Christian Cage: angry college professor
-
Oh lordy, the Great O-Kahn is back in the US, lock up your strippers!
-
Why wouldn't they when he's been one of their most over acts?
-
Also it seems if you read between the lines there, Bryan is fine but probably needs more time to be cleared than most due to his history.
-
ZSJ vs Shibata maybe? They had a great match not too far back.
-
Gotta love how TK doesn't fuck around, got something important? Kick the show off with it.
-
Lana is battling a bad case of covid per the WO update from yesterday, so I wouldn't have much hope for that one happening.
-
If that ends up happening, that will make 10 matches on what probably will end up being a four hour show. That's not too bad considering WWE usually has as many matches in their shows but ends up cutting the time for each one down so they can air video packages you already saw on TV a million times.

I think people put far too much emphasis on championships, Warren Moon is one of the greatest QB's I've ever seen in my lifetime, but because the Houston Oilers as a team were either marginal or butt most of his career he never gets mentioned. A lot of guys who played in eras either before free agency or pre salary cap (which prompted a lot of players to jump to teams more willing/able to pay them more) get boned because they played for bad teams. Also I hope this is a lesson learned for TK that AEW isn't built to come right off a PPV and then build for another one within a month.

*insert "Always has been" meme here* Funniest thing of the Warriors winning this title is all the people in the Hot Take Industrial Complex deciding now is the time to anoint the greatest three point shooter of all time as Officially One of the Greatest as if that hadn't already been the case for a while now. Also to keep to the topic, anyone else get the feeling AEW is doing a speedrun of 90s All Japan having off the charts matches only to leave everyone involved with them a physical wreck in the aftermath?

To be fair, the Jarrett/Effy match seemed to be setting up a longer program. However, considering he's done this to AAA numerous times now (including the first Triplemania XXX show in April where they teased a Jarrett/Rey Escorpion vs Latin Lover/Vampiro feud) they should have suspected something like this could happen.

Reading the Observer, Two Dimes got fired for failing a drug test. Does the Wellness Policy not apply to NXT folks anymore? I could have sworn I saw people in the Black and Gold Era getting strikes, even the ones that weren't ever publicly mentioned. At any rate, this makes the story even weirder. Serious enough to get fired but not serious enough that they said he could come back in a year if he stays clean.

Edris Enofe has quickly risen in the ranks of "people becoming awesome in NXT"
-
You'd think, but Roman/Riddle was the real mover. Also just getting to watch NXT after spending the day in NYC, and it's amazing how their women's division runs circles around the main roster. They have women's tag champs who are part of a featured act! And they have challengers!

It never fails to crack me up when Becky keeps dressing like a lost third member of Daft Punk even while having an emotional breakdown.

Surprised Vince's quads didn't explode all over the first three rows when he did that little jump off the ring.
-
oh no, Vince is here
-
Welp..... going from Rhea to Carmella is pretty much the biggest downgrade possible.
-
WWE seems to be snakebit right now when it comes to potentially cool matches getting derailed. Bianca vs Rhea would have been something to see, but alas..
-
Funny thing is Dave was by far the more famous Hebner for a while since he was the ref in most of the big matches of the 80s in WWF, but once Montreal happened all anyone remembered was Earl.
-
Tim White was one of those who seemed to be loved by everyone, several wrestlers currently in WWE have mentioned how he was the one who would be the wrangler when people had to do conventions and appearances and formed a bond with everyone he worked with. Of course WWE being WWE, they had him do things like the "Lunchtime Suicide" skits, but what can you do.
-
It seems from every report I've seen so far, Vince is in full swinging dick alpha mode over this. History has shown when he gets like this we're about to see some completely bonkers shit soon.
-
It looks like Orton was the planned match for Summerslam, and when it became clear he wasn't going to be able to make it that's when they made the Brock call.
-
lololol at Vince pushing the "In case of emergency, pay Brock" button
