WWE TV 03/21 - 03/27 Omos is the true heir to Andre the Giant

Funny how Paul was so concerned about the title ending up on someone contracted to another company, and it ended up happening anyway with Mike Awesome. -

IIRC Al Snow was on loan from the WWF and was never supposed to be anything long term, so when he go super hot out of basically nowhere it kind of caught everyone off guard. -

I wonder how Cody will be presented when he debuts. It would be kind of weird to paint him as a conquering hero since he was a midcard geek when he left WWE and was basically in the midcard in AEW when he left. It would also be weird to paint him as the invader from the competition since that's usually an angle in WWE that results in the "invader" getting jobbed out, and WWE's not going to want to do that (at least not immediately) because it would send a negative message to everyone in AEW who's deals are coming up. It's also going to be weird in a kayfabe sense since he was probably the one who took the most shots at WWE, and him basking in the cheers of a Wrestlemania crowd just kind of makes his character look like either a phony or a hypocrite. -

If the guy has any charisma at all, he's gonna be huge since there's no way Vince doesn't push the hell out of an Olympic gold medalist who isn't in imminent danger of having his neck explode. -
Speaking of the NWA, there was a bit of an odd exchange on Twitter yesterday. Bix was posting about how he hopes people he is friends with in the company realizes he doesn't watch the NWA due to the company being shit, and Maureen Tracy (who was a director with the NWA for merchandise until David Lagana got hit with #SpeakingOut allegations) made a point of replying to emphasize that they are a shit company. Makes me wonder if the wrestling community is finally getting to see the full, uncut Billy Corgan that the music industry knows so well.

It's amazing he had an all pro NFL career and it seems that wasn't even the thing he was best at. -
He has a regular spot as a guest on Fox News talking head shows and normally is sporting the NWA TV belt when he does them. I suppose they see it as exposure.

His wife confirmed the stories that were going around that there was some sort of accident in training that led to his death.

WWE being very un-WWE like with them being all coy with the Cody stuff. The crowds seem to know where this is going, but I would have expected them to be yelling from the rooftops that they got one from the other guys. -

I've read this like five times and it still doesn't make any sense to me. -
Hate to be the WELL AKCTSHUALLLY guy, but Jade was a hidden character in Mortal Kombat II, and the Kiss of Death was/is Kitana's move.

I suppose it's easier for old timers to blame the kids for not getting over rather than admitting 75% of the reason they themselves got over was because Vince took a liking to them, -
Not to mention one of the luchadors that got fired as a result of Super Astros getting canceled was Max Mini, who was supposed to be with Owen as he fell and developed a pretty severe drinking problem as a result.

I don't know if the math works out injury wise, and I don't think I would want anyone facing Omos at less than 100%. -

I get the whole "try to get everyone a Mania payday" mindset, but WWE going the New Japan route and having a bunch of multi person tags is getting a bit much. Not every tag title match has to turn into a battle royale with 75 different teams. -
Indeed, that was fantastic pro wrestling.

CMLL trainee Warrior Jr, also known as Black Warrior Jr was announced as having passed away at 24. No cause has been officially mentioned, but there were rumors that he suffered some sort of severe spinal injury back in August and since passed from that. What makes this notable is that his father Black Warrior is the nephew of Blue Panther and he was married to one of the daughters of Negro Casas, making him related to two great lucha families. He was only 24 years old, and had two children with Omii Casas.

DDT's twitter just posted a video from Christopher Daniels saying DDT wrestlers will be appearing in AEW.

Gable Steveson finished up his amateur career tonight by winning his second NCAA championship to go along with his gold medal from the 2020 Olympics. He did the whole "leave the shoes on the mat" deal so I would assume he will be showing up in WWE shortly.

Kane's kind of been a lesser Undertaker in more way than one, not the least of which was being put in positions for most of their careers where having a good match wasn't the priority (or in some cases even possible).. He's been shown to be a perfectly acceptable WWF/E Big Man Style wrestler who's main flaw has been having paired with a guy who does everything he did only better. He's the Kendall Windham to Taker's Barry.

While his demons are widely (and correctly) discussed when talking about Scott Hall, it's very seldom mentioned the incident before he got into wrestling where he had to kill a guy in self defense that seemed to be the trigger point for them. Makes me wonder how many other people who get written off as irredeemable addicts got that way due to mental health stigmas in society.

Yeah I watched shows from AAA and GCW on FITE and it was pretty smooth, so I'll probably do that for this too.
