Man, the people who are trying to compare this with the Sasha/Naomi situation and sound like very smart people in the process are annoying right now. Both involve people (potentially) walking out on their companies but one is a case of being frustrated they were given several promises to be given any kind of meaningful creative that failed to come to fruition as compared to someone deciding to ruin the payoff of a two year feud. Neither would be handling their issues in the best way, but they are pretty different situations.

Honestly the worst part of this is the chance Wardlow gets fucked out of his big crowning moment of his career.

Dave on the Breaking News Audio pretty much confirming MJF is doing a Double J since if you're going to pull a power play the time to do it is the night before a match culminating a 2 year feud. Dave also not saying this is the case but not dismissing the possibility that this might have been Vince retaliating for Tony's tweet dunking on MITB being moved out of the stadium. Apparently people inside WWE were absolutely furious about the tweet and now all of a sudden MJF went nuclear at the 11th hour before the show.

What I don't get is what got MJF so big mad in the first place. Yeah he overperformed his current deal, but it seems like he expected Tony to give him a huge raise mid contract and it doesn't work like that in any sport. He has to know AEW will almost certainly get a big rights increase in their next TV deal and as such TK's not going to let any of his top guys walk without at least making them the best offer he can. Being mad that folks with proven names got big money deals compared to what he got coming off of indies and MLW just doesn't seem to jibe with a guy who in all other aspects of business seems pretty smart doesn't make sense. Seems like the much smarter play if you're that unhappy is to just do what Moxley did and play out the string. Let Vince offer you that stupidly large "we wanna poach a top AEW guy" contract and get the money you think you're worth.

Yeah WWE is big on people they sign filling any dates they had booked, probably so they don't get accused of messing with other companies' shows.

Looks like the issue with Joe missing the meet and greet was just a communication issue not related to anything else so it seems like everything is fine there.

Another thing to consider, if MJF ends up no showing the PPV, how does that affect WWE's interest in him? Would grabbing another top AEW guy balance out someone no showing a PPV right after the Sasha and Naomi saga? Vince likes to send messages to talent after all.
