look weak. Typical overbooked ECW main events.
  13. Didn't dreamer have a bad back during this? The hell is he doing that dreamer cutter for? This was pretty bad even airing just the finish.
  14. I like how New Jack kept trying to get up during Bubba's promo and Bubba would break out of his southern accent.
  15. Man I remember hating Terry funk during this time. He just didn't seem to fit into ECW. OK promo I guess but it's interesting that they bleed Fuck but not any other curse words.
  16. Paul E doesn't even take off his headset so you know it's serious.
  17. Awesome match. It was good to see Yakushiji is as good as he was at Barley Legal. I've heard of Crazy Max but never seen a match of them. It's like Kaientai mixed with Los Vipers but better. Cima especially was great with his low blows and general heel tenadcies. Very fun match.
  18. I'm 29. I started watching wrestling on accident. I remember I was watching the preview channel and they were talking about the 1995 Royal Rumble with Bret Hart/Diesel and HBK in the rumble. I was hooked so I started watching Raw weekly. A couple months later I found WCW Saturday night and started watching that. That's pretty much all I watched until around my birthday in 1997 when I got my first computer and found wrestling websites. Around this time I found ECW thanks to the WWF invasion and started watching that in 1998 after staying up till 2 am to watch when my mother was asleep. I was around 14 at the time. 1998/1999 is when I started getting into lucha by watching CMLL on Galavision and Los super Astros. I started going to shows around 1999 with Monday night Raw. That was around May 1999 the week before Over the Edge. In November 1999, My grandfather died and he was the only one that would watch wrestling with me in my family. He wasn't a hardcore fan but he hated Hulk Hogan and WCW so he would watch sometimes with me. I also had a friend that was almost as big into wrestling as I was and we would go to WWE shows and even backyard wrestle with other friend. By this time, I was watching anything I could get on cable and buying magazines like the Apter mags and even the C level magazines that promoted apartment wrestling and Tommy Morrison fights. I remember being pissed when I couldn't go to the ECW ppv in Orlando. Hell I even watched XPW, NWA Wildside and WWE Metal when it was on the old America One web feed on Saturday Nights. Around the time WCW died and after the invasion, my interest started to fade. I was still a fan but I had lost cable so I couldn't watch Raw or the PPVs anymore. Got cable back in 04 but Raw was awful with HHH running the show and I started watching promotions like MLW and even TNA. Eddie Guerrero winning the title got me back into WWE in a positive way and that lasted till the Benoit murders. I remember when Eddie died and everyone in college was asking me about what happened since they knew I was the big wrestling fan. After the Benoit murders, I still watched but felt dirty doing so. That lasted a couple months and then went back to normal. I started going to local shows in the area around 2008 when Mania and ROH ran the arena. ROH was my first indie show and I was amazed seeing the Dragon gate guys. I started getting into Puro around that time. I knew about it but never really watched it. From 2008-2013 I would watch anything that was posted on the internet. In 2013, I started going to NXT shows and these days I'm more into wrestling since probably 1999. It's funny since my enjoyment of the current WWE product is at a all time low. I hate to say this but I kinda hate watch Raw these days. It's gotten better since Steph left but I"m still not enjoying it especially compared to last year. I doubt I'll ever stop watching though.
  19. Nice contrast to matches that were going on elsewhere around the world. The announcers try not to pay attention by talking about Nash's website and the Tag tourney. Matches like this is what makes B/c shows so special.
  20. Nice to see Lawler buy the shark cage from 1970s detroit. This is the zenith of Randy Hales redneck attitude era. At least it's more realistic than throwing people in the dumpster every week. Also the cage is in the studio cause Hales and Brandon Baxter had a loser spends the taping in the cage a couple months before this and I guess they just kept it there?
  21. The closeup on Lawler's face is terrifying. This is very 90's giving away walkmans and watchmans.
  22. I like how Satomura was trying to hit the Death Valley driver out of anywhere. Like Randy Orton with the RKO. This was really fast paced but not sloppy. Fun match.
  23. I'm pumped up for the return of surfer Sandman from the early ECW days. So weird seeing him as a clean cut guy. Kanyon takes a Curt Hennig type bump into the pool. Awful but those were the highlights.
  24. Subdued Hogan is dressing like a 50 year old from Seattle. Sad to see Psicosis get embarrassed like that with Nash doing Konnan's catchphrase. Giant looked like he was already on the way out and just mailing it in here.
  25. Flair lays down and Mean Gene makes the count of three. Flair cuts a good promo and tries his best to make sense of everything.
