  1. That was surreal, felt like Vince was on the verge of announcing he was stepping down or something serious and was just like "WELCOME TO SMACKOWN!"
  2. That was dumb, but in context of the match it wasn't as bad as people tried to make it out to be IMO. She's gotten herself over pretty well and seems like a nice enough person (and as stated has been front and center promoting LGBTQ issues in wrestling) people seem to give her a pass for not really being all that great in ring.
  3. That's what any normal (for a billionaire CEO) would do, but.........
  4. I admit i dont follow GCW super closely, but I thought that the Hammerstein was an anomaly due to them not wanting to upset PPV providers by doing any of their usual mega violent gimmicks.
  5. Someone at Fox has to be screaming into their phone at this point to stop Vince from appearing on TV, because the idea of "angry, threatened, backed in a corner" Vince with a live mic is pants-on-head crazy at this point.
  6. Sterling is a great #1 Paul Jones level manager and, Jade moving on to Stokely is the perfect metaphor for her moving to the next step.
  7. She wasn't Vince's type (blonde with big boobs) so if he doesn't want to fuck you he doesn't think anyone else would either.
  8. It was also mentioned in the original Wall Street Journal story that in addition to looking in to the Vince allegations they are also looking at the company culture as well. That could low key turn out to be the biggest deal since you have about a million examples to pull from, like AJ Lee stating in her book that she was told (by someone widely assumed to be Johnny Ace) that while she was very good in the ring she wouldn't get a star push since no one wants to fuck her and that's what's most important.
  9. My guess was that he's heard the rumors and probably believes there's enough smoke that there has to be some fire to it, but doesn't have enough to journalistically say so.
  10. AEW still leaving tons of money on the table not selling Jungle Boy posters styled like the one Michael Hayes used to shill in the magazines back in the 80s.
  11. Y'know it would be very interesting if someone revisited the "Johnny Ace was a sugarbaby for Mrs. Baba" stories that were around back in the day. I remember someone hinting at that once to Dave and he did one of those "I'm not NOT saying that's incorrect" answers.
  12. I liked the theory I saw on Twitter where Christian saw what happened to his pal on Raw and decided to turn on his young protégé' before he got it next.
  13. It should be mentioned that NJPW didn't want AEW to announce any matches for the PPV until after Dominion. I guess now seeing they were belting up Jay it makes sense, but I wonder if TK knew that was going to happen before having Page do the I WANT OKADA promo. It did kinda fit his anxious millennial cowboy gimmick to be all "welp guess I'm just a dummy" last night, I have to think that wasn't originally part of the plan.
  14. Well the only part they got wrong is that Dunn isn't a member of the board. He did sell stock after the board was made aware of the Vince stuff and it would be difficult to believe someone in his position didn't get wind of it somehow.
  15. Seems fitting the first main event after the Vince news dropped would include Riddle. The (non WWE) universe has a sense of humor sometimes.
  16. Saw it pointed out that for as teflon as Vince has been, using company money to pay off his affairs is the one crime even rich people don't often escape from: stealing from the mighty CORPORATION.
  17. Seems like now is a good time for any unhappy woman on the roster to ask for a release.
  18. TBF I'm pretty certain FTR beats whoever wins this after they beat Cobb and O-Kahn so they can do the tag team version of the Ultimo Dragon pose with 8 different belts.
  19. Can we take a moment to think how bonkers it is that Tanahashi and Jon Moxley are having a face off on US TV.
  20. Breaking news: Dax continues to rule. film at 11.
  21. I'm not saying this is the end for Vince (although it's certainly not looking good at the moment), that would certainly be something that after all the things he's alleged to have done he'd go down over hush money. That's some "Al Capone went to jail but only for tax evasion" type shit.
  22. Apparently the belief among people in WWE is that Steph knew this was coming and stepped down ahead of time and that Triple H is the one who leaked the story. That would be the wildest turn of 2022 if Hunter was just biding his time letting Vince enjoy his victory before dropping a dime on him.
  23. Getting him ready for the main roster, gotta make sure they strip everyone of whatever got them over in NXT brother.
  24. I don't think anyone was suggesting Jeff's wrestling style is the root cause of his issues, I know at least I'm not, but for sure continuing to do the moves and take the bumps he does is not going to end well for someone with such well documented demons. Blaming the family is indeed bullshit, and Matt's public comments so far seem to portray a guy who is trying his ass off for his brother while knowing it's always just a matter of time it seems until the next incident. I do think it's fair to ask Tony wtf he was thinking putting him in a ladder match considering the state he was in physically. At some point he has to step in and be like "maybe you should just go home and rest for a month or so to get yourself right". At the end of the day the responsibility does fall on Jeff of course, but since he's long ago made it clear he isn't able to manage that responsibility, then fair or not it does kind of fall upon folks like the boss at his place of employment to take steps to either protect him from himself or at least protect any of the people he would be working with. Even if TK gave no shits about Jeff as a person, he should have felt compelled to do something in the interest of protecting his company from having an event get fucked up. ESPECIALLY since it's involving someone who has a history of just that very thing happening. It's not just some random message board hypothetical, any company taking a chance with him at this point is holding a hand grenade with the pin pulled.
