    AEW Revolution 2022

Tony marking out is the best part of any match.
  2. It was interesting to hear Bryan, who normally goes out of his way to not say anything bad about his time n WWE, mention that when the Giants won the World Series and did the Yes stuff in the parade that was the one time he felt WWE didn't have his back. He rightly mentioned if they were doing like the You Can't See Me stuff it would have been all over WWE TV but when it was his deal it was largely ignored. The best parts were Bryan expressing how much he loves wrestling. I loved him talking about asking Daniel Garcia and Lee Moriarity about what they wanted to do in their matches with him and both of them after suggesting some ideas were like "I just wanna wrestle" and that excited him more than anything. I think that is the main reason he's the GOAT more than anything, he just loves it more than anyone I've ever seen and just devours any tape he can find whether it's pro wrestling or amateur wrestling, just to see what new stuff people come up with that he can use.
  3. I have, and it's awesome to see the reactions of people who know what it means as well as the reactions to those who don''t.
  4. popping for a Wha Happun mention on PWO
  5. It begs the question why debut Cody (or do any other big news type thing) at a houseshow? Ok, it's MSG, but why not use one of your millions of weekly TV hours instead?
  6. So it looks like the snag was Vince tearing up the huge money offer he made after AEW announced they were parting ways and replacing it with a much lower one. Apparently Vince feels Cody lost his leverage when AEW made the announcement and seeming is going to fumble their first opportunity to get a "we got one" moment.
  7. If Sinclair is keeping ROH on TV, they 100% should have some kind of show like Dark but on TV. It's another hour of TV time a week to give people more work/get polish/maybe book their own angles like WCW Saturday Night. Agree that they should not be doing ROH branded house shows.

I dunno, it seemed when AEW launched the idea was for Brandi to be if not the top woman star she was at least in the mix. Then the fans didn't really get in to her and then Britt caught fire, and all bets were off. That led to the disastrous Evil Brandi stuff that landed with a thud, and she was trying to start a program with Jade before she got pregnant. I don't doubt she got blamed for stuff she had nothing to do with, but it wasn't like there weren't any fires amidst all that smoke.

Wasn't Kenny the one booking the women's division? That was supposedly part of the heat Brandi had since she didn't agree with it.
  10. If Cody doesn't go to WWE, then what? He's not going to get a payday that size from anywhere else, and going back to an indy barnstorming tour seems like a pretty big step backwards for him. Also we all joke about WWE bungling things, but holy shit if they somehow blew their chance to change the impression that the flow of talent between them and AEW only goes one way.

Rampage has been paced better as a live show than when they do a taping and have to edit a million segments together.

Another great Punk promo, I love that the result of this story is Punk embracing the dark side to become an asshole again.

That three way was pretty rad, planting seeds of doubt for the PPV too.

With all the excitement around the PPV, I forgot Rampage was live tonight.
  16. Partly the roughness of the style and I think also he put a lot of pressure on himself that has to take its toll after a while. This is the same guy who ended up dying because he felt like he had to keep working even though his body completely deteriorated, just because of the pressure he felt as the ace of the company.
  17. Yeah it's something that will gradually be more accepted over time, and there will certainly be speedbumps along the way. I have a cousin who is trans, and I sometimes refer to him by his former name, not out of any spite but just from my old man brain autocompleting the name I knew him by for 20+ years. It's a learning process for everyone, and hopefully seeing these attempts to legislate folks out of existence will open some eyes to how trans folks aren't the devil but just folks wanting to live their truest lives. But, PWO of course, so I suppose this should probably end this particular conversation.
  18. The best part is that it just recently came out Impact was paying him to sit at home while letting the public believe they parted ways with him. As skeezy as Impact can be at times, there's no way Elgin (or his lawyers) want this to go to trial and get all his dirty laundry aired out.
  19. He was pretty vocal about being pro gay marriage, so that makes me think he may not be down with this latest round of Texas-ing. I could be wrong of course,
  20. I could easily see this happening (the Austin bowing out part at least) if Texas keeps Texas-ing. He seems like a dude who wouldn't want to be seen as defending that kind of shit, plus he's been one of the rare folks in wrestling who really didn't want to come back and do an old man match to damage his legacy. Counterpoint: Vince assuredly knows all this and probably offered him the biggest payday he's ever offered to make it happen.

Aja Kong had that Taz factor where the badass factor somehow makes you not notice the lack of height. Shorter folks that are thick don't come off as smaller people.

Also Ian Riccaboni finding out the same way everyone else did and tweeting through his feelings like an excited teenager was downright adorable.

It should be noted that the wording of the press release seemed to go out of its way to specify that Tony Khan personally bought ROH, not AEW Wrestling LLC. It may sound like rich guy semantics, but it probably means whatever the cost of this was, it won't be on AEW's books directly.

Assuming Sinclair is keeping ROH on their same time slots, just that alone is a nice get for AEW.

Also as people have been pointing out on Twitter, AEW technically has trios titles now since ROH had them.
