  1. I distinctly recall a couple times watching Nitro where he'd nail someone in the head with his knee when doing a SSP and I thought I'd just witnessed a murder on TV.
  2. Kidman was nearly killing people with it back in his WCW days. I clearly remember reading at the time that Vince didn't like how many near misses he had and was discouraging anyone from using the move.
  3. Well Kenny and Orange will be back at some point, it's not like AEW has completely turned into a No Fun Zone. Plus I'm not sure the zany stuff is what got people into AEW, it was more of it being a national platform to allow people to do their thing without stupid scripting and booking.
  4. The funny thing is O'Khan actually is a great wrestler, its just that his gimmick is to be 2022 Killer Khan.
  5. 100% Vince thought that the move was too cool/fancy to be used by a guy he only saw as a jobber. There's no way he's telling anyone upper midcard or higher to stop doing their finish unless there was an issue someone got legit hurt from it. Pulling a power trip on someone who can't politically do anything about it is the kind of thing that gets him off.

    AEW TV 5/18-5/23

Finally got around to watching Rampage, and I was struck by how bald Big Damo looks like dad bod Matt Bloom.
  7. Yeah she was improved a lot in the last few weeks.
  8. Mandy Rose getting smacked with a ball sack seems too on the nose even for WWE standards
  9. Man, NXT sure seems to get a lot of injuries that put people out of action for exactly one week.
  10. Just noticed SANGA has the Shad Khan stash. That can't be a coincidence.
  11. I know it's a tag team so the dynamics are different, but Tony Baggadonuts' boys are already better in the ring that he is.
  12. Just from the fact he's never done a promo as good as the Talking Smack one before or since, I suspect Bryan came up with that one since as stated Miz is pretty good at reciting someone else's verbiage.
  13. The bow and arrow seemed like a group effort in futility to me, but even if you put that one on Cody it wasn't Miz's best night. He usually is better than that (weak kicks aside) so maybe it was just a bad day at the office.
  14. Man, Asuka is the best worker on the women's side by a long shot. Her being gone made me forget how smooth she is. She's the best promo by miles too.
  15. Miz saying the one thing he learned in life was to never trust someone with a neck tattoo got a pop from me.
  16. Man, Seth and Becky's closet must look like a drug trip.
  17. Good lord, they gotta make sure we know Orton stuck out the pain FOR DA FANS, with the "not like those ungrateful bitches" being left unsaid but assumed.
  18. Interesting development in the story now is that it looks like they left around 5pm, not during the show, and WWE seems to have false advertised the six pack challenge match just so they could badmouth them later. Both the match (with no producers/agents listed which is not normal) and the Becky/Adam Pearce segment were listed for the show prior. Seems funny to have a segment already planned to rebook the main event you advertised was happening.
  19. I don't even think "pretty much" is needed, that match was one of those "if you didn't think this was awesome, this pro wrestling thing might not be for you" matches. That was the best tag team matches I've seen in the us since the Midnights and Fantastics.
  20. If my old man memory is correct, I think that's correct. I remember around that time was when we started hearing stories/rumors about Hall's issues becoming a problem.
  21. Vince absolutely would back up the Brinks truck to poach a top star from his biggest competitor. I agree he won't get anything about what makes MJF great and have him be in the same role LA Knight ended up in.
  22. The best thing is how Dusty hustles back to play D as well, he's not a glory hog out there just trying to score. Also I noticed that at least in the US, today's Google Doodle is honoring the Great Gama's 144th birthday.
  23. From what I can piece together, Sasha was supposed to be in the WM main event and got bumped for Ronda when she decided to come back. As a make good, they told her she would get a run with the tag titles (that were important to her, since the only time those belts mattered was when she and Bayley had them) where they would build them back up. They of course went on to break up all the other women's tag teams and continued not giving a shit about the belts. So when the next big plan presented to her was for her to do a job for the person she got bumped from a Mania main event for, you can see where this quickly became a "fuck this shit, I'm out" moment for her. An interesting part of this is apparently Becky and Adam Pearce more or less had to improv the segment they did to rebook the main event. They were told what the plan was and put in front of a camera to make it happen.
  24. FWIW I'm not saying it's a work, I'm just saying I get how someone might feel it is because it's such a monumentally stupid thing for them to shit on Sasha and Naomi like they did. That "they can't be THAT stupid" initial reaction where you grasp at any other explanation for what you just saw.
  25. I can see why someone would believe this is a work, since it is so monumentally stupid for WWE to have such a public temper tantrum to bury one of their biggest stars who gets tons of mainstream pub. It HAS to be a work, right? Not even WWE can be that stupid, right? Instead it seems like we're seeing a mask-off moment where Vince is showing exactly how he feels about his "independent contractors" As a wise man once said, "they are who we thought they were"
