Loss made a point that people are hung up on the total viewers and not the actual numbers TV stations look for.
-
Also NJPW doesn't allow any matches to be officially announced until they run their own show (they do that for their own shows too), which handcuffs how much you can build.
-
I think the big issue here is AEW is clearly not built to do PPVs back to back like this, and it's messed with the booking as a result. Sure Punk getting injured was a "shit happens" moment that required some last minute scrambling, and doing a joint show with NJPW is too good to pass up.....but doing another big show a month after one of their big PPVs is not how this company was configured. AEW works best when long term stories build to a crescendo after months of twists and turns, not the WWE style "hey it's June so everyone has to be excited about this months PPV because reasons".

Black and King have been a kickass tag team for a while (I think they're still PWG tag champs?), and while they wouldn't be my first choice to be champs I wouldn't do a double take at them being in a title match.
-
Yeah even after combining the IWGP and IC titles they have IWGP World IWGP US IWGP JR IWGP Tag IWGP Jr Tag Never Never 6 man Rev Pro UK title is defended here a lot New Japan Strong (even if it's technically their version of the NXT title) KOPW is basically treated like a title

I'm fairly certain once ROH gets TV or whatever the hell the plan is, we won't see those belts on AEW as much as we do now. Also the only reason AAA titles get on US TV (anywhere) is because Konnan wants to remind people in the US that AAA exists since they keep fucking up their plans to get actual coverage here.
-
The Owen belts aren't titles to be defended, it's just part of the deal for winning the tournament. Also we all knew AEW is modern day JCP, are we really surprised they have their own Mid Atlantic title now?

He's also wildly popular so you might as well let the people do their BAY BAY chant even if we don't like it here on PWO.

Time for Bubba's favorite wrestler, BAY BAY

That's right, Regal. Tell that dork he's getting murdered later tonight.

Jesus, Andrade just shoryuken'd Fenix in the balls.

They're gonna do Mox vs Yuta, aren't they?

I love how Keith Lee is basically IRL Beast from the X-Men, big monster dude who sounds like a college professor.

Yeah when someone's not able to fly it's usually either an ear related issue or a concussion.

I don't really see all this "House of Black is DED" talk actually matching reality. It might not be your bag, but they get good reactions and have banger matches pretty much every time they go out. People were absolutely in to the Wyatt stuff even when it got spooky, it's the fact that Bray sucked ass in the ring and actively hurt the momentum of everyone he was paired with (except for Bryan and that was due to sheer force of will) that soured most folks on him.

Also Commander Azeez is probably flushing his phone down the toilet right now.

I was so hyped to see Apollo I didnt notice his Nigerian accent got Kofi'd.
-
Her head smashed off Paxley's midsection, not sure who got the worst of that.
-
That match is going to bang so hard. Also it was kind of heartbreaking to see how happy Apollo was to be back in NXT.

SRS reported Finn replaced Edge in Judgement Day because WWE wanted them to be more "supernatural" and Edge was resistant to that.

In my headcanon, Sammy and Tay are purposely trolling El-P

I would say that AEW has the better roster in the sense there's more people positioned to fill spots if people higher on the card get hurt and/or leave. In WWE, they're pretty much fucked if Roman decides to go make movies or whatever full time. Even though they have a ton of people on the roster, you can count the folks who could realistically be put in a top spot on one hand and have fingers left over. Now WWE has shown they can heat someone up and put them in a main event spot on a temporary basis, but they've also shown they don't stick with it and that the person ends up back in the same position they were prior to the push. I suppose this will be AEW's big test since Punk was their biggest draw and he's going to be out, but that's just going to open the door for folks who have been somewhat downplayed as of late.

I forget, have we seen full heel Balor in WWE before? I hope he goes full Bullet Club Prince Devitt and rides to the ring on Priest's shoulders.

I love an good old Horsemen beatdown!

It was interesting to listen to Dave's review of Hell in a Cell and hear him say he wasn't impressed with Edge in the six man match. He's usually an Edge fanboy and I thought the match was a fun if not spectacular sprint.
