  1. Funny thing is WWE is cutting their own noses off here, since I'm sure Sasha was a big merch seller.
  2. They were hoping to sell 30k tickets and barely got over half that, considering it's July 4th weekend (which drives up the cost of flights) and UFC is doing a show at the same time basically across the street. They didn't want the visual of a half empty stadium, I don't think there was much more to it than that.
  3. That's where I'm at too. Obviously the honeymoon period of "wow a real competitor" is mostly over at this point, the feeling that TK is at least trying to book to make the fans happy is such a different experience than WWEs endless HEAT shows.
  4. Fell into a rabbit hole of Southwest Championship Wrestling (as you do), and found out that the owners of the footage have a streaming service at wrestlinglegendsnetwork.tv which I hadn't heard of before. It's got a bunch of territory stuff WWE doesn't have ownership of, and while I'm sure a lot of us have the DVDVR sets this seems like a decent place to see stuff that doesn't pop up anywhere else.
  5. The Islanders pretty much ran their course at that point, and I suppose he just wanted to move on. I never heard of there being any issues and the family pretty much has jobs for life if they want, so I would think he just wanted to go to greener pastures.
  6. This sounds horrible to say, but Hangman really lost a lot of momentum when he took a break for the birth of his child. So much happened while he was gone that by the time he came back he was already an afterthought and all his programs since have felt tacked on. I'm not saying he shouldn't have taken the time off, but in retrospect the whole damn promotion seemed to lap him.
  7. Yeah he had a bad hamstring injury, I suppose God took the feud personally and did a Horsemen beatdown on him.
  8. WWE just announced Money in the Bank has been moved from Allegiant Stadium in Vegas to the MGM Grand Arena. Apparently they only had about 17k tickets sold for a stadium show, which is..... not great.
  9. Yeah but when they did that with the TNT title people started screaming they "ruined" the title so you can't win either way it seems.
  10. I distinctly recall a couple times watching Nitro where he'd nail someone in the head with his knee when doing a SSP and I thought I'd just witnessed a murder on TV.
  11. Kidman was nearly killing people with it back in his WCW days. I clearly remember reading at the time that Vince didn't like how many near misses he had and was discouraging anyone from using the move.
  12. Well Kenny and Orange will be back at some point, it's not like AEW has completely turned into a No Fun Zone. Plus I'm not sure the zany stuff is what got people into AEW, it was more of it being a national platform to allow people to do their thing without stupid scripting and booking.
  13. The funny thing is O'Khan actually is a great wrestler, its just that his gimmick is to be 2022 Killer Khan.
  14. 100% Vince thought that the move was too cool/fancy to be used by a guy he only saw as a jobber. There's no way he's telling anyone upper midcard or higher to stop doing their finish unless there was an issue someone got legit hurt from it. Pulling a power trip on someone who can't politically do anything about it is the kind of thing that gets him off.

    AEW TV 5/18-5/23

Finally got around to watching Rampage, and I was struck by how bald Big Damo looks like dad bod Matt Bloom.
  16. Yeah she was improved a lot in the last few weeks.
  17. Mandy Rose getting smacked with a ball sack seems too on the nose even for WWE standards
  18. Man, NXT sure seems to get a lot of injuries that put people out of action for exactly one week.
  19. Just noticed SANGA has the Shad Khan stash. That can't be a coincidence.
  20. I know it's a tag team so the dynamics are different, but Tony Baggadonuts' boys are already better in the ring that he is.
  21. Just from the fact he's never done a promo as good as the Talking Smack one before or since, I suspect Bryan came up with that one since as stated Miz is pretty good at reciting someone else's verbiage.
  22. The bow and arrow seemed like a group effort in futility to me, but even if you put that one on Cody it wasn't Miz's best night. He usually is better than that (weak kicks aside) so maybe it was just a bad day at the office.
  23. Man, Asuka is the best worker on the women's side by a long shot. Her being gone made me forget how smooth she is. She's the best promo by miles too.
  24. Miz saying the one thing he learned in life was to never trust someone with a neck tattoo got a pop from me.
  25. Man, Seth and Becky's closet must look like a drug trip.
